I like the idea of ponies being humanized, but like Mordecai said, they need to be done correctly. Plus, I have my own preconceptions of what each of them would look like, and if they are depicted too differently from that, I can't get into it. But I'd certainly like to see more humanized work be doing to compare and contrast with.

I can't speak for the whole world, but what I've seen in America is fairly promising. In just the past several 100 years, women got the right to vote, gays/lesbians have obtained more and more support throughout the nation, we've gotten our first black president, and racial divide has turned on it's head into racial diversity. In general, I'd say society is becoming more and more tolerant to new ideas, that of which hundreds of years ago you'd probably be thrown in a nut house for Now, there will always, always be a large amount of people that will be against things, and that'll never change. However, the society norm that was established long ago is definitely altering in increments, every generation.

If you use the full edit page by clicking 'Upload Files + More Reply Options' on your post, near the bottom of the box it shows how to upload attachments. Use them instead.

If they were to change the theme to a darker one then the show would lose what drew me in in the first place. That was, and still is, the sheer fact that a fillies show with little violence/ dark themes manages to captivate me and my attention. Any show can come along and pack enough violence, blood and badassery to make me like it but MLP is about cuddly themes that actually draw my attention in, something that I never would have expected to happen. To change the themes from cuddly to dark would be, to me, like changing my fiction book into non-fiction. It just wouldn't work out for me and I would surely lose interest.

 

Then again, Dashie vs Hydra would be a pretty intense battle to watch...

Indeed :3 Cute and cuddly is a guilty pleasure of mine that I've always enjoyed, and MLP is the largest concentration of I've ever seen. I never want that to change either, because it would feel like a different show.

I think she has a home in Cloudsdale, but she fell out of it and landed in Ponyville. Her parents are looking for her, but she can't fly high enough to reach Cloudsdale and she is too ashamed to admit that she fell out of her own home.

 

Wow, though I find it the least plausible scenario of all, that certainly is one of the most creative ^^ Kudos for making me chuckle in my sleep-deprived state.

Welp, earlier in this thread I talked about how it didn't matter to me, cuz Dashie's gonna be her awesome big sister (<3)...but I suppose I should offer my opinion on the parents, after all.

Judging by the fact that death and abandonment are all but off the table for a show ideally made for a younger audience, I'd say the next most possible scenario on where the parents are is traveling. It could be that they live nearby and that Scootaloo lives with them, but the fact is they've never even been mentioned, just like AJ, Big Mac and Apple Bloom's parents. And it should be noted that with them, Lauren herself said she assumed they were entrepreneurs that simply couldn't be fit into the story yet. There might be a similar situation with Scootaloo, in that she sees them very little due to their lifestyle and work choice. That's my simple, best guess.

When people chew loudly. It goes beyond pet peeve for me. It bugs me SO much. Why do you need to open your mouth and be loud? Eat your food without being annoying. My younger sister does it, and it drives me up a Fluttershy.

More intense enemies, would be a major upset. I just watched 'Ballad of the Brony' again on Youtube, and the guy was talking about how the staff put in all these monsters, but made them funny or do funny things often *like how the hydra would hit it's head, then laugh at it's other heads for doing so*, in order to not scare the younger kids. If the show somehow developed to an older audience, the monsters and enemies would be more intense, there may be a lot more physical combat, in which some of the Mane 6 may get hurt occasionally or more. There'd also be more intense themes, some darker themes as well.

I wouldn't be totally opposed to some more darker themes, but things should really keep the way they are. The way it is, is still gold.

But that's not fair, you can't just say something and run away without discussing it! That makes your opinion irrelevant.

 

If I was a lone soul in the woods who ate mushrooms and lived away from everyone, and of whom had crazy ideals to overthrow the empire that nopony agreed with, then yes, my opinion would be completely irrelevant, because it isn't like anyone else shares those ideas, and is going to discuss or fight for it. That's not what's happening here, though. I share the same opinion, that chat isn't needed, as many other people. I wasn't here at all to experience the chat on this particular site, but I've experienced chat features on all sorts of forums before, and I've got a pretty good idea for how they work, and the social issues they can cause. That's what I had been saying earlier. Reading through many of the comments in here, it appears many other people, people who were in fact here, have the same opinion.

So, if you view my opinion as irrelevant, that's your choice, but just because I'm not personally interested in debating the issue, does not mean that there isn't a collective opinion that the chat is not needed for reasons X, Y and Z.

Trying to make sense of something that has Discord in it? What is this, I don't even I don't support the pairing, but they're paired because they both love to laugh, they both love to have fun, they both love to party, she loves his powers that bring chocolate rain, etc etc. *shrug*

Your opinion is your own, but good to know you're not a biased homophobe or anything ^^ Respecting the rights of the idea, and the rights for others to happily enjoy what they like, is the most important thing.

Yes it does :3 You have your opinion on how chat works and what it's effects are, and I have mine. I have no interest in debating with you, or anyone else here. It's not my thing. I gave my two cents, gave some immediate responses, and that's all I plan on doing ^^

No it doesn't. It promotes user activity and community interaction, along with forging friendships (that's where I met Finest, moose, swift, etc). I've had far more fun and made far more friendships through chat than the forums.

 

Not to mention that if a person sees a topic they like, they'll post in it regardless, and a topic will be formed if it's interesting or good enough for long term discussion. Hell, if a person decides to take their topic into chat, then the topic wouldn't have been good enough for forum material anyway.

 

All chat does is take away the pointless topics and ridiculous rambling by letting users spill out little discussion ideas.
