Tiny Hoofs

I'm a teensy bit disappointed since they are major secondary characters. Obviously I didn't want them to play a major role, but I was hoping for a greater presence. Like maybe something closer to 10%. But that's just me. I really like Starlight and Trixie.

I thought this thread was related to the month of release. In which case, I personally would have preferred a Summer release date because I'm off of university. I go back in October. But I can understand them delaying it to an Autumn release due to competition or whatever.

As for the year of release, I think a better year would have been 2013. They allocated a lot of resources and time to Equestria Girls during that year and I think season 3 wasn't as good as a result of that choice. I wasn't that big a fan of Equestria Girls so I don't think the trade-off was worth it. I think it would have been better if they allocated all of their resources to a full movie given that the fandom had reached it's peak at that point and internet hype would have been crazy.

But overall, I'm just happy we're getting an official MLP movie at all.

Meh, I don't care. Every fad has a peak. A lot (but not all) of the activity towards the beginning was comprised of bandwagoners who were trying to catch onto the latest pony craze. They most likely moved onto other crazes when they appeared, like Undertale and Pokemon Go and Overwatch. It's sort of natural for things to plateau after a while when all of the hype dies down.

I was actually around in 2011-2013, but left after my life got really busy and I disliked some of the changes within the show. I recently started watching the show again this year and tried to get involved with the fandom. The show is still doing well and there's a lot of healthy and active interest in it. So I don't think the fandom is virtually dead. I personally prefer smaller and more closer-nit communities anyway. But that's just my preference.

Even if the fandom did ultimately 'die' one day, I'd still probably watch the show now and then. But that probably wouldn't be until long after the show ended.

Well, I am actually a vegetarian. A lacto-ovo vegetarian to be exact. So while I generally don't eat meat, I do sometimes eat eggs and milk. I'd imagine that my diet is quite similar to the ponies on the show considering that you sometimes see them eating foods containing milk and eggs.

It wasn't really a decision I based around the show. A lot of my family members are vegetarian, so it was something I was more of less already accustomed. I don't really like the taste or texture of most meats to tell you the truth. So it's more convenient to be a veggie. Don't necessarily have anything against meat eaters...or vegans for that matter. I'm a live and let live kind of guy.

Being vegetarian is probably one of the reasons I love herbivorous animals the most. Especially the hoofed ones!

By the looks of the trailer and Twitter updates, I'm glad they're not shying away from showing some of the action scenes!

Well, horses are herbivores. So I can't imagine them eating much meat.

Even if Fluttershy was an omnivore, I'd imagine her being vegetarian or vegan anyway.

I like Bethesda's games, but not for the reason I think most people like them.

I don't think Bethesda are great at creating RPGs. They're good at developing sandboxes and worlds to explore. But when it comes to storytelling and giving players choices in the narrative, it's really lacking. Take Elder Scrolls for example. While there's a lot to explore and the lore is pretty interesting, the storyline is always pretty bland and forgettable. And I hate how none of your choices constrain you at all. You can quickly and easily become the leader of every guild and face no consequences. Morrowind was a lot better for that. It's kind of sad how the Bethesda's games have been progressively getting stream-lined to their detriment since Morrowind.

I did like how Fallout 4 gave you the choice to join one of multiple factions. They obviously took inspiration from Fallout: New Vegas. It wasn't anywhere near as robust, but it's a start. I did hate that there was an overemphasis on shooting and a lack of choice in some parts of the game. And I hate how they gave you a voiced character with a very established backstory; it killed the role-playing aspects for me because I was always forced into the role of a parent looking for their baby. I don't think Bethesda are going to do justice to a voiced protagonist given their track record with storytelling, anyway. They're never going to compete with CD PROJEKT RED or Bioware in that regard.

For future games, I think Bethesda should just focus on creating a good sandbox world and try giving more depth to some of the RPG elements. And stick to voiceless protagonists!

Pretty great! I recently got my exam results back. I averaged 1:1s (>70%) in most of my modules.

Some of those modules were hard! Especially Molecular Genetics and Proteomics.

I have autism! Well, specifically Asperger's. It's kind of a blessing and a curse in a lot of ways. On one hoof I find it very hard to be social and I'm very socially awkward, and on the other hoof I perform very well academically and can quickly learn a lot about any subject that interests me. I'm not sure if I would want to be "cured" or whatever. But help with my social issues is always appreciated.

It's not surprising that this show has a lot of autistic fans. It is basically a show which teaches prosocial morals which are easy to understand. The fact that the characters are animals, they're very expressive and their interests are well-defined also probably explains the hype.

I don't really care if people want to call bronies autistic. I try not to let it bother me. It's pretty mean to use ableist insults, and those people probably aren't worth my time. With any luck, calling things you don't like autistic will go out of style just like calling everything "gay" or "retarded" past the 2000s.

Probably a yak because they're one of my favourite things about the show.

Although I'd also consider being a sheep, goat or a donkey. Just to be different.

Very impressed with the animation. It looks like 18x better than the show! And I really like the show, so that's saying something.

Really like the action sequences. And some of the humour looks good. The intro actually reminds me of the one to the SpongeBob SquarePants movies.

As long as the franchise is still commercially viable, they'll continue it. I doubt they will just arbitrarily pull the plug at some point.

I think they'll retire G4 at some point when they can't continue it any longer. I just hope G5 will be good as G4.

But that wouldn't explain how Pegasi are members of the same species as ponies if they're exclusively related to dragons and griffons? Normally there would be a bunch of genetic, mechanical and developmental barriers to fertility and Pegasi would not be able to interbreed with other ponies, if that were the case. Pumpkin cake can be born with wings despite being born to Earth ponies; this suggests he has some pegasi ancestry. If you're saying ponies in general are relatives of dragons, and griffons, that's a very odd choice because griffons are mosaic hybrids and dragons resemble reptiles.

But I do get your point that evolution doesn't create radically new parts of the body without first changing existing structures. My personal head canon is that most of the creatures in the show evolved naturally, but some of the more weird, fantastical and mythological creatures came about by magic.

So horses/ponies probably evolved naturally from older creatures with more than one hoof (e.g. Eohippus and Mesohippus) as they did in the real world. But by the time ponies evolved from horses, they discovered magic and were then divided into the Unicorn, Pegasi, Earth pony and alicorn subraces. The very few alicorns ultimately being the most susceptible to magic.

I like all the animal ones! Like Bamb x Faline, Simba x Nala and the Lady and the Tramp.
