As I'm writing this, September 3rd, Europe was in turmoil exactly one hundred years ago.

One hundred years and two weeks ago, France mobilized for war

One hundred years and a week and a half ago, the first major battle of WWI happened.

One hundred years and a week and a half ago, the French and British stalled the German advance into France. The German's Schlieffen Plan, designed to capture Paris and bring a quick end to the war, failed.

One Hundred years ago today, millions of men dug trenches and dugouts to fortify their positions, the Germans had the high ground, the British and French had the soggy low ground. These positions would remain virtually unchanged until 1918.

I ask that we keep in memory that as the weeks unfold before us, the slaughterhouse of that was trench warfare was being built up and implemented. May we remember that as the mobilized portion of WWI came to an end, millions of men would lose their lives due to outdated tactics and stalemate warfare that were being implementing 100 years go today.

May we remember those who have died for the cause of their country, be they British, French, Serbian, Belgian, Russian, German, or any nationality.

Well, considering today is July 4th, the date of our declared independence from Great Britain, I feel the desire to express my feeling towards this country. I apologize in advance if this entry isn't greatly organized, as I'm mainly going to express what comes to mind.

They speak of this country, at least by those living in it, as a land of the free, something that's truly unique in the sense that it is here that the working man supposedly can make his dream life come true with a bit of luck, where innovation is welcomed and ingenuity appreciated. I've heard a lot of immigrants, specifically those from oppressive countries such as Soviet Russia, proclaim America to be a wonderland, that our freedoms can only be found here and here alone. I've heard them say how they felt overcome by the realization that they finally had control over their life. I've known a foreign exchange student from Vietnam who goes to my school, and although her English isn't that good, she spoke very fondly of America. She even had the power to invoke within me something I've rarely felt for many years now, that being a sense of patriotism.

I am deeply ashamed of this country, of what it has become. A country, which has its foundations based upon the principles of all men being created equal, has, at least in my opinion, been morally outdone by most of the industrialized, European countries. I'm deeply frustrated and angry. I hold contempt for this country, many of those who live in it, and it's leaders. This is a country whose potential could have truly made it "A hope for the world", as many so foolishly call it, but has instead left that saying nothing more than a sarcastic and egocentric statement. I believe what I feel about this country is what I feel when a parent attempts to push his offspring in the right direction. "Come on, get up, you can do so much better! You have so much potential! You throw your greatness away, but surely no longer!". But as always, no one listens, and I feel no one shares my feelings of despair, my thoughts of how this country throws away its potential for wonderful deeds and accomplishments.

I've heard people say that until the late 1980's and the 1990's, Germans were afraid to show pride for their country, that they were ashamed to embrace this queer ideal called 'patriotism' because of all the horrid deeds their leaders had done some 70 years ago. In all honesty, I feel the absolute same. I am honestly jealous of other countries. Other countries have their downfalls, today's Germany I hear has a horrible Bureaucracy, and yet to me, countries such as Germany, Canada, they seem like a utopia in comparison to where I live. I feel frustrated, angry, upset, jealous whenever I think about the world because I feel immigration would be a tedious and possibly hopeless endeavor, and I feel that countries which used to be absolute monarchs have already bested us at what we were supposed to be the greatest at: Individual freedom and support of the commoner.

Perhaps if there's one think I have inherited from my American ideology, it is that of freedom. The freedom of the individual, the individualism of the working man, and the promotion of unalienable rights. Anyone would win my unwavering support if they were to great us more rights and more liberties so long as they do not hinder the lives of others. I feel that with each passing day America becomes the Middle East of the Industrialized world, and by that I mean terribly out of touch with modern times and standards. A country that took inspiration from the man who said "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend your right to say it" (Voltaire) has its jimmies rustled as to whether all citizens should be given the basic, and in my view humanitarian, right to marry whom they love. We were 30 years late to end slavery, we'll probably be late to allow equal marital liberties to its citizens, and we'll probably be the last to allow free healthcare to its people.

Many Americans sense that the country has lost its greatness, but I feel that none of them understand where it has failed. It has failed when the government took less of an interest in the people and more into the corporations, into big business. I feel this country will forever live in dishonor and shame until it re-embraces what it once promoted: Rights and the pursuit of happiness for all its peoples, regardless of race, gender, nationality, social class, sexual orientation, creed, or any other separating barriers.

I pray that someday I will be able to look upon this country with appreciation. That I may one day look at our flag and feel an overpowering sense of pride and love for the country I dwell in, that I may one day look at our government and feel it is of the people.

I cannot help but feel that those of you who who hold some belief that your country is horrible are mistaken. At least you are able to hold your head up high and say "I'm from this country" and others respond to it with respectful remarks. I myself would be met with hate, bitterness, and condemnation for merely being born in the laughing stock of the entire world. I would indeed tell those who I had met if I ever traveled abroad that I was Canadian, because in all honesty, if I had heard that I was from a land of war mongering, self absorption, egocentricity, and all around douchebaggery, I wouldn't like myself either.

This game is quite...interesting. It is quite glitchy at the moment, but I expect it to be fixed sometime soon. For those of you who think it will get old quick, I found out that it will be added to the Steam Workshop where you can make and download levels the community makes, so there's that.

Anyway, here are several pics (ten of them) I took, mostly involving the physics engine of the game (which I love)

Heres my goat (after falling from a building)

Here's my goat climbing a crane so that it can learn to fly:

Here's my goat after trying to fly

Here's my goat getting the 'Michael Bay' achievement after blowing up a gas station

Here's my goat taking a selfie besies the corpses of the gas station employees

Here's my goat praying to the Goat Gods

Here's my goat joning a family for dinner, but not before showing off his acrobatic skills by hanging from a window

Here is my goat after dinner, trying to eat the lady by sucking her into his mouth with his tongue

Here is my goat taking a nap after dinner

And lastly, here is my goat finally learning how to fly

This is kind of a rant about what I've observed a whole lot lately on the forums, so if you're not one for rants, I'd imagine you'd know to not press this entry any further.

I don't really know if I'm considered an old-timer. I've seen some members who have been here since 2011; I think Zygen is one such member if I recall correctly. Despite this, things have changed so much on the forums and it is a change I dislike and even despise to a certain degree.

I remember when I first joined back in August of 2012, I had alot of happy and wonderful people to greet me. For the longest time I don't remember a whole lot of sadness being amongst the forums; it wasn't put out in the open, it was at the very least confined to the Life Advice section. But as many of you can tell, people have pretty much taken their grief to status updates and or blogs.

My main issue is not the fact that there is so much sadness (although that does disturb me a bit, but what can one do?), it's more of the fact it's so openly advertised. I swear to God, It has been a long time since I've seen the lack of a depressive status update for a whole day. It's rare for an hour to pass by where there isn't one status update that bears presence of neither happiness nor hope. I am aware it's possible I will get hate for this, but so be it. In all honesty, I am quite annoyed at some people on these forums. There are people who have bad days, I hold not contempt for them, there are people who are depressed but are trying to hold on to what little semblance of hope they have left, unable to let a few depressive statuses leak out, I hold not contempt for them either. It is those who are so utterly determined to remain in sorrow, to remain in depression, and intend to do nothing but complain and wallow in pity, not caring who they bring down with them. I grant you this, I have wallowed in my own self-pity on occasions, even I am not exempt from it, but even I, myself, when enough time had passed had grown sick of being sad and began to sincerely look for a solution, yet it seems there is no end for some people; it seems all they want to do with their lives is sit in the depths of darkness without even considering how it affects others, much less how to get out of it.

It bothers me even more that these people care not to express themselves in the Life Advice section. I mean, does anyone have any doubt that it was the reason it was put there in the first place, for people who are sad and upset can go to vent and/or receive help? They do not articulate their anguish in a section it is meant to be articulated in, but instead do so in the openness of status updates. Has it ever occurred to anyone that there are people who may not wish to see a status talking about the hopeless of life or the desires of ending it in every other status? Do I like helping people? Yes, I do, but do I enjoy seeing a bunch of status updates from people who half of the time will only reply to an act of kindness with some snide and smart-ass remark? No, I don't, in fact I do indeed despise it. When people attempted to help me, I tried myself to get out of the dark pit, I asked them the questions I had pondered that had kept me within the confines of said pit, I asked for their advice and their opinions, I asked for their answers to the questions, and within time I rediscovered myself, but when people are given the chance over and over again and do nothing more than reply with a smart-ass and uncaring responses, it shows me that they do not care about reaching happiness once more, and if they do not care about reaching happiness once more, then it is of my opinion that they have no right to complain.

My birthday was on the 15th of January, however I have a good explanation: I was too lazy to do so until now.

Really my only gift was a reproduction of a 1777 Charleville flintlock musket. The gun Americans used to fight off the British in the Revolution, and the model for the 1795 Springfield.

I named her Erika. The name isn't really symbolic, I just love the name Erika XD

    Que the pictures!

This gives you an idea of how long she is, as this is a twin size bed

Here's a closer view of "where the magic happens"

Here's a view of the lockplate. I don't know what it says, I can't read French.

And here's a picture of her next to my 1858 Enfield (which is ironically heavier, considering she's shorter)

    Anyway...yay?

Right, I have a question for all every non-American. Candian, Asian, British, all countrymen are welcome as long as you don't live in the states!

The Question is simple: What do you think of America.

To be honest, I hate America. I should know, I'm an American myself. We have the most idiotic healthcare system in the world, some of the most corrupt politicians I've ever seen, and the most ignorant and overly-patriotic populace to ever walk the Earth. I can't help but laugh whenever someone takes on the strong southern redneck accent and starts going "Yeah, 'Murica saved the Earth from Hitler during WWII! We saved Britain's ass in both world wars, even though they went to war with us twice, cause we're that awesome!", mostly because I can guarantee you some dumb-ass American has already said, or is going to say that sometime.

Well, we've gotten to my favorite part of history in history class, revolution. We'll be going over the American Revolution, the French Revolution, and the Russian Revolution. Today was our last day going over the American Revolution, and in doing so I had to read up on the bill of rights and the US Constitution, and my findings refreshed my hatred for the current state of my country.

What infuriates me is the corruption of our country. I do realize our country is not that corrupt when it comes to other countries, but it is simply because the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are the only thing keeping us semi-free. Even now, the politicians are trying to find every loophole in existence to increase the longevity of their power and cripple that of The People.

Take for instance, the lovely hot topic of gay marriage/gay rights. I will give to you the 1st amendment in the Bill of Rights:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances"

Take note of the first part, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". Is it stupid to think that the issue of gay rights is a matter of something besides religion? My Christian friend told me they use the loophole of the fact that It's involved in politics, therefore it's not about religion, it's about politics. I'm just going to assume that no one is stupid enough to believe that, it may play a small factor, surely, but no one would dare to say politics is the one and only factor. What does this loophole allow people to do? To undermine a specific group of people based upon a religious belief, something that is not prohibited in some fine print, but is prohibited overtly in the Bill of Rights, the first amendment in the bill of rights, mind you.

I dislike my country because we have broken the very binding rules of our country in so many ways. When politicians are able to pass legislature that spews their religious dogma upon all who fall under their rule, how is that not unjust? I do not condemn the opinions of the politician, he may believe what he wishes, but he should by no means be allowed to force his beliefs upon others, disregarding whether his subjects believe them or not. Is it not reasonable to say a man should keep his moral beliefs to himself so that he does not take away the rights of others? When a politician breaks a rule so overtly decreed in our Bill of Rights, is it unreasonable to think he should be impeached? Yet there is no uproar, there is no action taken against the politician, not even a slap on the wrist, no one cares, it is as simple as that.

I do realize the constitution was not perfect in its original state, and I support all amendments that promote equality and the the positive progression of society. I do understand there can be many interpretations for what the positive progression of society is, but my definition is anything that promotes equality for all, and I believe anyone who does not wish for equality could not be seen as a good person. But to get back on topic, we have so many laws being passed that take away our freedoms, and there is no violent uproar, there is no out-lash, there is nothing. I truly do fear for this country. I fear our government, I fear those politicians who represent nobody but themselves, those same politicians who have power in their hands.

Let me leave us with a quote by my favorite founding father, Thomas Jefferson:

"When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny"

A certain member on here, one who I thought I was close with, has betrayed his sanity, well, what sanity he had left. He believe friendship, even goodness itself, is worthless because evil overcomes all. He claims good people are not wanted in today's society, and that the only winning side is Evil.

I apologize for my...depressed status updates. I actually believed this shit for a second. I wish you all to listen to how I view the world. I view it as a cesspool of vileness, greed, corruption, and all sorts of horrid things. But, there's a tiny little bit of good in it. This good includes peace, love, kindness, compassion, understanding, honestly, respect, loyalty, laughter, generosity, and my personal favorite, friendship. This good, though it is small, has the power to change the world. I feel that living in this small spec of good is the only way one can survive in this cruel world. Others have tried to live without it, but they have failed.

That certain member almost corrupted me, almost. Another friend of mine reminded me why I was so devoted to helping others and to living in friendship: Because it can make the world a better place. There are times when I have my doubts, thinking it cannot make the world a better place, but It's all we have. It's the only chance we have. With friendship, you have happiness, and you want to spread that happiness to others. This has the power to make the world a better place. Even if it does not change, we most definitely have the power to make others feel happy and accepted, which without a doubt sheds light on this horrible species.

Friendship is all I desire. Friendship is what allows us to be happy. It allows us to know that we have someone who will be there for us no matter what, someone who will be there for you when you're down and will try to cheer you up, someone who truly and honestly cares about you, a true friend. Dimitri has shown me that this friendship is not bound by real life, it can exist online as well. I did not think it possible, but it is because of him that I've grown so much spiritually and emotionally. I've realized true friendship can exist online, that there can be people who truly care about you and who are there for you online, and that is what I life for.

I want to thank you all for making this a sort of haven for me. Is it not here that the goodness of humanity dwells? Here is well goodness dwells, here is where the good part of humanity, compassion, care, love, consideration, and generosity dwells. You all have changed my life, and I thank you for that.

It has become apparent to be that many trolls have begun to put the word 'Brony' in their name, and then they proceed to blurt out random balderdash as to enrage others and most likely create a bad name for us.

'Twas on the 84e Siege Server, where there was a player by the name of "Brony_Warrior", I believe.

There were alot of French-speaking...french people on the server today, which led him to say "Stupid french atheists". I was rather bored, so I decided to humor him by asking him why he thought so. He said the French were atheists because of the French Revolution.

It was true that under Maximilian Robespierre, religion was abolished, along with a bunch of other crazy things, such as changing the entire calendar and date/time system of France. I proceeded to say that the revolution was mainly to overthrow the monarchy, and that Robespierre was a lunatic. He replied to this by saying "He was a patriot."

    Wut?

Saying that Robespierre is a patriot, is like calling Joseph Stalin a patriot. They both murdered hundreds, even thousands of their own people based on little evidence and most of the time mere suspicion. Stalin and Robespierre were both very paranoid, especially toward the end of their reigns.

I don't know, please tell me I'm not the only one that thinks Robespierre isn't a 'Patriot of the People'?

Fate has a way of being horridly cruel. Yesterday, as I was feeling happier then ever, Fate decided to punch me in thegut and stab me through the ribcage with a rusty bayonet.

    I had a wonderful epiphany:

I have no effect upon the hearts of those with depression. It is a medical condition and mere words of encouragement cannot help a medical condition. They can persuade people not to take their lives, but y'know..Depressed people can be a bitch to persuade

Have I given up? Yes. I have given up. There is no point in trying to help those that cannot be persuaded. They still have my sympathy, but they will no longer find me urging them to live.

It was also this sudden realization that pushed over the edge into misanthropy. I have lost faith in the human speices. There is good here to be sure, but I've lost faith that a few hundred, perhaps few thousand people can change a country, or a world. I look around the world (besidese here), and see corruption, greed, war, famine, hatred, despair, etc. I had held out long, believing there was always hope.

Now my hope is gone, the train to Misanthropeville has finally arrived...

Well, it was around this time that I became a brony :3.

I won't bother sharing my story, as it is nothinig original, it merely invovles watching it out of curiousity and liking it XP.

Kinda hard for me to believe that I've been a brony for a whole year. A whole year of almost complete happiness, with a few downs then and there. A whole year of looking at humanity in a completely new light.

A whole year of a new, happier, more kind me.

After watching FiM, and seeing the brony community, seeing humanity's at it's best (compared to all the other shit that goes on), my overall mood improved.

Soon enough I joined this forums, and met a few friends, a few true friends, one of whom I've grown close to. This brings me to my lovely little problem:

Never before had I had a true friend, someone who truely cares for your wellbeing, someone who values the friendship you share with them, someone to tell your problems and concerns too, to which they listen attentively. It was here, once I realized what I had, that my mood skyrocketed to what is currently is, extremely optimistic, happy, caring, and trying my best to help others.

However, this system does have it's faults. I may feel wonderful when my friends are happy and with me, but I feel depressed and worried to death when they are sad and away. If one of my friends is usually very active, but is away for a day, I may begin to get worried and concerned. It doesn't help that the only true friend I have is on these fourms, I feel more closer to him then I have felt with any of my other friends. I can't bare to lose any of my true friends. I need them, or else I'll revert to a depressed and hopeless person. They are literally what keeps me going in life.

I love my true friends greatly, even to a fault. It's very much an addiction, you know the train has to end sometime, but you want to bask in the happiness and do nothing to prepare...

The 33rd Siege server today was filled with a bunch of inbred, close minded, ignorant, and racist rednecks who wouldn't shut up about CSA and Dixie, and a bunch of anitbronies and the same time. I was certain this would lead to something hilariously funny, and it did.

    From what I gathered, we are apparently the anit-christ, and deservng of eternal damnation for liking ponies. (Sorry guys, I didn't want it to end this way ;^. Ponies are also for men who want to *insert sexual inneudo here*. So guys, I guess I'm gay. I don't feel gay, but y'know...if some person on the internet says it, I guess there's no way to deny it ;^;

    So, from what I gathered:

If a murderer breaks into a house and kills a 1 month old baby, but eventually shows remorse, does his time, (and if a Christian) and repents his sin(s), then he is forgiven. But if men watch ponies, that's enternal Damnation. So...watching ponies is worse then killing infants...?

My favorite comments were by some ignorant CSA-loving rednecks. I've arranged them in order:

2nd Favorite: "Ponies are for girls, DIXIE IS FOR MEN!!". Need I explain?

1st Favorite: "CSA is best country!"

Well...considering the Confederate States of America haven't been around for 148 years, I'd say they're not really a country anymore, even if they WERE a country back then. Not even Britain recognized them as a country. NOBODY recognized them as a country except themselves Therefore, they can't be a country :3

    I love watching ignorance unfold

So, I was away this week, for I was at a bagpipe camp (And the experience for me was a "meh...", aside from the teaching (because that was very helpful in my case).

Anyway, there's this guy who sleeps in the same 'apartment' as me, and I always find him out on the deck watching videos/listening to music on his ipod. Today, I walked over as he was watching some video to see what he was watching, and I swear I saw Doctor Whooves (the corrupted version):

When I asked him about it, he said it was "just some youtube video".

    Either I was right and that was Doctor Whooves, or I'm just going crazy ;^;

Right, so I was trying to take a French fort with good old musket and cannon, when one the Deputy Admins said "gg everypony". Midst the violent uproar of ignorance, I eventually I started talking with him in the chatbox. This is the knowledge that I left with:

He said the term 'brony' did not only apply to those who liked the show, but also those who were sexually attracted to horses, ponies, and the like. He said he was not a fan of MLP, but he was attracted to horses. I have doubts on the his first claim, for I am pretty sure bronies are those that are fans of the show.

So! If any of you here want to join a "brony" regiment, and I use the term brony VERY lightly, sign up for the lad's regiment, the Brony_Brigade X3. (Though I doubt many of you will )

Anyway, I'll be leaving soon, see you all in a week!

After reinstalling steam (and freeing up over 200 GB of memory) because my multiplayer games weren't working correctly, I was able to get on the. What awaited me was a chatbox full of ignorant people. I decided to have some fun >:3

When the chat box calmed down a bit I typed in "Soo....what is best religion?" and awaited the massive flow of ignorance that was about to present itself to me. The Server admin said "No religion, this server is agnostic"

    Lol wut?.

I never knew that Severs had a religion. Even so, I knew the admin would probably say "No religion, I don't want flame wars" etc., but to say "No religion, cause agnostic"...what?. That's like a bunch of people talking about how bad the Nazis were in a history class, and then the teacher saying "Don't talk about that, I'm a Neo-Nazi"

I don't know, just kind a seems like they forcing their religion (or lack there of) upon us :/. Or perhaps I'm just over-reacting :3

For those of you that don't know, Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Wars is like...the best game ever!

So I was on a random server stabbing people with lances when all of a sudden, people starting talking about bronies (I don't know how the conversation go to that, I simply looked down at the chat box and there they were)

One of them said we like ponies because they have "big strong legs and silky manes" (I doubt he knew about the show) and the other one said the usual balderdash of "bronies r gay and MLP is for little girls yada yada yada". Then they moved on to talking about other cartoons. They were not criticizing these cartoons, simply taking about why they liked them or not.

When they got to the Simpsons, one of the players liked the show, one did not. In the end, the player that took a fancy to the show said "It may be intended for younger audiences, but it has some intelligent humor in it". That's like MLP in a nutshell XD

Oh by the way, apparently they have a brony regiment formed up! It's called the 1st_Pony

If any of you guys play Napoleonic Wars, you might consider joining that group up XD

Well, I think it's safe to say that Walmart is a monopoly if there ever was one! You can't go around the US without seeing at least one Walmart. They're in every singe bloody town!

That being said, I remember when I was studying about the 1870-1890's and about the labor unions and what not. I do remember that the US Supreme Court outlawed monopolies somewhere around the time period. And a monopoly is basically a corporation that is so powerful, it makes small business basically impossible. (At least that's what I remember). That would probably include McDonalds as well, but y'know...

So...with that being said, wouldn't Walmart be illegal?

Bagpipe Reeds are one of the most frustrating things I've come across. Unlike the Fife, which is bascially a hollow wooden tube with holes, the bagpipe has reeds. I've yet to build up much stamina, so I keep trying to make the read easier by pinching it under water. This'll usually work for a few days before going bad (cause it's too easy to play ) When this happens, it makes a horrible shrill sound on note(s).

All the reeds I have left are hard to blow ARRRGH! :c

For some unknown reason, my mind reminded me of a funny incident a while back. My earbuds had gone dead (That happens quite often for some reason :/), so I went searching around the house for some. I found a pair of pink ones. I wore 'em to school thinking nothing of it.

Apparently the school did. 3 kids pointed out that I had pink earbuds. Then they kinda gave me a "That's kinda weird" impression. I found that pretty funny. If you went back in time, I bet even my non-brony self would've been laughing at that. A guy who's wearing a tiny bit of pink with his attire is apparently a giant beacon for attention. That's just...insane.

Society is pretty funny at times :3
