  1. so the question begs to be asked - how old are the characters?

If we go by the comics, Fluttershy is the oldest. If we don't, it's still safe to assume that she's the oldest. She was taller than the others. So either she had an early growth spurt, or she was the tallest. Rarity and Applejack were late getting their cutie marks, so I think that means they are on the older side. Rainbow Dash was the first in her class to get her cutie mark, so that means she was younger. I'd say she was the youngest. Pinkie is on the younger side, and she's a year younger than Fluttershy. So Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity are around the same age. I think Twilight and Pinkie Pie are the same age as well, and Rainbow is a year younger than them.

In Pinkie Pride, the cake said Rainbow is 21. Assuming that's true, their ages (As of Pinkie Pride) would be as followed:

    Fluttershy: 23

    Applejack: 23

    Rarity: 23

    Pinkie Pie: 22

    Twilight Sparkle: 22

    Rainbow Dash: 21

The maturity of the pony does not determine their age. I was going based on the show for the most part. Applejack and Rarity were both late getting their cutie marks, so that would put them at around the same age as Fluttershy with only months apart. Twilight and Pinkie Pie may have gotten theirs at the right time since there was no indication that they were late or early (that I can remember) so I think they are both around the same age. Rainbow was early, so that would put her as being the youngest. Fluttershy never said she was late, but I think she's the oldest. She is the oldest in the comics, at least. So Fluttershy was also late getting her cutie mark.

Remember, this is assuming that the candles represented Rainbow's age. This is a headcanon.

    How much time has passed?

From season 1 to season 4, it has been precisely a year. From Season 4 to now, it's more complicated. If the show is going in chronological order, then it has been at least a year since winter came twice. Maybe from season 4 to the end of season 5, it would have been another year and a half? So if it's Chronological order, I think there have been 2.5 years. Since I doubt it's in chronological order, it's hard to tell. It has been at least one year, that's for sure.

  2. I like Rarity, shes a pretty cool character     Definitely in my top three of the Mane 6.

The outer part of Rarity's mane and tail, her eyes, eye shadow, cutie mark, and magic are all cool. Her coat is neuteral, and I think the under part of her mane is warm.

  3. Ohhhhh... Sorry. :please: I think I need my morning coffee :D

I did origami back in art class a long while back. It is defiantly a tricky and difficult art to master. Watching videos and practicing on a daily basis certainly helps.

Personally though, I think drawing is easier. :)

I prefer drawing as is. I can appreciate other art forms, and I do (if they actually try and don't just spit on a canvas or anything like that.) But Origami, sculpting, anything where a mistake will ruin everything is not my thing.

That wasn't intended to be Rarity. Still, it does look a lot like her.

  5. Rarity and Sweetie Belle are looking great so far in my fan art I'm working on. :D I won't show you yet. I'm hoping to get done by December 25.

Speaking of Christmas, I get to spend more money on my family! They won't have to deal with boxes of candy this year! :D (the last several years, that was all I could afford.)

  6. I'm in a similar situation but as a furry rather than a brony. I love anthropomorphic animals and enjoy looking at the art of them. I also love shows or movies that have anthropomorphic animals. (My Little pony, for example.) I don't typically draw furry art (I suck at it) I don't have a furry name, a fur suit, or role play as a different animal (except pony. I do My Little Pony roleplays.) Overall, the only contribution I make as a furry is due to me being a brony. Other than that, I just like anthropomorphic animals, that's all. So I'm sure there are bronies who just watch the show and don't do all those brony things. I'm not one of them.

You just like the show, and that's fine. You don't have to buy plushies, go to conventions, create music, draw, have an OC, write fan fictions, or anything like that.

  7. I think Rarity is the biggest reason for Spike's inability to physically grow. Spike has a crush on Rarity, and as long as he has that crush, he wouldn't typically make decisions that she wouldn't like. He became greedy once, then Rarity scolded him. (She didn't know it was him, but that doesn't make a difference.) So if Rarity was gone for any reason, Spike may grow. But then there is also Twilight Sparkle. Spike sees Twilight as more of a motherly figure, so he wouldn't want to get on her bad side, either. So that would make it hard for him to physically grow. Get Rarity and Twilight out of the picture, then there's a chance he would grow. Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash may contribute to his lack of growing, but I think Rarity and Twilight do it the most.

Rarity represents the element of generosity. I don't think she would want anyone to be greedy. If dragons could grow without greed, I'm pretty sure Rarity wouldn't stop him. She doesn't want him to be greedy because it's wrong, not because he wouldn't be her little slave anymore. (he was never her slave in the first place.)

Twilight is more likely to not want Spike to grow, but that's because she may have the fear of losing him. I think Spike doesn't want to grow either for that same reason.

In fact, maybe Spike doesn't want to grow. He doesn't need to grow right now, either. He's still mentally a child. He's getting more mature, but he still has the mind of a child. It's best, right now, for him to remain the way he is. I doubt Spike would want to leave his friends. He prefers ponies to dragons. He also didn't like himself when he grew to a giant dragon.

So my final answer is: Rarity and Twilight are the ones who prevent Spike from growing the most, and I don't think Spike wants to be a big dragon.

  8. Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well!

I've found some art of Rarity royalty and now I really want her to become an alicorn princess! :D :D

She does deserve it after all. :grin2:

Princess Platinum was a unicorn. Besides, the wings would just get in the way of her fabulous body.

  9. Another day in the Rarity Fanclub! :D

Just found some more art of the Queen of Generosity for you all.

    Enjoy! :please:

(All credit goes to the artists who did these!)

She's also the queen of making me happy when I have a bad day. (along with Pinkie Pie, but this is not the Pinkie Pie fan club)

  10. Well, he's not really a normal physical form is he? He's kinda like a ghost....thing...So I'm guessing he must be pretty powerful.

He got turned into shadow when he was defeated. So when he enslaved the Crystal Empire, he wasn't in a ghost-like shadow form.

  11. Google Translate of the Art of the Dress without the reprise. (I am still early in my lessons. I know 22% French according to Dulingo. That's not important, though. Just know that it is most likely off)

Point by point, to assemble all good
Carefully cut out the pattern piece by piece
    Beware the cut is perfect
    Choose colors wisely
    Repeat measurements in seconds
Be careful that the pieces fit
    It is the Twilight dress!

Stroke by stroke, to treat the details
Mesh by mesh, and add as accessories?
    More sophisticated or more garish?
Although it's not over her teacup
    How would she be wearing?
    Know your affinities
    Applejack is the habit!

It's not complicated to Pinkie Pie is pink
Fluttershy lightness, mixing everything only good quality
You do not like my idea?

    Delightful, or sassy?
What to choose ? Is it not appealing to die?
Has to be beautiful from head to foot
A little magic and you win
Even if it goes up on the sides, it will not bother him
It is the habit of Rainbow Dash!

Piece by piece, tone on tone, the hindquarters, shoulder, hip
Point by point, compressed, stroke by stroke, method
This is all that the art of fashion!

  12. Found this on fanpop. Didn't say who made it

    So cute <3

The signature, which I can't quite make out (I can't read cursive) is between her tail and leg.

  13. Maybe it would be better to show the same character in both drawings being attracted to ponies of opposite genders. Let's say Twilight and Trixie, and Twilight and a male pony you ship with her.

  14. Sounds weird coming from such a Rarity fan, but I guess it's true.

My own thought on the matter is either her or Fluttershy. Even though the latter is very popular in the fandom, I just find the writers are really limiting her character growth. She has no future ambitions to strive for, and the central trait of her character is her shyness which annoys me as she can't grow like that. Rarity from a sensical standpoint, because she can be busier with her fashion career.

Rarity's dreams is one of the reasons she is most likely to leave. Fluttershy would have no reason to leave. Not only is she popular in the fandom, there is no in-show reason to have her leave. Rarity may have to focus on her business more and can't socialize. That would either put her as a side character who appears on occasion or have her written out completely. I would not want Rarity to leave. I would probably no longer watch the show. Rarity is the biggest reason I watch it. I would go to Littlest Pet Shop where a fashionista and diva like Zoe is still a protagonist.

  15. Cartoon Network has lame commercials.

    I don't get Discovery Family.

As long as Cartoon Network has no control over what is in the shows, I would be fine with it. I just have to pause at the beginning of each episode, wait, then watch it and skip the commercials.

Since I don't think the ability to pause and fast forward or rewind when watching TV, I don't think it would be great for most people.

So keep it on Discovery Family. I will just watch it on YouTube as long as I get there before Hasbro does.
