Rainbow Dash does deserve her element. I agree she has ego and is unkind at times. But think of the struggles she goes through, she chose her friends safety over becoming a wonder colt. I agree with you. She has proved herself worthy so many times. Like in this image.....

Now let's start with Twilight Smart, ambitious powerful. She is Ravenclaw though she could be the Hermione of the series Applejack Though she could be in hufflepuff I clearly see her in Gryffindor! She is brave and sporty and confident and hardworking. Rainbow Dash She is the bravest of the group and though she is ambitious if you remember when twilight finds out about pinkie sense in the scene with the hydra she says "What would a brave pony like Rainbow dash do?" Gryffindor! Fluttershy No questions asked. Hufflepuff! Pinkie Pie Pinkie makes friends easily and is kind. Hufflepuff! Rarity Confident and though she is girlish she makes up for it with her can do attitude. Gryffindor! -
I think it is best to make her Zeus. In power ponies she was able to make storms and lightning. She is in charge of the weather and her cutie mark too.

Some constraints: They live on their own. Fluttershy is one year older than Pinkie Pie. Princess Luna were banished to the moon for 1000 years. Princess Celestia is older than Princess Luna. Princess Celestia is around 10,000 years old in the premiere Despite the fact that Granny Smith looks pretty old, Princess Luna and Celestia don't. Spike is younger than Twilight Sparkle, (I know that Spike is not a pony). We know that Twilight Sparkle has coursed magic kindergarten, so we can assume that she is at least more than 6 years old. Since no pony is studying in a college, we can assume that they're at least 17 or older Using flashbacks and sizes for reference: Fluttershy when she got her cutie mark was biggest in size. Rarity was allowed to use sharp things. Applejack traveled without A guardian. Therefore according to me: Applejack: 20 Rarity: 20 Twilight: 19 Fluttershy: 19 Rainbow Dash: 18 Pinkie Pie: 18.
