I finally got around to seeing it and I thought it was pretty enjoyable.

For starters getting more character development for the Shadowbolts was much appreciated, seeing Rarity freak out is always entertaining, and the music video had some pretty fluid animation, and Dance Magic is a really enjoyable song.

If this is the kinda thing we can get if EQG finally becomes a full fledged tv series, than I am all for it.

I'm glad they were given development as they were pretty dull and uninteresting in Friendship Games. However, they didn't explain why Indigo Zap wasn't included with her fellow Shadowbolts as she is just as part of the group as the others are.

  2. I like Hard to Say Anything because it finally gives Big Mac a chance to experience proper romance without it being forced onto him. Granted, some of his actions were questionable and he could have done things a lot differently had the CMC not influenced him. A lot of people have shown disdain towards the episode because Sugar Belle came out of left field. She and Big Mac have never had any on-screen time or interactions with each other until the episode in question so some feel that their romance doesn't make sense--they also prefer him being with Cheerilee despite that being the result of a potion.

  3. I finally watched this one as intended and I must admit that it was pretty good though there were some things that never got explained which I attribute to time constraints. For one thing, where was Indigo Zap? She is part of the core group of Shadowbolts so why omit her? Also, when did Cadance receive her promotion as it were and whatever happened to Principal Cinch? I did like how Rarity was the main focus, a change of pace from the usual EQG flare we've come to expect, and we got to see the human world's version of Opal--and Rarity's house.

  4. It's an adventure game that has RPG elements though Zelda II: The Adventure of Link could be classified as a unique RPG. I also remember one time back in 1998 where Nintendo of America once declared Ocarina of Time as an RPG on their website.

I see your point, but promotional material says that the film took place during the summer and I asked ishi ruddell on twitter if it took place during Summer break and he responded with a perhaps, so I think it does somewhere.   It's probably not so much a school trip than a summer vacation trip, and the Principal Sisters are just their chaperons.

Perhaps means he cannot confirm nor deny the answer. Celestia did say that it was a class field trip given how they raised enough money to go on it in the first place and if you take the book, Twilight's Sparkly Sleepover Surprise, into account, it takes place one month after Friendship Games.

  6. It was a very good episode--I didn't cry or anything as it wasn't really that emotional from a viewer standpoint--though if it had one flaw, it would be that they waited until the seventh season before finally addressing the identities of their parents and their lives. Had this episode aired during say, season two or three, it would have had an even bigger impact than what it actually had, but this is no fault of the episode itself. If anything, the writers waited a bit too long for this one. The best part of the episode for me was hearing William Shatner as the voice of Grand Pear--I recognized him right away as he has as distinct voice--and he shows that even at the age of 86, he's still got it. I also like the designs of Bright Macintosh and Pear Butter, obvious nods to the Apple siblings right there.

  7. Of all the Star Fox games, I've played Star Fox 64 the most--it was also my first foray into the series--and still remains my favourite. However, I do have a soft spot for Star Fox Adventures because of Rare having developed it.

I felt the conference was a decent showing, but I am not entirely sure how people are getting that Nintendo won E3 by a landslide.

The fans attribute it to the announcements of both Metroid Prime 4 and Metroid: Samus Returns though I feel that's a pretty weak argument as one is a remake of an over twenty-five year old game while the other was just announced and has nothing other than a tentative name. I don't think Nintendo won E3 as while they did have some great games, there were some that I had to question whether they would turn out well or not.
