I am playing Devils Advocate here. I do not endorse the Westboro Baptist Church. I just think that they have gotten an overly bad rap. Plus, I have a lawyer streak a mile wide. So here goes: The WBC has operated in a legal (albeit in poor taste) fashion. And for good reason: Fred Phelps was an attorney. In fact, during the 70's & 80's he used his legal skills to help blacks who faced discrimination. The legal behavior that the Phelps family has engaged in stands in stark contrast to the illegal behavior of many of those opposed to them. Their website has been hacked more times than can be counted. They have received death threats. They have been physically assaulted on the streets. In the 90's, a student from Liberty University through a homemade bomb on their property just feet from where a baby was sleeping. The WBC has done more for 1st Amenedment rights than most charitable organizations. They are keeping the freedom of speech alive in an age when it is under constant assault. They have committed the unforgiveable sin of the media age: the look bad. Their views are unpopular & they look bad publically when they share their views. But they are also a mirror. If they are guilty of preaching hate then look at the hate that has been offered to them. There's is verbal; the other side is both verbal and physical. Offering venom back is not making things better, it just makes those who do look more like the WBC. The more people engage in Ad Hominem with them it makes the WBC's message seem more right. Very few have listened to what they have to say and have given a well-though-out, calm rebuttal. If we dismiss the Phelps family as unloveable do we not then open the door for the same title being given to us (to you, to me)? Is it not in the spirit of MLP to at least try to love the members of the WBC? To my knowledge, this post is within the MLP forums rules. Please do not flame me or the WBC and get the thread locked down.

First, it is not going to happen. Second, regardless of one's feelings about gun control, a.22 pistol (especially .22 magnum) can be a formidable weapon at close range. Third, the hypocrisy of the crown in regards to gun control is astounding. Declassified documents reveal that the crown armed Protestant militias in Northern Ireland during the 1980's. So there are guns on the streets of Belfast (and probably elsewhere in the UK) that are illegal, both then and now, because the UK government put them there. But a law-abiding subject cannot own a .22.

Not to come off as crass but . . . when FiM came out and I saw the ponies (and even now) my mind thought: Stripper Ponies They are colorful with huge eyes and eyelashes. It is reminiscent of the wardrobe and make-up used for live theater. It has a quality that is very different from previous generations of MLP.

Night sky on the Hopi Indian Reservation. It is in BFN - never saw the stars like that before or since. -
In MLP, the characters can manipulate items even though the ponies lack a thumb. So almost any weapon humans have would work . . . except ponies do not ambulate upright. The pony would have to stand on two legs (stop) to use the weapon unless he/she was flying. While the chamfron they made was truly art - it is not that practical. If the equine using it was in a gallop the potential for neck injury is high. Then you face the huge problem man has faced w/ stabbing tools - getting stuck momentarily which can easily get you killed. Plus you have the issue of securing the chamfron to the equine. Too much side-to-side force and the thing slides off. I am thinking that in the MLP universe magical/psy weapons are the way to go.

A couple of times. I once got ambushed in Thailand. 2 Dudes were drunk and/or high. Got the better of the 2 guys until 1 of them went back to his bike & pulled a knife. That's when I ran. So I kinda did both fight and flight in one encounter.
