  1. I remember the movies.

My parents bought me the first two movies on Video-CD. The only problem was that they were dubbed in Russian and I do not understand Russian (not that I understood English at the time), so I had one of the parents watch the movie with me and translate it for me. It being a VCD meant I could play it on my PC which was really cool at the time - playing a movie on a PC. I was also really into dinosaurs at the time.

A few years ago I bought the first 4 movies on Laserdisc and watched them The first two movies were good, but it felt a bit like the quality has been going down (or, maybe, I am just way outside the intended demographic). There's also the fifth movie on Laserdisc, I'll probably buy it if I get the chance.

  2. Different media for different purposes.

File storage in a server - hard drives.
File storage where you need high performance - SSDs.
Backups that would be done frequently and kept online - hard drives.
Backups that would be done infrequently and kept offline - tapes.

  3. When I was a kid, I sometimes listened to audio performances (where there are multiple actors who play characters, not just one narrator telling a story), either on the radio or from a cassette. If there was no TV, I probably would be more into them.

I do not know if I would listen to MLP G4 though, as I was attracted to the cute characters first. Not seeing them probably would have reduced my interest. If there was no TV I probably would read more books, but, again, I do not know if I would buy a MLP book as when I read a lot of book, I always was looking for Science Fiction or Detective stories and MLP is neither.

  4. It depends - if it is possible, I catch it in a small box and then throw it out my second floor window. Reason - I don't need to clean the squished spider from the wall.

However, in some cases I just kill it (especially if it's trying to run away). With other bugs, say, a moth, I use a transparent sticky tape, stick the bug to it and then squish it. usualy there's nothing left on the wall.

One time I saw a small spider on the wall, but was unable to reach it (my room is cluttered), so I sprayed it with isopropyl alcohol, it either poisoned or drowned the spider.

  5. Absolute zero on both. Drawing was one of the hardest subjects at school for me. Similar with writing. I can draw a stick figure, that's pretty much it.

I can do technical drawings though, or at least I could do them in University, by now I probably forgot most of it, but I could probably fire up AutoCAD and figure out how to draw a bolt or something.

  6. I swear a lot sometimes, especially if something unexpected bad happens (I hit my head, drop something etc), the curse word, usually in Russian, is pretty much automatic. However, I try really hard to not swear in front of clients and I think I'm successful at that.

Me too. I also am waiting for the new season of Youjo Senki, though no idea when it is going to be complete/released.

Follow question guys same exact question as before it won't be about your waifu but about your soul mate.

I don't know if I have someone like that, but killing a real person is worse than erasing a fictional character (though I would not go to prison for it). Still, losing my stuff would be awful, so, I guess in this case "the only winning move is not to play".

True, the other choice does make them real though of course.

Yeah, bus basically the other choice means randomly (since I don't think I have a waifu), if I ever find a character I consider to be my waifu, I just lose all of my money and things and get transported to some random place.

Honestly, if you said that was going to happen to me, I would probably stop watching all fictional media for the fear of losing everything and being transported to a random location, presumably away from my friends etc.

In that whenever you do find a waifu within 10 seconds she'll be erased.

I don't think it's a big deal. I mean, let's say I find a "waifu" watching some show. She's just fictional, a collection of pixels. After my choice, I guess the show would disappear with the character - I don't think it would be a big deal. Maybe I'm just not attached to TV shows? There are some TV shows I really like, but if they disappeared tomorrow, I would be a bit sad that I can't rewatch it again, but I don't think it would that bad.

However your life will be in a simple town and you have little in the way of money

So, not only I would not get any money (reasonable), but the money and things that I have would be taken from me? That makes my choice easy. Well that and the fact that I do not really have a "waifu".

So yeah, give me the money. With that much money, I could invest it and have a great life from passive income, not having to work for money anymore. I could do stuff for fun, maybe volunteering at some heritage railway etc.

It is that people point fingers at Celestia as though she had any control over what happened. Luna was the one that snapped.

99% of the blame goes to Luna. She decided that not having enough attention warrants staging a coup and possibly killing a bunch of ponies (when Celestia and Luna fought not all magic beams landed on their intended targets, so I'm sure there was a lot collateral damage).

However, Celestia shares a tiny bit of the blame because she ignored the situation and let it fester until it blew up in her face.

The punishment for treason in many countries is either life in prison or death (and in the past there sometimes was a worse form of death penalty reserved for treason), so Luna got off easy in a way, only spending 1000 years in prison (we don't know how long alicorns live).

Also, as I understand, the banishment may not have been the intention of Celestia. It seems that the Elements work randomly - they turned Discord to stone (twice), banished Luna the first time, but exorcised/brainwashed her (depending on your interpretation of what Nightmare Moon was) the second time.

  13. It's an episodic TV show, most of the episodes are pretty much stand-alone stories and you do not need to watch all of them to enjoy the show (in comparison, Babylon 5, The Expanse etc are basically very long movies cut up into episodes). Because of that, you cannot be sure that the audience has seen the previous episode (especially if it was a while ago), so you have to inform it of the relevant facts. There are not many ways to do it.

Yes, we here have watched all episodes, in order, starting from the very first one, but the target audience may not have diligently watched all of the episodes and instead started watching at some random episode and then only seen some of them (ones they were able to catch on TV).

  14. No, I don't think so. I'm quite OK here and would not want unforseen consequences. They say "grass is always greener on the other side". This applies both to real and fictional places.

Any fictional place that is interesting to watch/read about is likely a crappy place to live.

That being said, if I could go to pretty much a copy of the real world, but become immortal and get a lot of money, I think I would do it.

et's be honest, who here has actually bought and played The Day Before when it was still on Steam?

One of my friends suggested it as our next group game. Since it was advertised as an MMO I immediately rejected it (others could play it without me), then I saw the bad reviews and after a few days the news came out that it was basically a scam. I don't think anybody of us bought it.

In general, I dislike MMOs and will not play one. If a game is advertised as a MMO, I immediately reject it.

I prefer single-player games, but playing coop games with friends is fun too. I played Borderlands, TPS, 2 and 3 with a friend and played Raft and Valheim with a group of friends. We are currently playing Barotrauma. We also tried Void Crew, but it was a bit too repetitive for me, so we decided to wait for some content updates before going back to it.
