  1. The villain was underdeveloped - so sad! We have no idea of his personality at all! Cool design but we didn't really get to know him.

Agreed. He was onscreen for a minute or two total. Discord was onscreen for two full episodes.

Had potential, but was wasted imo.

  2. I love using the cheapest product of any type I can find. I almost feel as if those generic brands need a self-esteem boost, and by using them I'm saying "it's OK, you're just as good as those other fancy products." It makes me feel warm and fuzzy. :o

    O.o what in tarnation?

    welp, my turn:

    -Im afraid of driving

-I like the idea of going insane

-I feel very anxious when with other people. Im much more comfortable alone

    -Im addicted to red bull

-My right ribcage is bigger then the left one

-I havent washed my teeth for close to a month now

  3. So many people, so much chaos, so disorganized... where is Twilight when you need her...?

Anyways, Im a drummer and im preety good at audio editing, so i could clear up all the recordings for you.

Though honestly, i think the main thing you need to work on is getting everything and everyone organized. I've browsed through the 19 pages of this thread, and im completely lost as to what we have, what we need, who is doing what, who gave up and who is still here etc...

Working in large groups like this is allways problematic, so i suggest you first decide what the final thing is supposed to sound like (genre, if you will), and what the lyrics should be about. Then, we need a person (an experienced trance composer would be perfect, i find these people have a great sense for emotions in the music) to determine the tempo, transitions, slower and faster parts etc. and coordinate this with the soundtrack crew and try to get a quality recording (i suggest a lead guitar makes a solo recording, then everyone else base their recordings on it, that worked great in my past band), and on top of that you edit in all the singers.

Just my 2 cents though... :)

  4. I know exactly how you feel. One of my former classmates is a hater, and he was doing his best to make my life miserable. He took every opportunity to make me look like an idiot infront of others, and even attacked me once when i talked back at him (i dont ussualy, but he started mentioning my family, i cant tolerate that)

  5. Oh and mac os sucks, yea I said it

Depends what you were using it on. Macs are optimised for specific hardware and work really well on them, but their performances drop massively when installed on anything else (google hackintosh). As for the OS itself, its very simple to use, but very limiting as well. In my eyes, lots of work and changes to be done, but has potential.

Anyways, back to topic: I got a pre-release version of win8 a few days ago, put it up on virtual, and barfed.

No offense to anyone using any of their os's, but for me win8 is the sum of all Microsoft's mistakes over the last decade put together to squeeze what little money out of everyone's pockets can possibly be squeezed out.

-Inbuilt protection is absolutely awful and blocks everything and anything that isnt Microsoft's. I even wrote my own program in C#, and when i tried running it the os blocked it. I cannot even imagine what chaos this will cause among software and game developers.

-Interface is anti-intuitive and impractical. It might even pass on a mobile phone or any device with a touchscreen, but is absolutely hiddeus on a desktop or a laptop. Just to navigate to a file on your drive you gotta watch the slow and annoying animations which make a 10 second job look like eternity.

-The only positive thing when comparing it to win7 i can find are plausible performance upgrades. The problem, however, is that for half the price of win8, you can buy an SSD, which will boost the pc performance sky high, and way above what win8 would do. The booting speed everyone love pointing out has been achieved years ago on mac. Also, any OS can boot up quickly with the right hardware. Im dualbooting arch linux and ubuntu, both of which boot up from an SSD in some 10 seconds: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvdzmhEkWt8&feature=related (not my video, just an example). Ive personally seen OS's boot up in 2-3 seconds (thats from grub to full desktop) using systemd.

I had win8 running for 30 minutes and it got me on the verge of punching a hole straight through my screen. I'll be sticking to linux, thank you very much.

edit: whats with this forum embeding every youtube link? O.o

  6. Ive got a few brag-worthy...

When I was 8, I crashed off my bike and tore a ligament in the knee and now have a scar over it from the surgery.

Some 5 years ago I was trying to beat my own speed record on rollerblades and dived face first into the pavement at some 50 kmh. Took a whole lot of stiches and left a scar over my left cheek and a small hole in the eyebrow.

When I was little I was fighting with my sister and she pushed me backwards. There was a handle on a cabinet behind me that fell off (it was a really old cabinet), but the screw that held the handle was still sticking out. It barely missed my spine and went about an inch deep into my lower back. Left a nice round scar.

Besides those, ive got some cuts on my hands (i have a cat :) ), and a few scars from chickenpox, but those arent that interesting.

  7. I would like a link to this rap please you know you didnt really give a very great starter for a topic i love her raps now discuss whats raps name some give someu

Using punctuation might actually make your post readable.

Honestly, I dont quite like it. I dislike rap in general, but this is also a very simple voice modulation which can be done from any voice for any character. The lyrics and the way she pronouces things dont fit Fluttershy at all. Sorry, but not impressed :/

  8. That is a good hope that you have, but religion is much more deeply ingrained and intertwined with out society that there is no chance at ditching it. It would take a lot more than a war to get rid of religion. I don't see it ever happening.

Indeed. It has even been proven that a small part of the human brain is devoted to being religious.

And honestly, i dont see whats with all the hate. The future seems quite nice to me, and i wouldnt mind living that way, though i doubt so much can be achieved so quickly. Robotics and technology are possible, but conciousness transfer in 15 years sounds VERY farfetched. If its even possible at all, I'd put it some 150-200 years from now...

  9. Some 15 minutes ago while i was in the shower (officially the most creative part of anypony's day), i was thinking about random topics and normally ended up on mlp, or more specifically how and why Lauren chose each pony's name.

Preety much all the side characters and five of the Mane 6 were completely logical and a no-brainer. Then i got to Twilight...

As soon as i thought of the word "Twilight", the first thing that came to my head was that terribad movie for 5 year old girls (get the irony).

As everyone loves punching jokes on the movie, i automatically recalled a few i saw/heard, most of them about how the supposed-to-be-vampires were all sparkling....

    wait....

    Twilight....?

    Sparkle....?

    Mind = Blown

Now yeah, her name does make some sense - shes dark purple and loves magic, but the more i think of it, the more obvious the pun becomes. Also, FiM was first aired in october 2010, so we can guess Lauren came up with character names somewhere in early 2010, which is right about the time when Twilight was at its most infamous. I know its very far-fetched, but it seems too much of a coincidence.

What do you think guys? Am i just overanalyzing coincidences or did Lauren just make the most awesome pun ever?

  10. ive gotten my skins to work XP, as you can see above, it dosent take much and they still look great, same goes for the skins from the forums

Uhhm hold on, so skins from pre 8.0 still work now? The models look new and they deffinately changed textures. I thought the old skins wont work anymore. Im still a bit suspicious but will try it later on when i get some time

  11. I'll just have to be patient then...

Ha! The A-20 is ridiculously fast!

    FLYING TANKS?!

    THERE'S AN MLP VOICE MOD?!

    And crew icons?!

    DO WANT!!!

Yeah, theres A LOT of mlp mods for wot. Voice mods, rainbow track trails, crew portraits, skins, preety much anything you can name. Theres a thread with all the mlp-related stuff here, but the skins dont currently work since all models have been ramade for 8.0. Will just have to wait for new ones (or make them ourselves :) )

Edit: didnt read through the thread and just realised the link was allready been posted. http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

  12. So I updated the game to 8.0 but I can't play it anymore.

The game freezes when it starts to Update Modules, right after I log in.

    This happen to anyone else?

Yes, I've been having the same issue since 8.0. When i start logging in it gets stuck at "Synchronising quipment and consumables". The game doesnt freeze though, the logo keeps spinning and i can interupt login. I ussualy manage to login only after trying for 20 minutes.

Anyways, im loving the physics and my A-20 spends more time in air then it does on ground.

I was really dissapointed however, when i realised that object 261 (t8 ussr arty which im working towards) has only 5 crewmembers. My plan was to replace the crew names and icons with mane 6, which would be quite awesome combined with the MLP voice mod that im using... :(

  13. I suppose it could be interpreted as really weird,

We're a bunch of 20+ year old guys who enjoy watching a cartoon meant for 5 year old girls with magical and flying ponies that teach you about friendship. Calling someone or something else weird is somewhat ironic, isnt it? :)

Though i do agree on some level. Seeing a 70 year old guy with a fluttershy t-shirt buying pony toys at a store would be quite a wtf sight. But yeah, as you said, if they truly like and watch the show for what it is, i guess there is no age limit on MLP...

  14. To be completely honest, when i started watching i thought RD was a dude. Only when she cleared the skies in 10 seconds flat, and Spike said "She's amazing!", did i realise something is wrong. At that point i rewinded about 5 times thinking i heard it wrong.

If RD actually was a colt, there wouldnt be much difference at all. The appearance would be similar, behaviour identical. Even the voice would still fit.

Applejack i can kinda see as a colt, thought some things wouldnt quite fit. Her personality is much cooler as a mare then it would be as a colt.

All the others however, would make the show a tad bit awkward for me, at least if their personalities stayed the same (especially Rarity, that would just be wtf...)

Fluttershy however, would have a preety awesome jazz voice...

  16. I think the main reason is that nerds arent really what they are shown as on TV.

    Take me for example:

-I'm a brony, i sit at a pc all day, i play and constantly talk about videogames, i can build or fix close to anything (especially electronics), i know 3 programming languages, im good at math and physics.

Judging by all that, i would be the king of all nerds. Yet im 1 meter 80 with 75 kilos (muscle, not fat, thank you :) ), i work out, im in great shape, i have a girlfriend, i go out, i party etc...

Im not saying those complete and true nerds dont exist, but most of them (us) fit into society quite nicely. And never in my 18 years of life have i seen anyone who looks even remotely like this:

  17. Cats dont have to go to school, they dont have jobs, they have no obligations or responsobilites, they get all the food, attention and love they want. At first thought, it sounds like an ideal life.

    BUT

-They cannot talk or express themselves in any way (a nightmare for any artist or anyone creative)

-They live an average of 15 years, so we would all be dead or dying by now

-They cannot choose what to eat and are stuck with catfood their entire lives

-Sex is extremely painfull, for both male and female cats

-Lots of cats get injured/killed by either cars, dogs, or people (too often unfortunately)

-Cats dont know how/arent able to watch TV or use a pc/cellphone

    -Cats cannot masturbate

No, i most definately would NOT want to be a cat. It might be fun for a day or two, but not for the rest of your life.

  18. Also, when should I start seeing results? And how can you tell when you get an emotional response? When you get an emotional response, is it something you will instantly be able to tell? Or is it something I might have trouble being able to tell.

Still a newbie at this, but from what i've read, results ussualy start with slight emotional responses after some 15-20 hours in, but it really depends on the person and the method. What may work perfectly for some, could be useless for others, thats why preety much all guides state "Dont follow blindly, use this as guidelines to find what works for you"

Also guys, i sometimes have real difficulties focusing when forcing. Ussualy i have no trouble at all, but some days (especially today), I start narrating, and in a few seconds i find myself thinking about what i had for breakfast. I try over and over, but i constantly loose focus. I'm slightly sleep-deprived the last few days, so that might be the problem, but i'd still like to hear if anyone had this issue, and how did/would you deal with it?
