Who is the legal guardian of Applejack and Applebloom?

That link just validates my point, that the truth is unclear.  All that's been confirmed is that the shooting stars represented the parents, nothing more.

It also doesn't confirm that they're alive at all. Let's face it: you bring up Peter's parents, but they talk about them all the time and how they think or are sure they are dead.

Applejack and her siblings have never talked about their parents on the show before. So it can really be interpreted either way. The two shooting stars we know for sure represent Applejack's parents. Now, if her parents were alive, why wouldn't they just mention that? Because they have passed away for some reason and the writers took a roundabout way to show that they are in a better place with the shooting stars because they can't outright say it.

"Think" and "are sure" are not solid proof.  While there hasn't been any proof that they're alive, there's also no proof that they're dead.  That's what I'm saying.  Both the Parkers and the Apples could be alive.

Gimme some time to come up with something new, okay?  MUCH LOVES!!!

I'm leaning more toward the Apple parents being dead though. There is absolutely no reason to not mention them if they're alive on the show. That was my point: Peter talks about his parents frequently enough so that we know that most people think they're dead; Applejack and her siblings have never mentioned their parents, not once, which means they're likely passed away. Why else would they never ever mention them? If they were alive somewhere, then Applejack would've mentioned it by now because there would be no TV-Y preventing them from mentioning that they're alive. There's nothing bad about parents being alive, but a cartoon might be scared to mention parents if they're dead.
