Just realised that I've become somewhat of a serious person lately. I don't really mind it, but it's definitely a bit of a contrast to what I'm used to.

To quote a certain Australian chaotic clown:

"Why is you of such seriousness?" :p

Of course racism is bad. Why else do you think I'm opposing wokeism? Well, there are other reasons but this is one of them. And yes, people will abuse the word woke. After all, it's a bad word. It means bad things. Just like racism. Those opposing wokeism are not opposing teaching morals to kids. That is encouraged.

The obvious problem is that to the "anti woke" crowd, there is almost no line to begin with. Almost everything is considered woke now and that's why I can't give any credit to this movement. Somehow this movie escaped the wrath of the internet but I do remember so many people waiting anxiously to rip this film apart if it seemed "woke" at all. At that point, are people just looking for things to be mad about? That sounds an awful lot like a criticism thrown towards "SJW's" but I am seeing it so much in the anti woke brigade.

It would be woke if they'd portray two pony tribes as saints and one as comically evil cause that's just what woke activists do.

AKA the strategy of....a lot of media within the past what, 80 years? (and US history books)

Tons of media has used "good vs evil" as its basis. The only difference in this whole "woke" argument is that some media tip toe around real world issues (or by the standards of the anti-woke crowd, almost everything does this now I guess). However, the formula actually does not change even with those issues applied. There are different ways to go about it of course, but in the end, racism is bad. Homophobia is bad. Xenophobia is bad. Sounds like the same good vs evil equation to me. Of course there's far more I can say in that regard but my post already is in an area the site doesn't like so I'll stop while I'm ahead I suppose. Not like anything I say on the subject even matters to most people anyways. Frankly, I'm simply tired of everything being declared "woke" by people. It has gotten so, so old.

  4. This is such a perfect example of "just throw a bunch of really famous people into a movie and everyone will watch it." As if the brand recognition of MARIO wasn't enough to sell it or something. Throw a ton of celebrities into the mix and get all the memey reactions, boom, movie will be a success. Quality doesn't matter. Of course, I am not saying the movie will be bad solely on this kind of obvious marketing gimmick because yes, many people in this are good actors, but good actors mean nothing if their given material is a dumpster fire. That's the last thing anyone even cares about anymore though. These days, people are so desperate for any kind of new entertainment high that they'll pay to see something regardless if it is good or atrociously awful. I feel like one of the only people who see's the very likely manipulation happening with how they are both doing the casting and how they revealed it. Clearly it is working because all of a sudden everyone conveniently ignores this being made by Illumination, who mostly makes generic, by the numbers animated films. I guess they are gonna love their massive paycheck for this because it is guaranteed now matter what they do.

I miss the days when people had standards instead of just memes and ""reactions"".

  5. I'm really not sure what they are trying to accomplish with this one. You can get Android tablets for a very cheap price these days so if a young kid wants one it is extremely easy. This thing being $160 blows my mind. I sure hope this isn't a sign that G5 is going to be milked to the heavens and back to Earth because we already get enough reminders of rampant capitalism as is. I don't want the ponies to remind me.

But everybody needs sleep though :ooh:

Y'know, that is a really good point. :P Perhaps I myself am not weak, but all of us are. But then that would make us normal and thus weak wouldn't apply...Hm. Huh. Yes. :wau:

What am I thinking of? Cake. Haven't dug into the cake I got yesterday.  :sunbutt:

I hope @Kyoshi is having an AWESOME birthday! :D

I appreciate it. It hasn't been special in any way though. My birthdays never are anymore. I guess I go into it with this mindset of hoping they can be something special but each year they end up being nothing at all. All that tends to do is depress me. Didn't even have a simple cake. I don't know if people just don't bother with cakes and stuff as time goes on but my mind still hopes for something like that. Instead I get reminders of the inevitable.

I know me feeling down seems like the norm but my birthday often hits me hard. I try to be positive when it draws near and then it sorta falls apart. Then the day comes to a close as if nothing happened, because nothing happened.

Bit of a ramble from me there. Just have thoughts going around in my head. I still greatly appreciate the sihes from you all and the gift my boyfriend got for me, I will always cherish that.

As for the topic at hand, I am thinking of... Not much right now. Maybe what movies or shows I want to get in the Microsoft Store sale going on. Always like adding more to my collection.

  8. If you love music, there's going to be songs that hit you emotionally for whatever reason. What about particular moments of songs? Ones that hit even harder for you within the song itself. Does anyone else have things like that?

This is one example for me, the one that inspired the topic for me. The particular moment is the ending of the track, starting at 6:53. The entire song is wonderful and hits many emotional beats for me, but the ending in particular hits harder.

  9. Yeesh. My previous post is so outdated. :ButtercupLaugh:That was back when I was still very much unsure of myself. I later accepted that I am gay. Frankly I think I only thought I was Bi because I was still a tad worried what my family would think. Now I don't give two sodding waffles about that.

On the plus side, you would be the first equine Disney Princess. :twi:

@Kyoshi I always feel sad when you say things like that.  ezgif-6-8b5df905f94d.gif.2f5b7f0fc8079fd9919da903ad0c6953.gif

Sorry, that's just me being stupid. I apologize for making anyone worry. I don't want to do that. Making those I care about stress over me is simply dumb of me and I will try my best to not cause that problem.

As for my thinking currently: Hmm, I wonder what's for dinner.

  11. Dark Souls 2 is a terrible game. I've beaten it twice but playing it again after such a long break and replaying DS1 and DS3 within that time, holy shit, DS2 is so much worse than I remember. Everything about the game feels like a massive step backwards in terms of the combat. The bosses are all lame and the hitboxes, my god the goddamn hitboxes. They are actively f***ed in this game. It is so obvious that the team who made DS2 was just some D-team who apparently had no idea what made DS1 so damn good.

  12. I’m getting out and leaving you behind
I’m so tired of forging a life
On the run a loaded gun
There’s a name on the bullet I’m afraid its mine

I’m on the first boat leaving this war
I never got what we were fighting for
The water’s warm I can see dry land
No longer living under your command

    I’m gonna sleep well
    Sleep tonight
    On the shore
    Beneath an empty sky
