  1. If I could somehow change my sex to female, just for the clothes, I might seriously consider it myself! :D

Same here! Women's clothes are just so much better than men's, in my opinion. It's just not fair that they get so many different styles and fabrics and we get so little. That's primarily why I cross-dress. I wear women's pajamas because I like how soft and comfy they are and I wear women's socks because I like how cute and colourful they are. The only problem is, even though I wear those things, I won't go to the extent of wearing a dress or anything really feminine because it would look silly on me. That's why, sometimes... I think it may have been better if I had been born a girl. Then I could wear whatever I want and not only would no one would think anything of it, but it would look better on me too.

  2. If you've read any of my previous posts, you may know that I do a bit of cross-dressing. Well, my grandmother just had a talk with me about it. I've been openly wearing girls socks, pajamas, and clear nail polish on my fingernails. I've also been wearing colored polish on my toenails. I've been doing it for a while and she never really seemed to care. She even found out about the colored nail polish and didn't make a big deal out of it, though she did seem a bit disappointed. Well, recently we were talking and somehow got on the subject. Long story short, she doesn't really approve of my cross-dressing after all. I told her I like cute things and some feminine/girly things. She said the cute things were fine, but in her mind, I'm a man, and men aren't supposed to be 'girly' or wear women's clothing. I told her I've felt this way for a long time, even before MLP. I told her that I've been hiding it and trying to live up to everyone's expectations, but when I found MLP and came out as a brony, I realized it was better to be myself and stop worrying about what others think. It doesn't matter to her though. She has her preconceived beliefs and she blames herself. She thinks she spoiled me as a kid and didn't make me man up... or something like that.  :(  The way I see it though, it's a part of who I am. I don't think that's ever going to change and I believe suppressing it will just make things worse.

Anyway, she's not happy about it, but she didn't exactly tell me to stop cross-dressing, so although it makes me sad knowing that she's disappointed and worried about me, I'm relieved in a way too, because I don't have to hide it anymore. I can tell her I think something's cute (because she didn't say anything was wrong with that.  :P ) and I can keep cross-dressing to a certain extent. I'm not going to wear a dress or anything like that, of course (except maybe for cosplay...) but let's just say I've already thrown out all of my old socks.  ;)

  3. There is already a thread on this topic here, so I'll be locking this one. In the future, please use the search function to look for existing threads before creating new ones.

  4. That poster looks awesome. I did some research because I'd like to have one as well, but unfortunately I couldn't find very much information about it. The only thing I could find said that it came from 'Animethon 20' and 'Anime Banzai 2012'. They didn't state who made the poster though. If anyone knows who the artist is or where/if it can be purchased, I'd like to know as well.

Here's a couple of pictures I found, by the way.

  5. Congratulations! I am so jelly! I don't even have a Build-A-Bear plushie yet. I have others, including the Funrise 'streamer hair' plushies, Ty Beanie Babies, and an Aurora plushie, but I would like at least one Build-A-Bear. They just look so cute and cuddly and being a fan of the brushable toys, I like that they have realistic hair. The only problem for me, though, is I'd have to buy it online because as open as I am about being a brony, I think it would be awkward to get it stuffed in person. The only way I could do that is if I took my little brother or niece and let them get one too so it wouldn't be like I'm just getting it for myself.

As for what you should do next, well... collect other stuff! If you're into plushies, the Aurora plushies are really cute and if you're looking for show accurate ones, you could check out 4th Dimension. If you have the money, you could also look into custom made plushies. While the official ones are quite well made compared to how they used to be, you still can't beat good custom plushies for quality and show accuracy.

  6. Everyone, please keep in mind that this is the Rarity Fan Club. As specified in the OP, "This is the Rarity thread, please only post her." If you want to discuss the world cup, other ponies, or any other topics, please post in their respective threads or make a new one.

  7. Cool Pinkie Pie set!

I can see you've asked if we've ever had any damaged/defective merch, so I'll answer with a simple yes.

To be honest, I don't collect much FiM toys, I only collect G1 toys. My G1 toys are mostly in mint condition, and they never had any factory made defects.

I cannot say the same for my FiM mini figures, though. Most of them have sloppy paint jobs and odd marks/scratches on them. It's pretty disappointing but it's nothing too major, just like the gash on your Pinkie's ear. I haven't really seen major errors/defects on toys though; most toys in general are pretty well made for the most part.

I collect the FIM brushables as well as the mini figures/blind bags and I've had a similar experience with both. I have over 50 of the brushables and even more mini figures, and while most of them are pretty much free of defects, a few of them have various minor flaws such as small dents, scratches, minor hair tangles, and slight displacement of decals/paint. Many of the mini figures and even one of my brushables are slightly off balance as well, which annoys me, but there's nothing I can do about it now. I think they just use a lower quality manufacturing process these days, so occasional minor defects are to be expected. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to inspect the toy before you buy and pick out the one that looks best, though you can't really do that with blind bags. If you still end up with a defective toy, you can try returning it, but personally, if it's nothing major, I'd rather not worry with the hassle. It's just something I've learned to accept.

  8. MINTY!!!!! Minty was amazing. Love love love her.

This person knows what they're taking about! Minty is awesome! Admittedly, I don't remember much about her personality, but I love her colour scheme and we share one of the same interests, socks!

  9. I actually thought about getting some socks like those myself. I'm not transgendered (I think), I just like things that are cute.

I'm the same way. I don't believe I'm transgender and I'm not gay either, but I just like cute and feminine things. I have no idea why I'm this way. It definitely didn't come from watching MLP because I've been this way long before that. I do, however, think that MLP helped to bring it out because when I became open about ponies, I noticed that people didn't really seem to care, so I got the confidence to be more open about my other interests. There are still some things I keep hidden, such as my extent of cross-dressing, but I am open about my interests in cute things now.

Ya whenever my aunt did it here's that story if you wanted to hear it. Since I was 6 back then I was left at my aunt's while my parents were busy and I just hung out in the basement with some Pokemon and then my aunt brought down a dress up tote. I had lots of issues back then so I don't know why I thought this was wrong but then my aunt told me it was alright so I put a wig and a dress on with heels and then everytime I went there I played dress up with my little girl cousin I don't now though I just put on my sisters dresses time to time.

I think it's pretty common to cross-dress when you're little because when kids play together, they often share the same toys, or in this case, clothes, and kids often dress up as the opposite gender for Halloween, but when you're an adult, people think it's weird. Personally, I think clothes are just clothes and whatever you want to wear is fine, but try getting the rest of society to believe that.

  10. I actually cross-dress mostly in the Springtime around April I have no idea why I just do and it's all because my aunt messed me up at a young age even though I learned never tie yourself up into a dress it's really hard to escape (I had to use a mechanical pencil). I guess it's just the feel free feeling on the legs. There's also lots of cross-dressing in my cartoon Type Creatures with Jolt Spark and Rocko Fistor, I think I do it actually because I'm cartoony but please don't mention this to anyone it's kind of one of my secrets, I even feel a little bit awkward posting this.

How does one use a mechanical pencil to escape from a dress?

Anyway, your post reminds me of when I was little. My grandmother used to dress me in gowns to sleep in. I'm not sure why, but I think it may be because it was normal for boys to wear them back in the old days, and maybe she hung onto that tradition. Anyway, I used to think it was normal to wear them and like you said, dresses, gowns, etc are so free feeling and comfortable, so I used to enjoy wearing them around the house when I was lazy, sometimes even all day. I know a couple of times my cousins came over and we would all wear them while we played. We even tied each other up sometimes to see how fast we could escape, but I'm not sure if we ever wore gowns while doing that. Your post reminded me of those times though, so I thought I'd share.

  11. Anyone who has read my previous posts in this topic knows that I like cute and colourful socks, which strangely enough, only seem to be found in the women's section. (Go figure) Anywho, I can't get enough of them, so I bought some more today and I went ahead and reorganized my sock drawer. Here is what it looks like now.

The ones in the front have various designs on them. Mostly ponies, but some other random designs as well, such as Adventure Time. The ones in the back are just plain ankle socks. I also have some fuzzy socks and toe socks underneath. I even have a couple of pairs of baby socks in the back for my pony plushies so they can keep their hoofsies warm.  :P

  12. I have 1155 songs or 3.2 days which comes out to 8.18GB of songs that I have downloaded onto my computer, all of which have been converted to AAC format to help reduce space. In addition to those, there are countless others that I've listened to and haven't downloaded. Most of these songs are pony related but a few of them are not, however, all of them are by brony musicians. The reason I have so much music is because there was a time when I listened to brony music almost exclusively and I liked being able to put it on my iPod and listen anywhere I want. That isn't really the case anymore though. I still like brony music, but I've gotten a little tired of it, (shocking, I know) so my collection isn't growing like it used to.

  13. I just recently bought Portal 2 and I can't get enough of it. I've been playing it every chance I get for about a week and I've already beaten it. Now I'm going back through it with developer commentary. I find the story incredibly interesting and although it contains a lot of humour, it's kind of eerie as well. All those years of "science" buried beneath the Earth's crust, robots taking over, etc. The whole thing has a creepy vibe to it, in my opinion, and that's what I love about it.

I've done some research and found out that it takes place in the same world as Half Life, so now I want to play those games as well. Kind of a random thought, but I think it would be awesome if they made a Half Life / Portal movie, or maybe a Half Life movie and a Portal movie that somehow tie in together or reference each other... Heck, even a single movie about one of them would be awesome.

  14. I don't know if I posted my cat in here but yeah, I have a cat now as well as a dog. She's a white short haired cat. I found her where I used to work when she was just a few weeks old. She was apparently abandoned because she wasn't afraid of me at all. I just called her and she walked right up to me. I tried to give her away but no one wanted her, so I took her home in hopes in that I could eventually find someone to take her but I never did. She was really cute and I didn't want to just drop her off at a shelter where who knows what would happen, so I talked my grandparents into letting me keep her. I named her Opal, and yes, it was partially because of my love of MLP, but also because I think it's a nice name that should be used more often and she's white, so I think it suits her. I think she's about a year old now, and if you're wondering, she get's along perfectly well with the dog. He's gentle and they were introduced when she was a kitten, so they learned to get along early on.

Here's a picture of her I just took. It's not that great, but it's the best I could get at the moment.

Oh my stars, he looks JUST like my old cocker spaniel (named Romeo) used to look :(

We had him for a long time, but he eventually lost his eyesight, had been suffering from a severe chronic ear infection, and was losing his hearing as well. We did what we could but eventually had to put him down.

    ______

As for my pets, I just have two cats. I want to get a dog, or maybe some ratties :3

Unfortunately, ear and eye problems are common issues with Cockers. My grandparents and I used to have three of them and two of them had both ear and eyesight problems. The one we have now gets ear infections, but we keep it treated. I hope he never problems with his eyes, but I know it's possible that he will.

I've been thinking about getting a gerbil too, but I don't think I want a rat. Maybe a hamster. I'd just have to figure out how to keep it away from the cat.

  15. Always nice to see a new face around here! I think you'll find that we're all a friendly bunch of ponies, but if anyone ever gives you any trouble, just let me know and I'll take care of 'em.  ;) I know you're new to the forums, but I'm sure you'll find your way around rather quickly. If you do need any help though, feel free to ask one of our friendly staff members. We're always happy to assist. With that said, I hope you enjoy your time here and I look forward to seeing you around the forums.

...Oh wait. You're not new here? Then why are you just now posting an introduction thread!? Well, better late than never, I suppose.

  16. Lol i posted this same topic, just a few weeks ago! We love you Fluttershy, but your house likely smells of animal poo.

Whaddya know. I searched on Google and I couldn't find this thread. I should have used the forum's search feature as well, but Google often gives me better results. I'll be sure to use both methods in the future.

Anyway, I stand by my previous post. I don't think Fluttershy would stink and her house looks clean, so I doubt that it stinks either. If anything, it might have a faint smell due to the presence animals and pet food, but I doubt that it would be any worse than a clean pet store.

  17. No, she wouldn't.

The animals she tends to don't live in her cottage. Sure they may visit, but they don't LIVE there. Sure, maybe after a day she might smell, but who doesn't after a hard days work? She probably bathes regularly, not to mention the spa days she has. :squee: But she wouldn't have a smell after having a bath.

Also, wasn't there a topic about this exact same thing a month or so ago?

We had a topic regarding pony smells, but I don't believe we've had one about Fluttershy specifically, and given her unique situation with the animals, I think there's enough discussion to merit a separate thread.

Anyway, I'd have to agree with you. I could see that crazy cat lady from the Apple family having a weird smell because she lives with tons of cats, and well... when you live with more than a few cats, you tend to stink. I know because I used to know someone like that.

Fluttershy, on the other hand, only has a few animals in her house most of the time (Angel and some mice, as far as I know), and she seems to keep it clean. I'm sure she has good hygene as well, so I don't see any reason why she would stink.

  18. I am SUPER excited because I heard from a store clerk that build a bear might/probably will be getting Zecora. And I know from a tweet that 4DE is gonna be making a Big Mac plush which I can't wait to snatch up. Oh and the Aurora's Princess Luna plush looks pretty nice too.

You heard right. According to this source, Build-A-Bear may indeed be getting Zecora, along with Trixie, Applejack, and Apple Bloom. Personally, for the sake of my wallet, I wish I could choose one company and stick with them, but I can't. I love them all! Build-A-Bear plushies are cute and I like the brushable hair. 4DE plushies are show accurate. Aurora plushies are not as show accurate, but they make up for it by being adorable. I just can't choose!

  19. img-2487656-4-IMG_1214_zpsa6c6f89a.jpg

Nice customs! I recognize Big Macintosh, but who's the other one?

Current plush collection ( the beanie babies are kind of hidden at the bottom )

Hoping to get DJ , derpy and trixie soon.

    attachicon.gifIMG_3418.JPG

Ohmahgawd, I just want to hug them all!

That's an awesome collection of plushies. I see you have some customs too. So far, I only have the standard and small size Funrise plushies, an Aurora Fluttershy, and a few Ty Beanie Babies, but I'm planning on getting some Build-A-Bear and 4DE plushies too. I've also always wanted a custom, but I want one that's really well made and they can be expensive.

  20. Like everyone said, eBay is your best bet. I remember seeing Lauren Faust put up a sketch of Derpy that she made and signed.

I guess it's best to keep an eye out for anything that's one of a kind like that.

Ah, yes. That's something I forgot to mention. Sometimes VA's or show staff put things up for sell themselves, though often they're doing it for charity or some other cause and the price can get ridiculous, so unless money really is no issue, that may be out of the question. If you do plan on buying something from a VA though, make sure it's really them. Usually they'll verify it with some kind of proof such as a Twitter post.

Another thing I forgot to mention about ebay is that you want to look for reputable sellers. Before buying, be sure to check the seller's feedback and make sure it's mostly positive. Read feedback left by previous buyers so you can have a better idea of what to expect. This isn't foolproof, but you're more likely to get a legit product from a seller with positive feedback than one with negative.

Also, check the return policy. If you get something and find out it's fake, you'll want to be able to return it.

  21. I don't like hypothetical situations like this because I know that it would indeed be impossible for me to choose. Although I love my family more than anything, I would never EVER willingly kill another human or sentient being that can think and talk like us. Even if someone were holding a gun against one of my family members, I don't believe I could kill them. Instead, I would look for any other possible alternatives. If there are none, I would just have to live with the pain of loosing them.

In the case of the hypothetical scenario posed by the OP of this thread, there isn't enough information for me to say for sure, but assuming someone is trying to kill my family and there is no way for me to disable the killer, I would first beg for their mercy. If that doesn't work, I would have no choice but to witness their death. It would be very painful and I'm not sure how I would handle it, but I would try not to blame myself or commit suicide. After all, I would have done nothing wrong. It wouldn't be my fault they are dead, but the fault of the person who killed them. I would have been merely an unfortunate witness to the event.
