  1. @@Ano170, Enid pulled away from him slightly, before turning around and - in a sudden burst of anger and strength - shoving him away before frantically beating him with her hooves. All she wanted to do was scream about how this was all his fault, but the only thing she could do was lash out. Tears still streaming down her face, she pelted him on the shoulders again and again, before grabbing him and practically curling up on him, burying herself in his coat as she held onto his forelegs.
  2. @@Ano170, Enid glared at him some more, her eyes practically piercing his own. She pointed to his wings, and then to the sky in the same direction as earlier, before turning her back on him to tend to her sister. She had stopped twitching, but she hadn't noticed when that had occurred - maybe the motion of being on Arrow's back had shaken some life into her and she had managed to get control of herself. Enid turned her head back to Arrow, to check if he was still there, before she lowered her ears to Myra's muzzle. When she heard no breathing however, things took a turn for the worse. It was as if a shadow had descended purely on Enid as she began frantically searching for signs of life, checking her pulse and her eyes, as well as her chest for any breathing, before finally resorting to fruitlessly hammering on her sister's lifeless body - initially from panic, turning quickly to frustration as her poundings became weaker and weaker, finally resulting in her collapsing over her, lifting her head with her forelegs as she made one final attempt to shake some life into her, before ultimately breaking down into a sobbing mess. Tears began streaming down her face in a more serious and much more genuine way than before, she was crying and shaking, occasionally thumping the dirt in frustration and confusion while she still clung to her sister. For the first time ever, she heard the faintest sound of what her own voice may have sounded like, an almost inaudible whimper crept from her mouth as she bubbled over into an almost total breakdown over her sister's corpse.
  3. @@Pripyat Pony, @@Ano170 Harmonic nodded once, spinning in place with enough speed to cause his cloak to raise up momentarily, revealing his blank flank as he took a step forward. He glanced at Cecy with a visible anger building in his eyes, before growling out "I'll be seeing to this patrol myself - if Celestia's soldiers are upon us, we'll stop them outside the city...give the troops some time to prepare." Despite the spell that had been placed on him, his soldiers intuition and sheer bloodlust still held strong, and he couldn't hide from his superiority complex by nature. "I'm going to arm up, gather my soldiers and meet me outside the gates, i'll stop them there." With that, he quickly disappeared into the palace, heading down to the armoury where his magic-weaved helmet and hookblades resided. Staring at them with a smile for a moment, he quickly armed and armoured himself, before making his way outside via the underground tunnels. _____ Enid glared up at Arrow, his suggestion to leave had clearly hit a nerve as she dragged Myra's almost lifeless body from his back with her magic, laying her out on the ground behind him. She turned back to face him again, before rearing up and pushing him with her front legs. Of course, all she really managed to do was slip on the dusty floor with her back legs, but she was determined to get him to move. She stopped pushing, sitting on the floor by Myra and biting her lip while shaking her head, pointing forward with her hoof in a clearly commanding way.
  4. (I'm a year behind, but I just finished playing Spec Ops: The Line. I see only a dark future ahead for my mental stability right now.) Gallant was leaning back in his chair still, watching the door as a few more patrons entered the inn. One, a stallion with a cyan mane and an almost deceptive attire, took a seat near the door, not too far from himself. Gallant passed a quick glance over in his direction, observing what he could about him in a short period of time without making himself obvious. His cutie mark was a treasure chest, just from that alone it was obvious he was to be interested in the expedition - he also seemed to wear his smile like he wore his clothing, a very...confident look about himself, if nothing else. The second to enter the inn was a naga. Gallant had been to all four corners of Equestria and back, and they where still a rare enough site, even for him. She took a seat at the bar and ordered a simple glass of water. He chuckled, knocking his own glass with his hoof as a sort of confirmation to himself that she was at least sensible. Still...that didn't mean he wouldn't have to watch his tongue where she was concerned, she could probably still kill him with a bite, nevermind the weapons she was carrying. @@Starshine, However, as he was caught with his attention on the naga, he was suddenly snapped back to attention by a voice calling his name. He shook his head and blinked rapidly a few times, bringing himself around as he leaned forwards in a formal manner. "Indeed I am" he replied with a single confirming nod of his head. "Glad t' hear it, and from the looks o' things you're not the only one who decided to show up tonight." He gestured to the two other arrivals with a nod of his head. "Make yerself comfortable, I'll be addressing everyone together in 'bout 'n hour or so - give everyone a chance to arrive." He leaned back again in his seat, glancing over at the door as another pony made his way into the inn. However, this pony wasn't strictly a pony at all, he was more of a bat-pony. Most likely one of Princess Luna's guards. He didn't look official, having no armour and no visible insignia, but it wasn't too far-fetched to imagine her majesty's guards to be let off duty every now and again, so ultimately he thought nothing of it. Soon after, another stallion made his way into the inn, but the way he looked around briefly before ordering wine from the bar immediately threw Gallant off, most likely just another traveller come to forget his woes...
  5. I'd like to formally retract what I said earlier about Spec Ops...once I adjusted to the game style, it's...it's actually alright. Now, please excuse me while I throw up for being a bad person ._.

  6. I would have done, but i've had a massive fuck off migrane all day, I just wanted to get the post out before I collapsed Thanks Flame
  7. I feel so bad right now, knowing where your profile picture is from just from that screencap. Goddammit me.

  8. Link to the OoC (Just to clarify, Gallant Pursuit is Ardent Discharge/Prayer. His name's been annoying me for a while and I finally got around to changing it) The blistering heat of the day was beginning to fade as the sun set on Equestria. Princess Luna had been raising the moon earlier and earlier over the recent weeks, but nopony knew why - not even her sister understood why she wanted the night set so early, but with an earlier sunrise as compromise, she wasn't concerned. Gallant Pursuit was sat across the street from the Mane and Tale Inn in a diner's open yard in Canterlot, enjoying what would presumably be his final proper meal for some time to come. "Judgin' by the sun...or lack thereof, i'd say it's time." He mumbled to himself before calling out to the diner's owner. "Bits're on the table, i'll leave it t'you to bring 'em in." "Sure thing, you gonna be back tomorrow? We have a special on the salad." "Not tomorrow i'm 'fraid. I'll be gone a while." "Ah well, good luck man, i'll save you somethin' for when you get back." He found it funny how he had been getting quite accustomed to the Inn over these past few weeks, being out and about exploring all the time, Gallant Pursuit didn’t really have a home – but the inn seemed to be becoming just that as of late. He had even learned the origins of the name - apparently it had been through a name change a while ago, deriving its new name from the amount of old and retired adventures that gathered there to share their stories. As he approached the counter, a hoarse voice called over to him; “The usual?” “Not today, I need to keep focused for tonight.” Gallant replied. “Going on another one of your crazy treasure hunts?” “Nah, not this time. I can’t say what, but it’s something important.” “Of course it is.” The barkeep said, with a disbelieving - almost sarcastic tone, as he slid a glass of water over the counter. Shooting a cocky smile, and taking the water in his mouth, Gallant nodded, and headed over to a table near the ale barrels in the corner of the room. "Some o' the fliers have been taken down...with some luck, we'll have a crew by tonight." He sat back in his chair in the corner of the room and lit a candle on the table, waiting for the others to arrive. "They know where to meet. They'll come." He attempted to reassure himself, not often being one to rely on others. (Your first post should be about your characters arriving at the inn. Obviously your characters will have taken the fliers, so they know where to be meeting up and when. Apparently I forgot to mention, the inn is in Canterlot)
  9. Yeah, we'll all be off together. If you want to find the original RP and read through a couple of posts there, the beginning is going to be similar to that. The posting thing is basically you post when you get chance and it's relevant. So...you post, someone replies to you, you reply to them, etc Okay everyone, the RP is now live, feel free to post away! Excuse the terrible quality of the first post... http://mlpforums.com/topic/72454-the-amulet-of-the-eventide-reboot-rp/
  10. It's alright I don't mind. As you can probably tell i'm not the greatest at answering these kind of things either, so I apologise for that. We'll all be following the same story, imagine Lord of the Rings, there's a group of people looking for an ancient amulet, and they'll all be going around together. Ardent Prayer is the expedition leader, and you'll all be meeting him at an inn before the journey begins, then you'll all set off on your merry way to retrieve the amulet.
  11. It's hard to say, RP's don't really follow a time. People can have entire conversations while others have only spoken two sentences to one another. Generally speaking though, your character would be doing whatever they where doing from your last post. (If you where talking to Lost Knowledge (Alex's character) for example, you would still be talking to him when you returned, unless something major had happened like the party being attacked or something, then you would post your reactions to the change when you come back)
  12. Of course it's not too late, I messaged you asking you to join - i'm hardly going to call you out on being late am I? Glad to see you're using the same character as before, I don't need to check it this time You're in...and...I think that's everyone? Also I would like to apologise for the possible feeling of trying to rush this RP out, it's not my intent to rush, but I don't like waiting I'll start typing out the first post shortly, as I said it'll be a pretty similar start to the first, so...yeah. Looks like we'll be using the combat system then, and I don't think i'll be adding anything to it, because it will just mean me asking you to put more stuff on the characters, and it'll delay the start and BLARGH. (Note, having said that, i'll like to say that there's a high chance i'll probably end up adding something that wont require you guys to add something too) I have no idea why I didn't reply to this...I saw it, had the reply in my head, and then just forgot to post it. Apologies! The RP will be pretty much post when you get chance, I think if we force an order into it's going to be awkward, some people might not be able to post as much as others, and just generally speaking, posting when you have something to say is usually the better approach. It's a pretty railroaded adventure type RP, we'll be following a general story and progressing along it, but in what way...well who knows what's gonna happen?
  13. God dammit Sweetie Belle -.- I'm not upset I find them to be really cute, and you're the only person on the entire forum i've ever seen use them, i'm just wondering where you find them all really. And thanks, i'll take that into consideration. I was going to add something not too different to your suggestion in, in the first place, but I didn't want it to be too make it too overly complex. I'll see if I can give a generic set of things...(I know what i'm talking about, don't worry)
  14. Seriously. @Starshine, IMAGES?! And yeah, I noticed that too, but I figured it was just my computer being dodgy... @@00Pony, Not like I can say no, is it? Haha, welcome aboard. I'll get the thread started sometime tomorrow (today, I guess) Sorry for the delay, i've not had an opportunity to sit and think yet, and tomorrow i'll be busy till about mid-afternoon. I might copy the original post from the first RP if I can't think of anything, the beginning will largely follow the same set up, anyway. Also, everyone? What's your take on the combat style? If I don't get any feedback, i'll just assume we're sticking to the older (albeit cleaned up) dice and coin system. I like that system...
  15. (Honestly, I haven't planned this, it's all just fallen nicely into place to get things moving before they grow stale) @@Pripyat Pony, @@Ano170, @@00Pony Cadence made her way outside swiftly, staring off into the distance in the direction of the bakery - or at least where part of it now remained. Sure enough there was smoke rising in the distance, but it didn't look like normal smoke - it was thin and almost dust-like. "Harmony get a squad down there ASAP, secure a march around the perimeter and outwards - I don't want anything else getting the drop on us...Cecy, I assume you'll be going with him as per your orders. Return to me when it is done, we need to have a chat with the military..." "Ma'am, if it is an assault from Canterlot, hadn't we best be at full force?" "We are at full force Harmony - Celestia has been foolish enough to strike where my influence reigns strongest." "No, ma'am - Sanguine and his assassins...surely if Celestia has come, she'll be well protected, and we need somepony who can get close to her...right?" "I see your point...I don't care how you do it - either of you - just get him back here as soon as you can!" _____ Enid continued to walk briskly away from the castle, darting down back alleys and keeping off the open streets. She knew the guard patrols and she was timing everything to avoid their routes. There was also the fact she had just torn a hole in the side of a building - hopefully that would serve as a distraction for a while, long enough for them to get clear. Eventually after finding a spot behind some houses in a dead-end corridor, she stopped dead, staring at the wall in front of them. In an instant, she spun around and clung to Myra, attempting to stifle her silent cries in her sisters coat, pulling her hooves frantically to try and wake her.
  16. @@Ano170, Enid sighed heavily in frustration as Arrow struggled to carry Myra, she was already at the end of the street and had had to make her way back down to him. She lifted herself up onto his back, pushing his head down as she pulled Myra's helmet off, followed by unclipping her armour and sliding it off with her levitation and placing it over her own as best she could - it restricted her own mobility thanks to the added weight and awkward positioning, but she didn't let it slow her down as she bounded off down the street quickly.
  17. So after many months of actually looking for the game, I finally managed to get my hands on a copy of Spec-Ops The Line. Never in my life have I been so disappointed with a videogame. Ever.

  18. @, Exceptions to non-pony OC's may be made if I know you, and I know your characters I've RP'ed with you on several occasions, and even Violet at least once, welcome back to the hunt.
  19. @, Your guy really likes bubbles, huh? I like him, you're in - as far as I know, I don't think there'll be any changelings in the RP, so you should be safe in that department. @, You're accepted, welcome aboard. And with that, i'm happy. I'll close off applications now, aside from the reserved spots, and then we'll get going in a couple of hours, if everyone's okay with that? Edit: I have to ask you all to take a look at the combat system again. It's a refined and much clearer set-up than the previous RP had, and I would very much like to use it. The idea is to have an MMO/RPG style environment, where you're walking down the street and then suddenly BAM a dragon. Wut? However, if there is an overwhelming amount of votes against using the combat system in place, we will switch to the honour system of combat, leaving you to your own devices without OP'ing your characters. If I could divert your attention here for a moment, it would be appreciate if you would read through a couple of posts before making a judgement on whether you would like to keep this combat system or not. As you can see, you will still be very much in control of your own characters, but the outcome of their actions will be posted by myself.
  20. @@Pripyat Pony, (That is...very true, I apologise) "I'll summon the guard...we'll fish out the traitors yet, ma'am." Harmonic snarled, glancing around the room "If you two both agree that is best, I won't argue. Now onto the next matter...Neighagra falls. Sanguine should be there by now, and I expect his troops have already begun making short work of -" "Princess Cadence, ma'am!" Cried a guard as he burst in through the heavy wooden doors, panting heavily "The Empire is under attack! The lower section of the city has been hit by some sort of magical energy from an unknown source, The bakery is...gone!" "W-what?" Cadence jumped up in her seat, taking to the skies momentarily before swooping down in front of the guard. "Where are the patrols? How did Celestia manage to get the drop on us? You incompetent fools!" She reared up and pushed the guard to the side before charging out of the doors. Harmonic briefly gave Cecy a look of assurance, followed by a slight grin as he began galloping out of the room to catch up with Cadence.
  21. I'm sorry! But that's why it's there, to ensure a thorough reading. Really? Huh...odd. I swear I didn't feel like I was copying the amulet idea until I just re-read the whole thing...weird. It'll be good to have you again if you do decide to join up. And you're in, thanks for coming back *Looks at your OC page, seeing I have brohoofed said character...* Well what do you know? You're accepted. As I said, you'll each be receiving a simple knife in the meeting at the start of the RP, you may do with that as you wish. I would prefer you keep your initial weapons as listed however, one melee and one ranged weapon for the sake of fairness. And as far as your medical skills go, knock yourself out - if you can pull it off, I don't see why not. Also, don't worry about the posting too much, as long as we get regular progress, I don't mind. I also just realised myself, I start college this friday (friday, seriously? I don't even attend on fridays!) and I have a semi-busy week from tomorrow, and in the next 2 weeks I wont even be here, i'll be house-sitting for relatives with no interwebs >.< With that, we're pretty much good to go, I think. I don't want another repeat of the last time, so i'll not be taking 9 other people. I think once Ano has applied (And I know she will...and I know with who, too) we should be set. Alex, would you prefer we waited for a finality on your end? Or would you prefer me to leave you an opening in the RP if we do start before you know for sure.
  22. Where do you find these images? Just make it sensible, don't go spamming OP spells off all the time, and if you simply cannot resist blasting something to oblivion for the lulz, try and make it believable. I remember your last OC used something not dissimilar to a meteor shower at one point...something like that is going to be a drain on one's own energy's, right? And with that you're accepted, even if only on account of how much you helped this RP the last time I butchered it
  23. So, here's the first RP I DM'ed on these forums, i'm pretty happy with how it went, and after getting much more RP experience under my belt, I figure I may as well give this another shot... Also, i'm pretty sure I started this RP initially before Season 3 aired... The Amulet of the Eventide. Very few ponies have heard the legend of the Amulet of the Eventide, and even fewer ponies know of its location. It has been locked away for hundreds of years by Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Why you ask? The Amulet has the potential to increase the magical ability of the user exponentially, to the point where they become too powerful and too corrupt for their own good. The last known encounter of the amulet before it was locked away was by the Alicorn who created it, as he rampaged uncontrollably through Equestria, unchallenged and unburdened by mortal thoughts. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna battled for hours to stop this chaotic rampage before it could spread any further. Eventually defeating the Alicorn, they locked the Amulet away far away from Equestria, in the icy heart of the tower of the Crystal Moon. In recent times however, there has been a dark whisper, rumours involving a plot to steal the Amulet and use its power to overthrow Canterlot. The source of these rumours is yet unknown, but Princess Luna has caught word and has sent her personal guards to retrieve the Amulet and bring it to Canterlot, so she can guarantee the safety of her subjects. It was not long before Princess Luna received word of her guards’ success in obtaining the amulet, however that was weeks ago and they have still not returned. This in mind, she has hired one of the most expensive and fearless adventurers in Equestria - Ardent Prayer - to find out what has happened to her guards and retrieve the Amulet, with the promise of a high standing stature within Canterlot and riches beyond imagining upon a successful return. This is where you come in. Realising just how dangerous this journey will prove to be, Ardent Prayer has left fliers around Ponyville and Canterlot, and even on the inside of trains leading to the other cities. Wherever you look, you will be within eye shot of a recruitment poster: Attention! Adventurers, Mercenaries and skilled Survivalists wanted! You are being called upon to embark upon an important expedition to retrieve something of great value. For the safety of the expedition and its crew, details will not be revealed here of the item in question, or of its importance. You are asked only to attend the meeting if you are willing to venture into lesser known lands across Equestria. The danger of this journey is not to be underestimated, there is no guarantee you will make it back alive, and as such you should only consider joining up for this if you feel you are among the best Equestria has to offer us. Applicants should attend one of the meetings at the "Mane and tale Inn" in Canterlot. Meetings being held every night at 18:00 until the expedition starts. Additional information about the RP: Hopefully this hasn't scared you all away, I understand seeing so many rules in one place can be daunting at best, but they're all there for a reason and to try and give you a clear understanding of how things should be played out. Without further ado, here's the application sheet if you would like to be considered: Name and character link: Species: Gender: Talent: Weapons: (Applicant time zone): Any additional information about your OC should be included here: Adventuring Party: @Agent505 as Gallant Pursuit @Starshine as Blitz Blaze @aRegularPony as Goldseek @SilverHeart as Silver Heart as Chivalry as Spellbound as Violet Strike @Ano170 as "The Captain" @00Pony as Aquila @Alex Kennedy as Lost Knowledge

  25. @@Ano170, Enid stamped a hoof on the ground, before yanking Myra's hoof and tugging her backwards with all her strength.
