  1. Black Adam - Not a great movie (sloppy writing, some unnecessary characters, a basic plot, and a very lame villain), but I had fun watching it. The whole thing is carried by Dwayne Johnson's chatisma and the fun action sequences. out of 10.

  2. Prey (2022): By far the best Predator movie since Predators (2010). An exciting back to basics thriller with great Native American representation to boot. out of 10.

Bullet Train: Overstuffed and manic, but still fun action movie. Feels like an imitation of a Guy Ritchie movie with all the violence and snappy dialogue.  8 out of 10.

  3. RIP Mrs. Nichols. Your trailblazing career provided opportunities for women of color not just in entertainment, but also in real life. Damn, between Bill Russell, Pat Carroll, and now this, it feels like all of our legends are leaving us.

  4. Nope - Jordan Peele's latest film is a trippy, funny, and very unconventional take on aliens. Starts slow, but really picks up soon after. Keke Palmer is the highlight of the movie. 8.5 out of 10.

  5. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - It's messy and uneven, but this is still a wildly entertainment entry in the MCU with strong performances and direction by Sam Raimi. 8.5 out of 10.

  6. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - A whacky and endlessly entertaining comedy that lovingly parodies the career of Nic Cage. Pretty sure there's one reference to just about every movie he's been in. out of 10.

The Northman - Everything you could want from a Viking movie and then some. Brutal, gorgeously shot, and not afraid to get into the weirder parts of Norse mythology. out of 10.

  7. Morbius - Easily the dullest and most uninspired superhero film in ages. It feels like an early 2000s comic book movie back when studios where embarrassed/ashamed by the source material. The characters were bland, the effects were lame, the pacing is rushed, and the story feels incomplete thanks an underwhelming climax and an abrupt ending. Matt Smith tries his best with a hammy performance, but it's not enough to save it. 3 out of 10.
