  1. Alright, maybe replace wasn't the right word...

I meant the fact this means Celestia and Luna were both somehow overpowered by changelings AGAIN, offscreen

One seriously has to wonder how Equestria survived with them in charge

No kidding. I pin full blame on the writers for turning Celestia and Luna from the proud Alicorn Princesses in charge of the Sun and Moon from Season 1 into the weak, pathetic, damsels-in-distress that need to have their sorry flanks saved from danger in almost every season premiere or finale. It is downright disgraceful how they are being treated in the show. They do a lot better in the comics.

  2. I just want to know HOW the Changelings managed to get into Canterlot to replace the Royal Sisters AGAIN

Again? They never even replaced them to begin with the first time back in A Canterlot Wedding. Only Chrysalis managed to replace an Alicorn Princess, and that was Cadance as part of her plan to take Canterlot the first time by taking Shining Armor out of action. Then she'd probably go after the Royal Sisters next anyway.

  3. You could say the same thing about Chrysalis in terms of killing. It never occurred to her that maybe the reason why Starlight was able to turn her hive against was be cause she let Twilight live to eventually find her and make her her student in the first place. Then again, she also did think less with her brain and more with her ego.

On topic, I agree with you on Sombra and Tirek being the most evil.

But ultimately, Starlight never would have foiled her plans if Twilight never found her and made her her student. Even when held prisoner, Twilight Sparkle plays a role in Chrysalis's defeat.

True, but while she was ready to deal with Chrysalis again back when she learned about Thorax, she let her guard down afterwards, and that was when Chrysalis struck. Twilight and her friends were caught by surprise, but Starlight knew from the time she spent with Twilight that she was always supportive of her actions, so when the Changeling drone impersonating Twilight tried to act like her and tell Starlight the opposite of what Twilight would have said, that raised Starlight's suspicions, and once Luna confirmed the truth, Starlight was more than ready to venture into enemy territory to save her teacher and all her friends from Chrysalis' wrath.

  4. Tirek is my first choice, with Queen Chrysalis as a close second. Both have come very close to conquering Equestria at least once.

Tirek nearly succeeded after he took the Princesses' combined Alicorn magic from Twilight, and had it not been for Rainbow Power, he would have become Equestria's King and God for who knows how long.

Chrysalis had Equestria at her mercy in her second appearance when she kidnapped and replaced the Mane Six and Royal Family, and no one was the wiser to her plan except for Starlight, Sunburst, and Thorax, leaving the country completely unprepared for a full-scale invasion by the Changeling Swarm. Had it not been for Starlight and Thorax in the end, Equestria would have been in Chrysalis' iron hoof within at least twenty-four hours.

  5. Chrysalis has caused the Royal Family and Mane Six so much grief and turmoil with the two times she tried to take over Equestria in the Season 2 and Season 6 finales, she deserves either eternal incarceration in Tartarus, or complete annihilation so she doesn't cause them any more problems in the future.

  6. I have to admit, when I saw it for the first time, I enjoyed what they did with introducing human versions of the Mane Six and several other characters in the first movie, then adding in more in the following movies, like Dean Cadance, Alumnus Shining Armor, and more.

I also loved the music, so that's what got me hooked from watching the very first movie of the Equestria Girls series to watching the latest one and preparing for the specials next year alongside the feature film and Season 7 of Friendship is Magic.

  7. You're still talking about To Where and Back Again. I meant in the future, when she appears again, she'll decide having them all impersonated wasn't worth, and she'll just kill Twilight.

She does that, and Tartarus will be the least of her worries. It will be total annihilation for killing the Princess of Friendship, and that won't leave a trace of Chrysalis left as she'll be downright atomized for pulling that stunt.

  8. I meant That Chrysalis was just going to destroy Twilight as another plan of revenge. I was trying to make it as kid-friendly as possible because no one in the show can say kill.

I understand what you mean. Still, even if Chrysalis did do that, sooner or later, someone would find out what happened, and she would be in deep trouble for eliminating the Elements of Harmony and the Royal Family since her drones would not be able to maintain their ruse forever to keep Equestria unaware over what happened to their sovereigns and saviors in the span of a couple of days.

  9. As trophies, huh? Honestly, I think Chrysalis will eventually change her mind about that.

"You know, Princess Twilight, I was originally going to replace you and your friends with my drones... but now I've changed my mind. I should have just disposed of you instead. And I'm going to do just that. Prepare for destruction!"

What about what some fans were considering instead? That being having the Royal Family and Mane Six transformed and mutated into Changelings instead? You think Chrysalis would enjoy having them under her sway as Changelings rather than keep them prisoner in cocoons?

I only suggest this because of an unfinished comic that the Brony reviewer Ink Rose has done showing Celestia turned into a Changeling herself, but still retaining some of her free will and personality despite her new appearance.

  10. She wasn't seen in any cocoon, but she was mentioned to have been kidnapped like everyone else

Perhaps they kept Flurry Heart separate from the older ponies because she was too small to keep in a cocoon like the others. We did see a Changeling personally return Flurry Heart to Cadance and Shining Armor, indicating they kept Flurry Heart in a separate location from the throne room where the rest of the Royal Family and Mane Six were being kept for Chrysalis to have as trophies.

  11. Actually, that would be 11. You forgot McFlurry

Well, I don't think we actually saw her in a cocoon with the others. We only saw her when the Changelings returned her to Cadance and Shining Armor, and Flurry Heart was not covered in slime from a cocoon like everyone else, sans Luna, so that's why I forgot to include her in my earlier comment regarding comparing the Season 6 finale to the Season 2 finale.

  12. I meant the stuff comes out of the other end. I was trying to avoid that theory. Besides, if they were fully conscious, Twilight wouldn't have asked what happened. She'd have known right away that she was being held prisoner, so was no point in her constantly opening and closing her eyes.

That's why I said they had to have been kidnapped during the night while asleep. They would have been only semi-conscious, trying to wake up, but couldn't because of the fluid in the cocoons keeping them sedated until the cocoons broke open and allowed the fresh air to reach them and revive them fully. Also, I don't want to know how Chrysalis did cocoon them anyhow since it would be too scary for the target audience based on how they would actually describe it.

  13. Believe me, I would have preferred if they showed them getting captured, though being put in the cocoons is more minor. Besides... do we even wanna know HOW Chrysalis makes those cocoons. As far as we know, it might work the same way as spiders.

Spiders don't put their prey in cocoons that are translucent and allow us to see what's inside, which leads to the "And I Must Scream" trope when we saw how Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Twilight, and everyone else were still semi-conscious, but the only indication of life in them was their twitching hooves and eyelids as many looked like they were taken during the night, and Luna was the only one who was probably fully conscious compared to everyone else since she opened her eyes fully when she felt her cocoon shift and Chrysalis press her hooves into the outer shell as it was Luna who managed to fight off the anti-magic field's influence long enough to warn Starlight, and was the only one not covered in slime when everyone was freed.

Even if we would want to know how Chrysalis does it, or has the drones do it instead, it might be too much Nightmare Fuel for the younger viewers to bear.

  14. Not really. More like, they wanted a tour of Equestria, even though that was the toy theme. Heh. Now that you mention it, with how people compare 28 Pranks Later to The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well, you could say that Season 6 was a throwback to season 2. The difference between the finales being that in A Canterlot Wedding, Cadance being impersonated being a secret was on purpose, while we never get to at least see Twilight getting captured in Two Where And Back Again.

True, but there's also the matter of how the rest of the Mane Six got captured as well, and the Royal Family too. No explanation for that, and I'm hoping it will be answered in the Season 7 premiere in at least some acceptable way.

I still think the heroes have faced things far more traumatic than getting placed in a cocoon.

True, but with no explanation as to how Chrysalis pulled it off and got them in those cocoons to begin with, it leaves one big plot hole that needs to be answered in some way in the Season 7 premiere to bring some closure to the Season 6 finale, and in a way that we can all accept.

  15. I can only see the royal family being used for exposition and hostage situations because most fans, at least on this site, still love the episodes even though their uselessness has only gotten worse without any attempts to answer them, and the episodes have consequently made less sense. Then again, the little girls watching probably don't mind either since they're the target audience, and this tactic has been used for 6 seasons. No reason to stop since it's been working for them.

Yeah, since the target audience is little girls and not us Bronies specifically, not much we can do about what is happening to the Royal Family at this point in the series. One can only wonder and hope if the writers will ever even consider showing mercy to the Royal Family in the future, or leave them in their current position for the rest of the series as nothing more than exposition and hostages to do with as they please while leaving Nicole, Tabitha, Britt, and Andrew with less and less dialogue for them as time goes on.

  16. Whether Celestia gets more screen time or not doesn't matter to me at this point because it's too late to fix all the mistakes that have been made with her, not to mention there's a lot the writers have to answer for. Not helping is that they've had 6 seasons to try something, and I can't think of a good in-universe or out-of-universe excuse for this. Even worse is that the season 5 finales flat-out states that only the Mane 6 as friends is more important than literally anything else for the ultimate fate of Equestria. I don't know how they can bounce back from that.

Even if that FF comic with Spike is taken into consideration, the blunders are too great to be fixed by one comic issue, and the comic also doesn't excuse how poorly the show has treated Princess Celestia overall.

You make a good point there. Six seasons into the series, and the damage done to Celestia at this point is probably irreversible. I wonder if the Royal Family will even get some sort of redemption from the writers, aside from helping to save the Crystal Empire in the Season 6 premiere, or they will be doomed to be used only for exposition and hostages from now on in any premieres, finales, or episodes they even make a physical appearance in, dialogue or not.

  17. I don't want to agree with this, but I have to given what has happened throughout the show.

I must say that I feel pity for the voice actress because she went in being told that she'd voice a powerful and important character, but that character turns out to be a supreme loser. Not helping is that Celestia is getting less screen time nowadays.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if Nicole Oliver feels her role as Princess Celestia is starting to become unnecessary because of Celestia getting less and less screen time and dialogue lately, especially with the Season 6 finale with Celestia not appearing until the late half of Part 2, and her only dialogue being talking to Thorax and then suggesting the ponies and Discord all head home for some recuperation at the Sunset Festival in Starlight's old village. If Celestia, and even Cheerilee, since Nicole voices both of them, doesn't get more screen time and dialogue in Season 7, I'm sure a lot of Celestia fans are going to be upset.

  18. Part of me wants this and another doesn't. The part of me that does is because it would show the event mattered that the Mane 6 took getting captured seriously and that it would be a wake up call for them and a whole bunch of other potential stories, like one of them falling to the Dark Side ala Darth Vader in order to become stronger to protect everyone.

The other part of me doesn't because I know the show won't be able to deliver and it would be at worse another excuse for Haber to write his pet above the Mane 6, treating their PTSD like a common cold that Starlight just needs to hug out of them. Another part also just wants to put the finale as far behind as we can.

Well, until we get news of the Season 7 premiere, like an animatic or preview of it, not much we can go on regarding what will happen there to tie into the events of To Where and Back Again to bring some closure to it. Whatever happens, I'm certain we'll either be impressed or angered by how they bring closure to the Season 6 finale in the Season 7 premiere.

Princess Celestia was beaten in public during "A Canterlot Wedding". From the looks of things, no one truly gives a crap. In "Twilight's Kingdom", all of Equestria was threatened with Twilight being the only pony that actually made an effort do do something about Tirek. I mean, no pony outside of the alicorns or the Mane 6 even knows about what happened with Discord. And if the other alicorns were useless against Tirek, I guess that means Equestria has a bunch of reliable rulers on top of things. So yeah, I doubt whatever happened at the end of season 6 will be acknowledged in a meaningful manner.

That reminds me of the Luna episode in season 5. She was beating herself up mentally and emotionally, and all that was needed was Twilight to say, "It's not your fault."

True, no one knew about Celestia and everyone else being kidnapped and replaced by Changeling fakes this time around except for Sunburst, Starlight, and Thorax, but unless something regarding the drones who took the place of the Royal Sisters tips off the Royal Guards that they are following fakes, who knows how Season 7 will open with everyone returning to a, in their case, a normal way of life.
