  1. Truth be told, I wasn't. And I'll just quote, I forget who dang it (pretty sure it was Spike or Twilight)... "I'm sorry Shining Armor, but most of your friends look the same" And I dunno why I was thinking he had a more white coat :/ ah well.
  2. See, I didn't even fall asleep. Just I heard it and as it continued my mind slowly woke up :/
  3. Well, I don't usually do this when watching a show... ok I have stopped after watching a few shows and talked about them or parts of them. But I'm going to go ahead and give my thoughts on this episode. So first thing I wanted to comment on was the 'asking others for help' flashback. If it's in order of who she asked, I have to say, why'd she ask Rainbow Dash first? I mean you'd think Twilight would be her first choice, given how organized and reliable in 'managing' she can be. And she obviously knows a bit more about fashion considering well, she arranged those outfits in that fancy way in the episode this boutique was getting started. Rainbow Dash claimed to not even know anything about fabric Rarety: "You've gotten over shyness problem so many times" Uh... it's not really a shyness problem here. Fluttershy is in an area that's she's not as familiar with. Granted she's got that 'strange sowing knowledge' but doesn't mean she's familiar with fashion to assist a customer like that. Fluttershy: "I'm afraid I don't know enough about fashion to satisfy these customers" See, even Fluttershy realizes my point The rest of the episode wasn't half bad, though I thought the 'I'm fluttershy again and now for the apology' felt a bit... random. Feels more like she didn't fully feel like she did anything wrong since she was 'in character' :/ and the apology was more because she felt she should than actually meaning it. But That's just my opinion.
  4. OOh, nice. You like 2 of my top 3 Ponies Starlight being the other ofcourse Yeah. I find that odd too. Sadly, I also have a problem with TV in general. Seriously, even if I'm either not interested or dislike it or what not... I can't help but look at the TV when it's on.. no matter what's playing :/ In fact, it's pretty bad. This one time, my brother, his GF, his friend, and I went to see a movie in theaters... then we returned to said friend's house to spend the night. I was dead tired at that point. Like I'd be asleep within a minute of closing my eyes. Then "Hey let's watch a movie" *sigh*… and it was even a movie that I had not only seen but I disliked one part of the ending so I was like, yeah I'm just going to sleep. But the dumb movie woke me up... and I watched it and... funny enough I was the ONLY one who lasted the entire movie without falling asleep. And I couldn't get to sleep after it was over. :/
  5. I binge just about any thing I usually get into. I can't help it. My dad think's I'm weird. He can't understand how I can "Sit there and watch the same thing for hours on straight." Also thanks for the welcome
  6. Incredibly fast? Hmm... it took me I'd say uh... hmm... how long did it take me to marathon the entire series... huh... it was either 2 or 3 weeks :/ Cuz I finished my Marvel Movie Marathon (in anticipation to watch Avenger's Infinity War) in the week of the 8th. (which I think I finished it around the 10th.) ok just double checked and watched the final movie (Black Panther) on the 9th. Then I watched a few other movies on Netflix since I got a free trial to watch Captian America Civil war since my dad's copy was missing. Then I tried to watch the MLP:FIM episodes I hadn't seen yet (ended up reWatching a few Season 6 episodes but *shrug*) and then I watched all of Season 7... but at that point I wanted to just reWatch the series (as it had been a year or two since I watched it) thus I started over... so probably the 13th-ish is when I started it again. And I even reWatched Season 7 and those episodes of season 6 despite debating on rather I would or not. So yeah... took me like 2 weeks to watch MLP: FIM Seasons 1-7 AND the EG Movies (all 4 of them) and the EG specials and miniseries. I mean yeah it may be pretty fast But, tbh I probably have more time on my hands than most people. I'm a full time online student and we usually have like 1 or 2 things to do in a week.
  7. So this is probably one of the few times the series covers Romantic based love. (not counting showing character's parents). I mean you have Spike's crush on Rarity, Rarity's crush on that writer/blogger, Shining Armor and Princess Cadence, Big Mac and the love potion , Big Mac and dang forgot her name, and now this one. Though, I'll admit, I'm surprised they used the term "boy" Friend. Instead of some pony based equivilant. I mean, they rearly use the words boy or girl and use Stallion and Mare. (and other pony terms). So, aside for that, am I the only one who kept on thining of Sheldon Kooper (is that spelled right?) From big bang theory with Maud's BF? Might of even been the same actor doing the voice. (PS: I've only seen like an episode or 2 from Big Bang theory, but I've heard enough of his voice via commercials and the like.)
  8. I'll be honest... I'm still not fully sure how I feel about the school thing. Don't get me wrong it's an interesting concept and I'm going to see where it leads. But my primary issue is that I feel like the series may shift more away from the Mane 6 and go to this next generation of students. As in shift the Mane 6 to supporting roles and focus on the students more. Granted, you 'could' argue that Starlight did something similar... but imo it wasn't exactly the case. For starters she wasn't a 'next generation' tbh... and I always seen her more as being added as like an unofficial member of the Mane 6. But that's just me. So I have a feeling the students will take more over the series. Again still looking to see what happens but *shrug*.
  9. Yeah, I've always wondered why some ponies are like taller than the 'norm'/average pony size. Also makes me wonder how long Pony's life spans are. But most likely it was just a stylized choice. Unless age does come into factor.
  10. Well, lots of magic in these pony like creatures, so rearraging a city wouldn't be too hard. But tbh, I agree with the others, probably wasn't really meant to be looked to much into... and we're even assuming we seen the majority of the city and not just like a section of it... and/or that's just the best they could do (or wanted to do) with the city for the movie.
  11. I'll admit, the 'extra nations' was one of the things I was a little... well, I dunno. Personally, I dislike it a bit as it just... I feel like it messes with some of the lore bits that was established so *shrug* So I think it's more a 'bugs me' but I can live with it. I mean, Yeah I get that equistria is just a single kingdom/content but well... Ok, just the way the FIM series seemed to be saying that the main population on the planet were Ponies and pony equivalent (Zebras, Donkey's, Mules, etc). You also had a few mythical creatures and other 'farm animals (cows)' that have sentience or what not but it still was Ponies being the main ones. Even in I believe Season 4 ep 1 (or one of them) the 3 princess' met with deligates from other kingdoms.. and they were ponies. But then in the movie, seriously it was like these Ponies were primarly only in Equestria and outside of it they were kind of small and insignificant... maybe even a collector's item.. (seriously the mane 6 was about to be sold...) And they acted like they were like super rare outside of Equestria… Which just ugh... Seriously, the Princesses of Equestria control the night and day, so why are they so 'rare' outside of it? So yeah it just bugs me :/
  12. Truth be told I wasn't really planning on buying the movie. I mean since it was cannon with the series,if I ever decided to buy the seasons of the series in box sets or what not I may have included it then, but otherwise wasn't planning on buying it. However, I was doing my MLP:FIM marathon (watched the entire series from season 1-Season 7) and I wanted to be caught up. I thought Hulu had the movie (dumb clip thing) and thus I renewed my Subscription to hulu to watch the movie.. but well as Said, it was a clip/trailer thus not the movie. I was a bit annoyed... I was set on watching the movie (yesterday... 5/27) and can't go into town... so I got on Amazon. I could of just rented it, but I was like "Well, may as well get something I can 'keep' from my troubles" since I had renewed my Hulu subscription so I just bought the Amazon version of it. Plus, in case I wanted to Marathon the series in the future, I can now just watch the movie without paying any additional costs.
  13. I don't think I've noticed Flash Sentry's pony form in the FIM series I mean I seen him in the ending of EG 1 but otherwise :/
  14. Truth be told I can see why the movie got mixed reviews. Me personally, I thought the movie was ok. I liked a lot of the premises the movie had to offer, but I found it disappointing in a few aspects. Biggest one that bothered me was the 'climax' of the movie. Which I feel could of been done better. I can go into a bit more detail on it but it'd require spoilers so :/
  15. Honestly makes me wonder what the results of the encounter would be. I mean, I can think of a few generic scenarios in which the other Sunset will show up. Which most involve Human Sunset trying to frame Pony Sunset.... though I feel the story is too similar to the already 2 they have (Forget me special and Rainbow Rocks to some extent).
  16. Hope this doesn't sound confusing. But obviously, in the EG series, there's references to the main series FIM. But so far it's been mostly a one-way street. Meaning, you don't really get any Sunset references or the human world references in FIM (that I've seen) with one exception. That exception being in the Season finale of Season 7 where the siren's show up in a flashback and we get to see how they were banished to the EG world. (admittedly the flash back's not featuring them but the pillars but still). So, anyone else see any other ties ins to EG in the FIM Series? PS: if they're in season 8, you can mention that there's one in there but please don't spoil the episodes.
  17. Just an interesting question that I had been pondering. But as we all know, in the EG dimension, there's a human version of just about every pony from the FIM dimension. The Sunset Shimmer from the EG series is from the FIM dimension. Thus that means there's still a Sunset from the EG dimension that's not shown up. Do you think she ever will? Or will she just remain missing.
  18. Hmm... if I'm honest. I'm not sure. I like both shows equally tbh but I'm not fully sure if I would of actually cared about FIM had it come out 2nd. I mean, The fact that they were humans and then suddenly ponies... I dunno, I just feel it would of been a little weird. Granted, it could of been a bit interesting but *shrug* I guess it really depends on how they did it. Like, if they set up EG like it's been. As in magic from the FIM world is coming into the EG world. It could be interesting to see that side, though honestly, I think they may have adjusted it to where the EG girls were unigue and just crossed between the two. So :/
  19. Thanks for all the welcomes. And yeah, Starlight's my favorite Pony Admitedly, when I originally was doing my first marathon of the series (a year or 2 ago) I was debating on which Pony was my favorite. While I do like all the Mane 6 characters I was trying to narrow them down to 1 tbh. Which, I'd have to say, Rarity and I think AppleJack were the only ones that I didn't really consider to much. Don't get me wrong, I like both of them just they didn't have the uh... quality/personality that I was looking for. Fluttershy I think I considered for a bit too, forget why I changed my mind. :/ Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash were pretty top and I enjoyed all three of them. But I think Twilight really takes the spot when it comes to which is my favorite of the Mane 6.
  20. Oh, forgot to mention I did include the EG Movies/specials in my marathon. Granted I didn't watch them in their timelined order (as I just paused in Season 6 I believe to watch them) Also it's kind of funny. MLP: FIM is probably the first series where I could literally turn around and start watching it again, as soon as I finish watching it. Seriously, the first time I watched the season (season 1-5/6) I started watching season 1 again after I finished Oh, I also wanted to mention, I'd say my first interest in the series (aside again the popularness of it and seeing it on Netflix) was back when I was a kid, I seen the My Little Pony Movie refered to as "Escape to Crystal Castle" Which I think it's pretty cool how many characters were taken from that movie (seriously, didn't even realize the main villain was used too... until I looked it up.)
  21. Hello. As I said above, I'm new and I'm fresh off finishing a MLP: FIM Marathon. Watched episode 1 all the way up to the MLP movie (and 3 episodes of Season 8). My favorite character in the series would have to be Starlight Glimmer. (Sunset Shimmer would have to be my 2nd favorite). Uh, not fully sure what else to say. So uh... hi! :)
  22. Not sure how old this topic is but I wanted to comment on this as yesterday I finally got to watch the MLP Movie and I found this aspect a little disappointing about it. Fair warning, I'm assuming everyone has seen up to Season 7's finale (and I'll be mentioning something on Season 8 ep 1) and all the Equitria girls movies and the 3 (or 4) specials (particularly Mirror Magic) With the spoiler warning out of the way, first of all I wanted to address something from an earlier post. Granted it happened most likely before Season 8 Episode 1 came out but I still wanted to make note. But in that particular episode it made it pretty clear that the Movie takes place between Season 7 and Season 8. Now on to the main topic at hand. You see, I honestly was a bit disappointed in Starlight only getting a brief cameo in the story as she's currently my favorite character. Admittedly, I'm perfectly fine with her taking a backseat and not even going on the main quest with the others just what bugs me is the fact that it makes no sense as to why she didn't get involved in some way. I mean they could of easily added a background scene or something of her getting captured or something but in a way I was thinking of it and tbh I think they should of done one of the following imo. 1) Removed her cameo entirely or at least shifted her cameo to after the day was saved. Because putting it where they did I just find caused more issue than it helped as it doesn't make any sense that a powerful pony such as Starlight didn't get involved at all. Not to mention her friends were in danger, so seriously. With this one, you could at the VERY least assume that Starlight was simply not there. Like I'll admit, I seen Equistria Girls special: Mirror Magic before I seen the movie and from what Starlight mentioned, I assumed that it took place during the movie. But for those who don't know. Starlight takes a trip to the EG dimension in that special and based on what Starlight said about "The girls are away solving an issue" personally I think it would of worked well for why Starlight wasn't there and that's what I had assumed. But sadly if you go by more what she said and then the movie, well she's obviously not referring to the movie. (unless she was but if so she did a really bad job at referring to it.) Plus at the end of Mirror Magic, she was told she could stay a few more days, which while it's possible there was a few days time skip to reget the friendship festival back in place, it was assumed it took a few hours. But alas, it wouldn't work but still you could assume that Starlight was away and thus simply didn't know what was going on... had they removed/moved her cameo. 2) Now, I get the fact that adjusting the movie may have been difficult as the story was in more production from before Starlight really became a good pony. But there was a spot in the movie that would of not only given her a 'role' in the movie but also explain why she wasn't more of a help. And it wouldn't require any real adjustments to the script. Anyways, in the scene where Storm King's minions first show up to the festival and started to capture the Princess'. Now when the 'magic ball' (dunno it's name) was going for Twilight, Twilight was saved at the last moment by Dopey (that's her name right?). Personally, this would of been a great place to add Starlight. As in have it where it was Starlight who saved Twilight instead of Dopey. Wouldn't of been to much of an adjustment, she didn't even have to say anything tbh, and the psycho-out (audience and tempest thinking she got Twilight) didn't even last very long, as in she realized it pretty fast. I think it would of been funny for a one-liner similar to in the episode Triple Threat where Ember kept confusing Starlight with Twilight (you're a purple pony with purple hair and with star cutie marks with shiny things ) But not required of course . Anyways, this would of been a good spot to of added Starlight without even needing really any adjustment to the script and small adjustment to the animation. So yeah, that's my oppinions of what they should of done. But I would also like to make another note of why the Pillar's of Light didn't do anything, (aside for them not being introduced until literally the last episode before the movie) Simply put, they were traveling and thus not even there at the festival to know what happened. Not to mention in the Movie's time.. the events lasted I'd say a maximum of 48 hours (if that) so while StarSwirl could of just teleported there, really it's more than possible they didn't even hear about it until it was already over. You could of even made the same excuse for Starlight... if she wasn't literally there... which if the EG special WAS her reasoning, could of simply been she was told off camera or something to head back to Ponyville to deliver the journal. And she can also teleport long distances so wouldn't of been an issue there.
