as an Australian, we don't get those fancy TV channels like the Hub so our chances of watching ponies on TV are pretty much nil. however today, this morning around 8:30, I was flicking through channels and crossed over channel 11 and saw the program guide "My Little Pony". I instantly assumed that it was going to be G3 or under. to my surprise it was FIM It's About Time. now I have something to wake up to of a morning
my steam friend, Discord (Wynter) unintentially scared the crap outta me....
I was playing a custom Doom level. the map is pitch black dark, the only enemies are invisible and they scream when attack. playing through it keeping my wits about me until *BLEEP* my steam message sound goes off and gives me a mini heart attack. I save and exit Doom to find out what he wrote, the conversation went like this:
Discord: whatchadoin?
[CCCo]Parso 'On Fire' Incendiare: jesus christ, you scared the shit outta me :L
Discord: ?
[CCCo]Parso 'On Fire' Incendiare: I'm playing a custom Doom WAD, its dark and the only enemies are spectres, there is no music and the spectres scream when they attack
Discord: haha, that was randomly timed
[CCCo]Parso 'On Fire' Incendiare: indeed...
doing my usual news browsing on Steam, I noticed this pop up
http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/05/08/killing-floor-2-exclusive-first-look-co-op-fps-horror-with-the-most-advanced-gore-system-ever/
its finally coming, I now apologize to TWI for their lazy update event last time, because they've been busy working on this and seems to run on Unreal 3 and have a far more advanced gore system
when your country waits over 20 years for an R 18+ rating for games, you would think that the games would be more for adults. however, it has come to my attention that Saints Row IV is being refused classification by the OFLC in Australia. when asked about why they did this they replied with
"This game has far too many drug and sexual references to expose to the public"
seriously, you guys didn't look over Saints Row: the Third, did you? the game had a damn punchline 'Strap it on' on the back of their case! However, I'm getting off the point, Australia has an R rating, intended for Adults Only. it seems the OFLC think of Australian adults as children and don't want to show these things in a video game. look outside, turn on the news, that stuff happens 10 times every day! seriously OFLC, grow up!
I was playing the Sims 3, like I do when I have nothing better to do. My goal was to start off with one character and develop a full family. everyone is given a phone to take everywhere, but sometimes it can ring at the WORST possible times, like this:
the past week of playing GTA Online with a friend has been nothing but hilarious shenanigans, I just wish I had a way of recording Xbox that worked.
1. we found one of those Vinewood Tours roofless buses. I was driving, my mate was standing in the back, at random moments, the bus didn't like someone standing in it and would randomly jump around as if it was a rearing horse, sometimes throwing us all over the place
2. using said bus, we drove through the city slowly past a player and managed to perform THE best drive-by kill with a bus. making the guy mad and go through lengths to get a tank just to get us back, to which we hopped out of the bus, passive mode and walked around the tank as he was trying to run us over until he left the game.
3.we were driving along the freeway in a SUV and my friend noticed a guy in a plane coming after us, flying low to try and kamikaze, I think. just before he was going to hit us, my mate managed to kill him in the plane before he could land on us
4.at the airport, trying to open the back slide of a titan plane, the only way to open it is by punching it, I tried punching, didn't open. I kept trying and then all of a sudden, the plane explodes, killing us both and his death saying I did it
5.base jumping out of fun off the summit of mount chillad we tried to land in the nearest town, he landed safely and then I land on the road and as soon as my feet touch ground, I'm instantly hit by a car and killed
6.I was in a helicopter and went to go pick him up, though I came down a little too fast and accidentally scooped him up off the ground, killing him instantly
just a couple weeks ago, as you know, I went to Italy. of course, I had to catch a plane to get over there. I flew on an Emirates airline which had its own on-board entertainment system. I was sat next to some random guy who decided to watch Twilight on his screen, I wasnt going to put up with that for the whole flight. so I searched the TV show list and to my relief MLP: FIM was there. I put an episode on and started to watch it, the guy next to me saw it, turned off his screen, got up and sat elsewhere. I thought that was the most hilarious thing I ever done :3
Sleeping Dogs is an open-world, third-person shooter. unlike most third-person games, guns arent in majority of the game, it is mainly focused around Martial Arts. Players take the role of Wei Shen, an ex-Triad cop, sent to Hong Kong to infiltrate the Triads.
Gameplay- like all open-world games, Sleeping Dogs provides a variety of cars, bikes and boats to travel around the city, Wei also has the ability to parkour up walls and jump across buildings. the fighting mechanics to me, seem to be like Assassins Creed, as you can counter oncoming enemy attacks and deal your own damage, you can also use the environment to defeat your enemies with quite brutal conclusions. the gunplay is rather fun, with slow-motion dives and even car chases.
Graphics- I think to myself, if the game runs jumpy on high graphics, it must have decent graphics. though sometimes, I've noticed that Wei can sometimes be randomly covered in blood when you havent even been fighting. however the city, NPCs and vehicles all look evenly done, and I can say, it looks beautiful. even when it rains, the road starts to shine up when light goes across it, beautiful job there.
Story- The story is brilliant. the idea of an ex-Triad being recruited into the police and then sent to rejoin the Triads is amazing, and the missions actually display the everyday life of a Triad, some good, some bad. there were a few parts that made me shed a manly tear for a fallen comrade and some that made me feel completely powerful.
all-in-all Sleeping Dogs is fantastic and I 100% recommend it. hope you enjoyed the review, goodonyaz
I was going to do a voice com, but I dont think the only thing you'd want to hear is me laughing. Duty Calls (aka Call of Duty in a nutshell) is a Parody of Call of Duty to promote Bulletstorm
I used to do reviews on Facebook but those idiots would soak up anything I said. these reviews are my personal opinion and are not meant for everyone.
Far Cry 2
Far Cry 2 is a first-person shooter by Ubisoft. The game brings the player to Africa on a mission to kill an Arms Dealer who apparently started a civil war between two factions (the UFFL and the APR). during gameplay the player contracts Malaria which needs to be cured after every 40 minutes (real time).
Gameplay-the game plays out like an open-world FPS with vehicles to travel to and from destinations, however getting to your destination is no walk in the park. there are patrols all over Africa and will shoot at anything that looks like you. The controls are easy to learn and the AI are pretty damn clever, if you hear a vehicle sound, make sure to dodge the rolling mass heading towards you. The pain in the arse about Far Cry 2 is weapon degradation, overused weapons soon start to rust and jam, eventually they will break and be completely useless.
Graphics-the look of the game is not its strong-point, sure everything looks nice and realistic but some parts just look like everything was dusted with Milo. I'd say that the most texture work was done on the environment, weapons and vehicles, as the NPCs look like they could use some more work (oh well, why would you need to look at them if you're only going to pull the trigger)
Story-not giving out as much spoilers as I can, the Story is greatly not entertaining. It gets too repetitive and with repetitiveness comes boredness. I'd like it a lot better if the game never had a brick-wall ending, for an open-world game I'd expect to finish the game to be greeted with more freedom. sadly that isn't a luxury the game has.
Though I can say I rather enjoyed Far Cry 2 and with Far Cry 3 coming in a weeks time, I can do one for that then. I hope you enjoyed the review, goodonyaz
This is my first play of the new Zombies addition to Black Ops 2. As being my first play, I had no idea what I was doing or what was going on, that explains my sloppiness
I'm in the middle of nostalgia here, The Trap Door, a small cartoon I used to watch up until I was about 5 years old. I only just remembered it today. heres an example of some of the episodes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZBWyFO5Ve8
some of you might remember it, some might not. this was a big mark on my childhood
I have to get this out of the way.
seeing as the release dates for GTAV and SR4 are one month apart I need to do a comparsion to tell you, the games are DIFFERENT
GTA- once a briliant work of open world shooters (especially if I could fly a friggin' jetpack!) started to lose its charm on the creation of IV. I'm a casual gamer, I play games for fun and fun only, but I got bored of IV once the story was finished, it was too realistic for my liking. a proper New York City what I like to call criminal simulator
Saints Row-once a serious open world shooter, it soon developed the idea of going batshit crazy, with aliens, large intimate object weapons, a futuristic setting, zombies and whatnot. I find this more fun than IV because possibilities are endless and the stupidity is eye catching.
am I against what Rockstar is doing to GTA- NO
what I mean to say is that people are going to straight away assume that "theres a small gap between GTA and SR, but they're the same game" NO, Saints Row and GTA are two different games now, one's serious and sophisticated. the other is zany and insane. a theory I like to call the 'Pinkie and the Brain' theory with GTA as the Brain and Saints Row as Pinkie
before posting comments, yes I will get both games upon release and see if anything has changed, until then, we wait
