Struggling through Bablyon's Ashes from The Expanse series. So far I find it to be the weakest of the series by a far margin.

Binged over the course of two weekends. I'll be the first to tell you that this series has problems--characters, pacing, and continuity come immediately to mind. But, it's just having so much fun (you can tell that the creators had a blast making this), that you usually end up having fun along with it. I also like that it has some seriously amazing action sequences and that it's not afraid to end on bittersweet notes. In season 2 and the special it often feels like a more mature show trying to fit inside a kid show's skin. Thinking of giving the MMO a shot, though I've heard some negative things about it.

Use Firefox mainly because I don't like supporting Google more than I need to, and I don't like Chrome's design or addons. For me, Firefox gives me more of the addons I want. I do also wish it was less Chrome-like though.

Witcher 1 Trying to decide if I want to risk a blind playthrough or use the wiki decision checklist (mostly to make sure I don't miss anything). -
animation Why is it that most animes make female either dumb or like degenerate them
Lagrangian replied to Sofen's topic in Media Discussion
A lot of it is perception. Most of the anime we get in the English-speaking world is the popular stuff, which in Japan tends to mean shonen series, which means its catering to boys so it's unlikely to do much with its female characters. Exceptions exist of course, but I would say you'll find more interesting women outside of the strict shonen genre. -

S06:E08 - A Hearth's Warming Tail
Lagrangian replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
I think this is one of the best constructed episodes we've ever had, but it falls down just a little on the delivery. The problem is that they kind of messed up the Scrooge archetype, and then they sort of gimped the final lesson. First: Scrooge archetype is more apathetic than destructive to the holiday spirit. So in the episode Snow doesn't quite work as a Starlight expy because Starlight is just apathetic, not malicious, towards Hearth's Warming. It's still pretty good despite that, but the final lesson is kind of ruined--in A Christmas Carol the final lesson serves to remind Scrooge of his mortality and how he'll die alone and unloved. So, with everything else it's better for him to embrace the holiday and be happy while he can. And while that's definitely the final result of the episode, the story's idea of "Be happy or you'll die in a pile of snow" kind of undercuts the message of being merry with family and friends. Ironically, the Family Guy cover song is poignant here--in that same episode Chris make the observation that since he professes more selflessness than Meg, he deserves more presents, right? "I'm being happy to save Equestria from a snowy death, so I'm doing better than you." It doesn't wreck the episode, but I feel like the episode would have gone further without it. Especially if Starlight Glimmer hadn't swapped attitudes quite so quickly and whole-heartedly. Also, I kind of wanted to see Twilight be the Spirit of Christmas Future, though I suspected Luna and admit she works better.- 284 replies

In Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, it's possible to do a number manipulation on the boss door in the first dungeon that results in you entering the final level of the game, fighting Ganon, as a child.

I work in Information Technology with a current focus on Desktop Support, but I'll likely progress that to either a Network, Security, or System Admin focus. I don't really have a dream job.
