Jackie (Tl;Dr At Bottom)
By Jackie Snack
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Species: Earth Pony
Appearance:
JACKIE
Race: Earth
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Orientation: Lesbian (Sexually) Pan (romantically, no cis-gender males)
Build: Tall, chubby, slightly muscular
Hometown: Hayseed Swamp
Occupation: Electrician
Cutie mark: Red heart with small flames radiating from it
Passion: Making others feel comfortable

(BASIC APPEARANCE) Jackie has a thick, somewhat unruly mane, a rich brown that drapes over her shoulders and requires a daily brushing. Her tail is much the same way, but it requires much more brushing, as it tends to end up on the ass end (pun intended) of quite a few messes when working. It can be quite difficult washing grime and oil out of your hair. Her coat isn't much better and every so often, you'll find matted spots on her body almost looking like they've been stained from her work environment. Her eyes, a calm, deep brown, tend to instill relaxation in others (probably because she often looks like she might have baked herself some special brownies again). A thick pair of black rimmed glasses adorn her face, while a worn bandana holds her mane in place.

(ANTHRO) In her anthro form, she wears a midriff green tank top that is tattered around the edges and has some tear holes on them. Her pants are faded brown, the hem on the legs torn from them slipping under her boots. As such, she's had to tuck them in to avoid completely destroying them. Her boots, steel-toed and durable, let her work at the shipyards. They insulate against minor electrical shocks and are great for teaching someone a lesson, when words just don't do the trick.

(PHYSIQUE) Jackie is very tall for a mare, taller than most stallions. Along with that height, her body is rather thick and filled out, but not how you would think. Her job involves a fair bit of manual labor, which builds muscles, but she also loves to eat. The amount of food she tends to eat outweighs (again, intended) her physical exertion and has allowed for a generous amount of squish to gather in certain spots, especially her tummy. Her arms are bulky and strong, capable of heavy lifting. Her tummy is round and squishy, which is oddly just the way she likes it. Her hips are somewhat defined: wide enough to do some damage if she decided to cause trouble, but not terribly wide to the point of being obnoxious. Her thighs are large and, while she will never admit it, are capable of crushing several objects. (Including a basketball. She lost a bet, alright?) Her rear... well, it's kinda big and doughy, like a soft cinnamon roll. She likes junk food, whaddya want?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cutie Mark:
(CUTIE MARK)
Red heart with small flames radiating from the top.
Jackie herself does not quite understand what it means. She noticed it after waking up after spending the night with her high school sweetheart. Honestly, she thinks it makes her look like a biker and she hates that. The day after she gained it, she begged her parents not to make her go to school. That was a fun filled day.
In reality, it signifies her desire to make others feel comfortable. While having no real talent herself, nor ambitious, Jackie actually feels useless when she has a friend who she can't help. She does her best to make sure others can trust her on an emotional level. Anything she can do to help others feel better is a worthwhile cause, as long as it doesn't enable bad behavior or hurt others.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Personality:
(PERSONALITY)

Jackie is very open-minded. She always speaks her mind and means what she says. Contrary to her carefree attitude, every word she says is carefully thought out. While she does not approve of 'sugarcoating' what she has to say, if it meant she would lose a friend in the process, then sugarcoat she shall, if the friend is worth it.

Jackie is comfortable with her body. She knows that she's heavier than most mares; she also knows that she's stronger than most mares. She loves the feeling of a full stomach more than anything (unless its TOO full). At the same time, she hates being unable to do anything by herself and her work/diet allows her to enjoy both sides of that coin. She finds a thin frame fragile.

Jackie loves her friends, despite not having many. She may not speak to them as often as she would like, thanks to work, but she does her best to make herself available to them, especially if they're having troubles. She will often give them advice if they need it, especially to the younger friends she comes across in her life who are learning about the harsh realities of the world they live in. Also, if she shares food with you, you're in her good graces.

Jackie likes to trust ponies. She believes nobody has a reason to be dishonest, but she obviously knows that there are bad people out there. Still trusts everyone when she first meets them. Should they betray that trust, they will never get it back, which goes for her friends, as well. In her mind, if she tries to help and they foil that on purpose, they don't deserve a second chance.

Jackie likes to work, oddly enough. It keeps her mind off the worse troubles she may have going on in her life. She likes to work a wide variety of jobs (anything from watching your dog to building a deck), as long as it pays. She is realistic, after all. Store brand hay gets old after a while and she would like to buy the better brand every so often.

Jackie doesn't make empty threats. On a table turning account, she can be rather vengeful. She holds a grudge for a remarkably long time and will remember it like the day it happened. The threats she does make are always small (anything from a nutshot to slashing your tires), because she always carries them out if the offense made against her is carried out. She hasn't had to kill anyone yet, so that's good. Also, if Jackie tells you to back away, please back away. She will not hesitate to stomp someone into a bloody pulp if she thinks she's going to be attacked.

Jackie's emotions are (usually) under control. She obviously enjoys being happy the most, but life can get to her every so often and cause her to breakdown. When she does, she tends to shut down and stay away from everything. She's very patient and can shut almost anything out if it's annoying her, with the exception of her few pet peeves. Unfortunately, being very slow to anger, once she reaches that furious peak, its very explosive.

Jackie enjoys music from the 1940's to 2000. Her favorite genre's are rock, new age/down tempo, easy listening and many a musical. She often brings music along when she works and almost always when she's upset.

Jackie enjoys nature. She hikes often, her favorite spots being lush mountains, shady glens and rainy valleys. If there's a thunderstorm, chances are, she'll be out in it.

Jackie doesn't quite trust law enforcement, to include the military and the royal guard. She has an issue with them, after having served in Equestria's Armed Forces. Her position allowed her to watch how the country was run 'behind the scenes' and did not re-enlist when her time was up. She was also treated poorly and was on the receiving end of a beating by three stallions that she served with that were not fond of her. As such, she prefers to stay away from the guards and police that patrol the city.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Backstory:
(BACKSTORY)
Jackie grew up in a small town between the Hayseed Swamps and Baltimare. She was born to a earth pony mother and a unicorn father. Their family, like the others around them, were financially lower class, but they had the necessities taken care of, with enough left over for a little splurging once or twice a year. Her childhood was pretty standard: few friends around, not much excitement and plenty of places to explore... as long as they didn't get too close to the swamps.
Jackie was a late bloomer when it came to her cutie mark, but an early one physically. She grew faster than the other kids, becoming even taller than most of the colts that went to school with her. As it usually was with children, she was made fun of for a while, but the jeers and insults would never last.
Truth be told, she was very introverted during school. She would sit quietly while school was in session, chatter excitedly with her friends during lunch, then isolate herself once more once lunch was over. As she grew older, she found herself staying inside more often, away from the other kids. Sometimes, she could be coaxed to go out and play (or at times, pushed out by her parents), but that eventually ended, as well.
It wasn't until her later school years did she begin to open up again. At the same time, hormones began their assault and it put her earlier growth spurts to shame. She would find herself hungry, almost unable to satisfy her stomach. Extra snack at lunch, second soda when she got home, another scoop of ice cream after dinner when Mom wasn't looking... The insults returned, but she found herself better equipped to ignore them.
Near the end of her schooling, she found herself a group of friends with nearly the same interests that she had. She was still the quiet one of the group, but they didn't seem to mind. They enjoyed her simply being there. Every so often, Jackie would contribute to whatever conversation they were having without being ignored. She used these friends as an opportunity to open up a little.
And it worked. She started to talk to others in her class, outside her group and even on the way home from school. With that, she found herself noticing others more and started to experience a bit of attraction towards other. Allowing herself to open up showed her there was more to other people than a voice.
She ended up somewhat befriending a young unicorn mare that seemed as awkward as she was and indeed, it was a bit difficult to even get her to talk. Jackie knew the best way to get someone's attention was to expose them to something they liked. Everyone liked food, right? All it took was a subtle, bare nudge and a plastic wrapped pastry to get a smile from her new friend.
Jackie still wouldn't leave the house that often, but she no longer needed to: her friend visited her often and actually insisted on it. Something about her house not being clean enough for her to come over. Regardless, Jackie didn't complain and always made time for her, enjoying the company.
So much so that, after watching a movie and getting really sleepy, they (very very VERY awkwardly) kissed one night and couldn't look at each other for the rest of the night or even the following day. Jackie felt bad and wanted to apologize, thinking she initiated it and made her friend feel weird.
Jackie didn't see her friend for a whole week until her friend knocked on her door after school that Friday and, crying her eyes out, apologized for avoiding her. They then both began to apologize back and forth profusely, only to end up hugging it out and spending the rest of the day together. They talked the rest of the night until her friend fell asleep on her lap. Jackie slept where she sat, her arms wrapped fondly around her friend. She woke up to find her cutie mark... wasn't quite sure why.
Jump forward a few years. Her friend moved away to Manehattan, Jackie has opened up even more and it wasn't until just before her friend moved away that Jackie found out she had been her friend's temporary escape from a somewhat abusive household.
At this point, she found others who seemed to enjoy her presence. Be it for one reason or another, they all claimed that they felt like they weren't being examined or judged when around her. At this point, Jackie was far more energetic and maybe even a little charmingly obnoxious at this point in her life. However, that trait did not lend itself to making job-searching easy, so she found herself enlisting in the Equestrian Armed Forces. Seemed like a good idea. Free training, free housing and free medical. Sounded like a dream, with only a few sacrifices necessary.
Too bad those sacrifices involved quite a few of her rights as an Equestrian citizen. Seven long years were spent toiling away for her country and while it wasn't all bad (she certainly needed the paycheck), her role authorized her access to information that was only available to others with similar access. She saw... things. Things she didn't like.
Despite the threats of not finding work outside of the military, Jackie assured her superiors that she would not be re-enlisting, essentially giving the pony equivalent of a middle finger on the way out of work her final day.
Nowadays, she works in the Tall Tale shipyards as an electrician. She'll occasionally travel for a contract, but mostly stays in the rainy city. It's not easy, but it was FAR less stressful that military life. She didn't have to wear a stuffy uniform, she didn't have to worry if finding mares 'a pleasure to be with' would get her kicked out..
And the best part? She didn't have to watch what she ate anymore.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
