As some of you may know, I’m from Kherson region of Ukraine. So today is a good day for me: the city of Kherson is finally liberated. The best news in months.

@JonasDarkmane Thank you! Героям слава!

Thought I’d share some good news. Yesterday I saw my parents for the first time since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. They finally managed to escape from the occupied territory. I’m not returning to Kyiv yet because Russia keeps regularly shelling big cities. I try to live a normal life in my current location and even started watching MLP again. It seems the war will continue at least for the next few months, and I still hope my hometown will be liberated eventually. In the meantime, I’ll do what I can to be useful and help others.

One month has passed since the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia. My life and lives of millions of my fellow Ukrainians changed forever. Cities ruined, thousands of civilians, including over 100 children, killed by Russians, and a threat of mass destruction weapons is very real. They planned to take over Ukraine in 3 days, and almost no one in the world expected us to put up a fight. But we did, and we are still resisting. I can’t even begin to express how proud I am of my people.
I once again want to thank everyone who supports us and to ask you to at least share the links to Ukrainian charities from my profile description wherever you can. I hope to one day return to this site to talk about ponies and discuss G5, but now there are more important things to worry about, and I’m trying to do my part. I hope none of you will ever live through anything like this.-

I personally think this is just the beginning of something bigger and I deeply hope that I'm wrong. I'm not even afraid, I'm just sad... I think the best thing I can do is to try to be just myself, to be silly, to keep smiling. While also preparing for the worst. And learning. Your last post here inspired me to buy a scooter, which I wanted to do since a few years and finally did. It's a small thing, but I have to enjoy it while I can, right?
We don't know each other that well, but I hope we can learn more about each other when this is over. I understand there are things you have to do, but please, whatever it takes, stay alive. I wish the absolute best for you and your people.

I have moved from Kyiv to a quieter place. I can't say it's safer because nowhere in Ukraine is really safe now, as russian rockets have a long range, but at least I don't hear any explosions and shots fired now. Anyway, all people not directly involved with the military have been asked to leave the city. I hope I'll be able to return one day.

Two weeks of war. Only two previous nights were quiet, but only here in Kyiv. In many other cities and towns the russians are bombing maternity hospitals, residential blocks and schools, mining evacuation corridors and shooting civilians who try to escape. Over 60 children have been killed. We are facing the absolute evil, and it looks like the struggle will continue for a long time.
But we are resisting, even people in the occupied regions. Yesterday my parents attended a demonstration in my hometown, one of many in the invaded territories where people show the occupiers that they are not welcome here.Soon there will likely be a massive attack on Kyiv, and I’m not planning to leave my place for the next week. My main objective is to survive. A piece of advice to you all: enjoy life while you can, do the things you’ve always been meaning to do, buy the stuff you’re hesitant about, tell people the things you’re nervous to tell them. Millions of Ukrainians can no longer do those things, so go ahead while you still can.

Frankly, all this situation is doing is reminding me of how meaningless most things are. I do not live in Ukraine so of course I know nothing of the horror happening there, but why must humanity be so stupid to make such a war happen for no reason at all, in the year 2022. It shows me that all of the problems that humanity needs to overcome simply will not happen, because this species is busying fighting itself at every turn. I've become more and more of a nihilistic mofo over the past few years.
-
@Starforce I looked into ways to move out, but it's still pretty much impossible. Not all women and children have been evacuated yet, and I won't take their place. I'm in a safer part of Kyiv compared to some others, so I'll stay put for now.

One week has passed since the start of the full-scale russian invasion in Ukraine. I’m still alive, as are my loved ones, but over 2000 of civilian Ukrainians, including over a dozen children, have been killed by those monsters.
Don’t know how often I’ll come back to this site in the near future, but I’ll try keeping in touch. I don’t have any nerve cells left to burn. I’m almost desensitized to the sounds of explosions I hear every day and, ever more often, every night. I can’t even say that I’m afraid, because it’s a background feeling now that’s always with me.
But I know that I must be strong — we all must — and do whatever I can to help others. It’s our land, our people and our freedom. We fight for them.

Didn’t sleep well last night because of the explosions, and heard an extremely loud rocket (?) flying by in the morning, but the day was quiet. Russian invaders are being repelled by our heroic defenders and haven’t come close to my location yet.
Unfortunately, Belarus is getting ready to deploy its army against Ukraine, and the mad dictator Putin is threatening the world with nukes. At the same time the first round of peace negotiations is likely to happen soon.
Hoping for a quiet night. Thanks everyone for your support.

@TheGleaner Observing his behavior for over 10 years I can say he's always been like this, but now just showed his true colors to the whole world.
-
Well I mean I figured he was like this in private, but to say something like "I'm going to nuke Canada because they sent money, guns, and ammo" is...well a way to completely isolate you and your country at the very least. I'm thinking he wants to go out with a bang.
Also, in my opinion, I can safely say the US should have listened to General Patton now.

Another evening in Ukraine, another day of fighting off the invaders. We are staying strong and thank the world for support.
I still hear explosions from time to time. No sirens near me yet. Kyiv is getting ready for a new wave of attacks. The invaders are going mad, targeting residential buildings, dams, orphanages, buses and ambulances, threatening to shell power plants, and plundering the occupied territories. It’s going to be tougher before it gets better.
I once again ask you to share the charity links from my profile description wherever you can, Ukrainians appreciate every little bit of help. Thank you!

@Starforce Right now it's pretty much impossible, but my location doesn't seem to have any strategic or military objects that may be shelling targets.

Heard explosions in the distance. Before that dogs outside were howling and barking like crazy. This night in Kyiv will be tough. It’s only been two days, but it feels like eternity.
-
Russians are launching rocket strikes on Kyiv. Their troops are approaching the city. It's a peculiar feeling - knowing you can die any moment now.

Syrens and gunfights inside Kyiv. So far, only small groups of Russians entered the city, local defence forces are liquidating them.

It’s evening in Ukraine. I’m still alive, thanks to our defenders. The situation is terrifying. Russian invaders almost fully occupied my home region, including the town where my parents live. They have also seized the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, which is a danger to the whole Europe. Many people have been killed, both soldiers and civilians, but we are still fighting back.
I want to thank my friends for their support. If you want to help Ukrainians, please see the links to charities in my profile description.
Now I need to survive the night. -

I may soon leave this site and probably the Internet. Maybe forever. My country, Ukraine, is under attack. Russia is bombing our cities. My parents are at the frontline now, they've just called and said they are hearing gunfire. I know, political topics are not allowed here, but it's not politics anymore. It's life and death.

This looks horrifying, and ponies are in it for some reason.

@Sparklefan1234 It's a matter of personal taste, but I prefer 2D in this case. Still, not a fan of this trend of mixing live action and cartoons that came back lately.
-
I would usually prefer 2D over CG, too but I don't really like the cel-shaded look of Chip clashing
with the CG look of Dale.
-
@Kyoshi that's 2 things we agree on.
