I'm guessing at least a big opening and ending number, and in between they'll probably manage at least two or three more, most of which will be by Ingram, maybe even all of them, who knows?

Slice of Life was far better than I thought it would be. I thought it'd be okay, but nothing more. I didn't expect pretty much the entirety of the fanon being crammed into it. Honestly, they couldn't have done a better job on that one.
In Every Little Thing She Does, I thought Starlight was going to clone herself using the spell she showed Twilight, but instead she went for something entirely different, and that made the episode better IMO.
Lastly, of course, Friendship Is Magic part 1 and 2. I went expecting them to suck because it was MLP. Instead, they were actually very good; good enough for me to binge watch the rest of the season immediately afterwards.
-
I like that they keep trying new things with them. I think that even for them, it's a learning process. Just throw it in there and see how it works in the episode itself. Sure, they watch them before they air, but I'd imagine they would pay more attention to the overall product at that stage. If they get feedback on it, they'll know if it worked. Some bronies are very vocal, so I have no doubt they'll receive mountains of reactions each episode, and I'd wager if enough of them addressed a certain expression they'd take note of it in some way.

I think a lot of the lessons are applicable to both kids and adults, some more so than others. But really, even adults sometimes need to be reminded of things they've long known. Even if they don't usually act on them, being reminded might make them mindful of certain behavior, and they might even decide to change it. The show gives the message, it's really up to the person in question to decide how to interpret and what to do with it.

I've always had the feeling that plot-relevant items only really show up in the opening and ending episodes of any given Season. Honestly, Season 4's handling of the keys was probably the best way I've seen them handle overarching plot stuff in regular episodes. I've also wondered why Twilight didn't bother to research the Elements of Harmony more before the Tree made its appearance. In-universe, I really don't see a reason for it. Out-of-universe, the writers have openly stated continuity was never their main focus, so I guess it can't be helped that elements will be introduced that get no explanation other than 'this is another form of weaponized friendship, zap zap boom'.
My headcanon on the matter is that Celestia flat-out told Twilight not to look into it at the time, and Twilight obeyed. I truthfully haven't come up with a reason for Celestia to do that yet, but it's something I could see her doing in her 'enigmatic mentor' role.

SWAT Kats was awesome. I should probably try to find it somewhere so I can rewatch it. It was also a highlight of the evening when it came on.

Really any character you need to escort who can't protect themselves for even three seconds. Especially GTA characters seem to suck at this and I've often just shot them in the face to relieve some anger. The worst character I can think of, though, would have to be Tingle on one hand, and those horrifying long-necked chicken people from TP because for me they fuck up the entire world by simply existing.
-
Mine is Logician, INTP-A. I'm not sure how much I relate to the description they give of it, though. Then again, I never had much faith in these kinds of tests to begin with, so eh.

I might walk from my bedroom to the shower while naked, which is on the other side of my house, but generally I prefer wearing clothes. It's more comfortable to me.

I think EQG 5 will come out before the MLP movie, and that it will be the final part of the series. Since I believe Sunset will go back to Equestria because her presence is causing the two worlds to merge I think she might have a cameo in the movie as a pony, but I can't imagine her having a big role in it, sadly.
-
Though it's not much to go on, it seems like it's going to be a decent enough episode. I really hope it will be good considering Twilight's one of my favorite ponies.
-
Yeah, and while they're at it let them do it in the style of the new Lion King movie with realistic looking horses. In all honesty, though, it's much better to keep it 2D because 3D doesn't suit this world. Discord might pull it off as a joke, but aside from him they should stay away from it. Although, technically CGI means Computer Generated Imagery, and the series is made in Flash, so in a way it is actually CG. But it should definitely not go the 3D route.

This sums up exactly what I thought when I heard there was going to be a remake this morning. It wouldn't work in any way. The Lion King is my favorite movie of all time, and the thought of them remaking it in CGI just because they feel they should makes me sick. There isn't much I can add to your analysis, really. I'd go see it out of some perverse fascination, and because I'd like to see the 'madness of Scar' scene since I've never had the opportunity to see the musical, but I don't think it'll be any good. Nothing could outdo the original.
-
Truthfully, I feel like the writers are beginning to run out of ideas. While I enjoyed the movie, I can't help but feel they're going back to EQG 1, with villains that just don't really work. I'll just start at the beginning and see what I can do.
Twilight's nightmare sequence was pretty good. It set up an inner conflict that could have been put to great use in the movie. Sadly, this was the high point of that particular conflict.
The introduction of the camp was fairly well done, with some amusing moments like Luna being salty about Celestia's sun dial and even Brad realizing he's a moron.
Then...well, Timber Spruce didn't give me the same deep loathing as Brad did at first, but that's mainly because I'd be fine with SciTwi dating him or Brad, however things might turn out. Even so, as usual in these movies romance is handled by blushing and cringy remarks. Honestly, if they'd just try treating it as an extension of friendship they might even pull it off.
For most of the rest of the movie, there really isn't much I can say. Twilight is angsty, Sunset wants to help but it's not like she can do much, and the main plot just drags itself forward. One of the things that bothered me is that they immediately dismiss Gaia Everfree's story, even though it's pointed out that they've actually faced demons several times at this point. It's just handwaved, like so many other things. One thing I did like was the moment Sunset read Pinkie's mind, which looked like a massive LSD trip. Her expression and her reaction ("That explains so much.") were by far the best joke in the movie.
Later in the movie, Twilight and Sunset are locked up in the crystal cave by Gloriosa, who, surprise surprise, turns out to have been 'Gaia Everfree' all along. Her motivation for turning evil? Filthy Rich is taking over the camp and she needs money to prevent it. This is all fine, but aside from an obligatory cameo by Filthy Rich nothing is done to set up this reveal. I guess it could have been worse, though. She's still a better villain than Sunset was in the first EQG.
Her power comes from crystals that seem suspiciously like the Elements of Harmony, down to the fact that they seem to be in the same relative position as the Tree of Harmony in Equestria. Interestingly, there is a crystal for Sunset here. I'm not against this, mind, given that I already consider Sunset to be the seventh Element, but it's odd given that the original Elements don't have a seventh gem. Foreshadowing, or just a necessary difference to give Sunset a necklace?
From here...well, the girls all have magic powers that seem vaguely related to their pony Cutie Marks, so they try to fight Gloriosa off, but of course they fail without Twilight and Sunset. Twilight is still afraid that Midnight would come back to take over if she uses her power, and it's even hinted that she might be right in this...but when it comes down to it her friends immediately shatter her dark side and they defeat Gloriosa in short order.
What lesson can be drawn from this? Let's recap here: in EQG, Sunset knew nothing about friendship, so Twilight and her new friends were able to harness the real power of the Elements to defeat and reform her. In RR, it was Sunset regaining her confidence and standing up for her friends that allowed them to defeat the Sirens. In FG, Sunset mirrored Twilight from the first movie to teach SciTwi what friendship really meant, and that, combined with her love for Spike, allowed Midnight to be defeated. I guess LOE is supposed to mirror RR with SciTwi learning to have faith in her friends, but it doesn't come across that well.
Throughout the movie, SciTwi is afraid of what might happen if Midnight takes over. Sunset tries to reassure her, but to no avail. Then, when the need is most dire, it suddenly does work. The parallels with RR are obvious, yet RR handled it more subtly than LOE does. In RR, the viewer could see Sunset's emotions at certain moments, but she never said anything about them. Then, she and Twilight had their scene in the kitchen where they both confessed their fears to one another. They didn't elaborate on them, but they both seemed happier knowing they had someone who knew how they felt. In LOE, SciTwi's magic is accidentally revealed to Sunset and she makes Sunset promise not to reveal it to anyone...and that was it. Unlike the natural feeling the scene in RR had, this felt very awkward. And I get it, that's how they meant it, but it served no real purpose later. If this scene hadn't happened the ending would have played out the same way, whereas I feel that in RR, the scene between Sunset and Twilight in the kitchen did influence Sunset and helped her find the strength to fight the Sirens in the end.
So, Gloriosa is defeated, apologies are offered and a good time is had by all. The stinger shows a crack in the portal, possibly hinting at a Reflections-style event in the next movie. I honestly hope they go for that angle, because I think that EQG 5 will be the final movie, assuming the 2017 MLP movie ends FiM. Sunset would likely go back to Equestria because her presence contributes to the merging of both worlds, which is good for my shipping, but I digress.
All in all, this movie is enjoyable, but not very good. It's better than EQG, but not by a whole lot. I seriously hope they will step up their game for the next (last?) one.
DISCLAIMER: I'm a huge SunLight shipper so take my reverence of RR with a mountain of salt, please.

I'd go beyond that and say that pretty much everything in Equestria is guided by fate. We've seen just how important Rainbow Dash's Rainboom was in giving the Mane 6 their Cutie Marks, but the happy coincidences don't stop there. For instance, what are the odds that Nightmare Moon would return just as Twilight and her future friends are around? Over a span of a thousand years it seems unlikely that Celestia knew what date she'd have to banish her sister to get that result, or that Luna chose the moment she became evil just so this would work out the way it did.
The same thing goes for reforming Discord. If they hadn't done so, they would not have beaten Tirek...although Tirek's rise to power would also have been slowed without Discord. The Crystal Empire returned just in time for Cadance and Shining Armor to take up residence there, which they would not have done if Chrysalis had won.
Lastly, the very fact the Cutie Marks exist suggest that each pony has a well-defined destiny considering it's unlikely they'll go against their Cutie Marks, thus guaranteeing they'll live up to what it represents. Destiny magic seems like the kind of thing only wizards like Star Swirl the Bearded would screw around with. I still believe that it wasn't Celestia who made Twilight an alicorn, but that she just some kind of 'ascension interrupt' spell so she can talk to the pony who is ascending...and possibly stop it if that pony is not to her liking. Celestia has screwed with magic she shouldn't touch before, if the Reflections arc is anything to go by.

Honestly I've always figured they were named after traits their parents saw in them when they were born, either with or without a family name. That really doesn't make a whole lot of sense for some ponies at first glance, but I just handwave that by saying their parents might have been thinking a bit more artistically in some cases.
For instance, maybe foal Rainbow Dash had a knack for sprinting around, so her parents took her rainbow mane (which may or may not be a family trait/family name) and her love of running/flying around really fast, and that's why they gave her her name.
Pinkie could have been named Pinkamena because she alone had a bright color in her family. I'm guessing her middle name Diane was supposed to be her only one before she was born, but things changed a bit when they saw her.
Twilight's coat is purple and the twilight sky sometimes shares that color, not to mention her mother is also called Twilight so it might be a family name. Sparkle might come from her eyes being very bright as a foal or something.
Applejack may have been named after the color of the drink that shares her name, Fluttershy could have been very timid when she was very small and disliking flapping her wings but just fluttering them a bit, and Rarity's parents may have decided she was 'a rarity' and just gave her that name.
Obviously I'm just making guesses here, but from an in-universe standpoint it's the best I can come up with without correlating names and Cutie Marks, as doing so would imply that pony parents are aware of their children's talents as soon as they're born, which seems strange considering the weight of 'discovering one's Cutie Mark'.

I honestly think that the gems from LOE were meant to be an author's saving throw to FINALLY codify the magic and give it some rules (I.E., the magic comes from the gems like how the mane six have to have the EOH necklaces in the pony world to shoot the giant friendship laser).
Previously they were basically just pulling it out there ass and being like "magic is chaotic!", but they've probably realized that they CANNOT keep doing that all the time and so its best to just handwave the First three movies away as the magic being Chaotic and it settling down more and more into a concrete, orderly form which its in now.
That's certainly possible, although that would be the end of my headcanon, in which the necklaces of the Elements were just catalysts for the power inside themselves rather than the source, both explaining why they were useless when they were Discorded and why the Humane Five were able to use the power after only the crown was present.
Still, I could see this being the actual explanation they go with from the next movie onwards, where they'll probably retcon the previous movies to fit in with it.
-
I hope it will. Season 7 would be the final one, and the movie would wrap up G4. It would be the perfect ending to FiM, considering how long it's been going on.
-
There is, yeah. I can't do without it in the summer, considering I live in a top apartment so I'm right beneath the roof. On a warm day it'll get above 30 degrees Celsius inside.

Skyrim: It's unstable as hell, even on the latest patch. Some quests don't trigger properly and CTDs are frequent. Aside from that, some rather obvious choices for dialogs haven't been included, like telling Delphine and Esbern to go to hell when they tell you to kill Paarthurnax.
Any Assassin's Creed game: The stealth. Seriously, the mechanic is horrendous. Whether or not the target is visible isn't determined by the character's LOS, but the camera. Being detected fails the mission, despite the assassin's ability to easily murder half the country and thus leaving no witnesses. Failing sends you back to checkpoints, which are arbitrarily placed at best.
Any game: Mandatory puzzles that aren't difficult, merely padding. Nearly every game I play has these. Pull levers in the correct order, move blocks to the right place, light up tiles in a sequence...it's never hard, just annoying as all hell. Skyrim is a big offender here since pretty much every tomb has the same pillar-spinning puzzles. They get a pass on the claws because in-universe, they're meant to keep Draugr in, rather than keeping people out.

Cabin in the Woods is definitely one of them for me, especially the ending. I really didn't see that coming. The same goes for Shutter Island. My girlfriend told me going into the movie that I'd never see the twist coming, and she was right. Even when I was looking for things that were off, I was completely blindsided by the twist.
Bonus mention for the Sixth Sense. I was too young to actually be impressed by its twist when I first saw it, but when I rewatched it later I realized how well it was actually handled.

If I have to stay within realistic realms, the one who dies first. It doesn't matter who or which series, just the one who gets killed before everyone else. Maybe that farmer in DBZ.
If this is wish fulfillment, well...
- Ippo, Takamura, Sendo, Mashiba, Ricardo Martinez, Date Eiji, or really anyone from Hajime no Ippo. Those guys are just so badass and strong.
- Sesshoumaru from Inuyasha. He's probably the coolest anime character I know. And his sword Bakusaiga is OP as hell.
- Guts from Berserk. He's killed so many demons I've lost count.
- Speaking of counts, Alucard from Hellsing Ultimate. I'd like to be entirely immortal and incredibly powerful.
This list isn't exhaustive, but these were the ones I had in my mind most of all.

Super Smash Bros. is my favorite. I don't even care which one, but probably either Brawl or 4. I love the fast paced action and wide selection of characters, as well as the ability to pound some of my unfavorite characters into oblivion.
Soul Calibur II and IV are also favorites of mine, mainly because I have a thing for swords.
Lastly, I played DOA 2 to death. I think it's one of the few games I've ever gotten 100% completion on.
Guy with a plushie - reactions/thoughts?
in Merchandise
Honestly, it's the fedora that seals the deal for me. See, I like plushies too. I have a Rainbow Dash plushie and tons of non-MLP plushies, one of which has a Twitter account and is my mascot on tournaments. But when people start walking around with plushies and fedoras...they're either actual basement dwellers or taking the piss, and I don't know in what camp this guy belongs.
