Something weird I've noticed about this fandom is that a lot of the outspoken members of the fandom are VERY socially conservative and have no qualms with overlooking or even enabling blatant racism/sexism/LGBTphobia in the fandom, which is weird to me considering the premise of the show is overcoming differences in the name of friendship or something like that. Contrast the MLP fandom with something like the SU or Gravity Falls fandom, and it becomes pretty apparent imo. I think it's in part because the fandom originated from 4chan, and people that post there are generally pretty conservative, socially.
Just because it doesn't matter to you doesn't mean it doesn't matter to other people. Try telling all of this to someone who has to live with racism on a day to day basis. You're not wrong that racism will never go away, but being bitter and cynical about it does nothing but enabling it. Strife and conflict are a necessary part of human nature, because not every person is the same. Some people believe racism can be justified, and people who are victims of racism will push back, that's how the world works. The idea of writing the whole human race off as "stupid" in itself is pretty stupid if you ask me, because the reason why this very issue exists is because humans aren't stupid.
I meant that it doesn't matter that racist people might be in the fandom. It doesn't matter because things like racism are not a fandom issue but a human issue. An issue that will never go away. I wish there was some reality where it could go away, but it just isn't the case.
And the human race is stupid. We have so much intellect within our species and how does a good chunk of it use it? For hating others of their own species because of skin color or whatever land mass they happen to be from. That's not exactly smart.

I tend to drink either lot's of water or something like Powerade. Depending on the type of stomach issue these things help immensely. I sometimes have something like Sprite too, if I have it.
-
Does it even matter? Things like racism exist all over the world regardless of group or social standing. It will NEVER truly go away either. Why? Because the human race sucks. The human race will sooner wipe itself out than embrace itself to the fullest. Even when we try to make things better, it overflows into another extreme, like modern feminism. Humanity is stupid and will continue to be stupid, doesn't matter if some members of a fandom are like that.

I have finally returned to making ponified shooter box art...thingies. Here's the newest one for Battlefield V! Now Battlefilly V! Yup. Tried to cram in MLP references and still keep the original feel. This is the result. Celestia now gets her time to shine.

Indiana has provided 3 major things: Indycar, Holiday World aaaaaaand meth. Still waiting for the news of a methed up Indycar driver ramping off rollercoasters in Holiday World. Which, by the by, if you haven't been to Holiday World, go there. Awesome theme park. Haven't been there myself in years despite living just a couple of counties away.
Oh and Indiana is the home of the developers of Terarria. There's that.

I tend to randomly sing a lot when I am alone. It soothes me. Last song was Stranded by Gojira. I have that song in my mind a lot.

How tough am I?
I live in Indiana...
....and I have never done meth.

Nope. I am convinced it was a one time 'what if' type of thing and a second appearance as an actual villain would not have the impact of should, since we have seen her already. Anything else would be disappointing. That is why I actually wasn't fond of her introduction in a dream as I see it as wasted potential.

It looks like trash. A shitty battle royal, no campaign, the same multiplayer as always, hyping up 'features' that mean nothing, still trying to make zombies as the 'coolest thing evar' and many other things. Let's not forget it is $60, it will have a $50 season pass and micro transactions out the ass, even moreso with the battle royal mode now. The graphics look no different than Black Ops 3 and the fact that the devs actively pissed on their last game just to make their new game look better. Lot's of people liked Black Ops 3 apparently despite the exo suits, but no, let's act like it was trash so people will buy the new game. Such artistic integrity these puppets have.
COD is entirely dead to me and greed is what killed it. Black Ops 4 could look like the greatest game ever made and it still would not justify the insane greed deployed by Activision.

Looks like a fairly typical cliche cartoon of the modern era, which is iornic since Thundercats was a fairly typical cliche cartoon of the 80's era. Granted, I have not watched any thundercats in my life, but from what it seems, the old show was most likely better.

I ain't going to debate that Activision is an awful publisher, however I'm not sure we are able to freely compare EA and Activision in this regard.
EA might have pulled a few things towards parts of their community, but it is nothing really major. The titles you have mentioned are nowhere close to what SW:BF was or their European flagship, FIFA series. Along with The Sims as well. The titles mentioned did not have a substantial impact on their total income, so the deeds they've done would have had little financial consequence, HOWEVER they are great from PR perspective. They can be used as a leverage to show "we ain't that bad in end!". And that's what worries me and, joined with my distrust to them, makes me belive it's actually a well planned image improvement.
So far, EA has not made any substantial moves to better the games that bring them the highest income, quite the contrary, they are actually fighting the law to keep these games afloat and keep the users scammed and addicted. We yet have to see how Activision will react, as they have not yet come under any real fire. But it seems this might be a subject to change in the future.
I feel at freedom to state that both companies are worth each other, however they operate on different scale. Activision is milking the only cow that they can milk, which brings them the highest profits. EA is spreading the predatory systems across multiple games. And, on an example of BF2, once the game stops being profitable, they ditch it. Dice is the only studio now responsible for developing BF2. Other 2 studios have already been moved away from the project, as EA recognized that with all the negative attention it gathered, it is no longer vital for their finance to keep it afloat.
What I loved the most from EA so far, was the "Single player games are dead." statement. With Witcher 3, NieR: Automata, Uncharted, God of War, Prey, Resident Evil, Divinity and Breath of the Wild on the not far away horizon behind.
In conclusion, I think that both companies are worth each other, but due to their scale and marketing titles they simply employ different dirty tactics. Yet the outcome is the same: disappointed and cheated community being stripped away from their funds.
That cannot be said about every new EA game though. Games like Unravel and A Way Out, both very good games that are unique, published by EA. Those are both single player-esque experiences (A way out is local co op but it is ONLY local co op), and both are good. Unravel in particular, while not perfect on a gameplay stance, is fucking BEAUTIFUL on an artistic level. Seriously, it is amazing in that regard. I cannot think of a single title that Activision has put significant money into in the past several years that isn't the same old Call of Duty and Destiny trash. Unless we count Activision Blizzard but they apparently operate differently than just 'Activision' so go figure. Activision would never risk any of their money for the sake of something new or artistic. EA at least has done that this gen. It is like when child of Light was released by Ubisoft. That game was along beautiful and it was my favorite game of 2014, but people are so wrapped in hating Ubisoft that they ignore some of the good games they have. Activision, I can't think of any good games they have now. So regardless of how either company handles their marketing and PR, EA at least has some good games on their belt and some risks. Activision? Nah. Yet, Activision gets less flak. The gaming community makes no sense to me.

I am going to share a view I have always held and this is gonna be long: I think Activision is DRASTICALLY worse than EA. EA is guilty of tons of bad shit in gaming, that's obvious. They are the ones that made season passes a common thing and their treatment of some of their own franchises like The Sims and Simcity has been rather terrible, even if I think Sims 4 is alright. Unlike Activision though, at least in the modern era, EA still has a decent variety of titles. Activision now is focused on only two games: Call of Duty and Destiny, two generic as hell shooters.
Speaking of, Activision has another thing that EA doesn't: An annual game that has both microtransactions AND a season pass. Every. Year. That is of course Call of Duty. Every single year, it is the same trash but they charge the same for all of it now. The same trashy engine, lacking beyond their competition in every aspect and yet they keep churning them out year after year with no regards to quality or customer satisfaction. Each year it is lie after lie. I remember when they said that the new Call of Duty would have 'dedicated servers' and it ended up not actually have that. They did that for at least 3 or 4 years. Activision will never abandon the tired, old engine they have because it is probably extremely cheap to produce a game with. It is so outdated, that Call of Duty WW2 in NATIVE 4K on Xbox One, looks WORSE than Battlefield 4 on Xbox One. A game from over 4 years ago, in only 1080p, that has massive maps, 64 players and destruction, looks BETTER than the latest Call of Duty title, which has none of those things, despite it being in native 4K. Call of Duty ages horribly because of this, while BF4 is still a lot of fun to this day and has a good following, not to mention EA eventually made ALL DLC free for Battlefield 4, something Activision will NEVER do with their own games.
Of course there is the Destiny situation too that Activision has created. Destiny is an example on how to do greed in this industry. Twice in a row, they have released an unfinished pile of garbage for $60, releasing two bare bones expansions for $20 each and then hopes to bring everyone back with a $40 expansion in September, all the while locking off base game content if you do not own the overpriced DLC. They did this exact thing with Destiny 1 and it is repeating in Destiny 2. Somehow, people are surprised by this. I saw it from 100 miles away. This is Activision. They never back down despite extreme backlash. EA at least has the decency to surrender to sheer outrage, at least to some extent, but Activision holds their own greed up like a flag. They wave it around with pride, knowing that people will buy their worthless shit anyways. Battlefront 2 is at least a game that is quality underneath its design problems. Neither COD or Destiny can say that. Let's also not forget that with Destiny, Activision actively looked into ways to make people get the same feeling as if they were at a casino gambling, so then they would keep playing the same worthless content over and over for the hopes of some awesome loot.
Anyone remember Modern Warfare Remastered? They remastered Call of Duty 4, a game loved by millions (even though it has aged like milk on the Sun) and shoved MICROTRANSACTIONS into it. A game that never had them and they put them in there. Even better, instead of including the one map pack the game got back in 2008 into this remaster, they instead release it separately and charge MORE for it now than it was a decade ago. This is just to squeeze more money out of fans who hold the game close. Compare this to Burnout Paradise Remastered, an EA product, that is the same price as MWR. It includes ALL DLC from the original game, and that is a lot of content. Activision, they do nothing for the fans, they only want their money. That is why they remake fan favorite maps from past games and lock them beyond a season pass for the first 6 months of the game's life and by then when they release it to everyone, the new game is already confirmed. The cycle endlessly repeats. In the latest game, Call of Duty WWII, the developers were so lazy as a result of Activision wanting them to churn worthless shit out, that in their loot boxes, they reused the same emotes over and over again and simply gave them different names. Seriously. There is a simple emote of the character doing a boring handwave gesture and that is reused 8 TIMES. Another emote, the 'shoulder dust', is reused 5 times. They are actually copy and pasting EMOTES and giving them different names to trick idiots into thinking they are different. Some even have different rarities even though they are exactly the same. Call of Duty WW2 also introduces the mechanic of opening up your loot boxes in front of other people in a lobby. This exists for the sole purpose of other people seeing you get something 'super rare' and wanting to spend money to buy boxes themselves. That is using microtransactions in AAA gaming in the worst possible way, in my opinion even worse than Battlefront 2. Battlefront 2 at least has no season pass to speak of.
All of these terrible things will happen every single time. Destiny 3 will be a repeat of Destiny 1 and 2. Call of Duty #56,000,000 will have the exact same problems as all of the others. Nothing will ever change. Activision is even going so far to milk the ever living hell out of the Black Ops name, WITHIN a milked to death series. They usually only do trilogies in terms of COD subtitles, but nope. Gotta keep that Black Ops money train going and now, they are getting rid of single player in favor of a cash grab, bandwagon battle royal mode. I cannot wait to see that be a disaster. The worthless puppets that work for Activision deserve no less than a disaster. EA at least now has fear within them and if Battlefront 3 is made, there is at least a chance it will start off way better, plus EA is at least trying to gain goodwill back with BF2.
All of this on top of Activision churning out TERRIBLE movie and TV show tie-in games in the past, them literally killing the music genre by spamming Guitar Hero into the ground, killing off the Tony Hawk series only to reboot it with the worst game in the series by far and thinking it was okay for release, the list goes on and on.
In summary: While EA has many bad parts to them that need to be addressed, Activision is a literal cancer on this industry. One that I hope dies off. If Activision falls, the gaming industry would be a better place. Everyone focuses on EA as the worst thing in the universe, but at this point I think that is simply people mindlessly bandwagoning on memes, because there is no way in hell that EA is worse than Activision.
For the record, I don't even own Battlefront 2, I just think it is a good point of comparison.

The title describes it well. Are there genres in any form of media that you both love and hate? Why is it so? Explain thine opinion.
One for me is the Rogue-lite/like genre of video games. It is sadly a fairly over-saturated genre now and it has so many problems. Many games within it suffer from the same issues, like cheap difficulty, repetition, and relying on randomness in place of consistent content. The upside of the genre is that it can have near infinite replayablity, but to me, only games that can really nail it can achieve that. The Binding of Isaac Rebirth along with its expansions, it has enough variety and ways to play it that it rises above the genre's issues, even though it still shares them. A game like Death Road to Canada, is an example of doing it wrong, offering little in terms of actual gameplay variety and just being a chore. So it is a genre I want to love, yet I happen to despise it as well because of its very obvious faults.

I posted in this a long time ago. Since then, some other ponies are on my hate radar. One in particular is Zephyr Breeze. I hate pretty much everything about him. His personality, his actions, and the fact that we were suppose to like him just because he 'accomplished' something at the end. He was still a total dick. One's accomplishments mean nothing to me if they are a terrible person.

When people say 'kids show' instead of 'family show'. It bothers me a lot, but I know it doesn't matter at all, so it is just dumb.

Super Metroid is ALREADY one of the original 21 games. Right there with Final Fantasy III (now known as Final Fantasy VI).
The buttons on the Switch are a reason why we DON'T have VC on the Switch, and never will. How can you play N64 with only ONE Joy-Con? You'd have to buy THREE MORE SETS, and that would eat up even MORE money than a hypothetical N64 Classic Edition. Besides, it's a lot easier for them to put 20 or so VC Games up, and enhance them with Netplay, so you could play some 2P Co-Op games online.
You couldn't play N64 games with a default Wii controller either and that is you couldn't play them AT ALL, unless you had a Gamecube controller or Classic controller, let alone play them in multiplayer. Nintendo already had a massive library built with the virtual console over the years, there is no proper excuse to not have it on the Switch. It does mean that they don't have to transfer our Wii U and 3DS VC purchases over to the Switch, so, more money for them I guess. They are simply begging for people to hack their Switch at this point.
Don't get me wrong, for what it is, the NES and SNES Classic are both a good deal compared to the virtual console if you bought all of those games on there, but it still is a terrible alternative considering Nintendo's history of artificially raising demand.
-
I would prefer the classic edition units to vanish if it meant we could have the virtual console on the Switch. The way it is now, I don't see it as a worthy trade off, but hey, Nintendo finally isn't artificially inflating demand with this thing. At least not until this shipment sells out.

RD may have the smug, but Stellar has the super smug. Her many expressions in a single episode made her win the title of Smug Pony Queen. Soon she will start a band and she will call it 'Stellar and the Smugglers'. It will last for only two albums.

Bought Death Road to Canada a couple of days ago. Ehhhhh, it is alright, I guess. Rogue like is a genre that is extremely hit and miss and that is no more apparent than this game. At times it is extremely unfair and it has a very poor sense of difficulty. Near the end of the run if you make it that far they throw so much at you at once that it is entirely luck if you make it. There's also no real sense of feeling overpowered in this game, at least not that I have seen and that is a staple of the genre, to counter balance how random everything is. You can potentially become super strong with what you find, but that doesn't really happen in this game. Plus the humor is terrible. As in, it is like humor from a dumb 12 year old. Extremely childish and painfully unfunny. "LOLZ This gamez humor iz so random and funny LOLZ"
I do like the music a lot and I like the amount of variety that can be had with characters, especially custom ones. Sadly after beating a run once, I sorta feel burnt out already. I don't feel too much desire to go back very often. The runs take far too long and you get little in return if you die, another sad staple of the genre. Mostly makes one feel that they are completely wasting their time, and not in a good way like gaming is suppose to do.

How bad is racism/sexism, etc in the MLP fandom?
in General Discussion
We've done so much and yet after ALL OF THAT, in 2018, we are having problems with white supremacist shit heads in this country being on the rise and Trump creating hatred and division amongst everyone. We also have school shootings happening all the time and then ensues endless debates that accomplish nothing. With stuff like this going on, cynicism just comes naturally. I have a more negative view of this country than the human race overall.
