I'm kind of skeptical of Chrysalis returning, as doing anything terribly interesting with the changelings would require at least two episodes in my opinion, and somehow I can't see them using another premiere/finale to do that. I don't particularly need to see more of them anyway .

I think the best bet is Lightning Dust. The way that episode ended made a return from her seem very possible, even likely. I look forward to seeing what the writers would do with her if they choose to bring her back. Trixie has a fair shot for another episode as well.

Also, I think the boy could actually be Shining Armor--look at his shirt.  Just, you know, before we all jump to the 'boyfriend' route.

It is a kind of shield, but something's off about it. There's a lightning bolt instead of a star. Hm, the voice seems different too, as well as the skin color being different. Still, interesting idea.

I sort of used to, but over time I began to act the same way in real life as I do here or elsewhere on the internet. Either my personality's changed or I have a bit more confidence. Probably both actually.

There's even a trailer for it! Is that new too? Anyhow, looks like my guess for the villain of the thing was correct, and Twilight seemed awfully touchy-feely with that yellow guy. INB4 Twiliscael the fandom rages . Interesting. Didn't really make me any more optimistic about the thing, but it was interesting to see. 

As of now, my best guess is that Sunset Shimmer be the villain of the Equestria Girls movie. She was stated at some point to be an old student of Celestia's, correct? That in addition to her name would clearly set her up as Twilight's predecessor (their names are synonyms for crying out loud). Best guess, she's escaped from somewhere, is jealous that Twily succeeded where she failed, steals the crown thing, and runs off to another dimension for anthropomorphic shenanigans. That would also bypass the whole part about her not being in Season 4.

As for adding a different character, I can see them forming some sort of message about needing to make new friends or something, but there isn't any kind of build up to introducing anypony specific, and it would need to be handled extremely carefully to avoid the new character being loathed like no other. 

EDIT: The trailer in this article makes my prediction seem pretty likely. Woohoo!

where afterwards, Pinkie has been dragged across town against her will. (Shrug). You could make the case for her flat-hairedness limiting her physics-breaking ability.

1) Pinkie Pie. Do you have any idea what type of power is associated with bending physical laws? Things such as gravity and anatomical malleability can be chosen to be defied by Pinkie Pie at any given point, where they apply without fail to all other ponies. That is power on a whole different level.

Anyhow, only counting Luna once.

1: Discord, his reality warping puts him on an entirely different level.

2: Nightmare Moon, able to defeat Celestia absurdly quickly, even if there are questions as to how motivated Celestia was to fight her.

3: Princess Celestia, very powerful magic ability.

4: Sombra, lots of plain raw power, and while Cadence was able to hold him back for a time, he clearly had some dangerous dark magic at his disposal.

5: (Speculation) Twilight as a Princess, she'd have ranked highly even as a Unicorn, and while she still likely needs some time to adjust to her new powers, I think she's above Cadence and Chrysalis.
