I keep a semi-active Twitter, but for the most part I don't interact with folks there either since most of what my Twitter does is let me know about space stuff like ISS missions and such.

You can use Twitter that was too if you don't mind doing a bit of spamming and coming across like some old Burma Shave billboards from the '50s. :3

No one comes to mind when I think of people who may do such things. That said I hadn't even considered doing that. Statuses seemed kinda like they were intended for friends or managing a brief description of yourself. That said, just thinking through the few statuses I've seen, I think that may not be the case. From your implication, they're really more like prompts for discussion or notices of state changes (like online/offline notifications.)

Which is to say I still need to explore more and work to find my place in all of this. Regardless, thanks a ton for the insight!

I have. I haven't had the patience recently to really sit down and do things right, so all I've got are big piles of doodles. ^^;

You're not gonna cover that gap without practice right? So make lots of what you think is mediocre art. Learn to see all the flaws and every place where it just looks funny. Study how to correct those issues. Look though lots of other art. Think about why you like it, and practice getting it into your art. With time you'll connect the dots and before you realize it you'll be making the kind of art other people study when they're get started. :3

The only way to stop being a beginner is to do the thing! So beginner yesterday, not so much of a beginner tomorrow.

As is always the case (especially so in customer facing jobs,) I like some parts of it and hate others, but the fact that it pays the bills and buys some fun toys often offsets my complaints.
