  1. I have an i7 6700k overclocked to 4.6 GHz, runs at around 60C under full load. A GTX 1080, overclocked to 2000-2100, don't remember exactly where I had it. Haven't overclocked my RAM get, but it's pretty good already.

Haven't found a game I can't play at 60fps on ultra, except Space Engineers because it's hopelessly unoptimized.

I have a 1TB HDD and 500GB SSD, probably going to get another in the near future.

I have 2 24" monitors. A Steelseries Sensei mouse, and a WASD II keyboard with MX browns.

  2. I don't know, I thought they were pretty funny. I have a pretty thick skin, though, the only people who's opinions I really care about know enough about me to know I'm not like that.

  3. 9, because I'm not a pleb.

Well, actually I played against 3s for a while so I could easily unlock a bunch of characters. Then I switched to only 9s once I had most of them. Level 3s are really boring, anyway.

The 3DS SSB is the only one I've ever owned, so in all the other games I've only played multiplayer with friends.

  4. Do you know when the 2016 season starts, cuz I REALLY wanna watch it.

Haven't seen any specific dates yet, but I think the actual tourney is close to starting. Not sure how much time goes into editing and whatnot before release.

  5. I flipped the fuck out when I found out it was coming back. Watched every episode of the new season as it came out. Can't wait to start watching 2016.

  6. I got Conquest because I'm not a casual pleb.

Seriously, though, I am really glad of a FE that's more the old style. Loving it so far. Probably going to get birthright as well and play it before buying Revelations, but we'll see. I did like the opportunity for overworld grinding in FEA that let one play around with different builds and pairings, but the difficulty and old-school feel of Conquest was too much to pass up.

Never in my life I thought I would see the words "Archer" and "Godlike" in the same sentence when it came to a Fire Emblem game that wasn't Gaiden

    #BlameTakumi

The legendary 3-13 Archer would like a word with you.

  7. Dresden Files

    Carrie

    Blues Brothers

    Breakfast Club

    Ferris Buellers Day Off

    Divergent

    Home Alone

    Wayne's World

    Boondocks

    ER

    Watch Dogs

All famous and/or popular media that takes place in Chicago and aren't about cops. And obviously more, this isn't a complete list.

  8. There's not a huge market, honestly. Sure, there are a ton of bronies, but very few actually buy merch or commission art. Of those, most don't spend a whole lot, and most of it official stuff since it's easily available, and there's no risk of the artist flaking out or not giving you what you paid for.

Even assuming there was a bigger market, I highly doubt the fandom is going to last long enough to build an actual business around. Sure. we've lasted a long time for what basically started as a 4chan fad, and we'll probably last a while longer, but not long enough to build any substantial business with. Pretty much every fandom has either died out or dwindled down to a few hardcore fans. Eventually, the show will drop in quality, or people will get bored, and we'll lose a lot of people.

And even assuming that weren't that case, you're in shaky legal territory unless Hasbro licenses you to sell MLP merchandise. They don't do anything to the small time artists because it wouldn't be worth the money or backlash, and they pose little to no legal threat. But you start getting big, and create an official business around it, then it starts becoming a legal issue.

So stick to commissions and a regular job.

  9. Okay, I'll bite. I want to see more of the dark villains we've had recently. Like Starlight Glimmer running a cult town like you'd see in X-files. Or Luna subjecting herself to a nightmare monster to keep others safe and being terrified at the thought of ever having a good dream. I mean, goddamn S5 had some dark shit, let's get more of that.

  10. I feel like there's a trade-off since even if you CAN hit enemies it doesn't mean you'll do any meaningful damage. When I was playing Skyrim I consistently got killed cuz I was always underpowered. I may have also bee playing wrong by trying to play as an Argonian Mage. :P

Magic in vanilla Skyrim sucks unless you abuse the dualcast destruction stunlock bullshit. Races don't matter because they

Mod it up (personally I like the Perkus Maximus overhaul, which changes pretty much every mechanic in the game). Also, there are plenty of weapons powerful enough that even with mediocre skill you can kill stuff, especially given that you're basically swimming in potions after a few hours of regular play.

  11. I don't see the always-hit combat as "dumbing-down". There was dumbing down in Skyrim, but I saw that as due to the limited magic options and weapon usage, not the mechanic behind hitting a thing. I really hope they re-add all the cool spells from Morrowind,

How is it not dumbing down? In Morrowind, you had to be skilled in a weapon to use it effectively, like it should be. The limited magic, enchanting, and weapon types are also ways in which it was dumbed down. Combat was also easier since some Morrowind enemies would just be immune to certain things, or have Reflect Magic, or cast powerful spells that did things other than damage. Skyrim is just way more forgiving.

Also, limitations of the engine will make it quite difficult to add in spellmaking and enchanting of the same type. As far as I know, all the mechanics will be the same as Skyrim, it's just the story, NPCs, world, etc. that are from Morrowind. It'll still work with Skyrim mods, though, so you can make it a bit more like Morrowind in that way.

  12. I've considered it, but don't like the idea of swinging a sword at someone 2 feet away and missing, I like the oblivion & Skyrim way better, if only there was a hybrid, wouldn't that be fun

Also gg, quoting my post to open up for your own ;3

    There's a mod for that.

Also, Skywind is a huge mod that aims to recreate Morrowind in Skyrim. It dumbs it down a bit due to the easier combat and more forgiving mechanics, but AFAIK all the story and dialogue and everything is the same.

  13. I think Darksiders was a lot closer to God of War than Zelda. Faster, more complicated combat, some story similarities, very little noncombat interaction with NPCs beyond the main story, stuff like that.

I wholeheartedly agree that the term RPG gets thrown around a lot more than it should. I love that RPG elements are making their way into more and more games, but very few mainstream games that come out these days are actual RPGs.

  14. TES IV: Oblivion

    text

Have you played Morrowind? It's like Oblivion, but even more RPG. More challenging without just increasing numbers. No stupid level scaling to make the world more immersive. The character actually has to work to become a crazy powerful god. There's actually some real cultural differences in different parts of the world. There are obvious differences in architecture, foods, speech, and other things when you're in, say an Imperial city and a Telvanni city, or a Redoran city, or an ashlander village. Each group has their own culture, and each is explained well by their past.

The factions have actual interactions that make sense. For example, the Telvanni and Mages Guild are bitter rivals, so joining one will make relations difficult with the other. The Thieves Guild occasionally has you steal from other factions, and can ruin your relationship with them if you're caught. In the Fighters Guild, one branch of the quest line will have you attempt to destroy the Thieves Guild, which will naturally make it hard to do anything with them (and part of the Thieves Guild quest line involves assassinating the Fighters Guild members pushing for the guild war). Being high up in the Thieves Guild will make you more attractive to the Morag Tong, since they both place high value on stealth and getting into hard-to-reach places.

It was also even less forgiving, which made for more immersion. If you killed somebody vital to the main quest, they were dead. It warned you so you could reload a different save, but it didn't stop you from doing it. And even if that happened, you could still beat the game. If you found certain rare books, you could find legends on how to find certain items which would allow you to, with very great difficulty, still beat the game through other means. You could become powerful enough to kill Gods, and the game would let you. Sure, it would ruin some stuff, but you could do it.

It didn't hold your hand, it gave you a giant world and let you do what you wanted, but you had to live with the consequences.

Also, if you can't tell, Morrowind is my favorite game of all time.

  15. PC all the way. But if it's just consoles, PS2. I love my JRPGs. Also 3DS, but I don't really count handhelds as consoles.

But a gamepad has it's positive functions with other games.

Racing games are the only ones where a controller is better than MKB.

  16. The boltor prime in warframe is wayyyyyyyyyy to overpowered lol. The thing is way to strong to be in any game.

What? There are multiple weapons way better than Boltor Prime. Tonkor, Soma Prime and Vaykor Hek (hell, even normal Hek since you get it to something crazy like 390% multishot and then build for elements) off the top of my head. Redeemer with a frame that can consistently trigger finisher/stealth bonuses.

Now what is unbalanced is the way weapon modding and enemy scaling works. At high levels, you basically have to use the best 10 or so weapons modded completely for damage or it's just not good enough. A lot of weapons simply aren't viable because they need utility mods to work well, but every utility mod is 1 less damage mod. Tonkor can get away with like 1 utility mod because it's bases are so high, but even then it pretty much always has to be reload speed, which might as well be a fire rate mod on Tonkor because of the 2 shot clip.

It's really annoying, some of my favorite weapons art Paris Prime and Prisma Grakata, but I can';t use either on the really high level stuff because they can't put out of enough damage on enough things.

Still a super fun game, though. And if this post is scaring anybody away from getting into it, this is only true for end-game content. Until then, literally anything can work as long as you upgrade your mods and aren't an idiot. It;s also free, with a very reasonable pay system. And the paid currency can be freely traded, meaning you can sell rare items to get it without spending any actual money. Also, the paid currency bundles usually go half-off during Steam sales.
