Had a caravan come in today, then cranked up and tried to taxi away but forgot to pull their nose wheel chocks.
Like this just to give you an idea of the distance from the nose wheel to the propeller.
And I shit you not they waved me over to the door, leaned over, and loudly asked if I could remove the chocks while they were cranked, and when I said “No it’s too risky!” They were like “Well the prop is feathered and all!” And I said “And it’s still going to chop my arm off if I screw up!” So a bit agitated they shut down, and I got the chocks for them.
Some people…. Smdh. Dunno who they think I am, but crazy ain’t it.

Well I’ve been waiting on the status update notification glitch to go away, but it unfortunately sounds like it is a feature, and not a bug after the upgrade. So now the only way to be notified of updates is by selecting the option where I’ll also be notified of every post the people I follow make on threads which could get annoying fast.
Looks like I need to get in the habit of using the streams.

@Sven Glimmer Creating our own platform entirely would likely require more resources than we have available to us, I'm afraid. Though it's always possible for us to tinker with the one we have, and major updates like what we've just had aren't all too frequent. The problem with sticking with an 'older' version for too long is that eventually you start encountering potential security issues that simply can't be ignored on a public community where private information can be shared.

Maybe so. But we still have the blank update bug. How long does it take to fix something that should be so simple?!
QuoteYeah I dunno. It sounds like a feature from what I’ve been told, but I hope it’s just a misunderstanding on my part.
@AppleButt If it's about the blank status updates, then now these are bugged, of course it is not an indented feature/change.
QuoteBut I’m totally down to finding the contact for the software hosts and bugging them with emails lol.
*cough* *cough* if you scroll down to the very bottom of mlpf, you'll see the line in the footer saying "Powered by Invision Community". Aaaand *cough* *cough* it is clickable, it will take you straight to the dragon's lair where you can throw Fluttershy in to do the thing. *cough* *cough*
It is not exactly something I'd endorse doing, but... from some point of view... if many people would go there and complain for real, there probably would be higher chances of them listening and reconsidering their choices. After all, they ask for money for this software, so "it better be good", if I could phrase it that way.
QuoteBut even if these things get "fixed", our MLP Forums will still get affected by changes they make in the future, right?
I'm wondering if it's possible for us to be independent, so that their changes don't affect us anymore. Basically sticking to an older forums version or the current one. I can imagine that it might be illegal or something, I don't know. So I'm just asking if it's possible.
Basically yes.
Not updating is an option. To be fair, Invision in average releases updates every month or two, often with small security improvements only though. If I'm not mistaking, the last time MLP Forums was updated (excluding this recent one) was at the beginning of 2021, so MLPF already skipped over a year of updates (about 10+ versions) until now.
But as Dark Horse said, among new features, optimizations and stuff, there are security updates, that shouldn't really be disregarded, for too long at least.
Sadly, among all that stuff, there also are these unwanted changes... :c

Been waiting eagerly for a product I ordered for two months now. Saw where it arrived to my post office yesterday to be put out for delivery. Then got a notice in the mailbox that the package was too large to put in the mailbox, and I’ll have to come pick it up my self. The post office doesn’t open again till Tuesday. What happened to them bringing it to the door when that happened? That’s rural mail delivery for ya I guess.
My impatient ass ain’t got time for this, yo.
