Episode 6: The Appearance of Kurogasa or Visitor From the Shadows
    Brohoof's: 4/5 Content Rating: Teen
It is raining, ladies and gentlemen. Screams erupt from a mansion, shrouded in darkness. A man systematically murders everyone in the house, seeming to be petrified with fear. It's a bright day at the Kasshin dojo, with a full house for breakfast. The problem, Kaoru was the cook. The police chief strides in just in time to stop a full scale war between Kaoru and the visitors. The chief asks for a favor, to aid in the arrest of a serial killer. His targets prominent imperialist politicians and is code named Kurogasa. Announcing his targets, he slays all in the area, including women and children. Kenshin understands the thought process, and takes the mission. Kenshin, Sano, and others hoping to claim a bounty on Kurogasa, are gathered in a ballroom to protect a man who has been targeted. as the clock counts down, the outside guards are killed. Suddenly, from an open window, one of the bodyguards falls. The man finally shows his face, ugly with age. He speaks down towards the hired hands. As the first wave is slaughtered, he paralyzes the others with a look. Kaoru can't sleep, worried about our hero. At the mansion, Sano nearly breaks free from the spell. The technique is one based on fear and hypnosis. With that information, Kenshin knows the man as Jinei Udoh. The tow would have been bitter rivals before the end of the war. But Jinei was (and is) too bloodthirsty, killing both friend and foe. Back in real time Jinei chooses Kenshin as his new target. Sano breaks free, and attempts to aid Himura but is dismissed. The two swordsmen due battle, and seem to be evenly matched. But it isn't enough. Jinei gives Kenshin one day to train. He goes off by himself to regain his skills. Worried she will never return, Kaoru goes to seek him out. Some sentimental moments are shared, but before she is able to return, she is kidnapped, leaving the end with a cliffhanger almost too much to bear.

Episode 5: The Reverse Blade Sword Vs the Zanbatou or Beyond the Battle
    Brohoof's: 4.9/5 Content Rating: Filly
Early in the morning Kenshin is caught doing the laundry. As Yahiko and Kaoru confront the hero about facing the fighter for hire, he ponders the reason that his opponent has so much hate. Sanoske, meanwhile, reflects on his past, to prepare. From a short flashback, we learn that Sanoske's mentor was the captain of a group supposedly fighting for peace. The memory is quickly interrupted bu the presence of Gohei. Angered by the way Gohei was sneaking, Sanoske leaves. Dr. Gensai, comes to visit the dojo with his granddaughters. While Kenshin and the girls play, the doctor exchanges the rumors he has heard of Zanza. According to Gensai, Sanoske was one of the original Sekihoutai. The Sekihoutai were a first line army, but what the government told the public, and the Sekihoutai were saying were in conflict. Having believed to have mislead commoners they were executed. Little Ayame and Suzume (Gensai's granddaughters) return to the dojo without Kenshin. When asked where the swordsman went, the pair answer with Sanoske. Yahiko and Karou rush to stop the fight. They find the couple dueling on the edge of the river. Locked in battle, Yahiko and Kaoru are forced to sit this battle out. Finally, as Kenshin seems to win the battle the flashback picks back up. We find out that the Sekihoutai were used as a sacrificial lamb when the government could no longer hold up it's promises. Sanoske had to watch as the entire group of friends and comrades were murdered. Muttering words under his breath, we return to the battle between Kenshin and Sano(ske). suddenly, Gohei jumps out of the bushes and shoots at Kenshin. The bullet is deflected with the reverse blade sword. Still using the element of surprise, Gohei grabs Yahiko and Kaoru, and threatens to kill if kenshin moves. Seemingly out of nowhere, the Zanbatou strikes Gohei in the leg. With Gohei out of the way, the group exchange a lil' dialogue and the battle gets underway. Kenshin destroys the Zanbatou, and does his preaching. Defeated in body, and soul at ease, Sano finally falls. Another day, Kenshin, Kaoru, and Yahiko visit Akabeko and meet Sano again. No longer a fighter for hire, the group gain another comrade, for their next adventure.

Toboe sees a bird, and takes it to the girl. She is upset, for the bird has died. Knowing he hurt the the girl who was kind to him, he starts to howl. Tsume, hearing the howl, quickly snatches him up, and they disappear. Toboe tells his story, how he was tamed by an old woman, and left after she died. As a man from the rebel faction comes to tell Tsume that no one will follow him, a ship flies overhead. The first few scenes are heavy on dialogue, first reflecting on what has taken place, then more of a slight bonding experience between Kaoru and Yahiko, necessary to set the tone between them. The conversation provides a small inquiry about Kenshin's past. both characters draw similar conclusions that picture our hero as a wanted criminal. Although Kaoru knows a little of the legend of the Battosai, she would like to know more about his reasons for wandering. As Kaoru is about to confront Himura, he escapes. Soon after, the local police arrive at the dojo, looking for Kenshin. Kaoru sends little Yahiko to warn Kenshin. Meanwhile, a rogue bunch of police swordsman start harassing people on the street. The hero sends the girls accompanying him home, so he can deal with the matter at hand. Whilst sending the girls away, the rogue officers arrest a pickpocket, and those who defended him, including Yahiko, who happened on the situation. After a struggle the leader orders the public execution of them all. Before the first murder, the hero strides in, takes a stance, and proceeds to kick the flank of all of the unruly lawmen at once. With Kaoru and the rest of the local police finally caught up, a figure emerges from the police carriage. Because of some smart comments, the man is labeled as Arigato Yamagata, leader of the Meji army. Offered a Key military position, Kenshin declines, reaffirming his oath to never kill again, and the trio walk into the sunset, more playful then ever

As you may know, I do have a little free time to myself. With this free time I often watch anime, various movies, and other junk. I used to critique movies for the Nexflix service, and some old habits die hard. These small tidbits are not in-depth, nor solid, so comments will be encouraged. As for my first task, Rurouni Kenshin and it's many titles are my target. So grab the popcorn, cause the series is a good one!
