It wasn't the DVD box set exactly. He took a DVD cover off one of the old movies, and put a burned disk in it. Not sure how he got a hold of the episodes though. But he told me it had all of season 1, so I just assumed it was the legit one.

Huh, really? I'm completely new to the site and I haven't seen of heard of the impersonator. By the way, you're doing a great job with those PMV's. Hope there is more soon.

Hi all, it's nice to be part of this fandom and I'm glad I started an account. Though I do have a few questions. One, would be how exactly this fandom got started, with me being almost completely new, I'm a bit lost. My best friend gave me the DVD box set of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic season 1, for my birthday. Under the circumstances I assumed it was a gag gift, being the jokester he is. We had a laugh about it and I just threw it on my shelf. About a week later I saw that it was gathering dust and I decided to watch some of it. I started with episode one...then in one night I finished the entire season. I loved it, and questioning my sanity I got on the internet and did some research. I didn't even know the Brony fandom existed till about two days ago. Maybe you guys could fill me in a little bit...

Well, you kinda have to make your own judgement when you first watch the show (as in a couple full episodes.) I for one have always been a fan of Cartoons and Animation, and I remember watching the old movies when I was younger. They weren't bad, but they didn't really hook me. But I did gain a sense of not being totally new to the genre. It has excellent voice acting, round lovable characters, great animation (with it being animated with Flash and all.), and a great way to learn some good old fashioned morals and lessons which seem to be almost non existent in other cartoons. Lauren Faust has always done a great job with cartoons going all the way back to The Power Puff Girls, which was one of the best Action cartoons when I was a kid. You can argue that we're not it's intended main demographic, with it being made for little girls. But I see it as a way of rebelling against social norms. Women can play football, have seats in politics, and basically everything else in society women can do. But heaven forbid the day a guy enjoys a quote on quote "girly" Cartoon. It's a really nice show, check it out when you can. Peace.
