Tell me about it. My dad is a total Marvel nerd, but he's proud of it, and he's starting to rub off on me. He answers pretty much every question I have about Marvel; he even pulls out some of the old movies and comics for me to look at and/or watch if I'm curious enough. I mean, he's even got a replica of this:
The thing is, though, nobody really looks back at all of the classics anymore. People forget about the originals, the classics, instead in favor of the newer movies and heroes (Guardians of the Galaxy, which I still haven't seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Not that there's anything wrong with them; Marvel does an excellent job with their movies. It's DC you've got to watch out for.
And something as big as the Marvel universe is one of the best things to get hung up on. Sure, there are going to be some nerds from any decade who overdo it with their favorite superhero *cough* my dad and Iron Man *cough*, but the fact that this generation is that bred into the world of superheroes that the last generation grew up with is simply astounding.
Like me. I love Marvel, and I've been reading up on the lore. And as awesome as all of the heroes are, my favorites will always be Galactus and the Celestials.
