well if he crashed your dream, than he's already have a work place for you. maybe it's only in his mind, but maybe not.

if someone crashes your dream and not give you anything to replace it... it's cruel.

p.s. it's hard to talk to someone about this kind of personal staff, without knowing them.

And now my Dad is acting as if nothing happened after that. As if the thing he did after that NEVER happened at all. My dreams have been crumpled and ruined many times. The thing I do remember is: It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, you can just be yourself.

so i guess, you didn't get the point of what i was trying to say... instead, you made it very clear, that you are kind and caring person. well, then it's just going to be a swamp of emotions between you and your dad. if you won't let it out, it's going to be very bad.

just stand up to him. show him what you've got!  it's all about psychology, try to understand what person is most admire of, and the speak to that person to a manner, that he's acknowledge.

try build up some anger, like Fluttershy in D&D episode, when she yield at Discord. sth like that. if your dad sees you like this, he will stop scolding you. cause all he wants from you is to be a man. and you don't have to be anything you're not. just play along with him, and give him what he want..

and i'm sure, that after that you can buy whatever you want and he will don't say a word about it.

Now when I'm in my room, instead of keeping the door closed at all times, instead, I'm going to keep the door closed, and locked at all times in case if my Dad is about ready to blow up. Except I will open it up in case if my cat wants to come in, but if she wants to go out I will open it up for her, and she's very nice about it if she waits too long, she's a very nice cat, and that's how she's been raised. She comes to me over Dad, because I'm nice to her. If she gets in trouble, I'm still going to love her no matter what, my Dad gets really mad at her.

I was using Toomey as an example, pretend Mr. Toomey was me, (but not like him) and the other man was my Dad which he is as mean as my Dad, minus the Langolier stuff. That's what he would do. If I was a girl, things might be different.
