Ashen Pathfinder 16,161 June 30, 2014 Share June 30, 2014 I am really not sure about Germany. I mean I am happy they advanced, but Algeria seriously put them to the sword just about. Going by comments on a Bayern Munich forum I frequent, the calls for Löw to resign or be fired just keep growing. He was never THAT popular on those forums at least, but a lot are questioning his tactics. Tigerpop198 696 July 1, 2014 Share July 1, 2014 (edited) Germany wins a hard fought battle against Algeria. Neuer= a Goalkeeper, and a CB at the very same time. Once again the Munich players, showing their dominance on the pitch. Mia San Mia. Edited July 1, 2014 by pony12343

Ashen Pathfinder 16,161 July 1, 2014 Share July 1, 2014 Sure, go on with the insults. That's sporting. The USA played a brave game, but Belgium were the better side and deserved to go through. It hurts, but this team has belief. Congrats on your run USMNT. 2 Pathfinder I Sojourner I Corsair | Zu'hra I Autumn | Scarlet Willow | Gypsy | Silverthorn | Crystal Whisper | Radiant Historia | And many other OCs~ Matching signatures with mah Bestie MOONLIGHT <

Tigerpop198 696 July 1, 2014 Share July 1, 2014 (edited) Argentina, and Belgium through. I wanted them through, I guess I got what I wanted. Nice showing from Tim Howard though, man he was good this game. All in all, it was an exciting game. Edit-Exciting, not exiting. Java Jive 440 July 1, 2014 Share July 1, 2014 Wow, fun energetic back and forth game, Belgium lost it's focus and allowed the US to nearly claw its way out of the abyss. I kinda wish they did just for the dramatics. Now, Argentina had it's troubles scoring against a compact Swiss team and now are up against a very motivated Belgium, who are having their best WC since '86 (by twist of fate, they are facing the very same opponent that eliminated them in the '86 semifinals), they aren't likely to be intimidated, even against Messi. Although their attacking styles is likely to create the spaces for a shootout. Personally i'm hoping for a Belgium-Netherlands derby. There's always something to the rivalry of neighbors ... Lastly, fun fact, i believe this is the first time in world cup history all 8 group winners triumphed. 1 Let's go downtown.

Tigerpop198 696 July 2, 2014 Share July 2, 2014 I'm guessing most of of the lads here were rooting for the USA, what teams are you supporting now. As an added note Tim Howard, now has a World cup record for most saves in a single game, which is 16. Maybe it is time for football, to make a huge impact in USA. Major League Soccer is expanding to 21 teams in 2015 (adding in Orlando City SC and New York City FC) and is ripe for some much needed attention. Anywho, I'll be cheering on Germany and Costa Rica (CONCACAF) now, though it seems like they may have some tough games coming. 1 Pathfinder I Sojourner I Corsair | Zu'hra I Autumn | Scarlet Willow | Gypsy | Silverthorn | Crystal Whisper | Radiant Historia | And many other OCs~ Matching signatures with mah Bestie MOONLIGHT <

If Germany and Netherlands, get beat out I will probably cheer for France. Yes, Costa Rica is going to have one of the toughest games ever, against the Dutch. Also, it is good that MLS is expanding and getting some star players also(Frank Lampard, David Villa.) Heck, in 2 years Zlatan can go to MLS(don't expect this happening soon.)

I'm super happy for him, I was a huge fan of him at Man Utd and was sad to see him go. I still have 2 Howard shirts from his United spell, I used to also wear the same gloves when I played As he was the number 1 goalie when I was first introduced to football and taken to Old Trafford to watch games, he was one of my idols from the start

I'm super happy for him, I was a huge fan of him at Man Utd and was sad to see him go. I still have 2 Howard shirts from his United spell, I used to also wear the same gloves when I played I'm a pretty big supporter of Man Utd also, they're my second favourite BPL team(Liverpool FC first.) There is no doubting that he is a good goalkeeper, the last game he showed that. I wasn't even cheering for USA, but still had to give him a round of applause.
