      Cutie Mark: <p> Dosey Doe loves to dance! The best part of dancing is sharing it with your friends! Her cutie mark is a pair of horseshoes connected by a dotted line. It's supposed to look like a dancing instruction diagram. </p>

      Personality: <p> Perpetually, relentlessly, obnoxiously cheerful. She'll wake you up for winter wrap up at five in the morning like that's completely reasonable. She has a literal bounce in her step. All the time. </p> <p> On the other hand, she also cries at the drop of a hat, especially if she thinks she hurt somepony's feelings. </p>

      Backstory: <p> Born and raised in Ponyville, uneventful childhood. Parents were kind. She visits them often. As a background pony, most of the excitement in her life comes from Twilight & friends narrowly saving Ponyville from total destruction every third week or so. </p>

        There we go! That's how  you make a cannonical character! I'd want to ask what you mean, specifically, by 'background pony', but that is how you do it! She lives her own life, and sure, maybe the characters we follow know her and there may be only a very slim chance we would see her go by in the background, but that is how you put another life into another world! It's okay to not have some huge story of drama behind your characters; It's alright to be just normal! Which is something I still need to learn! *sage nod*

       Maybe a teensy bit too close to sounding like Pinkie Pie, but that's hardly a bad, ain't it?

    Haha, that's fair. It's a fine line to walk when writing her, to be sure. She's cheerful and friendly, but not even that much more than your average pony, and she's not spastic or crazy, and doesn't break the laws of physics or anything. When I say "background pony" I really just mean, that's how I'm thinking when I write her.

    I'm actually very impressed by how interesting you've made her out to be while keeping the overall information simple. I can appreciate that some people like to create intricately detailed characters with paragraphs of backstory and personality to read (heck, I'm quite guilty of that myself), but this is a fine example of a character who displays just enough to make me want to know more about her, while not needing to go digging too far down a long rabbit hole. She's perfectly ordinary and believable, but stands out and catches your attention enough to want to learn a bit more. Great balance! :lol:

    I guess all the artwork helps too. ;)
