  1. I have to go with girly ponies. They are feminine, but they aren't weak. I love that. Femininity is often associated with weak, and ponies prove that it's not. In fact, that's the lesson in "A Dog and Pony Show."

I typically prefer femininity anyways. I find feminine people to be more attractive, I prefer feminine ponies, feminine colors, feminine interests, etc. I personally think masculine stuff are boring.

  2. When I see little kids online, they are usually boys who pretend to be tough by being jerks (to say nicely.) So they would go out an insult bronies to look tougher. The little kids who watch the show are probably not online trying to pretend they are older, so it's hard to tell. I think bronies watch the show more than little girls, but I think little girls are more common than us. We can watch MLP whenever we want while little girls can't.

  3. It is one of her life goals - she has more than one, at least by my measure (being a complex and well-developed character and all that. If a character only has one goal or ambition that they focus on, then you could criticise them for being 2D.) I must confess to having been a bit disappointed that she didn't re-evaluate Canterlot society after:

Should she really still have wanted these ponies' praise and plaudits if that's not the type of pony she is? Being after their money is fair enough, but that's not the impression I got, given that she:

so why she still fawns after Canterlot society is a mystery to me, given that she seems just as happy and dedicated producing fashionable clothing for anypony ("fashion is her passion.") I stress that it doesn't make her a bad pony, simply that I don't identify or sympathise with one of her life goals, as a result of which I prefer characters with goals that I do identify or sympathise with.

Actually, I like Pinkie's goals - making everyponies' life happier. What I don't like is that she sometimes is quite the hedonist, where fun and parties are all that she seems to care about. My suspicion is that this is because when she is less relevant to the plot she becomes a more 2D character, and when that happens 'fun and parties' is all you get from her. Episodes where she plays a more central role usually give her a much better character.

I think you're an introvert, so you will never understand. Rarity is an extrovert. She prefers being around people rather than being alone. That isn't wrong. Of course, as an introvert, you can't relate to that aspect of Rarity. It's not uncommon for extroverts to want to be famous and popular. I am one of those people. You wouldn't understand, but I love being surrounded by people, just like Rarity does. (Though it's ponies in her case.)

  4. Rarity and Pinkie Pie are my least favourite as they have character traits and goals that I find dislikeable  and objectionable, but I certainly don't hate them (or even dislike them) by any stretch of the imagination. What gets me about Rarity is not that she does fashion work and whatnot (being a self-employed business owner is a very respectable position) but because she wants to be famous and popular, which is a life goal that I do not identify or sympathise with and I have little patience for. It doesn't make her a bad pony, but it does mean that I don't care whether she succeeds or not. Thankfully, she is a fairly well-rounded individual and does many good and worthwhile things, so it's not a big issue.

If Rarity cared so much about being famous and popular, she would have left her friends long ago.

  5. I don't like Twilight, but I will still defend her.

Twilight's friends had fun with Discord. Since Twilight wasn't there, she didn't understand what they did. They couldn't explain it. The only way she would understand is if she was there. Since she couldn't understand, she thought nothing fun actually happened (not uncommon) and figured that they were under a spell. It was something one wouldn't put past Discord anyways. Basically, she tried to figure out what was going on in the most logical way possible. Logical doesn't always mean correct, as seen in this episode. (we all do this. Our brains try to make sense of things that don't make sense all the time. It's basic psychology)

Twilight is a Princess, but she's still not perfect. Twilight and I actually share a lot of the same flaws, which is why I don't like her. (I know, that makes no sense, I don't like someone who struggles with the same things I struggle with.) She isn't terrible, though. Sometimes, she makes mistakes, and sometimes those mistakes are big. Sometimes, she may think she's doing the right thing and end up doing a terrible thing. She is a good princess. She is still new to the princess thing, so you can't expect her to be an amazing princess. I bet even Princess Celestia still learns lessons. We don't see much of Princess Celestia, so I don't really know. I believe that we never stop learning, though. A doctor will still learn about medicine, a writer will still learn about writing, a psychologist will still learn about the brain, even after they finished school and such. Twilight still has things to learn about friendship, even though she is no longer a student.

  6. Most Rarity haters seem to hate her for stupid or nonexistent reasons. For example, a lot of them say she's a snob, and a lot say she's ungenerous. If she was a snob, she would have chosen the Canterlot Elite and not associate with Ponyvillians. If she's not generous, she wouldn't work her rump off making dresses for her friends and remaking those dresses because her friends don't like them. That is just one of the many examples. They also think Rarity forces Spike to do what she wants. Some say she doesn't pay him (which is completely false.)

The reason I don't like most Rarity haters is because their hatred towards her is for reasons that don't even exist. It's like they want to hate her.

  7. When I saw the title, I thought you actually believed that and had to defend Rarity. Luckily, that isn't the case.

The Rarity haters I hate are the ones who wanted Rarity to be enslaved by the Diamond Dogs. (The ones who antagonize her in that episode.) There was on YouTuber who did that, and the comment section was filled with hate. He deserved it. He didn't really watch the episode, solely because it's a Rarity episode. He just had it playing. Then he complained that Rarity was complaining. If you're a blind reactor or blind commentator, watch the episode, even if it revolves around a pony you absolutely hate!

  8. Which store is doing that?

Also, I would implore that ALL Rarifans go to said store tomorrow and pay a few extra bucks for a slurpie if you are near one of the places doing this. The Element of Generosity after all!

7-11s in America. I don't know if all of them do it. The two on my town do these sorts of things.

  9. Rarity is disappointed.

There is a name your price slurpee day tomorrow (November 7) in America. 100% of the amount paid goes out to feed hungry people. People are taking advantage of this and paying extremely low prices or getting it for free if they can. They are missing the purpose.

I'm going to pay extra. It's sort of like giving back to those who helped me when I was younger and had to rely on food banks to get food.

  10. I hate to say this, but if there was a portal to Equestria, you would most likely become an earth pony. So that means most bronies wouldn't want to go. Luckily, I love Earth Ponies and know that they aren't inferior because they lack horns and wings. Earth Ponies aren't just boring ponies who long along magical ponies. They are also magical.

I would probably adapt pretty quickly. I would really hope I live in Ponyville. If I don't, I would try to go there.

  11. I used to think the cake meant she was 21, and told people that. Then one day someone told me about Word of God saying that the number of candles on the cake didn't actually mean anything.

That's true. If the show follows American laws, the ponies are at least 21. If they follow Canadian laws, they are at least 18. That's all I know. If they have their own laws, there's no saying what their age is.

  12. This will show if it will suck or not:

    1. Is there music?
      Yes: Go to 2
      No: Go to 3
    2. Is there a story?
      Yes: Go to 4
      No: It will suck
    3. Will it be so awesome that it would make up for the lack of music?
      Yes: Go to 4
      No: It will suck
    4. Will all of the Mane Six play a role in the story?
      Yes: Go to five
      No: It will suck
    5. Will the characters be in character?
Yes: The movie may be great
      No: The movie will suck.

It actually depends on a lot of things. I can't say if it will be good or not right now.

  13. Thinking about Rarity's cutie mark story in Cutie Mark Chronicles (S1 E 23).   It occurs to me, the timing doesn't add up.  She was making costumes for the play The Next Day.  Suddenly, her horn activates & drags her off!  According to her, it dragged her through miles of wilderness, up & down mountains to reach that rock.  IIRC (it's been awhile since I watched this) she showed day & night passing.  Even without that, How Was There Time?

Think about it.  She still has to get the stuff home & make the costumes.  Even if she pulled an all nighter (& would her parents LET her do that?), it couldn't possibly have been more than an hour or so each way, plausibly quite a lot less.

Rarity was certainly being a Drama Queen (She did that a lot in Season 1) & greatly exaggerating the hardship & trouble.  I would make a small bet the rock was in a neighborhood rock garden, possibly in her back yard

(Many people have told me that it occurs to them that Too Much occurs to me)

The think that made no sense to me was that it looked like days passed from what I remember. It is interesting that Rarity's magic knew which rock would break and led her there.

Oh my god, it's been far too long since I posted here. Seriously way too long. I'm so sorry Rarity!

Anyways, how are you guys? Does anyone remember me?

You look familiar, but I don't know where I know you from.

  15. Yes. I think so.

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna became princesses because they are alicorns and represent all types of pony. (So their species is why they became princesses.)

I am not sure why princess Cadance became a princess.

Princess Twilight showed that she worked hard to become a princess. She studied, she did her lessons, she showed that she understands friendship and has what it takes to be a princess.
