Yeah, socially I suppose that Rarity and Twilight are fairly opposite, but you have to admit there is at least as big of a contrast between Twilight and Pinkie Pie, if not a larger one

It's kinda weird, my younger siblings are fans of the show thanks to me, and they watch the show on the hub every morning at breakfast. I feel slightly uncomfortable when the theme comes on and my parents are I the room, but other than that I feel ok mostly

Yeah, the mane 6 definitely each have a foil within the group and that's part of why it's so much fun to watch them interact. I might argue that Rarity is closer to an opposite of Applejack and Pinkie is closer to an opposite of Twilight though. There are even episodes dedicated to contrasting those pairs

I liked the show a lot after the first episode, but Dragonshy made it my favorite show (not that I watch much TV, it surpassed Phineas and Ferb since that show has declined). I liked how it flushed out the character's by showing how they each tackled a problem, Since I watch largely for the characters and how fun it is to watch them play off of each other character development is always a plus. I especially died laughing at Dash's nod to the dragon (she was always best pony, she just extended her lead there). But yeah, several episodes have pulled me further into the show, but Dragonshy was the first significant one.

1: One cannot become an Alicorn, and there is little to no pattern as to who is born one. They are just exceedingly rare.

 

2: Earth Ponies have a natural (but not insurmountable) edge regarding strength and stamina, and have other more subtle abilities as well.

 

3: Trixie is not a misunderstood saint

 

4: Celestia and Luna are engaged in an epic trolling war that has spanned centuries

 

5: At least one of Dash's parents is dead (and Dash's mom is preferably identical in personality to "Mrs. Rainbow Dash's Mom" from the fic Where Your Heart Is by Cloudy Skies)

 

6: There is an underlying reason or event that explains why each of the 6 represents their specific element (E.G, Rarity's family was saved from poverty by an act of generosity, causing her to value it, Rainbow felt abandoned when her parent died and swore never to leave anyone behind like she was, et cetera)

 

7: Pinkie Pie has a massive crush on Dash that Dash is entirely oblivious to

 

8: The character's in Hearth's Warming Eve are distant ancestors of the Mane 6, and Commander Hurricane invented the Sonic Rainboom for the purpose of thrashing Gryphons

This hasn't happened to me. What has happened to me is that I'll see someone I don't recognize at all with a Derpy or Rarity shirt, and then they'll walk away before I can say anything and I'll still not know who they are.

I'm not quite sure honestly. Twilight rarely teleports even in situations where it would make quite a lot of sense for her to. One thing I have noticed is that rapid teleportation can be a way she shows mental distress, during Lesson Zero and It's About Time she teleports EVERYWHERE

Interesting that most people think Twilight is most likely to have a crush on them. I wouldn't have expected that even though it's what I voted.

 

Also, Clarity did you really vote for Applejack in every category whether it made sense to or not?

Of course we would have to raise enough money to buy the franchise, figure out how to go about doing this and it would spark a virtual fandom civil war over how to run the show, how to portray characters, who gets to write for it and how to stay loyal to the primary demographic. I don't know if we are collectively prepared to handle that.

Hate to be a buzz kill but it's hard for me to picture a fandom actually creating the thing they are a fan of, imagine letting Harry Potter fans write the last Harry Potter book. The shipping alone would have gotten violent and that's not even considering anything that actually happened

I’m going to say at least 1 in every 500 people are Bronies, to me that seems pretty reasonable.

 

That would give us about 623,184 Bronies in the US alone (rounded up)

 

Now, that would make 0.2% of the American population as Bronies based on my estimation.

If they took Dash off the show then yeah, I'd book it out of the show on principle alone. I'd probably do it if they cut out any of the 6 but I'd be especially angry if it was Dash

I would like to recommend a fic called Magnetism, by Souldin on Fimfiction. It's a Flutterdash fic where they become stuck together with magic.Given that Fluttershy has a crush on Rainbow hilarity and awkwardness ensues although Dash is oblivious to the awkwardness. Meanwhile Angel cannot understand the situation and jumps to the conclusion that Dash has moved in to boss Fluttershy around, mooch off of her and live in the lap of luxury. This being his job, he sets out to make Dash's life a living hell, and she must wage war on Angel without Fluttershy picking up on any of it.

 

Flutterdash isn't my OTP, but this fic makes it very enjoyable. Has comedy, adorableness and everything I like in a shipfic. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did

Put Celestia in charge if any of them, to be honest I can't imagine Luna running the country so I'll go with Twilight as Vice President. I also vote that Blueblood becomes the janitor of the White House . Put Dash in charge of the Air Force so we can watch every other country crap themselves in unison, and make Applejack secretary of agriculture because we can.

They are justified in being afraid of her. They are intimidated by CELESTIA for crying out loud and that's when she's being very calm and kind to them. It has been established that they are scared silly of royalty

I've seen some clips but I can't imagine watching the shows TBH, they just don't seem appealing both in terms of characters or visually.

Twilight Sparkle- After I had calmed down emotionally, plan elaborate revenge, involving books.

Rarity-Make a fashionable Iron Man suit for use in my crusade against the party responsible

Fluttershy- Lead an army of animals against Hasbro, while carrying flags with her face on it

Applejack- Deny the responsible person apple pie for the rest of their lives (in case they don't appreciate the dessert as much as Soarin and I do then I'll make some kind of apple cannon I guess, but nothing compares to that first punishment)

Pinkie Pie-The responsible people would help me make lots of CUPCAKES! Nah, I'd be pretty broken mentally TBH

Rainbow Dash- I refuse to answer to preserve our collective innocence but it would be memorable

You know, if possible Disney might just keep the same people working on/writing the show. I mean "If it ain't broke don't fix it" there are directions it could go that aren't terrible. Besides, until Disney actually buys Hasbro I'm not going to worry about it. All this chicken little behavior "Disney will kill the show" "The fandom is dying" " they're going to cancel the show since they're shortening the seasons" doesn't get us anywhere ultimately. Besides, what would Disney have to gain from dumbing down the show anyway? From what I've heard it's plenty popular with the target audience as it is so what possible motivation is there to deliberately make it less accessible to us and piss off a chunk of the fanbase? I'm not without my own worries about this myself but I'm going to try to keep calm
