  1. Been a while. Let's see if anything is new.

  2. 6.5/10 Idea's good, the art style... looks slightly derpy to me.
  3. So-o-o, my wallet got stolen. Fun.

  4. Was this linked before? Maybe it was. Here's a Twily anyway, people.
  5. Oh, the struggles of living in Russia and having to figure out how big a UH-1 Huey model is compared to a 40K Valkyrie because no one here bothers to make the bloody flyers.
  6. So... I guess... I'll be getting into this... miniatures painting thing. For 40K. Because Elysian Drop Troops. Eh, nevermind me. Ramblin'.

  7. Ya, language-based typo. "Pegasus" in Russian would just be "pegas".
  8. And from that day on New Vegas became known as New Pegasus, the city of Awesomeness that is 20% Cooler than Any Other City.
  9. Dunno. Although they shut down one of dozens upon dozens of forgers. If they were truly scared they'd be much more proactive and efficient since the law is still on their side. Also, all fixed up and good to go! http://imgur.com/a/r5vdB
  10. Law and justice or sensibility don't always go hand in hand. GW's miniatures are ridiculously overpriced, and it's their fault that they aren't providing any support to the hobby in Russia. Plus about forgeries... in Russian language that word would apply only if they tried to sell their stuff as GW original. They don't. Everybody knows that low prices and use of plastic rather than resin or whatever GW switched to couple of years ago would give that away.
  11. If I were an asshole I'd steal the credit, but nope. I got it from the previous owner and Postal Service of Russia managed to break it in shipping, so now I'm gluing it back together. Although I'm planning on getting a disassembled knight from one of the "independent forgers" as they are called here, for 3800 rubles (works out to about 58.8 USD vs $180 when ordered from GW). GW does not care about Russia so no official 40K support here and all of the minies are made by people with access to plastic molds. And all of the rulebooks are available online on Russian social networks! Hurrah for holy piracy! Gonna be that, disassembled. The knight I'm currently gluing together is from the same guys from whom I linked the above picture. "Miniatures World" they call themselves.
  12. Meanwhile, fixing a knight broken in shipping. Almost done.
  13. You thought victory was so close, huh?.. WHEN SUDDENLY, STEEL RAIN. I win.
  14. Kroot are still very much around in Tau 7th ed codex.
  15. Squats are now proper non-canon, being stricken out of first the current universe and then out of all of 40K with mentions of them being edited out. Slann, to my knowledge, aren't non-canon, if rarely mentioned. Lexicanum's refs for them date all the way back to when 40K was called "Rogue Trader" and the latest one is 4th edition rulebook. Also, Slann don't have an army list. That said, any official/Forge World miniatures, AFAIK, can be brought and played, provided you use current rules for them within reason! I.e. you can still play squat minies, just using IG 'dex.
  16. Canon ignorance, or seeming canon ignorance. Either way, it's my berserk button.
  17. Equally, there's no talking to people who don't bother to read their own faction's lore... I was referring to canonical material from Farsight supplement and to Lexicanum. What's your excuse for ignorance? How the fuck am I a zealot for correcting you? Specifically: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tau "Should an Ethereal order a Tau of a different caste to kill themselves, they would be obeyed instantly and without question." Reference - 8f, Codex: Tau Empire (THE DEFINITION of your faction's canon). Also: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ethereal "Their power over the Tau is such that an Ethereal could tell a Tau to die and that Tau would do so quickly and gladly. The Adeptus Mechanicus would give much to learn the secret of the Ethereal's power. There is strong implication from the similarities between an organ possessed uniquely among Tau by the Ethereals, and an organ which Q'orl use in pheromonal communication that this ability may be due to deliberate engineering in the Ethereals' past." And also. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/O%27Shovah "After the incident on Arthas Moloch, Farsight returned to his established holdings on the far side of the Damocles Gulf. Farsight began to secretly become highly distrustful of the Ethereal Caste, coming to suspect that they may be controlling the Tau by more than simple charisma and wisdom, perhaps employing more sinister methods. In the aftermath of his victory, Farsight came to realise the threat of Chaos and the fact the universe was not the orderly rational place described in Tau philosophy. He also came to the realization that the Ethereals as a caste knew something of this but had kept it from the Tau.[4b] At first he merely thought their leadership was flawed, that the other castes would be better off seeking harmony with each other without their oversight. But the more he thought on the instances where obedience to the Etherals had been taken to illogical and foolish extremes. Worse, many of the actions taken under their guidance had seemed at the time both wise and necessary seemed now deplorable and wrong.[4b] In addition, Farsight began to live far beyond the normal life span of a Tau.[4h]" And lastly you are wrong in thinking that tau are invisible to daemons. They are not a race of blanks, they simply have very weak souls. If a daemon was right in front of them, summoned into the Materium, it would very much notice them. Furthermore, Farsight fought daemons and they were the ones who slaughtered the ethereals accompanying him, freeing him from their control.
  18. Oh for Pete's sake, there's a GURPS expansion for playing BUNNIES?!

  19. No, you are mistaken. Lexicanum refers to uncanny levels of control, to the point of Tau gladly shooting himself in the head if an Ethereal tells them to. Plus, Farsight Enclaves supplement mentions that Farsight had something beyond mere reasoning and respect telling him to obey what he later deemed as unreasonable requests of an Ethereal. He himself feels that there is something more sinister to their "charisma". Pheromone control is real. What does it matter if any damage done to Imperium's war machine was miniscule? Also a lie, actually. Navigators can navigate without and beyond the light of Astronomicon - it's just very much harder, same goes for communication between astropaths. If Golden Throne fails Imperium will split into smaller sections of human-controlled space, but not completely crumble. Smaller astopath choirs in fact are located all over human controlled space and in absence of Astronomicon their mental "songs" would fill in as miniature psychic beacons.
