  1. >quality discussions

    >on mlpforums

If anything, the death of chat caused the quality discussions to drop because people took their rambling and spam into the forums.

Not sure where you're looking, but I see plenty of good discussion. And as you say yourself, 'As for the quality of chat, that could've been fixed with a few banhammers.' The problem with chat for me is that it draws attention away from posting because it is it's own little entity for interacting. Every single forum I've ever been on this is exactly what happens.

  2. Eww, chat. I don't care about mod numbers, if you'd like to chat, go to Skype or another off-site location, imo. Not having a site that drags people into sitting and talking about whatever and not having quality discussion is a great thing to have happened to this place.

  3. 1: Help her out, as I've been writing fanfics for 6 years and would love to assist her <3

2: Blink in confusion, because I'd question how Twilight would get beaten up by a unicorn nowhere near her in strength.

3: 'Hope you switched to Geico.'

4: Tell them it's a stupid show they probably shouldn't be watching, and that I don't even watch it or like it myself.

5: Ask them where I could find Dashie |'D

6: Sit and stare, waiting for her 'Mmmmm, juicy!' line.

  4. .

    You spelled Fluttershy wrong :(

Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy do have a bit of history together, and do share quite a few moments together. You have to wonder why Pinkie Pie and Applejack, as well as Twilight Sparkle and Rarity, do not have more screentime with each other though. Feeling Pinkie Keen does seem to hint that Applejack has known Pinkie Pie for some time, however.

    Fixed.

Indeed :3 RD and Fluttershy were friends since before the six met, so that's probably why.

  5. Completely intentional. Having at least two characters for each pony type allows more possible plot-points revolving around each species' individual skills and events. For example, 'Hurricane Fluttershy' was made largely possible due to Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy both being main characters, so that they both could interact with each other. It also just makes sense categorically to have a pair of each one.

  6. I like this topic :3

My first choice goes to being Applejack's slightly younger brother. She can be both affectionate and caring/understanding, but also knows when to put her hood down and be serious, and get you with the program if you're not doing what you're supposed to. I'td be a very pleasant experience to work and play with her, as well as Apple Bloom and Big Mac, whom together, I feel would give me a lot of space to adapt to different types of people. That is to say that they're all different in personality and age, so spending time with all of them would be very beneficial.

-To Applejack, I'd be the helpful younger brother who helps her out whenever possible, and of whom looks up to her quite a bit, due to her outgoing personality and unflinching work ethic, both of which I lack at.

-To Apple Bloom, I'd be the older brother whom is a bit more interpersonal and outgoing than Big Mac, but not by enough to shadow over him, but more like providing a contrast. I'd hang out with her and AJ in town whenever possible, and would always be interested in helping her with whatever CMC-related problem she's encountering.

-To Big Mac, I'd look up to in the way that he knows AJ and Apple Bloom more than I do, and that he's more wise than me in general.

My second choice would be, dun dun dun, Rainbow Dash. My assumption is that me, being nineteen in two weeks, am a bit older than her, unlike AJ, whom I assume is already nineteen. I'd be the brother whom loves her for her sparky, flashy attitude and personality, but also tries to mellow her down when she blows her top. I'd do my best to give her the contrast of a mellow, easy-going personality, of which I'm good at and that she usually lacks. I'd also enjoy hanging out with her, or, simply being available to hang out and do stuff with if she ever finds herself bored. I'd be the type of sibling who she could call and at any time of day, and I'll be happy to drop what I'm doing as long as it isn't important, and go spend time with her.

  7. She's just a filler character if you ask me. She has about as much personality as the official Vinyl Scratch.

    *headbob*headbob*

Wow, that opinion makes no sense to me; do hope you're joking? xD

Applejack is friendly, loving with her family, wise on things she's experienced with such as siblings relationships, as she taught Rarity what it means to be a sister, and though she can be stubborn and find accepting help from her friends hard, she does her best to live up to the expectations of those who believe in her, and will accept help when she absolutely needs to. She's dependable, ironically loyal like RD's element, and is altogether, a very mature role-model whom is down to Earth, among many, many other things.

Anyway, basically what Fizzle said earlier. Applejack is down to earth, mature, and in my opinion, also has the least stand-outish of all the personality errors. Stubbornness is, like most of AJ's good traits, not very flashy. Unlike every single one of the other ponies, AJ doesn't usually do sudden spontaneous things. Her personality doesn't suddenly switch into psycho mode like Pinkie, she doesn't have outbursts of emotion like Fluttershy, she isn't OCD psycho like Twilight, and she isn't dramatic like Rarity nor RD when she get's freaked out. The worst she does is become a stubborn as a rock, like we've seen in The Last Roundup, and that isn't flashy.

I love her though, because she's a great role-model, a fabulous sister, and a really cool pony in general. I wish she'd get more attention. We need some more AJ-centered episodes in S3.

  8. I find this unfair because I have no adorable pics on my laptop, I'll be right back....

Why does everyone feel like their computer is the be all end all? xD I use the internet. Google Images. Takes five seconds.

  9. As I have said, I want a Scootaloo-centric episode which shows her with perfectly functioning parents. In fact, it would be funny if they wondered why Scootaloo was never around the house; it is almost as if she were missing.

Save the Dark tags for fimfiction.net. I would be tremendously surprised if she were homeless and/or had no parents. In the vein of Chaotic Discord, I think they omit Scoot's parents so that they can more easily build a sister-like or student/mentor relationship between Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash.

I could easily see the sister-like relationship working even if she did suddenly show to have parents, to make a point, though. There could even be an episode regarding the conflict of the parents not approving of Dash's often 'rowdy teenager' reminiscent attitude, but in the end, they're shown that Dash does care for their filly in her own way.
