  1. A pretty good villain with a meh motivation.

Too bad she had to go the cliche route and get redeemed.

And this is what kills it for me. Honestly....I had no troubles with her reformation however,.....oh God I cant believe I'm saying this...on God:

Starlight's Reformation was faster and dumber than DT's and Sunset's COMBINED.

She hasn't been redeemed yet though...only supposedly reformed. A redemption is something more like Sunset in RainbowRocks and Discord throughout the series after he was reformed. DT and Starlight has barely shown any sort of redeemable action.

As Lily said....it would have been great if those in the village would be wary of her and then gradually trust her again. Instead...they make a "hmmm" face and jump to give her hugs. No....just no.

And it's because of things like this why I find it bizarre why SOME antagonists and villains are so easily forgivable than others when they shouldn't be which was something I tried to point out in another discussion.

Starlight is a great villain because of her mental instability by believing what she does is justified due to a minor (or major for some people) event in her childhood. To think similar stories like this are what makes real life criminals today.

Though I think people confuse her motives with certain actions. Starlight did not try to change the future because of losing her friend....it was because her "escape" was taken away. In other words, her village she had built based on a philosophy she strongly stood by was derailed and casted aside as others discovered she was wrong. It was because of this she changed time. Regardless....yeah it all goes back to losing a friend....or more so losing CONTACT because they could have easily remained friends had she at least TRIED to keep in contact.

  2. As some of you may know, I've been a firm believer of Starlight being a sinister villain due to the fact she was willing to turn Equestria to sh*t because her escape was taken away. Countless times I've stressed how weak the origin of her anger came from (losing a childhood friend) and it's because of how mentally and emotionally unstable she is that makes her scary in a way if you're the type to have a mindset of "people like this really DOES exist"

Lily Peer recently made a video about Starlight as a villain and why MOST OF EVERYTHING she says is indeed correct, I still can't shake the fact of what she's capable of despite being incompetent with a flawed philosophy.

I'm a follower of Lily....both agreeing and disagreeing with what is said but recently agreeing with how she pointed out how terrible "Crusaders of the Lost Mark" was and now this.

So with watching that, does it changes your opinion on Starlight as a villain or no? For me....no. Since over half of what was said I was already aware of. But she's still dangerous even if she's boring

  3. You've taken separate incidents made by different people, and lumped them all into one collective mentality labelled "bronies". Yes, some people who are also bronies are hypocrites. Yes, some people who are also bronies are also bad people in general. But asking "are bronies hypocritical" is a senseless question. It'd be like asking the same question but replacing 'bronies' with '[gender], [race], [religion], etc'. Some are, some aren't.

Not honestly sure why many bronies would even be offended by this. If the title asks "Are bronies hypocritical" it doesn't mean that they are accusing every brony. If you don't fall under the category of those examples, I don't think it makes sense to assume they mean every brony including you or me. I wouldn't jump to accusing what a person's intentions are behind how a title is worded.

Whenever someone says the phrase "hypocritical people" that doesn't mean they are referring to the entire human race. Or if someone asks "Are cops bad" someone will simply answer with "well some are and some aren't" without calling it a senseless question. I'm pretty sure we all know everyone no matter if they are called a brony,Christian,etc...can be hypocritical. In this case I think they are focused more on the brony community which was why the term was used?

Anyways, to answer your question. Yes there are some hypocritical bronies. Personally, I will admit to hypocricy with certain things but I couldn't tell you exactly what being I do try to keep an open mind about everything. But generally? No I am not. Can't speak for the others.

  4. While you do make fair points, I'll have to disagree with Discord being a bad villain. I personally find him.more appealing as a reformed trickster but that does not mean he was ever bad a villain.

His pros outweigh the cons....because he was able to accomplish something no other villain within the s ties has done: break up the mane six and render the elements useless. In a way, he's like Sombra when it comes to cunning....able to take extra precautions to make sure a plan fails. Remember, Discord caused the everfree forest to go nuts because he knew he'd be defeated and made sure to cause trouble in the future. Its only small details they fail.to consider which leads to their epic failure such as Sombra not counting Spike and Discord not counting the tree of harmony's strength during the time he planted those seeds.

Discord managed to emotionally BREAK the mane six which is more evil.in itself. Some would agree that's worse than physical pain or world domination. He succeeds in a way....his only downfall is the fact he celebrates victory too soon or procrastinates with completing his evil deeds.

Also, without Discord, Tirek never would have managed to grow so powerful, it was with his help Tirek gained so much power so quickly

  5. Doesn't bother me at all how little one character has gotten over the other. Fluttershy still manages to top the charts as the most developed this season despite being the less seen.

What is amusing is how such a topic about Who didn't get enough screen time or got too much is causing such an uproar of arguments. Half the time, these discussions are better than tumblr and facebook comments.

  6. I have no problem with it, as I understand that's the show's initiative I guess?

My main problem is how some villains/antagonists/even some protagonists are so EASILY forgivable and reformable while others aren't or they weren't really offered the chance.

Hinthint DT gives CMC he'll for 4 seasons but is reformed because she has mommy issues. Babs is forgiven easily AND the CmC for nearly killing her.

But Lightning Dust makes one mistake that wasn't even intentional and is kicked off the Wonderbolt team like crap.

  7. I hear you, I just think you're completely and utterly wrong.

Fluttershy could never have gotten them to listen to her, she is an absolute doormat, and even if there's scenarios where she blows up she never shows initiative in forcing others to listen to her which would have been required here. There is absolutely no way I can see fluttershy finding a way to force herself into both enclaves given how confrontational and antagonistic the two sides were.

Twilight was absolutely required here this is not a scenario that Fluttershy could ever have waltzed in and done on her own.

Never say never. Fluttershy may have the capability to force herself to be heard despite her choosing against it. If there ever comes a time when she literally yells "HAY!" to grab the attention of others if it's urgent, I would not be surprised whatsoever and it's not becaayse of her last blow outs since, as you already said, they had nothing to do with her forcing herself into a situation or being heard.

However I will have disagree with Twilight being useless in the situation. While Fluttershy needs to be tugged/dragged/forced out of her shell in order to forcefully take charge, Twilight does not. And she does it in a manner that isn't tyrabical....she was needed because both families were literally the emobidment of irrationality. Even if Flutters tried to grip the situation, she would have needed help, therefore, the map knew Twilight would be right for the job because:

    1. It'll teach her a lesson that sometimes the most rational solutions aren't enough to solve problems between irrational people

    2. Taming both families at her best long enough for Fluttershy to get the whole story from the animals

Because honestly, Fluttershy would have been too busy dodging away from watermelons and wood to really take the time to save and speak with the critters.

Fluttershy is capable of handling the situation, but she is not capable of handling it on her own where Twilight will be playing at her strengths

  8. The reason why Tanks for the Memories is my number one worst episode is because Rainbow gets away with her horrible actions, without facing any consequences.

RD has always been a bit of a selfish jerk, which is why she's my least favorite of the mane 6. But this episode exaggerated these traits to the point of making her downright villainous.

The worst part is that the whole episode could EASILY have been salvaged if there was just ONE scene of Rainbow Dash apologizing. But in the end, no one is even aware that she did all of these terrible things.

    My other most hated episodes:

    2) Slice of Life: This is the first (And so far, only) episode that I couldn't stand to watch in its entirety. The whole thing is an attempt to cram as many memes as they can into 22 minutes, with no regard as to whether it's actually entertaining. The scene that best illustrates this problem is the opening: the "joke" here (If you can call it that) is that Derpy says "Muffin". If you spend enough time on the internet to get the joke, you've already seen dozens of fanart which make the same joke, but better.

    3) Party Pooped: These yaks felt like racist caricatures. Apparently their entire culture consists of moronic brutes who smash everything they don't like. Pinkie's trip wasn't that funny either. Only good part of the episode was that one nice yak that Pinkie met.

    4) Appleoosa's Most Wanted: What can I say, apparently some people in Equestria are doomed to spend their whole life being mocked, and they're supposed to be OK with that.

    5) Bloom and Gloom: The whole episode being a dream makes it feel kinda pointless. Especially since everyone was acting way out of character in these dreams, meaning that they can't be applied to Apple Bloom's real life.

Thanks for clearing that up. I cannot deny how lenient they are with certain things but I suppose the fact it's a kid's show can excuse what they've done even if it was done by insanity. I believe it would have been less horrid had RD at least apologized tampering with the making of winter even if it backfired to something positive.

As for your other reasons towards the other episodes. Please get put of my head. You're literally speaking my thoughts xD

  9. Senpai noticed you

I dont reply every comment, cause I'm az idiot.

and my plan is, every weekend (cause I will have so much exam at the university) I will do, three or five request. Next upload will be at saturday if everything will go right :)

Trust me, I understand the struggle. Take your time. Life comes first

  10. Biggest strength: Interesting and varied characters, which balance each other out and create lots of potential for new character dynamics to come to play. Biggest Weakness: I'd say "rushing", but what bothers me more than that is the inconsistency among the writers. I mean, some of them seem to pay very close attention to pre-existing lore, the lessons characters have learnt, etc, while others will stretch and bend the world to their will, resulting in confused perceptions of lore (Baby Cakes) and character un-development. (Basically any Fluttershy episode in season 5)@@Silver Stream., I see the fandom as a sort of mixed blessing. We have a lot of excellent, interesting, generous, and creative people in this fandom, which I'm reminded of every day when I log onto the forums and see people helping each other out, sharing advice, and, more recently, grouping together to donate to MCM...and that kind of thing makes me very happy and proud to be part pf this community....But thanks to this show's overwhelming number of fans, we also have a very large and unfortunately public dark side. The biggest empires are destroyed from within, after all...or, rather, a fish rots from the head? Either way, there's a lot of strife going on within this fandom that is driving people away and making us seem like Steven Universe fans a rather toxic group, so people can't really see the good parts of this fandom until they're already in it, which usually takes either a very persuasive friend or a very open mind. ^^' But yes, I can see how the fandom can be a weakness, especially in terms of PR.   I apologize for the stab at the Steven Universe fandom, I know they aren't ALL bad, just some of them are terrifying  self-proclaimed social justice warriors who drive artists to attempt suicide through misplaced passive-aggression.

A blessing as well as a curse. I'm already part of the fandom but it doesn't change my opinion on them I general. It's because I have an open mind that I shamelessly claim myself as a member of the mlp fandom despite the cons it possesses. I'm not implying I dislike the random or anything, I just see it as a weakness for the show though it provides good strengths as well. I will agree with that on the SU random as well as I am part of that too....but it also goes for the MLP random...hell Evert large fandom out there.

  11. I wouldn't really call the fandom a weakness. Sure, there are things like the nods to the fandom which can get grating at times, but otherwise the fandom doesn't have much impact on the show. The fandom is completely different thing in and of itself with its own chunk of flaws.

I only call the random a weakness because despite us not having a big impact on the show, our perception of each episode and every detail determines whether an episode or movie made it or not. Whether it was something exceptional, or the worst mistake in history not to mention the confusion we may sometimes bring to other people wanting to give the show a chance. Also if anyone is curious about the show and searched things on Google, they find a few interesting art pieces that might make them take a step back.

I speak from personal experience as I've only bern a fan for a year when I could have given the show a chance sooner but it was the fandom that kept me at bay. It was from channel surfing that I finally gave it a chance.

Also, at times the fandom can cause many yo despise the show because whenever they see something harmless, let's say...a scene where Spike says hi to Rarity and get the heart eyes...many either cringe or fangirls St the sight regarding everything knowing the uproar it could bring.

I'm not saying the fandom is a BAD thing but I personally find it a weakness to the show and perhaps the franchise. It's my personal opinion on the matter. I mean the random.can even be a strength as well depending on how you see it. Such as the fandom being the main reason why the show still exists after so long. *shrugs* I just see.no wrong in seeing it as a weakness

  12. Haha. Good call on those. I think the closest to a Flutter rage out was perhaps her scene in "Tanks for the memories" when she was like "yo your tortoise has to sleep.....it's inevitable now cry it out". It wasn't done overthetop but she really owned that scene when she was the one who bluntly broke the news to RD.

Though I was half-expecting some sort of outburst in "The Hoofields and McColts" because of the animals being in danger from the family neighbor rivalry

  13. Not saying I wouldn't mind seeing a new member of the cast, since I have this guilty pleasure of considering Sunset to join one day, I just wish something like this would have came sooner since it seems so late to have another join the team. I would even consider it more naturally if Spike "officially" became one of the mane characters since we've been introduced to him since the beginning and seem to already have strong relationships with all of them. But who knows? We'll see.

  14. I would not be satisfied with Cadence an Shining armor being the best options for love being I see them both as only static characters with little no genuine affection being shown or developed when it comes to their relationship. I cannot deny how they seem fond of one another and I'm NOT saying they don't love each other, but I see a better love story between Cranky and Mitilda or better yet....The Cake Couple than I do with Cadence and Shining Armor.

Granted, I'm aware there is more back story on how they found each other within the IDW comics, but being many people consider only half canon and the other half to be fillers and I personally don't like to tie two and two together without an official answer from the creators as to whether or not the comics are canon, I don't rely on them heavily.

Cadence and Shining Armor seems more like a fairytale thing. Which I never found myself to relate to......it's nothing wrong with it though? It's nice to give fans something they desire and that's a perfect relationship. But I personally love more developed relationships where I'm able to witness the effort of reaching love or how well one works with the other. Cadence an shining Armor were pretty much thrown at us.....The Cakes are my favorite couple because they do well to complete each other. They don't have to stare in each other's eyes or save the day for us to see how they are committed to each and their business and their babies. I love how they intereact with each other and the other mane characters and despite their brief appearances they strike me as that genuine couple with a true love story to tell even if it lacks the excitement and magic many may desire.

Cranky and Mitilda are a close second, but their relationship seems one sided. Cranky travels the world to look for his love while Mitilda is like "aww thank you".

Besides....haven't we've been given an episode in which the power of love saves the day? The same primiere that shoved Cadence an Shining at us is the same premier in which their love for one another defeats Chrysilas right?
