Anyone that knows anything about LOTR knows that this is not LOTR. It's bootleg. One can't have LOTR without its own lore.
Something even the normies can understand:
SpoilerP.S: You see, this is why Lovecraft is so awesome. You can pick up that public domain and slam the socialist so hard that it flies out of the property along its shit tastes. There is no mortal soul that can C&D our old gods and their horrific spawn. No matter how many woke takes you make, no matter how much you screech and moan, a damn Nick Cage movie will still be better. Perhaps the best thing for Tolkien at this point would be to cast his work into the public domain.

Sticking slice of life into that Californian trashcan for 3D to be adventure is a sacrifice I'm willing to embrace. However, that is not how these things work. History teaches that 2D will be 50 IQ trash along the lines of Teen Titans GO, and 3D is gonna be one big tea party toy commercial.

I hope you’ll be able to get her eventually. Is she a pretty good character? I’ve not talked to anyone that’s currently using her. I feel like everyone I know is pretty much running the same teams lol
I pair her with Eula and Razor. Still need to get her to C6 tho which is only a matter of time. When C6, she becomes very good if not even the best support for physical damage, especially when combined with off-field hydro. She's also great at closing gaps.
Of course, you can also use her in melt comp with guys like Diluc. Not my style.

I did issue a complaint that Raiden is a haughty bitch who wouldn't know eternity if it hit her in the face, and they acknowledged that she's not the sharpest katana in the armory through not only Yae Miko but also through her sister as well.
A theory: Makoto went to Khaenri'ah without Ei not to fight but to save humans from the wrath of gods. Her memory's philosophy is not in accord with the Heavenly Principles, and she has created the Sacred Sakura seed to be free of them. Past Ei, on the other appendage, was like the Raiden Shogun. Now, what if Makoto wasn't killed by Khaenri'ah forces but by another god for trying to stop to the conflict? Also, why do Raiden and Shogun have an electro symbol on their backs? Is this puppet alchemy or some divine mark?
Enkanomiya is also slightly better now that it has some more corals and strangeness. Too bad it's just an event, and the environment still sucks compared to shit that resides within my mind. Points for trying, I guess.
The magic system is dubious. You have elemental, void and mortal realms, but then you have Abyss employing elemental magic as everyone else. Given that this is Mihoyo, the explanation could be very simple. Void energy is Honkai energy, and as such it takes any form as long as its purpose remains the same. This is the conceptual erosion, the force of balancing, the Big Snap, the Final Judgment. Its pure form is liquid starry sky. It is plausible that the Heavenly Principles are Principles of the Void. All things must end. All things must die. Like in Honkai Impact, the people of the bygone age might have weaponized void energy against itself.

I'm currently using her in a Morgana comp. In fact, the only standard 5-star I haven't used in the Abyss is Diluc. The system doesn't know how to dab on my account.

The movie doesn't explain why the weather works without magic. But it does show technology. And with technology, magic is not needed. You can still move the sun, moon, and change weather, with gadgets and smart phones.
And you just need a civilization type II on Kardashev scale to do it

Budget happened. And marketing. But I'm sure they'll find a suitable explanation one can convey in a throwaway sentence.

I never pay too much attention of genshin streamer since I feel the game only does more for them due to favoritism. After all, streamers is like a walking ad for them.
It's a habit. They are the canary in the coal mine for this and that.
Anyhow, yes, Diluc is not that bad, but he's better with Rosaria than Ganyu. The Nun can practically have her ulti up 24/7 with minimal investment in ER, and Diluc is similar in that regard. I'm not sure Ganyu can keep up with rotations.

Now here's some Alex Jones level shit: I have the luck of a Twitch streamer yet I'm F2P. There is a chance that rolling more decreases your probability. The more you roll, the more you'll want to roll if you don't get what you want, and the house wins. The system might detect a string of rolls, but if those rolls are separated by considerable amount of time like they would be in a F2P account the probability remains constant. Just don't try counting rolls of streamers. The urban legend is that those rolls are weighted. Given from where the company hails, I wouldn't put it past them.

Yeah, I think so too. For now it "just works", so they see no reason to change that. To be honest I don't know about the insane endgame with cosmetic rewards. There are some in the shop and whalers most likely already are buying all availalble cosmetics whatsoever. For now all a normal player can't manage to get in this fantastic end-game content is some primos - a less than a single wish (100 primos) per month in my case. Not a big deal. I think I prefer it this way than not being able to obtain something unique & worthwhile. If they are willing to invest thousand of dollars just to squeeze these last 50 primos, good for them, fair for me.
That's something I'd do for the Twitch "MLG" crowd. They want a spectacle. They'd get a spectacle. In truth, that's just another psychological hook in the whale's lard. Another wound for the smaller things to nimble on so that they too may get infected by the whale's desires.
QuoteAaaaaand wishes.... I had around 19000 primogems, 17 fates and 18 pulls made towards pity - I dumped everything I had for Ganyu banner hoping to get her twice (to get her and c1 her) and... I have mixed feelings...
Done and done. 4 times 50/50. 4 times the banner character. What can I say, ghasts and goats are under my jurisdiction.

I would assumed we might get one weekly boss in Enkanomiya, most likely another Harbinger. Also Dain is going to make an return in the next archon quest. Speaking of Harbinger, Scaramouche- I did saw a leak of the new weekly boss which is Raidan. But I do not believe it's Raidan herself. If you saw her second stage she have puppets arms. It's most likely a puppet that we're going against not Raidan. Now it may sound stupid already, like how on earth did Raidan failed to keep her own puppet on a leash, well maybe it's Scaramouche? My guess is we're going against a puppet that is being controlled by Scaramouche himself. Also there's going to be 6 (freakin) phases with a total of 1M HP. The game didn't reveled us all 6 phases, but I assumed the last phase, Scaramouche might reveled himself as a puppet master. I could be wrong and skeptical about this since it may be too soon for another Harbinger weekly boss(?). Overall, I can tell the new weekly boss is gonna be a huge pain in a ass. Because you have to be quick to clear a stage, otherwise if you failed, you gonna have to start all over.
Playable paimon, pffft that would be the day.
Paimon is a Herrscher and so is Traveler, you'll see
She's jumping around like a monkey on crack and has an instakill mechanic. Interesting. But does this mean we'll be killing off another Harbinger. No skin off of my back. Maybe this is just the battle doll Ei wore during the Archon War.

Yeah, it's always that something, although it's hardly anything original most of the time. Majority of events are pretty much boring abyss clones and they started recycling these lately. I did complete the potion event without any troubles, buuuuut I can't say I found it to be entertaining, because at the end of the day, it's just an abyss clone with equally terrible challenges with basic rewards.
The hide and seek one, I actually really like. It's my most favorite event by far (gameplay-wise). I generally like Prop Hunt, so having it here is very nice, although in my opinion they should just permanently include it as a feature/gamemode, with weekly rewards perhaps, not as an event. I used to play Prop Hunt in Garry's mod with my siblings for a while, but now there's that problem my sisters are PS players, while me and my brother prefer and have PC only. Having Prop Hunt in Genshin that supports cross-platform is a great deal in my opinion (I don't know any good prop hunt games that would have this atm) and they totally should keep it and advertise the game with it, I'm sure it could attract more players. This is, by far, literally the ONLY thing, that makes an actual use of multiplayer feature. Personally I'm having fun with it, but I can see why it can be boring to some.
Yeah, the main storyline is a Kingdom-Hearts-grade mess I refuse to follow.
I absolutely love all the quests that focus on specific characters and/or places whatsoever, but the "finding sibling" and those abyss boys.. I already lost interest. I'm so confused, that I don't even dig into this. I love worldbuilding and events happening there, but really dislike the "main" plot. For me it started going downhill when the MC was asked about the past and you had to click something like "I remember..." --- but I actually didn't know what the hay they were talking about and there weren't any flashbacks shown to introduce me to something I'm supposed to remember.
Literally MC you control knows something you have no idea about and they make you say something you can't agree with. It was on the quest with Dainsleif iirc. I wonder, because the storyline goes sooooooooooooooo slow, maybe I just forgot or missed something.. Well in general they talk a LOT about things I have no idea about, it's a little bit irritating. Everything is kept as a mystery, that isn't even interesting and I already got bored of that. The very beginning itself is extremely vague - traveling through different worlds? randomly bumping into a lady (that just happened to be waiting ages in that exact spot or????) that turns everything to poop? Kinda a wonky base to start with tbh. I legit don't care about finding the sibling anymore lol, I prefer interaction with the world of teyvat itself.
Thanks
My pity is at 18, so the worst outcome would be spending everything just to get Ganyu.
But the upcoming events will leave me some spare wishes even if that happens, but there will be that 50/50 again, so I don't feel safe about that
, not with my epic luck.
The problem with the story is that it is told through Easter eggs only someone who knows a thing or two about religion and various mythologies would follow. That is not because it's some big brain Rick & Morty crap but because there is no story at all, just Easter eggs for you to pick up. To sum it up: "The Traveler just wants to go home" as if written by Night Shyamalan. I suspect it will continue to be like this until we meet Tsaritsa, unless we get our Traveler stuff back before that or Abyss actually becomes relevant enough to produce an army worthy of Mordor. It could happen, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
P.S: I have that super wow 5 star bow, but for it to truly be wow I need Cocogoat. The problem is that I evaded 50/50 Qiqi for 3 times in a row. I'll need to summon with Hu Tao to scare her.

I just did the abyss. It wasn't as bad as I thought it's going to be. I still got 9-9-9-6 (F12: 2* - 2* - 2*), so I guess it's pretty much equally bad as it was, as at least my performance didn't drop.
Mine did fall back to 30 stars that is my average. Will have to git gud again but I kinda don't wanna right now. I spent many days scouring through code of some failed RTS game in order to figure out how to make it better, so I'll have to "speedrun" the hide & seek event first

Yeah, the time is always the issue, not that the enemies are too hard or anything.
Woo, they moved them back to F12? Wonderful, I cannot wait to enjoy this majestic content. If I had to be honest, this is what makes me NOT want to support this game. I'd buy few things, but I always come to conclusion, that I don't need anything, because I hardly enjoy the game anyway. All there is is extremely repetitive and unsatisfying grinding covered in obnoxious challenges. I come and exit after 5 minutes and if there's anything more than that, it's always some barely rewarding repetitive garbage going on, so why would I invest money into something like this. Paying thousands of dollars in hopes to finally be able to get few more primos worth very little from the abyss? That's literally the only benefit. Obviously it's designed for content creators, streamers and their simps, who can flex in social media, because if one plays for just themselves - for real gameplay part of the game, one can nicely go through the storyline without paying a single cent.
What is really frustrating in all of this is the great potential, that is being wasted so hard. This easily could be a truly epic game, but MHY deliberately wants to keep it as garbage. And those cringy streamers give MHY no reason to change that on top of that... Why MHY should care if it just stonks as it is...
Things may get a little better once the game simmers down, but for now this is it. All in all, F2P or low investment is the best option. I might be having trouble with cancer enemies but whales are the ones who have thrown insane amounts of cash into the game just to win everything by clicking Q three times in a row. They have nothing to do in a game they invested so much into. That's sad, no copium. That's why I'd like to see some insane endgame option for cosmetic rewards.

And that's what I'm aiming for, doing a classic, which is pairing her mainly with Xingqiu (a name I always have to google first to get it written right lmao). Trying to stack HP/EM/Crits as much as I can.
True, that was an inconvenience, but they don't stack it that hard, so it was manageable. I still picked her and as far as healing went, there was only Diona with her, but she was able to heal herself with bursts, while everyone else were the ones stuck at low HP.
The potion event's last floor though... This debuff stacked like crazy and you didn't even have to get hit and it was unbearable. This is the definition of fun for MHY I guess. Thankfully they removed this disorder from the abyss, because holy balls.
Healing is not that much of an issue than the stalling movements. You need a ranged character for large hounds in order to kill them in time since they woosh all over the place.

I haven't touched the new abyss yet, but ... I suspected this cancer will get even worse, so why doesn't that surprise me...
I hope they didn't throw that boss to F12, did they? Either way yeah, speaking of the dumbest possible choices for enemies in the abyss...
- Flying all over the place to waste as much time as possible? Check!
- Dodging bursts because their animation takes forever? Check!
- Immunity during unnecessary transformations / phase changes while the timer is still counting? CHECK!
That sucks indeed. This prop hunt actually offers an enjoyable multiplayer experience, unlike literally everything else in this game, and they are going to remove it. When they manage to add something enjoyable for ONCE, they call it an event and remove it. Every other garbage no one likes? Keep it and make it worse with each update, that's how MHY works.
Thunder Manifestation aside, floor 12 now has Perpetual Array, two Heralds, and Kenki. They went all in with the cancer. I had to use Raiden International. I suppose this is good game design from their perspective. The company wants frustrated players so that they pay money and do big damage numbers just like Twitch streamers.

I finally got down the whole world quest- man did not expect it to take forever. I agree the creatures there was a huge disappointment. Sure Enkan is shared with the abyss so we f course we would be getting the same enemies. But I was hoping for more sea monsters instead of the one we fought as the new boss battle. I do have a hunch that these “gods”, are more of a universal being than some supernatural being. Since this place does give out a “alien” vibe with some advance techs. I do wonder what lector means about Paimon when he said that she might betray the traveler. I have a funny thought that what if she was celestria all this time.
the place overall I do like though. I like how it’s have a undersea on theme with some old European touch to it. The place honestly does make me sick a bit but I overall like it.
This area does give me bit of either dark soul or blood borne vibe. I forgot what place it was but this is closest comparison I can get
i love the tower though!
The tower is K. I still think that we'll get another weekly boss in Inazuma that will be located in Enkanomiya. It would be fun if Traveler would come face to face with a dead god whose spirit endured in darkness. Those things are probably not tied by oaths and principles, but by hatred of those who banished them. Though there are some leaks that say Raiden will be the second boss. Meh, unless the price of victory is the truth about the past. She may be a dumbass, but she does tend to put her personal principles before the heavenly ones. If any god besides Tsaritsa would spill the beans, it would be her.
I do believe that a scholarly member of the Abyss would recognize the symbols of their oldest enemy. Perhaps Celestia the place also has Celestia the goddess. Inb4 Paimon becomes a 5 star.

Atk for her isn't really needed indeed, as she has very low base atk anyway. It all comes from HP and thankfully I managed to get the staff of homa, which alone bumped her atk by 600+ comparing to previous f2p weapon she had. I still can't get the timepiece with hp% for some reason, and that would synergy with weapon even better, so I think I'll disagree on "she doesn't need homa" part, as that weapon alone makes a huge difference.
Every single point of damage counts, so not relying on low hp is acceptable in overworld, but not in the abyss and some events with tanky enemies, where time is precious.
I don't have c on her yet, so i kinda can't spam her charged attack that fast, which is really underwhelming.
She'd be better with Homa and a vape/melt comp, but EM is as far as F2P can take it with the weapons at our disposal. Besides, Hu was not the best in that Abyss due to the hounds. I gitted gud and went from 29 to 32 stars (2-2-1 in 12 floor) with Barbara as Poor Man's Kokomi.
On 2022-01-12 at 9:29 PM, Rikifive said:Yeah, it kinda is like this. PoE in a nutshell, at one moment you are shielded and have full hp, the next moment you're dead and you might even not notice what killed you.
I always put Zhong on maguu kenki boys, and with little care it is doable, otherwise it's plain circus, unless you indeed setup a party that can spam bursts often. This time I got 6 stars on f12 and I don't think I'll ever get all of them there, because it's true, the time limit is ridiculous. On easy floors you have 5 minutes, and on f12 they only give you three, while also putting the dumbest possible enemies that do nothing but run around to waste your time (these spectres, wolves and other crap). F12 isn't actually hard, it's just plain dumb by design.
All that said, the new Abyss is literally cancer. Thunder Manifestation is too fast and has too many invulnerability instances. The hounds were bad, but that thing is an F U to the entire section of the community that does not have a whale account.
On 2022-01-12 at 9:29 PM, Rikifive said:I'm also somewhat trying to measure it myself, but in the end it's still extremely vague. It's as crappy as if there were no hp bars at all. Zhongli's shield can sustain more damage than some of the characters at full HP (esp squishy Klee), so sometimes I'd rather have a shield bar than hp bar.
All coop in this game is some random dudes wanting to join just to steal your world's resources and leave. And mhy even embrace that by literally making achievements for that. I I'll leave that without further comments...
But yeah, something like this would be cool.
And there they go with primogem rewards for hide and seek. I did say that they should bring it back, but not as a limited event with valuable rewards linked to it. That sucks.

So ... Enkanomiya. As a deep sea connoisseur, I'm not that impressed with its design. Way too terrestrial. Plants in darkness is one of my biggest pet peewees. Give me giant shrooms, tube worms, clams and octocorals feeding on elemental energies, sinister things swimming in the mist. We should have felt like being deep under water in the forgotten eldritch depths. The whole Greek underworld theme felt as an afterthought, though the implied parallel with the mythological eras of man were nice and will probably become an increasingly important factor in the story. And if Enkanomiya and Khaenri'ah represent the Silver age of man, then the "Kingdom in Heaven" represents the Golden age. It is implied that one of the shades in Enkanomiya recognized the Traveler's attire as they stated that they haven't seen it in a long time. That gives credence to the theory that Aether and Lumine come from that place in heaven and that their memories as travelers have some big holes. Gods themselves could also be aliens as there seems to be an age before their arrival. There is a reference to a battle with the primordial dragon gods before the fall of heaven, so the gods that turned everything to shit could have came as the second wave. And last but not least, Abyss Lector warned us about Paimon, and she cannot be read by a fortune teller same as Venti.

Yeah good point, Scaramouche is technically a failed puppet which the technology Raidan used are from the Khaneriah. It would make sense for him to have a mark too.
Also Alice, she’s definitely in a cahoots with the alchemist and I think maybe she’s an elf so that could explain your concerns. I do have feeling about Alice not being “perfect” mother Klee thought she is either. The last event we did I feel it was more of an act. Maybe she does love Klee but Albendo was there. Even though he doesn’t have to. So I was guessing he was searching for Alice.
Keaya is the only closet source we have since Dain left us hanging. I kinda wish Keaya would’ve been in the quest instead of Amber so maybe we can gain more information regrading with the main lore.
The other option is that Alice is a traveler like Aether and Lumine, just from elsewhere, and her goal is similar to our own.
I'm a bit bothered why Traveler never asked Kaeya about his eye after encountering Dain. Come on, even Paimon would notice. Speaking of Paimon, my current theory is that she is to the Unknown God what Guoba is to God of the Stove. Something caused her to get reduced into the little flying mascot. The whole Guoba story was quite a Chekhov's gun.

Genshin Impact
in Media Discussion
They did manage to portray Ei in a more sympathetic light. Little goddess got the sads. At least she wasn't led astray by envy or inability to send letters, but by grief. Too bad she doesn't know anything about what happened in Khaenri'ah. Guess we'll need to bribe Venti.
