Do all people get an invitation before they become moderators? Because I've heard that some people just became it without them even knowing it.

 

As far as I'm aware a member of the staff will contact a member, and the member can then accept or reject the position. Nothing is spontaneous.

You shouldn't apologize for having a different opinion about the xbox, but you should definitely apologize for lying and breaking a promise. It's a breach of trust. Also I found the part where your dad tried to bribe you amusing. From their perspective, it is probably very serious and so they resort to desperate measures like that. Rank 4 + other numbers are the Global mods, then the sectional mods. Again, there are major losses, from both the global mods and sectional mods pool. As a result, most sectional mods are promoted to global mods to fill the gap, and currently there are only 1-2 sectional mods left.

Next are the community stewards, but they have no power, and are just fanboy/girl magnets distinguished members of the community.
