Ionic Sunset

@Blitz Boom The Opal- for what else could it be at the pony’s neck- shimmers faintly, unnaturally. This creature of exoskeleton and crystal, it feels as if one soul, yet once two. A gentle brush of magic easily dismissed as ambient. A testing metaphysical lick, yields… An answer. The shimmer fades, as if a trick of the light. Inactive once more, the elder being of no true interest. No true interest to one party, but to another the being practically embodies beauty. She slowly shakes the awe from her mind though, her four wings ruffling at the silver tips. Once she realizes she’s been staring, shakes her head to clear it, and recalls all that the creature has said. A queen? Gemlings? Ancient perhaps, taking ‘there was a time’ at face value? Dragonfly steps from the bush, her irises shifting into curious circles of amethyst from their more organic purple. True amethyst, a creature of living gems would know. With the sun shining on her coat, it takes on a metallic sheen. Unlike her eyes, she’s obviously not truly made of gold, and her wingtips aren’t truly silver. Yet she shimmers and shines as if she were. Silver wingtips glowing in the light and golden coat shimmering, as if she stepped from a shower of liquid metal. The only thing to give it away is her ruby mane having the same metallic shine. Only her eyes are truly made of precious stones at the moment. With a smile, she bows faintly. “Nice to meet you, Queen Dia’Thiz!” Standing back up, she extends her wings and puts a hoof to her heart in what’s clearly a foreign formal greeting- by the practiced nature of the movements. “I’m Dragonfly from Shimmer of Sunstone in Geode, technically foreign ambassador considering I’m the only pony outside the cave… Hi!” Shaking her head- as a negative instead of to clear it this time, “I’m not here for your diamonds, I’m here to explore the surface world! I mean, you’re really pretty, but I don’t have the ability to get stuff from the pillar you came out of…” She looks off in the direction of her camp, “Or really anywhere to keep it if I did?”

@Blitz Boom Right sorry. I’ve only gotten my motivation to write back the past few days, and I completely forgot about this. Not used to having… Anything I need to keep up with on this site! I’ll have a reply up by tomorrow.

@Blitz Boom Dragonfly halted her breathing for a moment. She had been in this forest for no longer than a week, but she had already found something that interesting! One golden ear flicks as the two voices continue speaking as one, her head turning to the sound. Letting herself breath again now that the explorer has acquired a direction to travel, her eyes shift into joyful citrine. Careful, watching her every step, making no more noise than necessary, Dragonfly peers through the foliage. The sight is incredible. Her ears stop picking up the words, eyes widening as they focus on the crystalline creature. The creature within barely registers either, though she wouldn’t know of the changelings anyway. She’d often been teased and messed with back home for her tendency to lose the thoughts in her head when faced with something shiny or pretty, but up here it hadn’t been that relevant yet… Until now. The golden mare with a ruby mane and sparkling purple eyes had forgotten stealth. She barely remembers to breath, sitting with her hooves pushing open a bush for her head, staring. Very clearly visible.

@Blitz Boom Well, given how long this has the possibility of running, I don’t feel uncomfortable making this one of her first encounters in Equestria. Not her first, certainly, but only a month after entering Equestrian borders. Probably randomly in the forest. Early in her time on the surface, she’d still be in a mindset of thinking civilization is sparse and the real adventure lies outside it- a result of preconceptions from home.

@Blitz Boom Sorry I don’t know how to put an @ above a quote on mobile. If I even need to? Maybe I’m double @-ing? But after my last message this was the last time I was @-ed. At-ed? Can you use an ed after the symbol? Very obscure grammatical questions, and incredibly irrelevant. Anyway, my last message was the one right before the message of yours I quoted. Oh that’s how you quote after @-ing! Good for future reference. Nice to be typing here again.

@Blitz Boom I didn’t want to say anything in case you were waiting for a chance to get around to it, I know your ability to write has been sporadic- to say the least- all year, so I didn’t want to seem like I was rushing or anything. But since it’s been a few months, just a little bit of a reminder that I exist. Can absolutely wait as long as I need to, just don’t want to be forgotten.
