So I've seen people complain about moderators before. Me, having experience in this particular field, wanted to clarify a few things about the moderation here and why you should not complain. So I decided to compile a list of reasons that people who complain about moderation are not in the right in doing so.

    #1: Moderators are not Paid
While on some sites they might be paid, on here, they are not. The moderators here use their own free time out of their own free will. So remember, you may be agitated by the things moderators do that you do not agree with, but you have to remember, they are doing this out of their own personal choice.

So they're pretty much moderating out of the goodness of their hearts, and people should appreciate the time and effort they put into it. Moderators don't absolutely have to moderate, if they wanted they could resign and let this place fall into Anarchy, and that would be fun for approximately nobody.

Pictured: A forum after all of the moderators went on break at the same time

#2: Moderators here are some of the most fair on the internet
The moderation here is some of the most efficient, yet somehow lenient moderation I have ever seen. This site's moderation is like a perfect equilibrium of moderation. Any less strict, the place turns into an absolute mess. Any more strict, this place turns into some kind of facist dictatorship. So if moderators here nail you for something you did, you probably deserved everything they did.You have to understand that every system we have in place on MLP Forums is in place for a reason. The character minimum may not seem like fun but it prevents this place from falling into absolute Chaos. If you actually respect the rules, you probably will not get into trouble.

Compared to other websites, these moderators are some of the nicest, goofiest, and most lenient around. I greatly respect all of them for the work they do. Other websites are much more strict, and this site gives you plenty of wiggle-room. in fact, I make extremely strange threads everyday with the consistency of abstract-art and I've never had a brush up with the moderators.

The moderators here are like angels, guys, except...they're not, and that brings me to my next point.

    #3: Moderators are just people
As much of a shock as this may to come to some people, moderators are just human like the rest of us. Now before you go into a rant in the comments about automated moderation, be aware that I've been on a site like that. Literally every user on the website was banned in a week. Now you should know that while the moderators are not perfect, they are still some of the best around.

They can't do EVERYTHING, and they should not have to do everything. Users should act responsibly and in accordance with the rules. If you simply follow the rules, then everything should be alright. If there is a misunderstanding, start a support ticket, and I'm sure you can settle it. The staff team here is incredibly understanding.

But the fact the moderators are human leads me to another point, do not send them hate mail. It is a mean, rude, hateful, and generally distasteful thing to do. If you have ever sent a moderator hate mail you should be completely and utterly ashamed of yourself. Not only does that show disrespect for the rules, but it shows utter disrespect for the people who spend their FREE TIME to make this place a nice and friendly atmosphere for people like yourself. It makes them feel bad, I'm sure. You have to remember, there is a real person behind every username.

And that real person has real feelings you can most definitely stir if you're a complete jackass. Do you really want to be this dick, and say 45% of moderators are leeches?

    I thought not.

#4: Moderators don't make the rules singlehandedly
Moderators do not necessarily create every rule they enforce. While generally they all agree with it as a whole. For this reason, there is not really a finger you can point at anyone in particular. Even if you could, these rules are necessary to keep this place friendly. I shouldn't have to say much about this, since anyone with common sense could piece this one together.

The moderators generally pool together and make decisions, and believe it or not, these decisions are overwhelmingly for the better of the forums as a whole. They may not be perfect, but if something goes wrong because of one of their decisions, they can always revise it later.
#5: Moderators like to have fun too
Contrary to popular belief, moderators do not take up the position merely with the intent of crushing the dreams of everyone they encounter. Rather, they most likely do it out of their love for the site. They like to have fun just as much as anyone of us. However, when enforcing the rules, they have to be impartial, they cannot make decisions based on how much they like somebody, that would be extremely inefficient.

Moderators may occasionally enjoy silliness too, so I doubt they enforce the rules for the express purpose of making little girls cry. These moderators are some of the goofiest mods I've ever seen and the funniest people I know. In addition to that, they do their jobs, and they do them well. The moderators here may not be perfect, but they're the finest moderators I've ever seen.

    Bless them.

    __________
Take these into consideration before complaining about the moderation team. If you really needed five reasons not to harass the moderators, you probably deserve what ever warning you to get anyway.
  2. Harmonic Revelations
You may recall a while ago I made a blog about my transgenderness. Well, I have continued that, and had a few updates I'd like to make.

First of all, I've chose a new name, I finally decided upon Ashley because I just think it's a bad ass name. It is, isn't it? Anyways, another update that has almost nothing to do with the subject at hand is that my Creepypasta ROM hack is almost done and you can expect at least a beta to be out by next week.

On another note, it should be pointed out that I've been gaining lots of free time. So I'll be very active, like a whole lot. So I'm going to be around, quite a lot.

    That's all for now.
  3. Harmonic Revelations
First off, I posted a kind of summary of this theory in the thread about the episode, but I decided to go into more detail. This is about the first half of the episode, specifically the spell.

I believe that Starswirl's spell was meant more as a lesson than an actual spell for practical use. I believe that the spell is meant to show that even through magic, you cannot truly change the destiny of somebody. This is supported by the fact that having the ponies do what they were meant to changes their cutie mark back. It could be a lesson about being yourself.

Let's take a look at the spell itself...

"From one to another, another to one. A mark of one's destiny singled out alone, fulfilled"

One thing that could be noted is that it says "A mark of one's destiny singled out alone", perhaps implying that one's destiny is unique, and that even though you can change what their perceived destiny is, you can not change what they are meant to do.

This could be about the real life situation some people face wherein they try to be something they are not in order to receive praise from your peers. It might mean that you can not change who you are, so you should be who you are best at being, yourself.

And that since they need each other, it is to show that your actions and duties affect many more than just yourself.

Alexander approached the lever, and with a simple yet firm tug, it pulled downwards. The lever at first appeared to do nothing, However, after waiting a few moments, the stone circle started to turn, and glow. The soldiers were speechless. The apparatus continued to glow bright until a loud crashing noise occurred and the entire inner part of the circle was lit up. On the other side, brightly colored green grass was there, it almost looked surreal.

The men just stood there and stared for a while.

The sergeant picked up his radio and talked,

"Foxtrot we have discovered what appears to be a portal. Everything we know about physics says that this is impossible."

    "This indeed changes everything."

The sergeant took a deep breath, and said

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained." He said.

He then did something no one was expecting, and signaled the other soldiers to follow him into the portal. The soldiers hesitantly followed the sergeant through the portal. Touching the portal gave them a surreal feeling, but the transition between worlds was seamless. However, as opposed to the bright skies they saw through the portal, they appeared to be in some kind of castle.

They saw two ponies wearing armor.

"What the!?" The ponies both yelled simultaneously.

Some of the soldiers made a run for it, jumping through the windows and onto the roof, where they sprinted for the nearest way out of the castle they could find. Alex however, was not a quick enough thinker, he was tackled and held down by these two ponies. He had no means to fight back, his gun was too hard to aim while being held to the ground and his knife was out of reach.

A larger pony entered the room, Alex could say it stood about a foot taller than him, followed by a darker colored one closer to Alex's height.

"What is this?" Celestia questioned, moving her face closer to inspect Alex.

"I should be asking the same question." Alex managed to say.

An audible gasp emitted from all the ponies in the room. They looked at Alex in amazement.

    "It talks?" Luna asked.

"It? I'd prefer he." Alex replied.

Both of the princesses looked at the soldiers and spoke.

"Keep him here, we're going to get the Elements." they said simultaneously before teleporting.

    In Twilight's library

"Twilight, what kind of tea did you say you wanted?" Spike asked.

    "Green, please." Twilight replied.

Spike nodded and headed to the kitchen so he could prepare Twilight's tea. She was planning to do some vigorous studying tonight. Spike was starting to make the tea, when a knock came on the door.

"Who could it be at this hour?" Spike asked, it was pretty late and almost everypony was asleep by this time. He approached the door and opened it. Outside stood Celestia and Luna.

"Spike, we need to talk to Twilight." Celestia said.

Spike only nodded, it wasn't his business what the princesses wanted, after all. He ran back to the room Twilight was in, and spoke to her.

"Twilight, the princesses are here and they want to see you." He said.

Twilight jolted up right at this and trotted to the door. He was slightly embarrassed and worried about Spike having left them outside. She would invite them inside for any reason at all. She approached the door, and sure enough, both her mentor and her mentor's younger sister were standing outside.

"Twilight, we need to talk." Celestia said.

    "About what?" She asked.

"About the ancient portal in the archives." Celestia said.

Twilight looked a bit stunned at this, she knew of the portal in the archives, it was one of Clover the Clever's artifacts he built in the days of old. What she also knew however was that as far as the princesses knew, it was a failure. Clover theorized that several universes may exist in a multiverse.

    "What happened?" Twilight asked.

"It's been activated." Luna said. She had a worried look on her face.

"And what's wrong with that?" Twilight said, she was actually excited about this. Such a magical artifact is very powerful and with Clover the Clever's reputation preceding him, she expected it to be something amazing.

"Well, something came through the portal." Celestia said.

"What? Really? Are you trying to say..." Twilight started to say before being interrupted by Luna.

"Yes, and it's alive. Well actually, there were several, but a few of them ran. The guards did manage to capture one. The strangest part is the fact that they appear to speak our language, the one we captured has a tag on what we assume is his clothing. It says 'Lance Corporal Alex Gray'."

Twilight looked extremely shocked. This was possibly the most exciting thing that she has been alive for, this almost rivals when she was accepted into Celestia's School for gifted Unicorns. She looked up at Celestia, Twilight knew what she was going to say before she said it.

"Gather your friends, we're going to the castle." Celestia said.

    Meanwhile, with Foxtrot 24...

"Sir, do you hear that?" one of the soldiers said, referring to his commanding officer.

    "Hear what?" He replied.

"That noise, it almost sounds like some kind of liquid moving, like a gurgling." He replied.

The soldiers looked around and readied their weapons. All at once, the doors along the corridor unlocked. Some kind of black liquid was seeping underneath the doors. It was slowly creeping towards the soldiers.

"What is this?" Phoenix said. Phoenix was the commanding officer, and not knowing what this was was bad news for the entire squad.

"Sir?" One of his soldiers called out to him.

    "Yes?" He said, turning around.

"Why is there two of you?" The soldier asked.

"What do you mean, two of me?" He said, almost to answer his question, a tap on his shoulder came, and he turned around to see....himself.

"What the..." Phoenix said, before being punched in the face by this apparent doppleganger. Every detail was the same, right up the suit, the only thing missing was the rifle.

"I'll be taking that." The clone said, before stepping on Phoenix's neck and taking the rifle. The soldiers nearby started firing at the identical twin now standing over their commander. As the bullets hit the clone, black liquid shot out him. They kept firing until he hit the ground.

Some of the black liquid on the ground formed into another heap, and it started to form into another clone of Phoenix.

This is my guide to posting on the forums. I know that some of you cringed at the thought of some people taking my advice on posting on the forums, don't worry about it, take some anteacid and just relax. It's just for people who want a little advice on how to post, in an easy numbered list for easy viewing. I'm not plotting to destroy anyone at the moment, so you are safe.

If you follow this simple guide you to can both be a reputable and valuable member of the forums while simultaneously decreasing the work load of the moderators.

    #1: Respect your fellow forumites
This is one that a lot of people need to take to heart. The problem with not doing this is not as prevalent on this forum as it is on others I've seen, but the problem still emerges from time to time, so I'm going to talk about it.

You know how it happens, you're reading through a thread and someone may say something a bit unusual and then someone comes and drills them about it. There is a fine line between correcting someone and being a complete dick, and it's a line that you need to understand before you post in any debate. The line is respect, if you do not understand what respect means to me, or how to spell respect, then you have no childhood.

    But you know what's an even worse and more despicable? Drilling someone for a harmless opinion. I've seen it happen, someone gingerly posts in a thread and within an hour the entire thread is a war zone. I can understand being a bit upset if someone says something that's a bit offensive, but you have to remember, it's no better to point them out on it. It's best to report them for abusive behavior, because chances are if it offends you, one of a few things are true;

A.) Other People are offended to (Report them)

B.) You're overreacting or misunderstanding the post (Make sure you understand what you're reading before calling judgement)

Because of B, many times people who get offended by an opinion are at no fault but their own for their anger or sadness.

Remember when posting that there are very real people behind every username here, and that they too have lives and feelings.

    #2: Don't Derail Threads
Absolutely one of the easiest offenses you can make, making a pointless or off-topic post that ends up derailing a thread. Not only is doing that disrespectful to the OP, but it's not going to do anything but make you look like a fool. Making a joke is okay, if it's relevant. But do not go into a thread about the meat industry and start spurting jokes about rocket controlled flying potted plants. If you have something you need to say to someone, and it has nothing to do with the thread, I can help you out with a simple link.

    Send them a PM:
    http://mlpforums.com/index.php?app=members&module=messaging&section=send&do=form

If it's something that doesn't need to be said to anyone in particular, and may be a bit silly/doesn't fit anywhere else, feel free to use the forum lounge:

    http://mlpforums.com/forum/46-forum-lounge/

At the very least, try to remember that the OP made whatever thread they did for a reason, and you'd be doing the entire community a disservice by trying to derail the discussion.

#3:Don't make posts that tell people to brohoof

This is going to be a short description since it's fairly simple, and it's a mistake I see a bunch of new posters making. Do not tell people to brohoof your posts, not only does it make you look desperate but I for one NEVER brohoof a post that says to, even if I would have if it did not have that bit of request at the end. And chances are, believe it or not, if you have to retroactively tell people to like your post it's probably not a very good post to begin with. People will brohoof a post if they like it, it doesn't need some kind of prompt to do it.

#4:Don't discredit other people/news for no reason

You know what I'm talking about. In a thread about good news, there is a guy who will say how it could have been better or how it's part of some secret conspiracy to replace us all with clones of Tom Hanks.
While they may or may not be right, they are just being jerks by doing that, unless they word it a very specific way. Because unless you think about what you're typing, you could sound to be insulting a person or group that has legitimately done a good deed.

And as you all know, receiving criticism for saving puppies from a burning building does not make the recipient of said criticism feel good. It also makes you look like an insensitive prick, especially if the person posting the criticism has never done such a deed themselves.

Someone does not deserve criticism for donating to the rebuilding of an orphanage, and for some reason, some people seem to find that surprising, or at least their posting history implies such surprise.

    #5:Don't preach doom
This is the one that happens all the time on these forums, and you know what I'm talking about. Twilicorn caused this on a biblical level; if you're not familiar with such things, a doom sayer's post most likely reads like some variation of this:

"Guys, we have just received news that a minor plot arc is taking effect. One that nobody knows anything about except the basic outline. We all know what this means, the end of the fandom. Guys, I'm sorry about this, but I'm going to have to leave because I am a drama queen/Attention-seeker"

At least, that is how I read such posts. I'm sure a lot of you read them the same way. You know why? Because most of the time, these people are attention-seekers or just being dramatic for the sake of it.
You know what the best way to deal with changes to the show is? Wait until they happen to pass judgement.

It's the equivalent of if Game Informer had released a review of Halo 4 saying it was the worst game ever made four months before it's release. There's no way such predictions can be accurate.

#6:Use proper grammar and spelling (To the best of your ability)

This is not asking you to be Einstein and be a super genius master of the English language, but please, when you post, leave your text-speak at the door and put on your proper English. You do not need to post immaculate strings of text that rival the works of Shakespear, you need to type on such a level that people know what you're saying.

The average violator of this makes posts that read something like this:

"OMG Guaze u no dat 4 3 yers i wuz eh enngrish teechair butt i god shott oouwt de w1nd0ww width eh bulldozer becuze mi classe cud knot stend me"

I know that if English is not your first language, it can be tough, but please, if your post is so bad that when you run it through spell check it looks like the red tide because of all the red wavy lines, then please, do not post it. I'm almost one hundred percent sure that if you take your time posting you can do better. If you can't do better, improve your English before posting.

#7:Do not be raunchy, disgusting, or vulgar
This is one that very specific users are responsible for. I won't name names because I'm a nice person, but I'm just going to describe it.

This has become increasingly prevalent in Forum Lounge and I'm sure the mods do not appreciate it. We do not need graphic descriptions (Or worse, PICTURES) of sex or extreme violence. We do not want extreme detail in your text about sexual encounters. Leave that outside the forum. Usually, sexual innuendo is okay, maybe even a joke about it here or there, but not anything extreme, and do not target a specific user.

It can be okay to make mature jokes, but do not dedicate a thread to things that are best left elsewhere. I AM going to point out a particular group that's responsible for this, the #Yiff group. Please, for the love of God, leave that shit at the door, or take it to furaffinity. Nobody wants to hear about your fetishes on this site, and even if they did, discussing it off-site is the best course of action. The reason of course I pointed out #Yiff is that's a blatant offender of this. Mainly because such topics can be ideologically offensive to a large number of people.

I'm not targeting it because I'm against the people in such groups, but the thing is, that does not belong here, on this site. There is a good reason why making NSFW posts earns you at least 800 warning points. If you cannot stop making vulgar posts, this probably isn't the best place for you.

  6. Harmonic Revelations
(The dream enclosed in this is not a prophecy, I don't think this will or can ever happen)

Last night, I had what I can only say is the best dream ever, and it was really vivid, so I'm going go try to describe it. It was a very epic dream (In that it felt long and had a lot of events). I've heard that these can be once in a life time dreams and it was really vivid and weird and a few of you members were in it. So yeah, I just thought i'd post a blog about it, especially since I don't usually remember my dreams so well.

Below the line there are the events that transpired in the dream. It should be noted that in my dream, everyone referred to themselves by their usernames. I assume this is because I do not know what some of your real names are. For some reason everyone had a floating nametag with "L" and a number I can only assume was their level next to it.

    ______________________________________-
I was in my bed and I sat up. Floating above me was the disembodied head of Gandalf. He spoke to me, and said

"In order to save MLP Forums, you must collect the shards of the internet stone."

And then I was all like "Okay".

So I ran outside to save you all and that's when I saw a Pelican parked in my garage which I was sure was not there before. (Here's a picture of a Pelican from Halo, in case you don't know what one looks like)

So I climbed into the pilot seat and took off. I continued flying and eventually I saw a large glowing light and I assumed one of the pieces must be there. I then landed, and got out. For some reason, Marco ~ Ace Attorney was there and he had a sword. He told me,

"Harmonic, you're an asshole, but you're going to need this." and he handed me the sword. And then I ran inside the building and fought a giant raptor. And then I ended up defeating it, wherein beams of light shot out of it and it exploded. Then a shard of gem came out and I picked it up. Suddenly several users appeared around me, and said that they had been freed.

I then went back to the Pelican and saw that it had been stolen by Marco so I instead rode a black bicycle with neon blue stripes with a mounted machine gun. I drove around fighting jackals.

Then I finally reached my destination, another glowing beacon. Outside was Key Gear who told me some very useful and cryptic advice, namely "In order to kill the giant squid, shoot it in the eye" before Key Gear then handed me a harpoon. I walked inside and saw a giant squid, pondering for a few moments, I decided to shoot it in the eye with the harpoon, whereupon a shard flew out of it and it died. I grabbed the shard and combined it with the other shard and then some more users appeared.

I then ran outside and saw that it was raining, but what was more troubling, helicopters with the letters "P.E.T.A." on them were now firing at me. I then saw Marco had come back with the Pelican he stole and decided to fight the helicopters by shooting at them. Once he had defeated them, he gave me my pelican back. I got inside and flew again, then I saw another beacon, when I landed, I saw Evilshy was standing there. Evilshy looked at me and spoke "Harmonic, you must take this, and kick some ass" he then handed me an AK5, which I knew was the standard Assault rifle in Sweden.

He then nodded and walked off, so I walked inside the building. Inside I saw the owner of P.E.T.A. We had an epic battle and it involved a lot of explosions from flaming bottles they were throwing at me. After I defeated them, another shard came out. This appeared to complete the orb by about 3/4. I knew there was one more piece. When it was joined together the rest of the staff appeared, including Chigens, who I then kissed. However, Chaotic Discord had bad news, I still had to find the last shard, and free Feld0. He said that he wished he could help more but he couldn't.

Then I hugged Chigens and said "I'll be back soon" and I went and got back in my Pelican. I flew to a giant tower in the center of the ocean, the letters "HASBRO HQ" were written on the side. I knew this would be my final battle, I landed on a platform and ran inside to face the most evil of all. I saw Hasbro's legal team, they all spoke in a demonic way. They said,

"Harmonic, your signature has copyrighted material in it, I'm afraid we're going to have to destroy you."

    I then said:

"No way, the future belongs to the people who love and tolerate, not to those who only care about profit." They then laughed.

They started throwing flaming C&D forms at me while I fired my weapon, instead of blood, dollar bills flew out of them when I shot at them. I did a front flip to dodge some of the projectiles. I eventually killed them, where beams of light shot out of them and they said:

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" they then exploded, leaving behind a final piece of the shard, I took it and combined it, the orb glowed, and Feld0 appeared in a wave of magic. He was glowing and his level had the infinity sign next to it.

He looked at me, smiled, and said:

"Harmonic, you have saved us all, here, take this"

and he gave me a jewel encrusted sword with a gold handle and silver blade. I sheathed it on my back and ran outside, where everyone was all happy, and all of the members were gathered around the tower. Chigens ran up to me and kissed me and said "YOU DID IT!" and Marco was there too and he said "Still not as good as I could have done."

    Then I woke up.

This is from a thread I made today, but I liked the planet enough that I'm writing a story about it, and decided that due to the quality of writing I should stick this in my blog and encourage you all to read it.

Planet name: Gelus (Latin, it means frost, coldness, cold, chill, ice, chillness)

Description: Has a very cold temperature all year, the temperatures range from -50 Farenheit to around -350 Farenheit. Huge towering statues of ice appear around the planet that look like stalagmites except on the planet's surface. The planet's surface is inhospitable, which is why all life that lives here lives in caverns where warmth is supplied by the magma that bubbles up from the relatively unstable core of the planet. The walls of these caverns are covered in vines and other plants that are used for food, even underground forests exist here. There are hollow and thin tubes in the walls of the caves caused by small serpent like creatures that slither around inside. The planet's year lasts around 758 Earth days due to the distance from it's sun, it's day lasts about 32 Earth hours. It is home to two sentient species, the Mors Dator (Death Giver) and Maculosos Nix Canem (Spotted Snow Dog). Half of the year, the planet's temperature remains below -200 Farenheit, the other half it remains above it, in a sort of two seasons, the smaller creatures are usually only active in the second part of the year.

Species that lives here: Gelu Custos (Latin: Ice Warden)

Description: Like all life that thrives on Gelus, the Gelu Custos, or Ice Wardens, live underground. They have hands that end in tentacles because when they sleep they grab onto slactites and sleep hanging from the ceiling of the caverns, this saves them from any possibility of magma boiling up from below them. They are omnivores and eat both plants that grow on the walls and small rodent-like creatures that thrive in the caves off of the seeds of plants. They are naturally passive but will attack if provoked, such as by stepping on their spore-pods or attacking them directly. They are about six and a half feet tall on average. The pincers on their head are used to grab onto pray that tries to escape, bringing the pray closer to their mouth, that is divided into three sections.

Species name: Spelunca Parasitus (Latin: Cave Parasite)

Description: Lives in the caverns of the planet, they tunnel through the walls and eat creatures that are hibernating and smaller than it is. They are relatively slimy. Once they reach a certain age, they attach to any creature large enough to be in their way. This is where the "parasite" part of their name kicks in. Due to their small size (About two inches each) an entire swarm will usually attach to a single creature and suck them dry of nutrients, then they will move on to the next creature. The Ice Wardens are usually the creatures who end up getting attached to.

Species Name: Mors Dator* (Death Giver)

Description: A ruthless sentient species, ever since they have had the technology to do so they have been completely covered in full-body suits that heat them and allow them to survive on the surface. Due to their ability to use these suits, they are the only species on the planet who can survive on the surface, however, they still get their food from the caverns. They form expansive hive-like cities on the surface. They are bipedal and the name Death Giver comes from their hostility towards practically everything. They are bipedal and sport three fingers plus a thumb. One has never been seen without their suit on. They are about seven feet tall on average and have three eyes, which is apparent from the three red visors visible on their helmets. They are omnivores, by nature they are hunters and they often gather plants from the caverns as well. They form complex languages and have written as well as spoken means of communication.

They often enslave creatures that they fight against. For example, they often use Spotted Snow Dogs as hounds when searching for food deep in the caverns.

Species name: Benevolens Cimex (Helpful Bug)

Description: Their name comes from the fact that they heat up the areas of the cavern they inhabit, making it more comfortable for the life there. They sustain themselves by eating the seeds of vines native to the deeper parts of the caverns. These creatures live all of the walls and their primary predators are Speculna Parisitus. They are known to live in packs of several hundred thousand.
Each one is only about half an inch long. Their queen is about five inches long. They live in a hive of sorts that is burrowed into the walls of the cavern but they are often on the ceiling of the main part of the cave.

  8. Harmonic Revelations
Me, being a fan of Pokemon when I was younger, have disliked the series ever since Gen 3. I was a fan of the first and second seasons of the Anime, but that's besides the point, I'm reviewing Black and White.

First thing I noticed when playing it is that the EXP bar does not slide up when you get experience, and it does not stand out from the background. Every Pokemon you can choose either looks stupid or like it belongs in an 80s gangster film starring Disney Cartoon animals (I'm talking to you, Snivvy), or let's not forget the water one that looks depressed.

I could not stand playing this one for very long, it's nothing like the best generation, Gen 2 (Silver is my favorite Pokemon game) and I couldn't play it for very long. I did take a look at the other Pokemon from Black and White and I can honestly say that they look incredibly stupid and generic. What ever happened to the days Pokemon was good?

To see the later parts of the game, I had my older brother play it all the way through while I watched.

Just like everything Gen 3 and beyond, the villains were corny and not at all intimidating. They are just embarrassing.

For being a game that was Pokemon AND boring enough to lose my attention, they must have worked pretty hard at making it bad. The only thing that's even good about it is that it symbolically paints PETA as villains, and since I agree that PETA are villains, it has my respect.

Since I've been told that the online play is pretty good, I'll give it two more points, because I don't do online play since I played it on an emulator.

    Final score: 4/10
  9. Harmonic Revelations
Today I'm going to talk about the U.S. educational system, and if I get extremely lucky or the feds mess up I might even not go missing tomorrow for insulting the government's way of operating!

First, let's start with the obvious, I'd just like to point out that as far as High School goes, and other law required schooling goes, it doesn't work. Kids don't take learning seriously, I'd know, believe it or not, I was once a kid in High school too, and it was only, give or take, a year or so ago that I actually graduated.
Kids generally don't care all too much about their education. This wasn't a problem, back in the good old days, when school actually required effort.

It turns out now, though, that instead of placing the blame on a failing kid on the kid themselves, the blame is placed on the teachers. Not only this, but the whole "core assessment" thing they added for each state is kind of pointless, it wastes most of the kids' schooling careers preparing for tests that do absolutely nothing for them. Back in the day the blame was on the kid, if they passed, they passed, if they failed, they failed. Yet somehow, even though the scores needed to pass are getting higher, so is the average score for the same quality of work, so it narrows itself out.

Because clearly, I cannot see how rigging the school system in the favor of lazy kids can ever come back to haunt us.

I am very sure that this has a lot to do with the US being so far behind in education compared to many other nations. So making failing kids more likely to go into colleges, where it's also becoming easier to pass (But a whole lot more expensive) and then them getting jobs is absolutely the best way to make the US look good.

It's like stamping the FDA seal of approval on garbage to make it look like the US has varied tastes.

Also, it's not really that we're lowering our standards, in a way, our standards have always been low. As has been said in the comments, arts and such are always the first to go with budget cuts. Which is funny, because in the most education oriented civilizations in the world like Rome and Greece, art was always a really big deal.

They don't want the US kids to be educated. They want them to be adequate sheep. They want you be smart enough to "Push this button" but don't want you to be intellectual enough to ask "why?".
  10. Harmonic Revelations
I'm going to be writing a painfully cynical, sarcastic, and hopefully, funny new series where I talk about random things that exist in either real life, the internet, or some other plain of existence such as the human mind.

If you want to put it simply, I'll be reviewing aspects of everything in a series. A combination of my real opinion with unholy amounts of cynicism, clustering it all together until eventually it's something worth reading.
  11. Harmonic Revelations
You may or may not have noticed the generally melancholy theme of my recent posts. Supposing that since you are a great community, I owe you an explanation, so here I am, offering an explanation as well as what-have-you.

Recently, I've been falling further and further into depression, my life has become repetitive and uneventful. If I have one thing that stops me from ending it it's probably you guys, just to get that out there. Anyways, that comes to another thing.

It seems that recently, I've been placing my anger and hatred where it does not belong, which is here. I apoligize for that. The more I do it, the more I hate myself for it. I've been an atrocious asshat about absolutely anything and everything and I want to thank you for putting up with me.

Yeah I guess that's about it.
  12. Harmonic Revelations
Yes, I know the title is long, but that's okay, because it's just okay. Alright?

So I decided I'd take the liberty to rant about my opinions on certain things about the fandom, and more specifically, I'm going to talk about some things on the site too. Yeah, there will be some lists, probably numbered. I'll try to organize, and fail badly at it. Mostly because I've been extremely tired for the past few days, and moody, and no matter how much sleep I get it's only getting worse.

    So yeah, there's that.

So I'm going to try to post some stuff, it may or may not make sense, it all depends.

Members I consider to be like family (May not be a mutual feeling, idk)

Some members here are are so awesome, that I feel like they're family. This is partially got to do with how loyal I am to my friends and partially because most of my actual family is dead/doesn't want to talk to me.

(Chigens and Kay isn't on this list, because I'm actually dating them, so depending on your views on dating, you could consider them my actual family.)

So let's list, don't feel bad if you're not on it, I probably just forgot you, because you know, I'm extremely tired.

-Firebolt: Really great girl, she's done a ton of nice things for me and I couldn't be more grateful if I tried. Love ya Firebolt.

-~Chaotic Lightning~: Is fun to talk to and easy to share my thoughts with. He's really great, and we have a lot in common.

-LeatherBehlt: Leatherbelt is just amazing, especially on the streams. Not only that but he's pretty funny.

    ____________________________________
Yeah that list was short, I know, right now my attention span is really short. I really do feel horrible right now, not sure why.

So now that I've talked about that, let's talk about something else. Something very obscure, and something very important to talk about, because sometimes it happens on this very forum. (Not as much as in other fandom websites, so I'm probably going to stick to those)

    Censorship.

I know, your first response was probably something like,

    *gasp*

    As it should be.

This has not happened to me, persay, but I've seen it occur with other members. Perfectly responsible, normal members, posting their thoughts, and getting their posts deleted. You may be asking,

"Harmonic, they broke the rules, didn't they?"

And surprising as it may be, the answer is usually no.

Unless you consider disagreeing with a moderator the violation of a rule, that is. In which case, yes, they have broken the rules. I'm not going to go into any specifics about instances on this site, mostly for the safety and privacy of all parties involved in said incident.

But yeah, I'm going to get on with it, now.

This mostly happens on Bronynet, recently, an incident there involved a moderator deleting many posts and it resulted in a lot of name calling and eventually that moderator was removed from the site indefinitely. Normally the problem would be over, but this is not the first time such an incident has occurred.

Another place this happens is Newgrounds, although to be fair, on that site it isn't dedicated to the fandom, but what I'm getting at is that the fandom is often suppressed there by anti-brony moderators. Are these moderators bad people?

No, the prime example is one of the best people I know, kind hearted, and charitable.

This brings me to the next thing I'm going to talk about...

    Haters

However, I'd like to promptly explain an uncomfortable truth.

Inside the very fandom, there are some pretty bad people who make it a habit of being annoying and misinformed, fitting directly into the stereotypes about us like it was some kind of destiny jig-saw puzzle, and that creates a lot of hate for us.

I'm going to swallow my pride and say this flat out. Some of the hatred we get is deserved. You have to look no farther than people who try to "convert" anti-bronies. Seriously, that's like going to Burger King and getting spammed in your mail that McDonalds is better until you actually go there.

    It's annoying, and more importantly, of course;

    nobody wants that.

    _____
I'm going to update this as I think of more things to complain about to the possible three people who might actually take the time to read this entire thing.
  13. Harmonic Revelations
Time for episode two of HRUA. I'll be talking about a user I like quite a bit, ~Chaotic Lightning~! A fellow Rainbow Dash fan, and a Luna fan too, but I'll get over that because Lightning is just so awesome. So let's begin talking about how awesome they are.

~Chaotic Lightning~, like myself, is a gamer. That's really cool and a fun thing to do.

For one thing, I love the quote on his profile, it's inspirational, really.

'' Being the Best in the World is a lifestyle.'' ™

It may sound silly, but I think that's a good mantra to live by. After all, if you're not trying to be the best every day, then eventually you will fall behind.

Also, apparantly, I'm his favorite user, that's incredibly sweet of him! Also, he shares the same favorite villain (My favorite villain is Discord, but my favorite antagonist is Trixie). His favorite wonderbolt is spitfire, that's cool too!

And his favorite pony is Rainbow Dash, with his favorite Mane six being Applejack (I presume he minds besides RD). I also like the way that they are both in his icon (He has an amazing icon)! Much like myself, he claims to be the best in the world. Even if he isn't, he sure ranks pretty high on the list of best people, because he appears to be made of pure amazing.

Seriously, if you haven't had the opportunity to talk to him in a PM or something, you really need to. He is fun to talk to!
  14. Harmonic Revelations
Since this is edition 1 of this series, I found it appropriate to include a description of what exactly HRUA is.
HRUA is my attempt to showcase just how amazing our community is. I hope to do one for every single member I know a bit about, so as I talk to more users, expect more editions to come out.

Also, if it's about you expect me to post something on your wall with a link to the article.

    HRUA #1 : Firebolt

Hello, today, I'm going to be talking about why Firebolt is awesome. I'm going to try to cover every user eventually so I can generally rant about how amazing of a community we have going here, but I'll start with someone I know a lot about. Well, at least, a lot compared to what I know about other users.

Let's start with the obvious. Firebolt is great, she really is. Not only is she an amazing artist (If you haven't checked out her art I HIGHLY recommend it, you will eyegasm.) , but she is also a very nice user and pretty funny if you ask me. She's made some nice threads, and her posts are always a pleasure to read. She is very insightful and the fact her opinions are often in sync with mine doesn't hurt either.

Now let's talk about other things, like why I like her in particular. First off, the fact she is drawing my OC is amazing, and I thank her a million times (Did I already say she is an amazing artist? Well, if you still haven't checked out her art, you need to. Your life is not complete until you have,). Also, she's really nice to me. Not only that, but she has affected me to the extent that my favorite mane six has changed because of her opinion. I highly trust her, even if we don't really talk all that much.

Also, she is the great artist who made the banner for my interview series. I cannot express enough gratitude for that, Firebolt. I admire your generosity. Did I mention that her OC Firebolt is my favorite OC out of all? Not only is she well-designed, but her personality is great.

Her OC is just beautiful, actually, all of her OCs are, but still, it's no wonder that people want to draw a character with such amazing design. I think the personality of her OC can only be matched by the personality of the person who designed it.

    Firebolt is amazing.
    ________________________________________
Tune in next time where I talk about someone else I know or at least think I know.
  15. Harmonic Revelations
I was reading my more recent posts, and something occurred to me. Something that I generally would not miss with my infinite wisdom., Am I becoming too much of a jerk? I mean, yeah, I'm sarcastic, and cynical, always.

But I have the feeling that some people just that don't get that kind of writing, and might genuinely get offended by it. Not to name names, ~Another Chaotic Username~, but I seem to make some people angry with the way I post.

What should I do? I don't want to make my posting habits into an issue.
  16. Harmonic Revelations
So I am pretty sure I just saw a ghost. I am not at all happy about it, in fact, I am pretty damn scared right now. So I was taking a shower, and my (pretty heavy) box of soaps, shampoos, and other accesories, literally flew across the room (My bathroom is pretty big). So, naturally, I ran out of there, and have not been in there since.

    What should I do?
  17. Harmonic Revelations
I have finally found a solution to Twilicorn. One that pleases both fans of the concept and non-fans of the concept of Twilicorn. So we take a machine that splits her into two ponies. One is a Pegasus Twilight, and the other is a Unicorn Twilight. Unicorn Twilight goes back to Ponyville to stay with the Mane six and Pegasus Twilight will stay in Canterlot!

The Unicorn will have the cynicism filled sarcasm and adorkableness we know and love, while the Pegasus will have the leadership qualities and sense of responsibility! And Spike will have nothing, because Spike is not a good main character.

Either I'm incredibly creative or criminally insane, can't tell which.
  18. Harmonic Revelations
Everybody has been doing one of these. So I took a gulp of air and said to myself "Let's do this!". I figuratively commanded the very world to cease and allow me to thoughtfully commentate on the entire season. So I did just that, and it's right here, in it's entirety. I have a general review summary plus a by-episode version for you picky readers.

So, let's get right to it, I suppose i'll start with the by-episode version, for convenience on both my part and yours, so bear with me and just deal with my less-than-adequate and possibly sarcastic and cynical commentary begin! I may eventually back track and review seasons 1 and 2 as well, so stay tuned!

    Episodes 1 + 2: The Crystal Empire Parts 1 and 2

This episode had a lot to offer. I suppose for starters, I can always say that a new villain is good. Right from the get-go we are promised an amazing. Which is great, right? It should be. The Failure Success song sums up these episodes, because it's a half good and half not good type of thing. These episodes delivered in the field of comedy, I did laugh quite a few times. What it did not accomplish was drama. It tried to take itself seriously, but it ended up forfeiting all of it's seriousness.

I suppose Sombra was an okay idea for a villain. A good idea. In some ways, that idea never even reached fruition, since he has such short screen time that you might assume he was just a cameo as opposed to what the episodes were about. He was disappointing, to say the least of it. I was expecting something amazing, I got way less than I thought I would from that ending. And Cadence didn't help the seriousness factor either with her epic TOSS.

    Overall Rating: 6/10

Episode 3: Too Many Pinkie Pies

Yay, a Pinkie Pie episode. That wasn't a sarcastic yay either, I believe Pinkie Pie episodes are underdone, so it goes without saying I was excited for this one. So, I sat back and watched it. First thing I noticed was that the set up made it believable and a relatable problem, not being able to be with all of your friends at once. It's a problem that most of us go through at least once. So they took a non-believable approach to a believable problem, not something that common, but not something bad either.

I also found the rhyme that Pinkie Pie remembers that told her about the reflection pool to be cute, to say the least about it. Also, am I the only one who was impressed by the lighting effects that were used in the cave with the pool itself? I think this episode clearly shows some of the improvement between the first season and third season, demonstrating the improvements in animation style. I don't really have much more to say about this episode, it was funny, but it's plot wasn't in depth enough to form a valid evaluation of the story. What I'm saying is that it was a simple episode.

    Overall Score: 8.5/10

    Episode 4: One Bad Apple

I didn't enjoy this one too terribly much. I don't know what it was about it that made me so annoyed. I guess the whole bullying thing was a bit of a personal subject for me, since I grew up as a kind of outcast in my own right. So I guess that has something to do with my dislike of it, since it portrays bullies in a positive light (At least in my view). I also find Bab's accent annoying, I've never liked New York Accents.

The other thing I disliked about it was that it's songs weren't very good. Bad Seed was probably my least favorite song out of Season 3, and there are reasons for that. I guess the one redeemable thing about this is that it gave the Cutie Mark Crusaders more screen time, something they could always use.

    It was a meh episode.

    Overall score: 5/10

    Episode 5: Magic Duel

When I first heard about this episode I was like "A Trixie episode? Man the hatches, Firebolt is going to be happy about this!" and well, would you look at that. It played out like I expected it to, it was a fun episode more than anything. It dealt with serious issues and did seem geared more towards the brony community considering the negative themes it dealt with. I liked it, because personally, I like Trixie. She is a good character that I can relate to.

If I had do name something I did not like about this episode, it would be that I dislike Snips and Snails because generally they are annoying characters.

    Overall Score: 8/10

(I'm skipping to the finale, mostly because I don't have much to say about the other episodes. I liked Keep Calm and Flutter on, but I don't have much to say about episodes other than the Finale)

    Episode 13: Magical Mystery Cure
This episode was either just another episode, a bad idea on Hasbro's part, or the beginning of the end times, it all depended on who you were talking to about it. However, when it was released, you either loved it, liked it, disliked it and sucked it up, or turned into Chris Crocker and went completely apeshit about it. Either way, I liked the episode. In fact, it was my FAVORITE episode of this season.

Where to start when talking about this amazing episode? How about the fact that the BEST pony got a song. If you don't know who I think the best pony is, you're either apathetic about it, reading the wrong blog, or horribly, horribly drunk. Either way, she did get one, and a rather great one at that. She was like LALALLALALALALALA and I was like LALALALALA right along with her. That happened, yes, I was like LALALLALALALA for the entire song and it was amazing.

Also, the 3D effects were quite amazing! I especially was impressed by the scene with Twilight at the window. It was impressive! Also, I laughed a lot of times through the episode. This episode succeeded where The Crystal Empire failed, in that this episode managed to be both funny and dramatic.

Twilicorn was a good thing, I like how she looks, and I like the entire aspect of it. I don't get why people are in such a panic over it, calm down.

    Overall Score: 10/10

    GENERAL OVERVIEW TIME!!!
Alright, so if there are some points I'd like to make about Season 3, it would be these:
Spike episodes are a BIG no-no
Spike EPISODES ARE A VERY BIG NO!
Applejack is no longer a background pony
Best Pony got a song (WOOHOO, Celestia FTW)
    I like Peanut Butter

So yeah, Season 3 was okay, I guess everything but the Spike episodes were amazing.

So I decided to further delve into the specifics of the cartridge. Actually, more specifically, I ported it to a ROM to see what kind of abnormalities would translate from the cartridge to an emulator. So, anyways, let me list the problems present with the ROM I ported from the cartridge.

    -The Title is scrambled

-The starting town has some mislocated tiles

-In the first battle with your rival he always has missingno

-The Music is still messed up on the title

That's about all I've found so far with the emulator, I really didn't go too far into it, I actually just wanted to see if the cartridge worked enough that it was even possible to port it. I am interested in the fact that not all problems peristent with the cartridge are found on the emulator. It doesn't make any sense to me, if you have any ideas, please leave them in the comments.

Edit: I'm going to list problems I've found with the cartridge.

-Both Brock and the Old Man use the Lavender town White Hand dialogue when you first meet them

-Trainer don't approach you, you have to walk up and talk to them, otherwise battles are for the most part normal

-Tiles in Pallet Town are messed up

-Rival usually has a Rhydon or Missingno

-Some of the Wild Pokemon have Bublasaur's name but Growlithe's sprite

    -The Title screen is scrambled

-Music on the title is messed up

-My trainer card is extremely glitchy, both the play time and trainer name are always inaccurate, and occassionally freezes the game when accesses.
  20. Harmonic Revelations
I've been working on a Minecraft Project. Basically, it's a city. I tried to use the same building style that the villages have, except on a larger scale. It's all built by me, I built it by hand and in game in it's entirety.

The mods I used were Tekkit Lite, as well as Coloured Beds. Anyways, here are some screenshots, I'm not even half way done yet.

This is an over view, to the left is the city, to the right is the castle. The part with the light house out front is the dock.

This is the docks. It includes a ware house and light house.

Here is a bar I was working on. (Front view)
