  1. lol I'm in Texas but crap... Austin is too far away I've been keeping an eye on the meetup for awhile and it looks like fun though, who knows maybe I'll make it there... for now uncertain.
  2. Forgot to add, as the post above me reminded me, the single plus that Disney taking FIM over would cause, is that thee toys would be much more show accurate. Even if that show ended up being killed by them down the line.
  3. I see it lasting at least till six personally, with bronies they've seen a massive increase in toy sales and I think monetarily they know that once fim and the g4 line dies very few of those people will still buy the toys. To add to that, as I stated in another thread, once the show ends I predict within a year the brony fandom will drop to a few hundred hardcore fans and that's it. lol on another note it would suck to be the person to try and revive mlp for 4.5 - beyond. You know that its gonna be one of those lines that just never will be able to live up to the one before it and yet all the execs at Hasbro are gonna hope for and expect it.
  4. Bronies are forever! Really though that's a tough question. On the surface the answer is yes. MLP FIM is a fandom and that makes it a fad of sorts, which I think will lose a massive amount of its fan basis within a year of the show getting cancelled; whenever that is. will Bronydom fade completely out though? No, I doubt it ever will, not really. The show has touched too many people and brought too many together, as you mentioned, for it to ever die fully. I can say, as I'm certain almost everyone here can, that mlp fim has changed my life and will always hold a special spot in my heart, no matter how old I get.
  5. Haha, eep... I didn't even read any of the comments, but my initial reaction would be that it would suck. Disney tends to "whore" pardon the term, all of they're stuff. I honestly think that they would run the fandom into the ground. One of the reasons the brony community has been able to grow so much I think, is that Hasbro has allowed it to develop on its own without trying to force it along or conform it. Which would certainly be the goal of Disney. On a side note, I don't think Disney would've been that kind to bronies, if they had been the ones to create the show from the start. The moment they'd have found out about clopping side of the fandom, fan interp of characters, or plushie making it'd been shut down as best they could lol. (Also since it's coming off like I'm not, I am actually a big fan of disney films and cartoons. I just hate they're marketing techniques)
  6. Honestly I feel the same. I didn't even find it that original of a story, *dodges shoe* but really, I mean it's the basic human meets pony plot that has been a staple in the fanfics since they started popping up in our fandom. (Don't kill me!)
  7. lol if I managed to survive that would indeed irk me For myself I think it's fairly obvious I'd be eating apples with AJ in the middle of the ruins.
  8. This all the way. Expanding on it, mostly I hate the fact that many claim the motto of the community and then fight with each other over what is or isn't acceptable to like or do as a community. You can dislike something without making the people who like it feel like sh** lol, there is a right and wrong way to say you don't like something. We're all in the same boat of "weird," if you want to call it that, anyway. That said I'm not so big a fan of our rule 34 side.
  9. I agree completely although fun fact; technically AJ has been in the most episodes of anypony, beating Twilight out by one. (Applejack: Taking over the show in secret one minute at a time )Adding another of my own, now that I've just touched the tip of the fanfic world I also read My Little Dashie and found it... meh. The writing wasn't that great and it was super, super, sappy. But that stems partially from my extreme hate of HiE stories so yeah I'll never read cupcakes or anything else super gorey/death filled (I <3 them all too much to read these) and Idk if I'll ever read Fallout Equestria. less the idea more the size of it. I'm super lazy when it comes to reading so yeah... I'm gonna have to ease into that one.
  10. 1991 male orange, (which coincidentally is one of the reasons why I loved Applejack from the start)
  11. I'm open about it and anyone who knows me knows that I'm a big fan of the show and the community, but I don't run around and I'm not like: "Hi I'm Nate, and oh btw ponies..." Well, at least not the first time I meet them
  12. Mirror Image or mirror message or mirror Coalescence Mirror's being the "glass of fashion" and this being fashion's child incarnate thought it fit: http://www.enotes.com/shakespeare-quotes/glass-fashion lol hope it was some help
  13. I know how that goes, and yet I stopped because it's always when I lack my notebook in public that some amazing idea seemed to occur to me. Then I spend the rest of the day paranoid and repeating it in my head. As for music I find it distracts me, (Always put on Enya or something lol) and I wake up hours later and grumpy
  14. I came, I saw, there was no AJ, I cried, I was consoled by seeing at least they were finally putting out plushies, then I saw their spider hair. I am disappoint. (Yet secretly if I find one near me, I know I'm grabbing it regardless)
  15. The reason mlp fim gets so much hate about it's adult following boils down to one thing, (which both you and the poster above mention) that is that it is generally accepted to be a show for kids, and even more girls. It could have the best plot ever made in the world and it would still have bashing simply because it isn't seen as acceptable and "correct" for adult men to enjoy a little girl's show. The speech was fun to read and I don't really see you going wrong in any places. All I can say is that some people just aren't going to accept it on principle and most of the ones that are like that, if the do get herded, hardly ever go beyond closet brony and rarely tell anyone else, esp friends, they like it. If they come around to it, one more for the herd if not don't let it get to you.
