Because of Warhammer 40k (explained)
So yeah 40k is how I became a Brony. I shall explain! I enjoy playing several tabletop miniature games, and especially the converting aspect of the hobby. I knew several of the folks competing in Adepticon 2015 (march) and talked with them about 40k, this led into recommendations of a couple of other tabletop games including Firestorm armada and Malifaux. I liked them and bought into each game system. From here I needed to work with the miniatures and paint them, so began watching a range of TV series as I did so.
After exhausting a large range of series including Adventure Time, Teen Titans Go, Avatar and a number of films. I still had miniatures to assemble and no programs to watch. I decided to try MLP out more to see what all the fuss was about, and I became an instant fan! However it has been too darn compelling and I still have not finished my miniatures!
Other than watching loads of films and series, my main hobby is PC gaming. I have a huge library of games and play far more than I should! So if you have a query about a game, there is a good chance I have heard of it, if not own and play it!
In terms of pony related stuff? I am a real newbie brony, so there is the entire world out there for me to explore! Goodness knows where to start!
