  1. @K.Rool Addict No, Anne was not. Diana Berry's Aunt Josephine, who was very wealthy and both girls visited from time to time, remember her?  Well, in the books, she never married, lived with her female best friend all her life, and gives Anne a lecture about how, even if she never married, she still had a very full and happy love life. Anne comments on how difficult it must be to lose her best friend.  And the scene goes on.  I did a double take when I first read it. It was subtle, but it was there.

  2. Ok, I'm going to put my 2 bits in.  I really don't think it should become an issue in MLP due to the age demographic. With that said, why is it so popular? Well, it's taboo and it isn't.  Some places it's more taboo than others. It's also nothing new. There are college literature and film classes dedicated to early references to bi/gay/lesbian relationships in early art and film.  If any of you are familiar with the Anne of Green Gables series, there's a pretty obvious reference with a character that has a recurring role, but isn't the main cast.

It has become much more prevalent in anime, but why not?  Very often older teens or adults are the primary audience that anime is targeting.  It's obvious when there are genres called harem and, let's not forget hentai.

You can connect a controller to a PC. Any of them ever if the appropriate adapter exists. So, PC has consoles beat on that front.

I know this, my roommate loves emulators, but not all games that can be played on a console can be played on a pc.

  4. It all depends on what you're playing.  I would never want to play Civilization (any) or Hero's of Might and Magic, on a console, but I love my Harvest Moon games.  There's also something to be said for putting my survival horror on the big screen and turning off the lights.

  5. Oh, and I forgot, forgot... blocked out, same difference.  Inspector Gadget.  It leads to violence, trust me, I'm a victim.  I was four and I was at my babysitter's house with her two kids.  It was a lovely afternoon, her son suggested to play Inspector Gadget. He was Gadget, I was Penny, and his little sister was Brain, the dog. The boy went over to a pile of bricks and shouted,"Go! Go! Gadget brick!" and proceeded to throw a brick into the air as high as he could.  The brick, an innocent victim of gravity, did what all victims of gravity do, fell fast and hard, right on my head. I screamed, and bled profusely. I had to get stitches, so I was more emotionally traumatized. The moral: Inspector Gadget leads to violence through sheer stupidity.

I've lived in Arizona almost my whole life near Phoenix... its a pretty big city, with mountains and desert surrounding us but despite being my home state I'd prefer being else where. I'd love to just live somewhere I can notice the seasons change... I'm not sure where I'd go exactly that's the problem. My friends are trying to convince me to move out to Wisconsin with them, and unless I get other plans I think I might just do that.

I live in Wisconsin. I have never lived any place else.  Let me give you a suggestion.  If you do move here, don't move further southeast than Milwaukee, and stay out of Kenosha.  I'm not kidding there is a long standing joke around here.  Kenosha is nicknamed the k-hole, because it is a terrifying black hole-like vortex that keeps sucking you back in no matter how hard you try to get out.  It has a small town feel, everyone knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows you, and people can be two faced. I really don't know why.

But that is one small area of Wisconsin. It seemes the further north and west you go, the nicer people are.  One of my best friends was living in Madison, had lost his job because of medical issues, and he said that not only his friends, but acquaintances were willing to help him out until he got on his feet.  Not to mention, Wisconsin has excellent doctors and pretty good medical care.

All that said I would rather go to Michigan.  Wisconsin doesn't allow doctors to prescribe something that Michigan does.

  7. Ok, let us look at the episode Over a Barrel.  The ponies move into the Buffalo's sacred, ancestral land.  They plant their apple trees. Then they get offended when the Buffalo are angry.  The episode comes to a climax of "war," I know no-one truly gets hurt, but that's the sugar-coated reality of what happens. In the end, what do the Buffalo get?  Limited access to their land and some pie.  Pretty shady dealing on the ponies side, that's what I call a bad trade.

I am 3/4 Native American.  I had a few small issues with this episode, but not enough to get angry and start a big stink.  I thought the Native Buffalo could have been portrayed better, but then again Pinkie Pie busting out in her saloon girl dress, singing and dancing a can-can dance, made up for most of it. Now, looking back, the ponies definitely shafted the Natives.

  8. I'm not her biggest fan.  She also lost some points when she stole the spotlight of what I thought was going to be a fantastic Pinkie, Maude, and Boulder episode.  While there has been some decent character development, and l will admit she has helped Twilight Sparkle in some ways. I really wish the writers would keep her big flank out of things for a while.
