@MisterRe @Dynamo Pad @Emerald<3 @Lucid_Nightlight @Pr0m4NV14 Crystal looked at the others, walking with them. "Yes, traveling by train to there is smarter. But it doesn't stop at the forest, closest it gets is at Ponyville, so we need to walk there." She didn't enjoy the idea of encountering the creatures that lurked in the forest, somepony here would have to face those for her. Since she didn't possess any spells powerful enough to defeat any. "But in the case we encounter these villains, or whatever else lurks in the forest, how are the less experienced of us supposed to defend ourselves?" She was solely referring to herself when she spoke, intending to stand back and watch the others get the crystal. Since for all she knew, she might have detective skills, but writing mystery novels doesn't give you that kind of skill. "All I could do is just stand there." she said, looking down at the ground, just mentioning it made her feel helpless.
-
@Dynamo Pad @Emerald<3 @Pr0m4NV14 She sighed, glad that he wasn't a extreme fan of the series. "Well my current interest is knowing how my mystery book writing skill applies to this adventure." Crystal said, chuckling a little at the idea. But soon after she realized, she had no idea where they were headed. Sure they were chasing some villains, but she had no idea where they were herself. "What location are we headed to, actually? Might've not been paying attention to it."
-
@Dji He chuckled a little. "Well it is a bit of a walk. But your motion sickness should subside on the way there." He turned to Canterlot. "And yes, I could take you there." He said, motioning with his hoof for her to follow him. If he was lucky, Crystal would be there on the way, where the inciting incident would begin. He smiled as he looked away from them, this was going to go perfectly.
-
@Dynamo Pad @Emerald<3 @Pr0m4NV14 Crystal sighed, so much for avoiding mentioning it, now Dynamo straight up asked her about it. Should've guessed that mentioning that she wrote books would've induced him asking. "Mystery books mainly, I prefer those since I can go into depth on descriptions and have every detail have purpose." She said, smiling to herself. She did enjoy writing a good mystery book. "You might have heard of what I write. If you're a Shadow spade fan." She said nervously, Crystal had only ever put her name on the book, never her face. To avoid being confronted about the fact she wrote it, and now she just opened herself up for a confrontation.
-
@Emerald<3 @Lucid_Nightlight @Pr0m4NV14 @MisterRe @Dynamo Pad "I write books Dynamo, but knowing that makes me unconfident that I am qualified for what we are about to do." Admitting this she felt a bit better, it wasn't like she planned to hide this the whole time, but at least she wouldn't have to feel like she had to hide it now. "This whole thing could inspire a book perhaps, depending if we make it out unharmed." She mumbled the last bit, again, she was unconfident she was qualified for this, but even sure if she'd make it out alive... "I'm just not sure what I'm doing here to help." She looked to Ursa when she spoke, tilting her head in curiosity. "I was just commenting on what Dynamo said Ursa, the only celebrity thing about me will just be this event." She wouldn't admit the books she had written, didn't want any fangirls to deal with. Especially if she was hanging around them through the entire trip.

@Dynamo Pad @Emerald<3 "It's, Crystal." She said, looking with him to Celestia, giving him a glance after. They did need to find this as a group, it wasn't like they'd win a prize for being the only one to discover the orb. That'd be silly. But with seeing how open this one was with his feelings about this, she sure felt much more confident in the others, but still not herself. "And I wouldn't expect a crowd of ponies cheering us on when this is over. If that was the case. I'd not take it well, being that I have stage fright." Despite being a writer, Crystal never did like when she had physical confrontations with her audiences, especially in large numbers, it was just overwhelming.
-
@Lucid_Nightlight @Pr0m4NV14 @Dynamo Pad @MisterRe @Emerald<3 Suddenly Crystal realized that Celestia was a tad bit cheezy with how she spoke, but wouldn't mention this to avoid insulting Celestia. But being told to find the reason herself? That'd be difficult for her. At least the guy with a chariot might've been more important than her. Maybe it was the popularity of her book, and Celestia wanting to see her favorite writer help Equestria, even if that was the case she'd still just be unsure if she was qualified for this. But to distract herself from these stressful thoughts, she looked to the other ponies. "S-so, how do you all feel about this? Saving Equestria and all, big deal isn't it?" She asked nervously, worrying that questioning this mission that was so important, would get her, kicked off the team maybe, which could be problematic if she had a bigger role in this than the rest.

@Blitz Boom Crystal did step back a little when he yawned and when he leaned down to look at her, but it wasn't exactly out of fear. Although she was just being cautious. "I've never seen a creature of your size or your species. So I was just curious, how are you doing?" It was a rather lame question, almost felt like the sphinx put in too much effort to hear just that one question. "Since a day for a creature like you must be, interesting at the least." She added, making sure it wasn't just that one question they heard from her. ====================================== @Blitz Boom Sapphire sighed to herself in relief. It was nice to hear she was okay. Nodding at the general. "Let's get to business then, whatever it may be now." She turned away, starting to walk out of the area. Astral walked aside Sapphire, thoughts now crossing her mind as she saw something up with Sapphire's mane, of all things to notice. She chuckled to herself. "Huh?" Sapphire looked back to her for a moment. "What's so funny?" "Nothing, just thought of something." Astral didn't want Sapphire to worry about anything. She figured it was only the air flow that caused her mane to move weirdly. Or it was magic, she wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. "What's the plan now, general?" She asked, looking to Tidal Wave. ====================================== @Blitz Boom Warlock was barely affected by this, his expression showed his lack of surprise, he knew full well that this amount of chains was necessary to hold him back. For all they knew he could cause the room to explode around him. But it wouldn't be possible, since there was an anti magic metal near him. "I was trapped in stone for hundreds of years, this isn't excessive, since I can actually move this time." He said, chuckling to himself. "A pony who's done what I have would certainly deserve this amount of chains, right?" He asked, desiring a bit of honesty to the question. ====================================== @Blitz Boom "Thank you, for reminding me. Even while able to read minds. I forget that you're, not experienced." He said, pulling out a book that just happened to say 'Magic for dummies' on the cover. "This covers how to control auras. Since you know that the one colored brown is yours, it'll be easier for you." Iron found himself hoping the spell wasn't wrong about which aura was Chow's, as he left the book on top of the one Chow practiced on.

@Lucid_Nightlight @Pr0m4NV14 @Dynamo Pad @MisterRe @Emerald<3 Seemed Crystal was too nervous to ask, she did step forward once called upon though, shaking a bit. Her of all pones? Although then it crossed her mind just how long Celestia had her picked in the case this happened. "M-may I ask a question?" She asked, looking up, trying to look confident but her voice revealed her true feeling about the situation, complete nervousness. But after her question, she would wait for Celestia to acknowledge her.
-
@Emerald<3 Crystal kept walking down the street, heading to the Canterlot . The thoughts still crossing her mind, why would you call a plain old writer? She'd have to ask herself, but talking to a princess would be a step above what she'd be used to. Being an introvert and all. Although now she started to wonder why no Canterlot guards came to personally pick her up, passing it off as the thing she was called for, not being as important as saving the world. But then she found herself at the Castle now, waiting for some guard to notify why she was here. "Maybe it's my deductive skills, which I lack." She said to herself, under her breath.
-
Crystal had taken a rest at the local cafeteria, clearing her mind to get better story ideas, Crystal walking back home from her break. She opened her door to find a letter on the floor in front of the door, she was quick to open it, mainly thinking it was possibly fan mail. Before discovering that it was a letter, from Princess Celestia herself. "Wait, what? Celestia needs me?" She said, putting the letter away in a satchel, before putting it on. "But why me of all ponies? I'm just a writer." She thought aloud, walking back outside after fetching some food to bring with her just in case, she was planning to resume writing her book, but today she could take the break to find out what Celestia saw in her that was so important. Taking the trek to the Canterlot capital.

@Pr0m4NV14 Well I'm now more intrigued why Crystal of all ponies would be selected. Guess I'll find out when it starts. -

ooc Race to the End (OOC)

Well I don't exactly have any OCs from appaloosa and it'd be easier to use one that I already have. It does seem like a interesting idea though. -
planning Roleplay, About Power Ponies
FanOfManyShows posted a topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
With my first attempt at starting a roleplay dead in the water, I figured I'd seek advice on this idea. My idea for this does have a OOC page written out in the testing area, it's just the power ponies world, but anyone can be a hero or even a villain in it, able to throw their OC in, and give them a superpower to boot (Not a OP one, of course). In it, the Mane-Iac is gathering villains to beat the Power Ponies once and for all, while they try to defeat the Mane-iac as well. But how would you make this idea more interesting, like what twist would you put on it to make it more original and approachable? -
@Blitz Boom On her way back, Crystal spotted the sphinx yet again, Looking up at it, alongside the many others there. Her train of thought revolving around her lost book was briefly interrupted by the sight. She already saw it. But now she was right in front of it, having noticed it when the shadow covered her. While she had more important things over all, such as her life's work being destroyed by an unseen pony, but she was taking a break from that to be more focused. "Eh, why not?" She raised her hoof up in the air, looking up to the sphinx, doubting the sphinx would hear her, but if it had she'd be yelling at it, waving her hoof at it. "Hey there!" She was quite the introvert already, only having one friend made it hard to talk to others, but talking to a Sphinx would be a step above that. ========================================== @Dji Zealous shrugged, walking over to them. "Well, not exactly." He looked to Canterlot. "There's probably a medicinal place that sells something to prevent motion sickness." He looked back to them, chuckling to himself. "In fact I could use some before boarding the train back to Ponyville, with a friend of mine." He smirked slightly, despite never talking to her at all, some part of him wanted Crystal to be a friend. But he knew this moment would give him the inciting incident the story mentioned, something that'd catch her eye for sure. "I do know where it is, so I can lead you there." ========================================== @Blitz Boom Suddenly Sapphire took a step back at the sight, putting a hoof to her head. "I really would hope she isn't, permanently injured." She put her hoof down, looking at Void. "Since I'd rather not see another pony disabled at my ignorance." She kept her distance from Void after speaking, ignoring the fact a sword was almost drawn. Astral quivered, she would've drawn a shield spell, but that'd only encourage the guard to slash her with the sword, so she only shook in fear. "W-well, I am curious to why she's under this security." Sapphire looked to Astral, raising a brow. "Did you forget she was carrying a, powerful artifact?" Despite avoiding saying the name, she still whispered it quietly. "She's probably important enough for this." ========================================== @Blitz Boom This was one of the few times Warlock found himself with a face of confusion, and also worry as he interpreted what they said in the wrong way. "I thought I was already strung up." He said, the expression turning sly, he tugged at his chains to accentuate it. "Or are these the anti magic chains I heard about?" ========================================== @Blitz Boom Iron Star's eyes glowed a weird color, seemed to be a color that was the combination of Chow's aura colors. "Agh, the auras both come from you." He grumbled to himself turning away from Chow to go looking at the spell book as it laid on the bed. "It could be a deeper tie to you than just the, oh. Wrong spell, that one just detects magic, not auras." He face hoofed, looking to the aura that was hopefully still enwrapping the book, his eyes glowed again, his eyes turning, a brown color. He blinked a few times after. "Of course, she uses blood magic, so the red part of it is hers." He chuckled to himself, but then just looked a little more, concerned. "Well, now you just need a better control of your aura, to be able to use just the one. More skill than most would have. You could figure it out right?" He looked to Chow, with a smile. There could be writing on controlling two auras, but this was a thing that needed to be dealt with quickly, in the case that Emerald's aura corrupted Chow's own magic field if used to much.
-
Crystal found herself with no evidence that could help her. Rather disappointed at the fact as she sat there, in her chair. For all she knew this pony was planning to steal the book, and publish it. She stood up, sighing to herself. "Well, as much as I already had the break. I need something to think this over with." She mumbled to herself, giving the crime scene another look over. She could hire a real detective to do this, for sure, the thought certainly crossed her mind as she locked the house door behind herself. But she couldn't risk the detective having the ulterior motive to just read a unpublished book. Deciding on a plan, look for it herself, and if that failed, seek help. "Maybe a walk, think about what was there, yeah." Her thoughts trailed off from there as she walked around Canterlot. ========================================== @Dji Zealous walked by the train, carrying a satchel on his back, contained within was the script he took from Crystal, but with the top closed over it,only a pony who was trying to look inside it would notice that there was paper inside. Chuckling to himself as he spotted a pony in the distance. "Motion sickness eh?" He said, smiling at them.
-
It was a bright day for Crystal, having just taken a break from writing for a drink at the cafeteria. She was already headed back home, but the strange thing she noticed when she got there, aside from admiring the view of the sphynx, a strange creature to see in Canterlot of all places. But that moment of awe was stolen when she saw her door was. "It's, unlocked?" She opened it slowly, as she headed inside, suddenly on guard. She was a known writer of a popular series, so the first thought came to mind was somepony stole her book before she published it. She rushed upstairs as quietly as she could straight to the room she wrote the book in, no pony was in there. The manuscript was, still there, with a vial of ink spilled over it. Fury burned in her eyes, swallowed by depression, her work was gone. Her memory could recall most of it. But not near enough to remake the whole thing. She ran over, parting the stack of papers that was the script of the book, getting the ink vial off it, shuffling through the pages. Pausing at the sight of the little writing that wasn't obscured by the ink. "Wait, this isn't my handwriting." She put the papers down, smiling to herself at the revelation, her work wasn't lost. "Then they have stolen it!" She looked around, now looking for evidence that could point to who it was. ============================================= Zealous sat there in his home, holding the papers in his hooves, shuffling through them as they laid on the floor, na. "Interesting story. So many details, yet no identity for the antagonist to possess has been written." He smirked, standing up. "Well done Crystal, I will give you a name for them then." He chuckled to himself, looking out the window, to the Canterlot train line. "So here's where act one begins, An inciting incident" He put a hoof to his chin, thinking. "But how do I get her on the train?" ============================================= @Blitz Boom Astral sighed to herself, Sapphire chuckling. As Astral felt uncomfortable with what the general said about Emerald, so Sapphire's chuckle surprised her. "Very likely, But you have the most powerful earth pony witch here with you." Suddenly the chuckle felt deserved, as it was only aimed to the later statement. "Well, as far as I know anyway." "Warlock did put us at odds for a while there." Astral was quick to point out. "He wasn't that tough, Astral all things considering. Either that or we've not seem him at his strongest." She exited the room, walking past the guards as she spoke. "And if you become worried of danger, just stay on guard." ============================================== @Blitz Boom He lowered his head, coming to terms with how society has developed seemed like a smart choice now. His magic might even be outdated too. "Making it out for good, seems like a, Interesting decision. Instead of hiding it like they used to for hundreds of moons." Finding himself without the element of greed, it was what set this reform in motion. But then came the worry of losing his goal if he turned good. "Let's just hope my past accomplice doesn't mess that up, right?" He chuckled to himself, what a day that'd be, making this magic out to be good. And then watching it collapse under their hooves. ============================================== @Blitz Boom The smile that came from Iron Star would seem undeserved after what Chow said, only solidified by what he said after. "Perfect!" "How?" Misty blurted out, probably about the same thing Chow would be wondering. "It means he can use his own magical field if he focuses on it, problem comes when he doesn't know which one is his, so it defaults to both at once." He looked to the book, he levitated it over, placing it where it started before this debacle. "So, try to levitate it. But don't lift it. It could allow me to figure out which of the two auras is yours." He said, observing the book. "If Astral was here though, she could sense which one is yours... Oh! Her ability can be replicated with a spell." Misty chuckled to herself. "Convenient, isn't it?" He shrugged. "Most of the magical abilities can be replicated with a spell anyway." He went to fetch another book, pulling it off the shelf and reading it. "You can try to levitate it as I use the spell, since it could be possible to control a contaminated aura. Nopony has tried, after all."
-
@Blitz Boom You probably shouldn't worry to much on fetching a new oc to meet these characters I have. I could figure something out, like say, Crystal might seek out a childhood friend of hers for help. But that depends which roleplayer has control over Velvet additionally. But hey, if that doesn't work out, there's like a hundred roleplayers here, although there might not be that many in Canterlot. I could just do what I did at the start too, and roleplay with them on my own until somepony passes by.
-
@Blitz Boom Probably in Canterlot, and yeah a split perspective would probably be how I go about it. So if I want Zealous to interact with anypony as Crystal tries to figure out what he is doing, I can. And Zealous will probably also start in Canterlot, I could even start the roleplay moments before the manuscript was stolen in the backstory.

@Blitz Boom @Dji "I'd not attack her now if he expects that, we need to talk, for once." She looked around the room, for signs of where Void could've gone. "But if he gives her the power of an element of disharmony, she'll never turn to my side again. Even in a time of crisis." Astral looked to Sapphire, standing near the blast marks on the floor. "You can take us straight to him if you sense him doing that." Astral looked to the general. "I assume we'll check if Void is there at the infirmary before we do anything else, right?" Sapphire sighed to herself, glancing to the general, a look of concern in her eyes. The weight of what Zhu had planned weighed on her a lot, as well as the concern that this general was only a house for Emerald to watch Sapphire's movements. She turned to look. "Yes, let's do that." ======================================= @Blitz Boom Warlock found a smirk and light chuckle exit him. "They won't like what case I'd have to present, miss. I am the reason they banned the magic I use, after all." The guard next to him, gave him a glance of surprise, trying not to break his stance. "Surprised they haven't banned unicorn magic yet, then." "They are born with it, the magic I use is something you learn." He chuckled to himself. "Right, unicorn magic is learned too." Warlock looked back to Hogweed. "What are your thoughts on this matter?" ======================================= @Blitz Boom The book only swayed around, Iron Star watching it tilt towards Chow. as it's movement only accelerated towards Chow, His own magical field enwrapping it before Chow could adjust. His eyes widened, Iron Star ducking as the book then flung over him, ripping it out of Chow's magic field. "Definitely something other than a magnet if that happened." He looked to chow, gasping softly as he pieced it together. "You didn't let him practice long enough! That's probably it." He looked down at Misty. "Misty, Chow's magical field is just unstable it seems, even if I let him practice, it would've fallen apart entirely when casting powerful spells." He pointed to Chow. "So from what I see, your magic field is two separate fields, judging from the two colors, which would cause the magical fields to battle for control." Iron Star returned to a standing position. "But unless Emerald left some of her magic field in you, there would need something else creating it." He leaned forward, walking close to Chow. "Can you think of anything?"
