    Megaman X
    Platform: SNES
    Genre: Platformer/Shooter
    Publisher/Developer: Capcom
*This is a review for the original Megaman X on SNES, not Maverick Hunter X on PSP or any other versions of Megaman X

Megaman X is one of my all time favorite games from my childhood. When it came out it was near 16-bit perfection. The graphics were sleek and stylish, the music was AWESOME, and the gameplay was so great that it stands the test of time entirely.

In the game you play as X, a Maverick Hunter who...well, Hunts Mavericks, robots that are being used by the evil Sigma to rule the world! X does this with his trusty pal Zero, a fellow and more powerful Hunter.

You see Zero later in the iconic and excellent first stage where you are immediately set into a city environment where chaos is being unleashed. You get an awesome song to accompany you as you traverse. X starts out relatively weak but over time, you collect power ups like armor, health boosts, and of course the new powers that you get from defeating each of the game's bosses, the Mavericks. The gameplay feels similar to the other Megaman games, you run, you shoot, and keep going. However, as the game progresses, you get more abilities to help you traverse, such as a dash. These add far more maneuverability to X than his original counterparts and it's one of the reasons that the gameplay is so sweet. Plus, you can traverse up walls with a sort of mini wall climb, adding great verticality to the gameplay as well.

Once you complete the first stage and meet the almighty Zero, you are then given the freedom to choose from 8 different stages, (Hey, this is just like Megaman!) each one designed for the themes of the different bosses. Chill Penguin for example, has a 'cool' ice and snowy themed level. Each level has their own secrets and even difficulty, some are harder than others. Each stage also has their own wonderful 16-bit music track and they are some of the best of the 16-bit era by far. This is when Capcom cared.

Upon defeating a boss, in classic Megaman fashion, you gain their ability. These abilities are better than ever as they each have their own awesome attributes, though all of them are almost strictly for combat here, for the most part. What is really neat is that each of the bosses have a weakness to a specific power. For example, Chill Penguin's Ice Shot power is incredibly effective against the Maverick 'Spark Mandrill', as it freezes him. Each boss has a weakness like this and it is fun to experiment and see what does what. Even the final bosses much later in the game have some kind of weakness, so experimentation is key.

Another really cool aspect of the game is how completing certain levels in certain orders will affect the other stages. If you complete some stages before others, you may change certain aspects of another level, potentially making it a lot easier. This again adds a level of experimentation and replay-ability but doing so creatively rather than just on sheer difficulty.

Each power up you gain over time makes you feel significantly stronger. By the end of the game, you are world's stronger than how you started and that feeling of progression is done incredibly well for a sidescroller like this. Not many games like this could pull that off well, from what I remember. It gives the game a sense of adventure. This game and Super Mario World were two of the first games to ever give me that feeling.

If I had any complaints at all, it might be the string of final bosses that I felt were a bit tacked on as they don't offer much in terms of levels, just a difficult boss fight. It feels a little bit like padding. This obviously isn't much of a gripe though when the game is this good.

    Virtua Fighter 5
Platform: Xbox 360, PS3(No online play on PS3 version)
    Genre: Fighting
    Publisher/Developer: SEGA/SEGA AM2
*This is a review for the original Virtua Fighter 5, not Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

The fighting genre has been very active over the past few years. With the likes of Blazblue, Mortal Kombat, and all of the Capcom fighters, there definitely has been no shortage of arcade fighters to satisfy gamers. However, with all of the good and bad fighting games over the years, there is one from 2007/08 that I always go back to and enjoy more than any of the others, that is the 3D fighter Virtua Fighter 5.

VF5 is, as you could guess, the 5th entry in the Virtua Fighter series. It features 2 new characters for the series, Eileen and El Blaze, as well as 15 returning VF characters, bringing the count to 17 for this release. The character roster might seem small compared to other fighters in recent memory, but each one uses real life fighting styles and they are fleshed out better than most fighting game characters entirely. This makes mastering a certain characters that you enjoy to use incredibly satisfying and relies on the efficiency of the real fighting techniques rather than flashy, over-the-top combos.

The gameplay is what you would expect from the series, but it has never been better. It is a 3D fighter where you can strafe across the arena's with relatively fluid movement, for a fighting game at least. There are ring outs, guarding, grabs, and more technical moves. While some moves are better than others, there are no unblockable, flashy Super Attacks here. Each attack can be properly countered or guarded depending on your timing and knowing what kind of attack it is. The gameplay here is top notch and most likely my favorite fighting engine in history.

The modes are fairly standard for the VF series. You have the standard arcade mode, where you climb the ladder and defeat the boss, VS, which is local multiplayer, Quest Mode, where you choose a character, rank up, and do endless an endless amount of fights among real Sega arcades, and new to the series and only for the Xbox 360 version, online play. There are other modes like VF TV where you can view CPU matches or saved replays and a customize mode. Out of these modes, Quest is by far my favorite. It can provide tons and tons of hours of gameplay and it is quite addicting. As you fight in this mode, you rank up and earn money and items to customize your character, with a surprising amount of options. Each arcade offers different difficulties for fights depending on which one you choose and in Arcade fashion, you fight until you lose or quit. During these fights you might have an item battle pop up or a ranking battle. These in combination with the excellent fighting system, can keep you fighting and fighting for hours on end and that is a great thing. My only gripe with this mode is the insanely cheap AI in the harder arcades. They are very cheesy and use spamming moves and immediately counter all guarding. Thankfully, those are pretty much optional unless you want to rank up further. All of the other modes are fairly standard in comparison to Quest, you know what to expect with them. Online play is the only other unique mode but sadly it kinda falls flat, with no real activity with the original version. This does not bother me as I hate fighting games online, but for those that like it, the mode here is a ghost town. The PS3 version does not include this mode at all, but the 360 version doesn't feel like it does either. Lastly there is a Dojo mode for practicing and learning the moves of the characters, with trial modes for each. It is standard as well but works well too. I recommend going here first if you are new of course.

The last thing I want to mention is the graphics of the game. While it may not seem important for a game like this, VF5 manages to have an impressive graphical look with fantastic looking character models and stages, with some pretty cool water effects as well. Also, the English voice acting of those that speak it is incredibly cheesy but charming in a way. The Japanese voiced characters are performed far better.

    Final Verdict:

    Thank you for reading.

    Until next week,

Hello and welcome back to Turbo Highlights! This time, I am sharing another Youtube channel, one that I feel is also very under appreciated. This channel is called Storpey.

Storpey is a gaming channel ran by Steve Torpey. He is known mostly for playing horror games and getting scared quite easily. Now hold on, don't turn away yet. This sounds familiar right? PewDiePie? Markiplier? He is no different from them right? WRONG!! I will explain why.

Other Youtuber's like those above, I feel are very dis-genuine, relying on fake scares, fake rage, over the top nonsense and annoying sounds in order to be 'entertaining', when mostly they come off as childish in a really bad way. I was once a fan of Mark, but over time he has lost all of his charm has become quite irritating, much like PewDiePie, whom I have never enjoyed. Doing things to entertain in the video is fine, except when those things feel forced and are annoying.

Steve is different to me. When I watch his videos, it almost feels like hanging out with a friend. He is down to earth, realistic, funny, and above all else just a joy to watch or listen to. He lets himself be absorbed into a game, which he does get scared quite easily but the fear he feels is genuine. He is just scared really easily. He does not just get scared though. He also allows himself to appreciate a game and it's wonder if the game is good. He enjoys what he does.

    http://youtu.be/GFufQRZvZUk
As you can see, he gets scared easily, but he isn't fake

Another important aspect about him that I love, he plays FAR more than just horror games. He has played Minecraft, Hearthstone, he is currently playing Skyrim, and others. All of these are just a joy to watch, as he truly enjoys these games himself. He loves Minecraft and he doesn't go over the top or crazy just to get more subscribers. He just enjoys the game and even interacts with his viewers. Even videos about simulator games that he has played are pleasant because of his relaxing tone of voice and overall pleasant personality. I find myself listening to his videos all the time while doing other things.

    http://youtu.be/VKySUVnMu5Y
His Minecraft series is incredibly relaxing and a pleasure to watch or listen to

Currently, Steve is not as active as he has been before due to problems relating to RSI-like symptoms but what he does upload is always a treat. I highly recommend checking out his channel for yourself. You may enjoy his videos just like me. He may not be some (in my opinion) fake like PewDiePie or Markiplier, but that isn't a bad thing is it? Steve also has a lovely singing voice. :3

    Here is his channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/storpey

Thanks for reading the third Turbo Highlight. I hope you enjoyed it. By the way, while I do heavily dislike Markiplier now and PewDiePie, if you enjoy their content, I have no problem with that. Enjoy what you enjoy, regardless of my opinions on them.

    Child of Light
Platform: Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Vita
    Genre: RPG
    Publisher/Developer: Ubisoft/Ubisoft Montpellier

Child of Light was an unbelievably pleasant surprise. It is an RPG set in a fantasy land where you battle monsters, level up, and experience something truly wonderful. That being, this entire game.
The gameplay is a sidescrolling turn based RPG. You run and mostly fly around as Aurora, with her firefly companion Ignicolus, and find chests, gather items, battle monsters, level up, and recruit new party members. You traverse through the beautiful world and as you do, there are monsters in the overworld that when contact is made, you battle them. This is nice because you have a boost that done with the A button that can help you avoid needless fighting if you want to keep moving. You also solve some puzzles, with the help of your Firefly. Using the right trigger, he can light up switches, collect items, and blind enemies so you can surprise attack them or get past them entirely. This aspect goes into combat as well. The overworld gameplay is simple but works perfectly fine and you get the beautiful art and music to accompany you as you move about. There are also stones called Oculi that you collect and these can be combined and upgradde and they give you bonuses for combat, such as the different elements, XP boosts, speed boosts and more. This is a simplistic system that is done very well. Finding out the better combinations is a nice diversion. There isn't a whole ton of depth with the oculi system but as the rest of the game shows, simplicity can work wonders.

The battle system is heavily inspired by the Grandia series. You have a timeline at the bottom of the screen and icons that represent your party members and the enemies. These move along the timeline and you have a 'wait' zone and an 'action' zone. When your party members reach the action zone, the game lets you pick what you want to do, if you want to attack, defend, etc. If you or your enemies are hit during the action zone, it will place them back in the middle of the wait zone. Luckily you have trusty Ignicolus to help slow down enemies, as long as you have enough 'faries' to use him, which you can collect mid battle. Using the right trigger you can blind enemies which slows them down on the timeline and you can use this to time your attacks and defend. Defending prevents being sent back on the timeline and boosts the speed of your next action. This battle system keeps things interesting and prevents just pressing one button without looking. It isn't unique completely, but not many games have done it this way and works very well. Also, each enemy has an element and depending on what Oculi you have and where you have them equipped, it will grant you that element. So if you have a Blue Oculi equipped to your weapon slot, your attacks will deal Water damage and these attacks will do more damage to Fire enemies.
Story itself is relatively simple but surprisingly entertaining. The entire script is done in rhyme and this is quite impressive. I read the entire script as I played the game and I enjoyed every bit of it. Each of the characters have their own personalities that are surprisingly expressed well given that they have no voices. The story might seem a bit simplistic at times but I was fine with it and it reminded me of old fairytales. The script and music really helped to set the mood in at the right times.
The last things I want to mention are the music and art of the game. This game is beautiful, both visually and sound. The backgrounds and art in the game are such a pleasant treat for the eyes and the music is soothing, and just plain wonderful. It also shifts in intensity when it needs to depending on the situation. If you appreciate art or music at all, this game will impress you.
    Final Verdict:

Hope you enjoyed this week's review.

    Enchanted Arms
    Platform: Xbox 360, PS3(2007 release)
    Genre: JRPG
    Publisher/Developer: Ubisoft/From Software

Enchanted Arms is a neat little RPG that was released in 2006 for the Xbox 360 and later in 2007 for the PS3. It has a good graphical style for the time and classic JRPG gameplay elements with questionable storytelling. It takes place in a world powered and populated by golems that are controlled by humans. The story actually has good moments to it, mostly in some pretty cool cutscenese, but the characters themselves stick out as pretty generic anime stereotypes. The voice acting is passable and even better with the Japanese voice option, which I personally recommend. There is quite a lot of dialogue in the game but luckily it can be skipped through if you are a fast reader. Sadly the story just isn't very engaging over time, you might lose track of it eventually. It's the gameplay that makes the game worth it. Just as a side note, the characters and story overall aren't as bad as the dreaded FF13 trilogy.

The gameplay is pretty standard fair for the genre in ways. You move along a linear path through the world, you will find random chests with items, complete little puzzles, and random battles will occur as you move along. This will bring you into a battle mode where you face off against usually more than one opponent. The battle system works on a grid and you move your character around this grid to set up attacks or defend, sorta like FF Tactics but waaaaaaaay smaller and far more limited. So FFTactics isn't the best comparison. You then command your characters to attack or defend and so on. During attacks, you can hold down the Y button to fast forward the attack animations which is appreciated for a game like this that has so much fighting. Call it Turbo Fighting! *ahem* Each attack has an element to them, such as fire or water and others and this aspect, while neat on premise, falls a bit flat here. Instead of having opposite elements work against each other, like fire is weak to water, instead the same type of elements are what do this, so it is like water is weak to water and so on. Odd system eh? It is and it is a slightly disappointing aspect. (Imma beat your water with my water!)

Leveling up and earning new abilities and weapons is fairly standard. You earn experience points that level you up and 'BP' that can be allocated to different stats, boosting them and you earn money to buy new equipment or 'fuse' different cores that you find to create new ones. This is small but it works well for the game it is in. Also, there is a system where you find random golems sitting in different spots throughout the game. When defeated, they give you a core. Get enough materials and you can revive these golems to fight beside you. This adds a very tiny bit of a collectible mechanic to the game and it does add diversity, as it gives you more party members to choose from, each with their own elements and attacks. It's not a pokemon-like collectibility at all but it certainly was done better than FF13-2's monster catching system. The overall gameplay isn't the most unique system out there but it definitely functions well.

    Final Verdict:

Thank you for reading my first ever Turbo Review! I apologize if it seemed awkwardly worded at times but I will get better. I wanted to condense my thoughts on the game and let you all know what it was like without making it TOO long.

    So until the next review,

    Turbo out!
  6. Kyoshi Frost Wolf
I'm back. If anyone has noticed I have been gone for a few weeks. things happened and.....well, I just needed to leave this place. Thoughts had to be arranged and things needed to be done. It was rather depressing all at first. For a time, I was unsure if I would ever return. The thing is, I had to eventually. Despite some aspects about this forum that bother me, this is one of the only places where I feel wanted, where I feel like people care about me. not just internet-wise but in general. I may not feel worthy of friends a lot, but I cannot abandon the ones I have here. I have had too many friendships die when they shouldn't have. Too many things I have screwed up.I am not doing that here.

So I have decided something. Little factoids about me, I am basically a child in a 21 year old's body. That isn't some metaphor, thats pretty much who I am. Who I will always will be. I enjoy simple stuff. I love my video games, my music, my random obsessions and whatnot, these things I once cherished when I was younger. Due to the depression and sheer internal conflict, I found it hard to enjoy anything now. Any of those things that I cherished before. I let thoughts get in the way. I thought that I had to be like someone else. I thought I had to do this or that with my life. I put so many pointless expectations on myself, instead of being who I am. Well, things are gonna change.

Anyone remember my Ponysona, Kyoshi? I use him as a form of expression of myself, of who I am. A representation of me. I know now that I was doing it all wrong before. He wasn't Pony that embraced who he was, his child-like nature and simple enjoyments. I was trying to channel something different. That was a mistake. Thats not who I am. I remembered this when I discovered Button Mash, a colt that opened my eyes before. That character made me think of me so much, and how I want to just be me. I want my Ponysona to be me, to represent me. Not in the way of appearance but everything else. Like Button Mash.

So without further babbling, let me welcome Kyoshi 'Turbo Button' Lonehearted.

This is the revival and rebirth of my Ponysona, my representation in pony form. He is a young colt who loves video games and simple things. He loves cold weather, snowy mountains and rain. He is shy, extremely so, he finds is hard to make new friends. He listens to music a lot, to express in his own mind his vivd imagination. He can seem kinda cold at first but he is actually quite soft. Once you get to know him, you will see this side open up. Sometimes he thinks he needs to be the cool pony around, that he needs to be immensely talented or special. He sometimes compares himself with others needlessly. Then he realizes that who he is, is all thats needed.

This is who will represent me here from now on. Nothing else will. It is a step I am taking to try and accept myself. I know that this is no easy fix, I will still struggle with the thoughts, the depression, and even the self hatred at times. Plenty of times. Thats a sad truth, but now, I can at least look at Turbo, and reflect myself in him.

I know I have made mistakes in the past here and I do apologize for them. I have neglected friends, brought down others, and its something I feel extreme guilt for now. I know now that it was wrong what I did before and it won't happen again. Turbo will not allow it. I will try to appreciate the friends I have here, because they are some of the only friends I have.

You are all awesome for supporting me, I mean that. I have always felt unworthy yet you continued. That shows what friendship really is.

I will end this post here for now, I know it was really long. I wanted to express all that I am thinking of. My wording can be odd but it doesn't matter. What I say is true. I will do better or at least try. With you all here and now with Trubo, it can at least be easier.

    So until next time,

    Turbo out.

I have been thinking of new ideas for my thread called 'Kyoshi's Sigs For Everypony!', which if you don't know what it is or haven't seen it, it can be found here: http://mlpforums.com/topic/77071-kyoshis-sigs-for-everypony-wip/ . I have different ideas for characters and pairs so far but I have thought of another idea. How about a weekly thing, called 'OC Highlight of the Week', where every week I choose an OC out of a list of submissions at random and make a sig specifically for it. It will be at the top of the post, with a link to the character's info page (if available) and a link to the submitter's profile. I will accept any OC's regardless if they were made with Pony Creator. Many seem to hate the PC, I don't mind it at all. I can then have a different database in a spoiler of past highlights and have a new collection . What do you all think?

It is finally here everypony! After a horrendous hiatus filled with questions, anger, sadness, and overall huge negativity by some in the fandom, season 4 has begun. It feels like it was just yesterday that season 3 started and it is a crazy feeling. Watch out, some spoilers ahead.

Anyways, how was the premiere for the season? A lot of tension has built up over the months for some and while I myself was keeping a very positive attitude about the season, I did have some slight doubts, more on that later. I can safely say though, that the opening was fantastic. It did so many things right that I had goosebumps all throughout. Many of the burning questions that have accumulated since MMC have been answered and answered well.

This is all I wanted to do while watching the premiere, I was that excited.

The premiere had so many great things that it is difficult to begin describing it. Firstly, I noticed that the animation in some areas is only getting better. The lighting during the Nightmare Moon scene was incredibly well done and it gave the scene so much atmosphere.I had goosebumps throughout these scenes.

Second, it answered so many questions that worried some others (and to a slight extent, me). The biggest had to do with Twilicorn. While there are still a couple of questions that need answers, they hit so many right notes. As a princess, Twilight isn't some 'Mary sue' at this point. She is still learning. That was the first question answered and it was done well. The second question was Twilight leaving her friends and her friends becoming useless. Twilight will not be abandoning her friends, this was addressed in such a great way. Twilight fully acknowledges that while she WILL have extra duties and responsibilities now, she still will stay close to her friends and not abandon them. This also confirms that her friends are just as important as ever, maybe even moreso now. Twilight is still her adorkable self and this change in responsibilities is fantastic. It shows progression of the characters and the show itself. Personally I hope to see much more of this.

Another thing that this shows clearly, is that the writers are fully comfortable with moving forward in the series. I cannot express how much I love this. My mane fear was them backing out on the Twilicorn thing and it is clear as day that they are comfortable with the change and are moving forward.

Another point to this, was the Elements of Harmony. These have apparently been abandoned now and that is an interesting twist. It is now apparently being replaced by a new lockbox thingy that we know nothing about. This was very well done as well and it gives us a totally new major thing to think and wonder about.

The characters were all in true form and we even got some juicy backstory. Sure it was done through a random potion that Zecora conveniently had, but I do think it worked for what it was. The flashbacks made up for any cliché with that. Discord was also hilarious here and that shows that even while reformed, Discord is just as prankster-like and fun as ever.

    Yep.

On a random note, there was not a single song in the entire premiere. This was interesting to see given that they can be used to help push a plot along at a quickened pace. That was not the case here and it actually helped the premiere as it had many serious moments.

The only real problem that I might have seen was some pacing issues. Some parts went by really fast while others went slower and had me in huge anticipation. It was a bit inconsistent.

One other complaint I have heard from a few bronies is that Twilight was having trouble flying when she clearly flew well in MMC. This is an inconsistency yes, but it is justified in my opinion. Her flying like that in MMC basically was used for the sole purpose of ending the episode. Inconsistent? Yes. Completely forgivable? Well for me, yep. This complaint actually feels like some harsh nitpicking.

Those damn wings sure did ruin the show. Amiright?

Despite that, this was a fantastic start to season 4. The fact that the writers are continuing to move forward with the series makes me incredibly excited for the show's future. We have 24 more episodes to look forward to so we have many fun times ahead. Overall I feel that the premiere has given us a wonderful start for a wonderful season.

I don't do these kind of posts often so I apologize for it being crappy. I just wanted to give my opinion because I loved it and I am very excited for the future.
  9. Kyoshi Frost Wolf
I do not post blogs very often. Why? Because my life is boring and pointless. Nobody would truly want to know about it. So instead, I thought I would just share some random music because anything is better than my opinions on stuff. This is music that you may or may not know. I am basically going to post these randomly.

First up, is 'The Feeble Mind' by Psyclon Nine. This is one of my favorite songs by them. The lyrics are few but to the point.

    The lyrics are:

"Your flesh a shrine to my soul torn from bone dripping crimson red
Your time is now I dream of death on ready wings with nothing left
Light floods your eyes as you struggle bound in terror
Enveloped in the stench of morality
Tattered dolls found wrapped in plastic
    Tortured souls freed from humanity
The feeble mind will pray to God the feeble mind will fall
  10. Kyoshi Frost Wolf
So, I am depressed, as many of you might know. I am trying to fight it off right now. Recently, my medical insurance thing finally went through so I might be able to get a counselor and some type of meds soon. Anything to keep these thoughts out of my mind, because they are only getting worse with each day.

To help combat this for now, I want to make banners. I like making banners, it makes me feel important to something for once, since I am not important to anything else in existence. Even though they probably will not be used for the site....I was hoping some of you could give me some ideas. Maybe for theme? Perhaps a specific pony or ponies to center it around? Something to give me a blueprint. Any suggestions are appreciated. In my current state of mind, coming up with these thing is difficult right now.

In other news, here is some information about my main OC Kyoshi Lonehearted. I have no other major OCs right now. I have mainly just worked on him. This is info that some of you might already know.

He is based off of two sides of my personality. His pre-transformation self is based off of my current personality, while his post transformation self is based off of how I wish I was.
He is from the Frozen North
He was a pegasus. then was permanently transformed by the Alicorn Amulet, which infused itself with him, going where his Cutie Mark should have been. (I actually came up with this idea in late 2012)
He never earned his Cutie Mark
His personality is also based off of internal conflict, which again is based from me.
His main skill of magic, once he learns it well, is the magic of creation. He is also skilled with hallucinogenic magic.
He later learns how to completely suppress his emotions with help from the power of the Amulet, but he is still very unstable, succumbing to those emotions every so often.
He appreciates the simple things or at least tries to. The snow of his homeland being one of his favorite things. His internal conflict damages this for him.
He often times sees himself as inferior to most other ponies, until the infusion.
After the infusion, he mainly becomes apathetic towards most things.
Later, he falls in love with two different ponies, both a different gender and a different pony race. This exemplifies his internal conflict.
He is never truly 'evil', that is not his intention.
Since the Amulet is infused with him, the very concept of corruption flows through his body. It is unclear whether or not he has control over it or it has control over him.
He later seizes control over the Frozen North, cutting off the light from Celestia's sun and Luna's moon, replacing it with his own. Again, these are not with evil intentions, just the drive of wanting to become something worthwhile, though this is taken in extreme form here and might be fueled by the amulet as well.

These are a bunch of different details that I have conjured up. Given the fact that I am terrible at writing, I may never actually write a story about him, as much as I would like to. I have these different ideas and I would love to come up with more characters, but again, my thought process is not entirely clear lately.

So, that is my blog post. I want to start making more. It is nice to make long random things like this, just to get some info out and whatnot.

No, I do not have a date with someone. (In my dreams!) Yes, the premiere date of season 4 has been revealed for November 23rd (of this year! No way! Not in my dreams!). Am I excited? Yes, very much. Am I jumping with joy? Well, I SHOULD be. Thanks to my usual depression and whatnot, I just cannot feel that burning excitement just puts a never ending smile on my face. Now, when the date draws near, I know my excitement will overtake me then. Late Fall/Winter are my favorite times of the year and this just makes it so much better. The feeling of the calming, cold air settling in, the peace that it brings, and now we have ponies. Lots of ponies.

Okay, when I put it that way, it makes me even more happy. Plus, there are a lot of things happening around this time. Apparently the Doctor Who 50th anniversary is on that same day (Not interested but fantastic for those who are), the next gen consoles are coming out (which is always exciting to me, even if I cannot afford either of them), and of course Thanksgiving and the overall holiday season will be starting. I really believe that when the time draws near, it may be some of the best moments I have had in a long time.

Will the wait be grueling? You know, not really. We have survived this long and we have already been through tons of turmoil, drama, negativity and so on. I think a little less than 4 months with overall PEACE and positivity will not be hard at all. Plus, time is just flying by for me at this point.

So have a happy wait I suppose. Hopefully it will be happy. Looking forward to things is always nice and this is the ultimate thing for me.

Sometimes, when you are just randomly listening to different, new music, you stumble upon songs or bands that you feel like you should have already been listening to, for a long time. Case in point for me, Gojira. An amazing French heavy mental band that has a plethora of amazing songs, yet I only discovered them a few months back. The song that introduced me to them? A new single of theirs called 'Stranded'. This song has made me love the band and so I want to share it with you all today.

So here is the song 'Stranded' by Gojira.

When I was a small, ignorant child, I didn't have a huge musical taste. I sorta listened to whatever. around 12-13 years of age though, I started to finally venture and explore my own music tastes, and thus, the music I love now started within those moments. Now my appreciation for music is massive. One of the bands that helped shape this, was Shattermask, as high energy metal band from St. Louis Missouri.

Today, I want to share one of my favorite songs by them, as I have sort of recently rediscovered how great they were. This is one of the beginnings to my love for music.

    Overwatch

    Platform: PC, Xbox One, PS4

    Genre: Class-based Multiplayer FPS

    Publisher/Developer: Blizzard Entertainment

    ESRB: T

Overwatch has rapidly grown into the biggest multipalyer gaming sensation since the release of Team Fortress 2 way back in 2007, and it is from that game that Overwatch takes inspiration from, attempting to be the new multiplayer game that survives for many years to come. Blizzard comes into the genre swinging and hoping to make a lasting impression.

Overwatch is at its most basic, a multiplayer shooter, with 21 characters dubbed as 'heroes' to choose from, each residing within their own class, of which there are 4, Assault, Defense, Tank and Support. Every character has their own fine tuned personality, distinct look and play style. This right here is immediately the game's first positive. The character variety here is immense, better than pretty much any other game of this genre. With such a wide range of heroes and play styles, you will most likely have more than one favorite and you can freely switch between them within respawns or in your starting point. Whether you want to be out on the front lines fighting or staying back and healing, this game offers those choices in a way that is above its competition.

In terms of control, the game also excels handily. This could very well be one of the best controlling mutliplayer FPS games that I have played on a console. Each character has their own movement, but each one is very defined and getting used to how they move is simple. The aiming is something that I felt was very fluid, never did I have a problem finding my target. The game is simply a breeze in terms of control on both console and PC.

Continuing the positives, we have the visuals. This game is bright and vibrant, even moreso than its inspiration, Team Fortress 2. The game is loaded with color and style, each map and character have their own very distinct look and it all leaves a clear mental image that sticks with you. On top of just looking great, each map is also loaded with little bits that bring the world to life. It tells parts of the story that we may not be fully aware of yet.

Now, that brings me to the first negative: The story. Not the story itself, but how it is presented. Overwatch actually has a deeply crafted lore and world, Blizzard has done a fantastic job in that aspect. The problem? Well, you just wouldn't know that in the game itself. Except for the amazing intro video, the game has little to no real info on the story itself and how everything in this world came to be as it is. There are plenty of places to view this stuff online, which of course works, but being able to read all about the lore within the game itself would be a wonderful addition. Far too many games now are relying on external sources for gamers to locate the story.

Another slight blunder, is the balance. For the most part, Overwatch far outmatches its competition in terms of balancing, delivering fun gameplay that is mostly fair. However, some heroes as of the time of this writing, are either heavily outmatched by the other heroes or they simply destroy in comparison. There have been several patches since the game released and it has improved the balance for sure, but some heroes still don't click completely well. The larger problem is within the maps and modes. Again, Overwatch mostly succeeds in this area as well, but the trouble is within the A & B point capture mode, where a team attacks two points, first A then B, while the other team defends. This mode is by far the weakest in the game, with maps that feel very oddly designed compared to the other modes in the game. This mode seems to rely a lot on chokepoints and the defending team has the advantage right out of the gate. This means that the attacking team may just be throwing themselves against a wall the entire time, unable to proceed due to the map preventing them from getting any advantage. While strict coordination can overcome this, it is not always available for many and the other modes do not require this, so this mode for me mostly falls flat. The other modes are near perfection in their execution though.

One last thing, the game matchmakes like a breeze with quick joining times and little to no lag whatsoever. This is also one of the best performing games I have played online. The DLC is promised to be free as well, with a new hero already added to the game.

Music is a beautiful thing. Something I am reminded of rather often. There is always a song that reminds me of it. Then there is sometimes a song that I love but somehow forget about for a while but then was reminded of it thus being reminded of how beautiful music is at the same time! Double combo. In this case, it is A Distance There is by the gorup Theater of Tragedy, a beautiful song that is alos incredibly relaxing.

Kyoshi Share's Music, ACTIVATE! Welcome back to my music sharing stuff. :3 Today, I have an awesome doom metal track by the band Ghost. This particular track has a very classic metal vibe to it that is done ooooh so well and it makes for a very addicting and heavy song. Give it a listen!

Time to get HEAVY! And metal. Heavy metal. Like, at least 3 tons. This song is definitely heavy like that. Melodic death metal is a very interesting genre, it seems to be most popular in European countries and there are a ton of great melodic metal bands out there. Today, I want to share with you a song from one of these and probably my favorite melodic death metal band. On top of that, this is my favorite track of theirs. Two favorites in one!

    Thomas Was Alone

Platform: Xbox One, PS4, PS3, PC, iOS, Android, Wii U, PS Vita

    Genre: Platform Puzzler

    Publisher/Developer: Curve Studios/Mike Bithell

There is always one game every now and again that just goes against every possible expectation you might have had. Then there are games where you had no expectations whatsoever, yet it still manages to blow the non-existent expectations away and that is a glorious feeling. This time, for me, it was Thomas Was Alone, a platform puzzle game that surprised me beyond belief.

Thomas Was Alone, is a platform puzzle game with a sort of minimalist style. You control Thomas, who is just a simple square, in a 2D space, where you will move, jump and solve different puzzles to complete the levels. You will also control other squares and rectangles over time and these have their own size proportions and abilities. As you move through the stages, the story is narrated to you by Danny Wallace and he has a very pleasant voice. He is the only voice you hear throughout the entire game yet I found him to be very soothing.

Being a 2D game, the controls are very basic. You move, you jump, you hit switches at times and that is kind of it, but the way these are implemented feel superb. The game gives you a sense of progress as each stage gets progressively more and more tricky, though there are some dips in difficulty here and there. The game controls really well, albeit with some finicky aspects in the later stages. It is nothing game breaking, but sometimes your timing has to be near perfect to make some of the jumps, though eventually you will get the hang of it. The game fairs well overall in the control department.

The visual style is very simple, yet, incredibly endearing. The very smooth and vibrant colors help shape the atmosphere for the world you are in. When the stages are dark, you feel a sense of isolation that many games try to give but fail. This game lives up to its name quite well at parts.

Then there is the music. The music here is incredible. Absolutely wonderful. Most of it is ambient in nature and no tracks get particularly intense, but this works perfectly for the style of the game. The music here is some of the most pleasant tracks I have heard in a video game and it just keeps you going even if you are having a tough time on a stage.

Really, if I have to say a couple negatives, it would be the sometimes finicky controls later on and the game, while an enthralling experience, is a bit short. The game can be completed in one long play session or two sessions. The game has little collectibles to get but there are not very many and they don't increase the replay value any, but the game itself is so good that I might be playing it at least 5 or 6 times more.

    Final Verdict:

Thank you for reading! This game was such a breathe of fresh air and if you see it on sale and have any curiosity, don't pass it up.

Welcome back to Kyoshi Share's Music! Where Kyoshi shares music! Meaning I share music. I think that makes sense. Regardless, music can be a powerful thing. It can make us happy, sad, inspired, and it can have a powerful effect on emotions. Today, I want to share a song that does just that. It is a song that is powerful, sounds beautiful and all around fills me with a sense of joy. This song focuses on self acceptance, one of the most important things to me.

I won't delay it any further. Here is the song 'Judgment' by The Browning:

Hello and welcome back to...Kyoshi Shares Music? Yeah, that is what I will call it from now on. KSM for short! This is basically where I will share music that I adore so that those that may not have heard it before can discover it as well. I was gonna do this before but I always forgot about it.

Without further ado, here is currently one of my favorite instrumental songs, An Erisian Autumn by Angel Vivaldi.

    Hope you all enjoy it.

Greetings to you all! As some of you may know and most of you don't know, I once did gaming streams back in 2014 on a daily basis where I would stream different Xbox One games. It was really fun and I enjoyed it but I think I burnt myself out on it too quickly. Now, with one of my favorite games being on the One, that being Minecraft, I have decided that I should get back into streaming. So I have come up with a brand new series idea, called Turbocraft!

Turbocraft is my idea for a weekly, interactive Minecraft stream, where every Friday I will stream Minecraft for the Xbox One for at least an hour or so. This would be done with a survival world. Now, notice I used the word 'interactive', that is because I want to make this series community involved! I want the chat and those watching to be able to be a part of this adventure by deciding many different things for me to do and to build. I want to eventually build up a community, not just simple 'viewers' and I want to show my appreciation to all that decided to participate.

After the stream would end, I will start editing the video and upload it to my Youtube account, with many edits and highlights of the members of the community. I won't just simply use an idea that someone suggests and leave it at that, I will highlight whoever gives any suggestions that I use and I will also highlight members randomly if I happen to speak to them. I want this series to be community driven and I want all of you to be a part of the focus, not just me. Each episode every week will be uploaded in an episodic format.

Now I will say that I am not the most exciting of Minecraft players. I play vanilla (of course) survival and I am not the best at building, but we can always see what happens. I may not be terribly exciting but I think I am rather chill and I have a great appreciation for the simple things in Minecraft. So why not hang out? I want this all to be community driven so the more the merrier.

With all of this said and my bad wording aside, what do you all think? Does this sound like a good idea? I would love to hear your input to this. I also might stream random games throughout the week, but the Minecraft series will be the main focus.

If I start this series, I may start it tomorrow, May 28th 2015, so I will try to get that going. This series will not be incredibly unique or over the top in any way, but I absolutely love hanging out with you all and this would be a wonderful way to do so I think.

    Rampage 2: Universal Tour
    Platform: N64, PS1
    Genre: Beat em' Up
    Publisher/Developer: Midway/Avalanche Software
    ESRB: T

The original Rampage in the arcades was a peculiar game. It was all about annihilating everything in your path as giant mutants in order to get a high score. This kind of setting is reminiscent of the Godzilla franchise. Rampage World Tour vastly improved everything about the game and due to its popularity, a sequel was made in the form of Rampage 2: Universal Tour, a game that takes us to the stars and...well, boredom.
Rampage 2 is of course the sequel to Rampage World Tour. The concept is basically exactly the same, you cause chaos, destruction, and mayhem throughout many cities across the world. The gameplay here is the same in almost all areas as the first game. The only major addition to this game is that you now also go to places beyond Earth and into space, but the concept stays the same there. Destroy buildings and move on. When you destroy all of the buildings in a city, you move on to the next one. It is a very simple concept that is very easy to get into, but it suffers from extreme repetition very quickly.

Much like the gameplay, the graphics and sound are essentially the same as the first game with only minor additions. The only other major addition to this sequel are the 3 new characters; A Rhino, a Lobster, and a Mouse. The 3 original characters are unlockable in which you have to save them. The main issue that Rampage suffers from is repetition as I mentioned earlier. The game has a simple goal, destroy everything, but there is no real reward for doing so. There is no real feeling of progression in anything in the game and no stats or additions to your monsters, which would have worked wonders for the game's longevity.

The best aspect to the game and probably what would make me still play it is the 3 player mode. The game allows for up to 3 players to cause carnage and mayhem or even fight each other randomly. You then can compete to who can cause the most destruction as it is tallied at the end of each city. The game is still very mindless in this mode but it at least feels more fun in its mindlessness with others.

    Tomodachi Life
    Platform: Nintendo 3DS
    Genre: Life simulation...kinda
    Publisher/Developer: Nintendo
    ESRB: E

Sometimes, in life, we just want to indulge in a simulation of life, in the form of a video game. Sometimes, we go for Animal Crossing or The Sims or maybe even a simulator game. Then, there are times where we want something that takes all 3 and makes them...weird, but surprisingly really...good. The result is Tomodachi Life for the 3DS, a game that might surprise you.
Tomodachi Life is a strange title to describe as a whole but the premise is pretty simple. You are the runner of an island that you name and on this island, you will populate it with Mii's (Starting with a look-a-like of yourself if you prefer) and these Mii's live in an apartment complex. They live their lives here, talking with each other, having problems to be solved, developing relationships, playing games, and sooooo much more. Seriously, there is a lot of stuff to do here. There are tons of things to collect, see, and overtime, do, but it does take some time. You can create new Mii's, import them from your Mii Maker, or even use QR codes to import Mii's made by others so there are plenty of options for Mii making.

    Yup.
Your Mii's have a happiness rating that increases as you do many things for your Mii's and as their happiness goes up, you earn money to buy clothes, apartment interiors, food, and more all for your Mii's. You also get random items from your Mii's that can be used to entertain them, further increasing their happiness. That is one of the larger aspects to the game, making your Mii's happy as they live out their lives, but there is so much more as well, even if at first it is hard to see.

The rap battles are so insanely cheesy yet hilarious. There is a lot of that here.
The game starts out very slowly, much like an Animal Crossing title. It uses real time via the 3DS clock and calendar and each day, new events happen, new items are in stock in the stores, and many new things happen, giving you more and more incentive to check in each day. This is a game where the more you play it, the better it gets. At least, it did for me. The more you play, the more events that unfold, the more items are found and collected, and more relationships develop. Your Mii's can even get married and have a baby! As Mii's develop relationships, there can even be love triangles that happen and of course, you can help dictate these things, so it is not all out of your control. There is just so much to do and see and it is fun to see everything unfold and develop. The game is like making memories constantly and you can even take screenshots of either screen to save photos, as well as special photos you can make. For me, looking back on all that has happened in the past is part of the fun.
This game definitely is very strange a lot of the time. There are tons of conversations, dreams, news flashes, things that are very random and odd, but that adds to the game's charm. The game oozes in Nintendo charm, with delightful music, sound effects, and a simplistic visual flair, though the graphics are obviously nothing special here at all, but I suppose they don't have to be. There are some small moments where the weirdness does not quite hit it off like it should, but there are many times where this game has had me laughing, which is wonderful for a game that is more relaxing in nature. If you grow to like the game's weirdness like I have, you may find yourself laughing many times like I have.

One of the many really....odd dream sequences in the game.
The one major flaw that I have noticed, are the mini games. One of the other great aspects to this game are the collectibles, there are so many things to add to your treasury and it is a blast building up this collection over time. The way you earn these is through random mini games that your islanders might want to play at times. The problem is that most of these mini games are...kinda terrible. They are very simplistic but that is not why they are bad, most of them rely on luck and are very annoying. It is nice to have even more variety in the game, but I do think that they could have done better with the games given how well the rest of the game is made. The only other real thing that bothered me was how Nintendo did not allow any kind of same gender relationship other than friendships. Honestly, there was not much of a point to not allow this since you can dictate where relationships go. That might be a controversial topic to some, but not to me in the slightest and it would have been nice if Nintendo was a bit more progressive.
As a side note, the voice software in this game is hilariously great.
    Final Verdict:
Thank you for reading this week's Turbo Review! This game was a huge surprise for me and I love it. If you have the game, feel free to add my 3DS friend code, which is located on my profile.
    Until next time,
    Turbo out!
