In his human form, he's a young, brown-haired male. He often wears a red shirt and wrist bands with blue shorts and black sneakers while he's a human.

Courageous, free-spirited, and cocky, Stephan will step up to any challenge without hesitation. Whenever he sees someone he cares about in danger, he quickly becomes serious and relentless. Thoughts of his past life on Earth sometimes make him emotional. For example, sometimes the thought of his parents sometimes makes him sad. He thinks about what they were feeling when they couldn't find their son. It even makes him cry sometimes. He was also teased a lot back on Earth, which can build up a temper in him. Despite that, he is very heroic, as he never backs down from any threat or obstacle.

As a small colt, Blasted Nova seemed to be the oddball of his kind. He was unlike any other earth pony in Equestria. He had the ability to run at high speeds, had amazing agility, and it made him seem almost as if he was a superhero. Even though he grew up around a loving family, he grew up as a social outcast. Though, despite that, he always had a knack for helping others out. If there was a filly or colt being pushed around, he'd always try his best to help them out in any way he could.

 

After residing in Ponyville for an extended period when he grew up, Blast discovered that his speed from when he was a colt was drastically improved. He spent many weeks perfecting the speed, making him able to control it's acceleration, MpH, and intensity. His top speed is unknown, but, throughout his adventures, he's gone at speeds nopony could ever imagine an earth pony to reach. He also trained himself in the arts of unarmed combat, since he never really liked using a gun or sword.

 

After discovering the speed and combat, other ponies began to see Blast as a freak and an outcast. Although, other ponies see him as a force of nature. He didn't really care how other ponies saw him, though. All he cared about was using his speed and abilities for a good cause. From that point on, he vowed to protect Equestria from evil if it dared to raise it's ugly head. However, he often leaves his home in Ponyville, in search of his next adventure.

Blast might not be strong, but his speed allows him to throw blows at incredible rates, making them weak, but effective. He'd still rather use his speed and agility to out-maneuver his enemies and catch them off-guard.
