It seems to be a fact of life that most people have an annoying sibling. When they say "There's one in every family" they aren't far off. It seems to be knit into the fabric of life to forge
annoyancelove and tolerance among others. -
Saltines and 7-Up.
Tummy troubles today.

I was never very good at sports so I mostly avoided the team varieties (which was easy because they always avoided me). I prefer solo sports like swimming, which I'm pretty good at, and maybe Badminton, which I can play as a single.

I play Monopoly from time to time, and especially like the different versions like Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I'm going to get the Disney Theme Park edition soon, it looks so cool.
Aside from that, I play occasional card games (Crazy 8s is a staple of Christmas festivities). I remember an old game from the 1970s that my dad used to have (before me and my siblings destroyed it when we were young). It had two little pirate ships that shot plastic canon balls at each other to release a treasure compartment filled with coins. I wish I knew what that was called but I can't remember that part.

I wear reading glasses sometimes but they're mostly for drawing or doing artwork. I don't use them for reading anymore.
I could never be comfortable with contacts; I wouldn't be able to stand the feel of something sitting right on my naked eyeball.

I tend toward sugary cereals with marshmallows and bright artificial colors. My favorites are the 'special edition' ones that come out at certain times of the year like Frankenberry, Boo-berry and Count Chocula. Between times I have Lucky Charms or whatever novelty I can get my mitts on. I do try to alternate and go with Frosted Mini Wheats from time to time but I always have to bury them in sugar to make them palatable. I know that defeats the purpose of pre-sweetened cereal, but I have a sweet tooth.

There isn't just one kind of female. All the female ponies are depicted as feminine in their own unique ways. It's one of the reasons I love the show so much.
EXACTLY!
Femininity has too many facets to be encompassed by one type alone. I know complete tomboys that I consider feminine in their own unique ways. Sure, Rarity is feminine, but 'traditional' femininity depends on what you consider traditional. I think Fluttershy would probably fit many depictions of 'traditional' more closely than Rarity (even though Rarity is my favorite!)

It never seemed to me that the Brony fandom was all that obscure to be honest. Obviously it isn't as vast as Star Wars or stuff like that, but it has a respectable following among pop culture fandoms. Remember that MLP only became HUGE with FiM and hasn't had as long as some of the other franchises to gain steam. It also lacks the bottomless promotion afforded by Disney for its many properties like Marvel, etc. I'd say we're doing pretty well as Bronies, and that'll only increase if G5 continues the MLP universe in respectable fashion.

I'm wearing dark blue jeans, a beige thermal shirt and pink socks. (I know, the socks don't really go with the shirt. Don't tell Rarity!)

How about Cyber-Free Monday? No tech of any kind for 24 blissful hours.

'Smile' by Charlie Chaplin (1936, with lyrics added in 1954) is probably my favorite song, and most of the music from 1900 to the early 1960s (excluding '50s rock n roll) is pretty good with me. I'm not a huge fan of modern music.

The Prisoner: Dance of the Dead.
Star Trek (original): City on the Edge of Forever.
LOST: Deus Ex Machina.
Tiny Toon Adventures: The Looney Beginning.
Northern Exposure: Burning Down the House, and Seoul Mates.
Mission Impossible: The Mind of Stefan Miklos.

Definitely the Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge comics with Donald and the nephews! They're the all-time best! But I have to give some props to classics like Calvin and Hobbes, Pogo, and Mudpie. They're all so great.

Mine is dark brown and parted on the left. Lengthwise, it goes down to my shoulder blades. It's mostly straight, but it gets a little curly on the ends. I get it trimmed a little every two months just to keep it from getting too far out of control. I've thought many times about cutting it really short but I'm not brave enough yet to take the leap.

Psychiatrists cover a broad range of people with varying levels of competency, so I'm not going to make any blanket statements about those in the profession. Psychiatrists, like any doctor, can be exceptional or complete quacks. The book "Brain On Fire" is a fascinating account of how broad the science of psychology can be. I think a psychologist has to be intimately acquainted with the symptoms he or she is diagnosing and not too quick to jump to textbook assumptions. Some approaches to psychology are incredibly antiquated and as such are a danger to the patient, while new breakthroughs shouldn't be discarded just because they present a different approach A patient with mental problems is fragile and extreme care has to be taken with treating them. The best doctor is one who has experienced mental problems firsthand and has overcome them. That's obviously not always the case, but true empathy can be really helpful when it's possible.

Oh my, a new trivia challenge! I was too busy to take on the last one and it looks like the same will be the case here. I can't keep up with the cool activities just yet, but I wanted to wish the best of luck to all of you who can.
Happy Hearthwarming!

I love "Barbie: A Perfect Christmas," Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas," "Wakko's Wish," "Muppet Christmas Carol," and the glorious Baryshnikov/Kirkland version of "The Nutcracker" from 1977, to name just a few.

I liked the movie. (Yeah, I know, break out the tar and feathers!) I never watched the show so I have nothing by which to base any prejudice against the movie. So it's my loss and my gain.
I don't think this is a very popular opinion, but there it is. (Please don't throw rocks).

I absolutely would not augment my natural body with artificial 'upgrades' to prolong life. I have no desire to live beyond the natural human lifespan, and I wouldn't want to change who/what I am for any reason. The only exception would be to relieve a painful condition, correct a physical abnormality that prevents normal living, or repair something that's been broken. But these methods are more about maintaining what's already there, rather than changing the nature of life by making it better, stronger, faster or infinite.

I don't often post status updates unless I'm leaving the forums for an extended time, so I'm not usually around to be offended if no one replies. It's nice if they do but I don't lose sleep worrying about it.

My family and I went camping in the Cascades when I was younger and we hiked way up into the mountains. It took all day and my dad said we must have walked twenty miles. I don't know how accurate that estimate was, but it was a pretty good stretch of the legs.

I'm just going to toss in my vote for Girl, just to even things out a bit. If I were to choose a gender for an offspring, I'd probably be better equipped to handle a girl, being one myself, but I would adore either a little prince or a little princess. Either one would be so nice.

Hard to trim this down to a select few; there have been so many. But I'll toss in some obvious ones like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. I'm pretty fond of some cartoon characters as well but there are far too many to name.

I overthink way too much. Big things, little things, it doesn't matter. Even some things that mean nothing, or took place a long time ago can stir up my brain if I give them half a chance. It's really annoying too.
