  1. Are we seriously about to have this discussion once again about how your free speech is apparently being destroyed by the left, when that isn't actually happening in reality?

Freedom of speech protects you from the government. The government can't hold you accountable for what you say. But people have every right to look at you funny is you say something stupid. If you get called out for calling a mentally disabled or an autistic person a retard, you are not being censored, your being reprimanded, and rightfully so.

  2. I’d say Fluttershy. Most of the season 1-4 episodes completely over exaggerated her personality to the point where she looked like she needed therapy. Not to mention she constantly had to relearn the same lessons over and over again. The most recent seasons have improved with this, and have allowed her to expand on the lessons she learned, like in Flutter Brutter and Fluttershy Leans In.

  3. Why does the quantity of episodes a character gets matter more to you than the actual quality? I've been seeing you rave about how Pinkie and Fluttershy apparently don't get enough episodes all the time. How much screen time/episodes one gets shouldn't matter(Unless it feels downright forced or spammed, like season 1 Twilight), the quality of their moments should. I get that's it's your opinion but it's bound to be challenged if people disagree with it...

Honestly, the only good thing about this episode is the fact that we finally got confirmation that Twilight was the one who raised Spike, not Celestia! Why it took them eight years to establish that Spike and Twilight are practically family, I have no idea!

...I thought this was already obvious.

  5. As a Spike fan, am I the only one who isn’t surprised that we wouldn’t actually see his real father? I know it sounds a bit cynical, but I kinda knew this would be a fake out, and I was mostly anticipating how the writers would handle Spike himself, his relationships with the others, and how he’d handle the reveal that Sludge was faking. And I think they did well on that part.

Edit: I also love the way Sludge was handled. A lot of people were mad because he was an irredeemable POS, but he treated exactly that way, and that’s he was handle so well. He didn’t need to be complex, he didn’t need to have a completely logical reason to do what he did. He’s just a terrible “person” and that’s all.

  6. It usually doesn’t take one thing for me to call an episode bad, but Luna revealing the she was hurting herself, and the mane 6 just telling her to get over it really perturbed me, especially when it actually worked. That’s probably the only case of one thing ruining an episode.

  7. I honestly don’t see the issue here.

Not it many people praise this just because it has a black cast. It’s not like we’re just completely dismissing it’s other merits. People are praising it so much because it has a great story, great characters, and other great merits, minority representation is simply a bonus. Don’t understand why people are getting riled up about this, when they’re just enjoying the movie. Let people enjoy there things.

    Otherwise, I agree with @PacificGreen

Banning a flag won't do much, since people can still goes around and showing off their "white superiority"like idiots they are.  Then there's a Neo-nazi we have to deal with..

True, but I feel that it’s a good start, because it shows that we don’t stand for it.

  9. The confederate flag represents what the south in the 19th century stood for, and that is slavery, and racism, point blank. The people holding on to it are simply holding on to the mentality that slavery is ok. Not to mention that it nearly broke the nation apart driving it to Civil War.

This isn't about celebrating the Confederacy or racism.

....that’s literally why people still wave the flag, and why people got so angry about it being banned.

History is an important part of our education. Even the most detestable symbols from centuries past have to be preserved. Otherwise, how are people supposed to learn about the Confederacy if our government wants us to pretend it never existed? I'm not exaggerating. Civil war-based movies and video games have been pulled from store shelves just for containing images of that flag.

I haven’t actually seen this happening myself, but we still have history books, and I agree with @PathfinderCS about keeping it in museums.

You are right about one thing, though; history is important... which is why you need to know the racist undertones of the flag, as myself and many other replies have stated.

And this is exactly why crimes against humanity will never stop. It's all part of an elaborate process to keep the people dumb.

The only crime against humanity in this case is the waving of the flag. And it’s happening because the people supporting the flag haven’t gotten over the fact that they lost the war. They’re the ones that need to get over themselves. And if anything, allowing the flag to stay there, saying that it’s just “represents history” is keeping the people dumb, especially if they believe it’s okay just because of that claim.
