Rose tinted because you and others think the show is so damn special, and when people complain that it isn't, you think it just because "lost interest".

 

If the show was truly good, people wouldn't be saying that nearly as much.

See, this is where you make a huge and hypocritical mistake.

While you say, that we generalize the people who don't like the show, just "lose interest," you generalize us, by saying that we just have "rose tinted glasses."

At the end of the day, it's a matter of opinion and taste.

Maybe if the show had better writing, people wouldn't be saying that all the time. Take off your rose tinted glasses, the show is written for little girls with nothing intelligent or thought provoking about it. That's probably why people loose interest. 

Just because you don't like his opinion, dosen't mean he has "rose tinted glasses."

His opinion is as much worth as anybody elses.

Besides of the things Megas already said, these kinda things also cost time and money.

If they really do all these projects, together with the main show, they probably have to cut seasons short and maybe even go for cheap animation and cheap voice actors and that would kill the franchise in the long run.

Did we seriously need another Christmas episode? And one based on the most overused story of all time? DHX, I am disappoint. Such a waste of a musical episode.

 

I actually skipped the season 2 HWE episode on my first watch-through of the show, expecting that it would be like this one. But when I did finally watch it, I loved that it was an original story that expanded the lore of the show. But now here we are, with the overused story that doesn't expand the lore at all

 

It's quite ironic now that I think about it. Starlight was tired of hearing the founding of Equestria story over and over, so Twilight told her this one which was refreshing and new to her. Whereas I'm tired of this one, but the founding of Equestria story was refreshing and new to me

I keep listening to Seeds of the Past ... so much love for this song right now. I know everyone is likely focused on Luna Future's song, but I think SotP may rise to my personal top ten.

That piece actually moved tears to my eyes, no joke.

(First of all, sorry that i wasn't in the stream today. I was incredibly occupied throughout.)

This is the kind of Heartswarming eve episode, that i wished for, for almost 5 years, but damn was it worth the wait.

I was always a big fan of Christmas specials and my favorite christmas story was always the christmas carol and ever since the first heartswarming eve episode, i always wondered "why dosen't MLP have one?" Finally, my wish was fulfilled and it was fulfilled in a great manner.

First off, AJ, Pinkie and Luna as the ghosts, are casted perfectly. They all represent the original ghosts pretty well, while also keeping their personalities.

The songs where all phenomenal and that's what you need, for a great christmas special. You can laugh with it, you can cry with it, etc. and i think if you feel emotions during that songs, then it did it's job well. Of course, some might not like musicals, but i love them.

I also love those little breaks during Twis reading, especially when she made Pinkies voice, which was so much cuteness.

The Moral was also great. If you sit with your butt in the office for 12 hours all day and then go to sleep for your whole life, it will be over one day and you missed it. Also, i don't get what kinda implications some people complain about, because i never thought for one second, that this episode implied that working dosen't pay off. It just said that you need to relax.

I admit, my review is probably a bit bias, since i am a sucker for Christmas specials and movies. But this was the best episode this season and the best heartswarming episode. This is something, i can probably put in my collection, of great christmas classics that i can pop in during the holiday season.

Independence Day is such a Garbage Movie. It was like one of the biggest summer blockbusters of the 90s, eventhough it was filled with bland characters, lots of special effects (which look very outdated today) and american patriotism, that i totally despise. The only good thing about it, was Will Smith, because Will Smith is Will Smith.

Also there are at least 10 million Bronies in the world, Multiplied by average ticket prices right now, the film would easily make around $85 Million in the Box Office (Not counted the fair amount of Bronies that would see it a 2nd time depending on how good it is.). While that doesn't say much about outside the fanbase, in terms of the film itself, It'll very well make a very modest success on the Fandom alone. I know Bronies are extremely passionate about the source material, and I can tell at least 4/5th of the Fandom will see it when it comes out (Note: this is all depending on the Marketing)

As a german brony, i can tell you that probably most bronies outside of english speaking countries will not watch this. Not just because some of them have not enough self esteem to go there, but also because they are getting redubbed for their particular language. And i for one don't want to see that, because the german dub just kinda sucks. I think internationally, this movie won't do good.

Besides, Germany is filly funtasia country and nobody gives a damn here about MLP.

I hear a lot of older bronies say that 2011 and 2012 were the best years of the fandom. I can understand this as that's when it all started to blow up and exploded across the world. Also this is the time where the most famous fan content such as brony music and animations were made as well as popular fan fiction.

 

Being a new member of the fandom, I would like to hear the opinions of both new and older bronies on which years of bronydom have been the best or are they yet to come?

Hey there. Been in this Fandom since September 2011.

By the time Season 2 arrived, the Brony community was still kinda small, compared to today. But at the same time, we where also very creative. I remember Music Videos like this:

Though, where these times really better then today? I wouldn't really say so. I admit, i look at that time with fondness, because everything was so new and fresh and i thought about Pony 24/7. But nostalgia can blind somebody and i think there are still some very creative stuff out there.

What i can see is, that we have become an established fandom, with a big community and way bigger then almost 5 years ago since i started, so some might think that it's not as comfortable as it used to be.

They better come up with a really bucking good explanation for why Dash is suddenly a full Wonderbolt rather than a reserve member. And a really bucking good excuse for how she'll be able to stay with her friends. If she goes to the Wonderbolts full-time she'll have to be without Tank. And that worked out SO bucking well last time, didn't it?

Why do they need to explain here? The other 5 also have jobs and that didn't hinder them to be friends as of now.

Well...it looks bad. But we don't know what causes it.

For all we know, DHX tries to bait and switch us and want to make us growl in anger till saturday, only to come out with a masterpiece.

What means "Darker?" In what kinda combination? How should it be made, without being too much?

I for one don't need that and i think DHX won't go for that. Tanks for the memories was a clear indicator for me, because they wanted to kill Tank first, but he is just in hibernation.

Might be why I love Zootopia so much.

The regular season ends soon, but the Euros are just barely a month away. Who do you think is probably the most overrated team going into this tournament?

If you asked me a few years back, i would've probably said england. But they have some very good guys coming up now. I don't think it will be enough for a title, but they probably do the quarterfinal, maybe semifinal.

But for me, Portugal is given way too much credit. The team is relying too heavy on Christiano Ronaldo, who in my eyes is not worth as much, if he dosen't play with his guys from Real Madrid. Portugal has a problem with getting proper goal scorers for years now, since Luis Figo Retired. Guys like Helder Postiga, Hugo Almeida and Eder, are average to above average strikers. Guys like Nani, are also getting weaker as time goes by and some sort of class is missing in the team.

I don't mean to be sexist but it's unfortunately true that action will attract males the most. I will say this about females: they're WAY more open minded.

I think Hasbros big problem will also be, to sell this movie in Europe, especially to germany.

As a german, i can say that this is Filly Funtasia country and nobody gives a damn about FiM, because that show is a midweek morning cartoon, aimed for preschoolers here.

Besides, the german dub just sucks and that's also my reason why i won't see the movie in theaters and not because i am shy of masculinity

Hypnosis is not some mystical art, or some super power, it's our own brains susceptibility to the power of suggestion. You want to get someone to do something without them realizing you made them do it?

 

When someone is looking in your direction, either yawn or scratch yourself on the neck like you are getting an itch. Almost invariably the other person will mimic that action without even realizing they are doing it. 

 

Its essentially the same principle with hypnosis. Getting their mind into a state where they are more susceptible to suggestion is disturbingly easy. In fact, many cult leaders of the past use a specific speech pattern and facial expressions to lull people into such a state and make them more susceptible to what they have to say over time. Chanting and "affirmations" are another way to bring about this compliant feeling in people. You have to be consciously aware of and opposed to what they are doing to not get sucked in, because the more you hear it and the more relaxed you get with what they are saying the easier it is to get you under their whim. 

 

It all goes back to us being pack animals. Its like a beta submitting to an alpha and following that alpha's instructions. Its not mysticism, its just biology and psychology.

Would you rather MLP stay a slice of life show?

I always thought that the best MLP episodes where the Slice of Life stuff, combined with the character interactions.

I rather take 5 minutes of Twilight Sparkle, interacting with Rainbow Dash in Testing Testing 1, 2, 3, then 10 minutes of fighting ponies.

Well duh, they turned it into an action series rather than marketing MLP like it was a silly Nintendo franchise.

I don't know what you're trying to tell me.

But all i can say is, it's just my opinion. If you like it, have fun.
