Hellraiser (2022) - The best Hellraiser movie in a long time after a slow of awful sequels. Creepy visuals and gruesome kills. Only downside is that it was a bit longer than it needed to be. 8 out of 10.

It's still rough around the edges, but it is getting better. I hope that the show is able to find its footing in the next chapter.

Very good batch of episodes.

The Woman King - Works as a compelling drama and a well made action film. Viola Davis is incredible in the lead role. 9 out of 10.
-
Barbarian - The most bonkers Horror movie I've seen all year. Brutal violence, lots of twists and turns, and it's funnier than I expected it to be. The less you know going in, the more you'll enjoy it. 9 out of 10.

I'm very Intrigued by this

I feel bad for Lance Reddick. His performance as Wesker was the best thing about this series. Bless his heart, he tried to carried this show on his back. My only consolation is that he got a good paycheck from this.

You know and adaptation is an absolute failure when you make those terrible movies look watchable in comparison
At least those were bad in a B movie kind of way.

But what about all of the Zootopia porn?
I guess we'll never know now. Seriously, I have no idea why they thought that would go over well with anyone watching.

Deadline confirmed that the Netflix Resident Evil series has been canceled after one season. Thoughts?

Prey (2022): By far the best Predator movie since Predators (2010). An exciting back to basics thriller with great Native American representation to boot. 9 out of 10.
Bullet Train: Overstuffed and manic, but still fun action movie. Feels like an imitation of a Guy Ritchie movie with all the violence and snappy dialogue. 8 out of 10.

RIP Mrs. Nichols. Your trailblazing career provided opportunities for women of color not just in entertainment, but also in real life. Damn, between Bill Russell, Pat Carroll, and now this, it feels like all of our legends are leaving us.

He was one of the greatest character actors to ever grace the screen. RIP.

Nope - Jordan Peele's latest film is a trippy, funny, and very unconventional take on aliens. Starts slow, but really picks up soon after. Keke Palmer is the highlight of the movie. 8.5 out of 10.

I’m very torn on this.

Thor: Love and Thunder - Definitely felt like a retread of Ragnarok, only messier and uneven. Still, it's plenty fun to watch and delivers on the comedy. 7 out of 10.
-
The Black Phone - A surprisingly tense and investing thriller. Ethan Hawke is terrific as the bad guy.
-
Top Gun: Maverick - A thrilling, fun, and surprisingly heartfelt sequel to the original. I had a blast. 9.5 out of 10.

A good, but not great start to the series.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - It's messy and uneven, but this is still a wildly entertainment entry in the MCU with strong performances and direction by Sam Raimi. 8.5 out of 10.
-
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - A whacky and endlessly entertaining comedy that lovingly parodies the career of Nic Cage. Pretty sure there's one reference to just about every movie he's been in. 9 out of 10.
The Northman - Everything you could want from a Viking movie and then some. Brutal, gorgeously shot, and not afraid to get into the weirder parts of Norse mythology. 9 out of 10.

Morbius - Easily the dullest and most uninspired superhero film in ages. It feels like an early 2000s comic book movie back when studios where embarrassed/ashamed by the source material. The characters were bland, the effects were lame, the pacing is rushed, and the story feels incomplete thanks an underwhelming climax and an abrupt ending. Matt Smith tries his best with a hammy performance, but it's not enough to save it. 3 out of 10.

RIP to a talented actress, comedian, and all around standup person.

This is sad news, but I wish him and his family the best.

Black Adam - Not a great movie (sloppy writing, some unnecessary characters, a basic plot, and a very lame villain), but I had fun watching it. The whole thing is carried by Dwayne Johnson's chatisma and the fun action sequences. 6 out of 10.
